Long story short…our trip to Arizona was a lot of fun but we didn’t find a house yet.  We need to wait until this one is sold and done.  We are hoping to hear today when the closing day will be.

We are guessing that the last show for awhile will be September 9th…somewhere.  Then we will have to see what the internet situation is at our temporary place.

Now on the singing front, I’ve brought out quite a few new songs lately so if you haven’t made a show in a while come down and visit us.  Just today I added a new song to the naughty set.  Nope won’t tell you what it is, you’ll have to come see for yourself.

I mentioned once that Greek and I spend most Saturday nights at Junkyard Blues in SL.  Bard Wasp is the DJ at that time and he spins some great music, doing almost exclusively slow (read “sexy”) blues from about 11pm on until he quits, which many times is 2 am or later.

I’ve gotten ideas for many of my songs from him.  ”Need Your Love So Bad”, “I Just Wanna Make Love To You” to name a couple.  Most of the time though, I can’t find a backing for the ones I really love.  One night he played a Gary Moore tune that I had never heard.  Of course no one had the backing either.

I contacted my friend, John Scott (Jack Kytori in SL).  He’s the one that asked me to collaborate with him on “Sirens” last year.  I asked for a backing and boy did he deliver!  It is so awesome that we are going to record it and bring it out for sale!  So keep your ears tuned to find out when!  We unveiled it at Salty Dog’s 1st anniversary party and it got fantastic responses!  He is a very very talented man and I am grateful to be his friend.  Thank you John!

There is a very special show coming up this week.  On Thursday, August 18th, the Blues Station is hosting a benefit for one of our own.  Beth Odets is a live performer in SL.  She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent surgery.  They got a lot of it out but not all.  I believe they tried to treat the rest with chemo with very adverse results, so she needs to have another operation.  Part of it has to be paid upfront before they will schedule so they have been holding benefits all over SL.  I offered my services and will take the stream at 5 pm slt on Thursday for this benefit.  I would be honored if you would join me.

I click it and it opens up and…another very very good SL friend has passed away.

Some of you may have been at my shows when my “keikis” come to visit.  They are my fans who use child avies.  Or you may have attended one of my shows at Star Dreams.

My friend, Jaydan, was one of the casualties of this heat wave hitting the eastern part of North America.  He was one of those friends that always has your back.  If there was a griefer anywhere, all I had to do was call and he’d be there.  He warned me to stay away from a group who were doing some questionable things.  That group is being investigated by federal authorities now.  He was a good friend who always took care of others before himself.  He was one of my biggest fans and supporters.  He will be terribly missed.

RIP Jaydan You will be missed by us all!

Watch SL after I get back for a concert in his honor.  I had to cancel my last show with him when I had surgery and we didn’t get around to rebooking.  I feel bad about that.

I will tell you all again…Be safe!  Hug those you love and tell them you love them.  Don’t wait until later…tomorrow.

One the virtual side. Ichie got her first update in 4 years! I still wanted her to look the same but with more definition. I think I accomplished this as you can’t really tell a difference unless they are side by side.  Even the makeup colors are similar.   What do you think?

It is fun to be able to be young forever.  We love that we can fit in just about anything we try on.  We can have long hair or short hair or just have hair!  We can live in dream houses and own all the land we want.  Forget long airplane rides or car rides.  We teleport nearly instantaneously.  It is an entertaining game to play.

Then we meet people.  People we connect with.  We share our likes, our dreams, our hurts, our loves.  Soon you realize that they have become part of your heart.

Today, I lost a very very dear friend.  I heard, from Facebook of all places, that Kelvinblue Oh (Kevin Navy) had passed away in his sleep last night.

I met Kevin almost 4 years ago in a tiny blues joint in SL.  We had a couple of mutual friends and would run into each other now and then.  One night he asked me to dance and we’ve been close friends ever since.

I was going through my divorce back then and he got me some information about working online from my home.  He was always worried about how I was doing.  Kevin even offered to buy me a mic stand once when he found out that the mic I used for my shows was taped to a bottle of port.  He was the first person that I ever showed my RL picture too.

Some nights, he would wake up in the early morning hours and find me online and we’d talk.  Our IM’s sometimes turned into phone calls.  We’d talk about love, life, family and music.  There were a couple of times he just played his guitar for me over the phone.

I’d hire him for shows and parties we threw.  He hired me for his clubs and even for his wedding.  We always talked about dual streaming but never managed to get our acts together to do it.  A moment lost for me.

He told me a story once about having to go on a road trip with his kids to visit other relatives.  His kids tried to keep him from eating things he shouldn’t have.  He hid a diet Coke and cherry pie in the car and had to sneak out when no one was looking to eat it and almost got caught!  He was so thrilled at pulling one over on the kids that I could hear the twinkle in his eyes.

I remember him telling me about meeting Gwyneth and how happy he was.  I remember the year long frustration when he had to go through all the red tape to get a passport to see her in Germany.  I remember his Skype a few weeks ago saying… “I’m here in Germany!”  I was so happy for them both.

In the last year or so, we haven’t connected as much as we did before.  We each had lives outside of SL.  Him with his fiance and me with Greek.  When we did talk, every conversation always ended with “I love you”.

I had seen him popping into Skype and SL the last couple of days and wanted to IM him but with my kids here, something always got in the way.  I wish I had taken a few moments to say hello.

My condolences go out to his family and to his fiance.  He loved you all very much.  I know, he told me so.

Kevin, thank you my friend,  for being a big part of my life.  Your music will be with me always but your voice will be missed.  I love you.

And to all of my friends out there.  You never know what the morning brings.  I love you all too.

Anyone Out There?

The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty light on shows as Greek and I have a lot to do RL.  The last weekend of July will be a busy one though.  I’ll have 8 shows starting on Thursday night and ending on Sunday night.  Some are for some great benefits so make sure you come and visit and see what they are all about!

So the good news is that St. Joe seems to have worked.  We have a buyer for the house here.  They’ve accepted our counter offer and were here today again measuring for new appliances and to put the fence in the backyard.  Finally!

So if all goes well, we’ll be out of here early September, at the latest!  YAY!

This means that Greek and I will probably take a quick trip out to Arizona to look at houses again in the next couple of weeks.  We are excited!  It seems our RL has been on hold for months waiting for this move.  We’ll keep you posted and may even try and do some tweeting while we’re down there, so join me on twitter!

On to other matters, I have a new project in the works.  I very recently found a new song that I am in love with.  Alas, there is no backing available for it, so I’ve been talking with my friend John Scott/Jack Kytori.  He’s the one that I did Sirens with.  If you haven’t heard it go take a listen.  He’s working on putting something together for me.  I’m not telling you what song it is or what artist did it.  So you will all have to wait and see.  If it works out well, we may even have a surprise for you!

On the singing front, I brought out 3 new songs last week, “Drowning in a Sea of Love”, “Fool That I Am”, and “Listen to Your Heart”.   I may have a couple of new ones for you this week too.

I’ll be back at Salty Dog on Friday night at 7 pm slt and at The Sandbox in Inworldz at 4 pm on Sunday.

The following Friday, July 22nd, I’ll be back at the Tiatopia RezzEvent Pad at 10 pm.   This is turning out to be a popular show and we are seeing quite of few of our old friends that used to come to Azure.  If you are free then come down and join us.  I take requests and we start the sploder, it’s a great time to party and start your weekend off.

Oh, I am doing a pool party at Raglan in the 31st at 12 pm (noon) slt.  Come as a biggie or if you’ve always wanted to experience being a tiny, now is the time to get ready!  I’ll be singing as Foxy Ichie and I’ll be in a bikini!  The Tinies really know how to throw a party and we will have an awesome time!  Can you say WAFFLES?!!!

Things have been busy RL for us.  No, we haven’t sold the house yet.  I’m starting to think St. Joe likes it out there, buried in our front yard.  Weather’s been nice and it’s pretty quiet, unlike IN the house.

We went to Medieval Times on Saturday between my shows.

Yes, my kids are noisy, sometimes.  Between playing video and computer games with them, watching TV and movies and cooking, I don’t have time to do much of anything else.  Can you believe that they expect to be fed at least 3x a day?  Actually with my kids it’s more like 7x.  I think they are related to hobbits.

So if you don’t see us around much, you know why.  We do miss all of you and there is one event, besides my shows, that we try to make every week.  Nearly every Saturday night you will find Greek and I at Junkyard Blues (JY).

Many of you have probably stopped in at JY at sometime during your SL lives.  Kiff and Dina, the owners, have just celebrated their 5th year in business!  The dance floor is situated so that it is on 2 sims with the DJ “pad” near the sim border.  This helps to reduce lag as it gets really busy here!  It’s not unusual to have 50+ at times.  I do an occasional show here too and it’s always a wild and fun event.  When you are there do me a favor and feed some L’s to the pink flamingos so they can keep celebrating those anniversaries.

Most of you have met or heard me talk about my friend, Bard Wasp.  He’s not only my friend but my sound man too.  I go running to him if anyone says my sound is off and he always finds the time to help me.  He also recommends songs for me.  He’s responsible for “I Just Wanna Make Love To You” and “Need Your Love So Bad”.  So if you like how I sound and those songs, thank him ok?

Bard DJ’s at JY a few times during the week but Saturday nights are special for us.  He is accompanied on that night by JY hostess Lola Bravitz.  Lola is a doll and we love her and her energy.  Ask her to toss you a JY tag, you’ll be glad you did.  She works hard to make sure everyone feels welcome and she helps to keep the crowd lively.  If you are looking for a place where no one chats and every one keeps to themselves, then Saturday night at JY is NOT for you.  On the other hand, if you, like me, love good conversation with a group of awesome people, then JY will fill the bill quite nicely.

Bard starts at 9 pm and always plays the most amazing music, but somewhere around 11 pm, he switches over to “slow blues”.   These are slow and sexy songs that make you want to melt.  You may even catch him playing a bit of my music.  He’ll spin for hours and Greek and I stay for the whole night.  So you can come down and join us!  Don’t be shy!  They only bite if asked!

When I do have a bit of spare time, I’ve been working on some new songs.  Keep an eye out for songs done by Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Roxie, Enya, Celine Dion and maybe even Adele.

We are going to try and continue our biweekly 10 pm Friday night concerts.  These were popular shows at Azure and now we are moving them to Tiatopia’s RezzEvent Pad.  We miss Graine but hope she’ll make a surprise appearance and visit us one night.

I’m also the music manager at Tiatopia in SL.  We have an awesome monthly show coming up for you!  On the 4th Thursday of every month, we have some of the best performers in SL taking over the stream at the RezzEvent Pad.  We’ll start at 5 pm with the man with the magic fingers, Zachh Cale.  At 6 pm Ganjo Mokeev will rock our world.  He’s followed at 7 pm by the amazing music of Anj Gustafson.  I get to close out that fantastic lineup at 8 pm!  Mark your calendars for July 28th and be there!

Love having my kids here although, some days they work my last nerve. This was part of my youngest’s (8 yrs old) blog yesterday:

“In the shower my brother splashed soap all over me. Also he drained the water. He made me feel sick. Usually I have fun. I had 100% torture.”

Torture…yeah…I can relate. I got to hear a play by play the whole time. As in…Momma he splashed me!….Momma he is irritating me…. I did not…you did too…MOMMA!

My boys are settling in nicely and I’ve taken out a book or two from the library and am teaching them to draw.  Another to-do thing on my list.  I just want to expose them to all kinds of things so they can find something they enjoy or are good at.

House is still up for sale.  We are waiting and getting antsy.  Hoping to move before the school year starts again.  Send good vibes our way please!

Let’ me tell you what’s coming up as far as my shows go.

First up is a Relay for Life event at Elegance Ballroom this coming Wednesday (June 22nd) at 10 pm slt.  Many of you know that I lost my sister to cancer 4 years ago.  She is the reason I’m in SL and singing now.  If you are free, please come out and join us!

I am doing a special event for Madeleine and Caesar from Madeleine’s Jazz and Blues on July 3rd at 8 pm slt.  I believe it’s an all day thing and will let you know more when I hear about it.

The Autism Society of America – SL Chapter will be having their annual summer event on July 3rd from 5 pm-8pm slt.  My dear friend, Lissa Fimicoloud, will be djing from 6-7.  I will be singing at 7 pm and will book another live performer at 5pm.  (I think Cellandra Zon – light dancer will be on earlier that afternoon too)

Those are the special events I have scheduled for now.  Of course I have my regular shows at Endeavour Cove and Elegance Ballroom in SL.  I also do a weekly show at Shayna’s Blues Bayou  and at Angel Beach in Inworldz.

NEWS!!  Tiatopia was sort of on hiatus the last 6 months but it’s back!  Go check out the sim!  Tia and Dorian completely redid it and it looks awesome.  Art Gallery and ASA are still there.  There are shops for rent too!  They are installing a sim boarding area, so those that want to try their hand at that have a new place to ride.

We are down to one venue but what a venue it will be!  The Tiatopia RezzEvent Pad will be a multiuse space.  It will have a number of different setups all put into a rezzer so that we can rezz…or even completely unrezz…everything as needed.  We will have a live music stage, fashion show area, open event area, wedding space and more!

The space will be available free of charge to anyone that wants to do an event there.  Add on packages will be available for those that don’t want to do everything themselves.  IM me for inquiries and more information.

We will christen the stage this Friday, June 24th!  I’ll be doing a show there at 10 pm slt!  We were so sad when Azure closed and we had a nice group going there, so we are hoping to bring them back and want you to join us too!  I’ll sing, Greek will be in charge and we don’t want him to slack off so … bring it!

When did you talk to your kids about…frogs? I’m hoping my kids stay turtle fans myself.

What this means is that you will probably see a little less of me online.  Especially while they are out of school and while we try to adjust to some kind of routine.

I don’t know why so many of you are so anxious to hear more about me.  Maybe you are waiting for the down and dirty on Greek?  Hmmmm, that kind of black mail could get me something good.  I’ll let you know.

I am a dabbler.  I enjoy and can do quite a few things passably.  I used to say that I was a Jack of All Trades, Master of None.   That was before I started singing online.  While I still don’t consider myself a “master”, singing is my dominant talent.

I write, mostly erotica.   That sounds so classy.  Others may call it smut or just …dirty or naughty stories…or even…(dramatic music)…porn!  Whatever you want to call them,  you can read them at my Livejournal.  Greek’s writing can be found there at his site too!

I do a little arts and crafts.  I can sew, like clothes and stuff.  I don’t currently have a sewing machine but soon.  I draw some.   If you’ve seen my tip jar in SL or IW, that texture is one of my original drawings.  I’m learning to draw other things but that’s for another post.

Music has always been a big part of my life.  I can play a little piano and a little guitar.  I used to play more but stopped for almost 20 years and it DOESN’T all come back.  My hands are stiffer now and no callouses on my fingers any more.

That doesn’t stop me from wanting to play and wanting to learn new things.  I know some of you wanted a peek into my RL and so we’ll start here.

Yes, it is in the closet in what is currently mine and Greek’s office.  It mostly collects dust, but when we move, I’m hoping to be able to get around to playing with it more.

My Guitars

The reddish one was given to me for my birthday 2 years ago by a very dear SL friend.  The other is a new acquisition.  They are both acoustic electric but the new one is a classical (nylon strings).  I’ve always played a classical guitar.  The black case behind them holds my old guitar.  I got that one when I was 16 and it’s seen much better days, but it has sentimental value.  Anyway, I don’t know what possessed me to try playing a steel string acoustic.  The neck is too narrow and it HURTS!  One day maybe one of my kids will learn to play it.

The other black case, behind the yellow ball is Greek’s electric guitar.  It’s a beauty but he can’t play any more.  I’ve never played one but again I’m hoping to learn sometime soon.

Ok I mentioned that the kids were here.  I’d like to nurture their musical talents too.  So…ok…I MAY be nuts…but…I bought these!

Our New Ukes

They are ukuleles.  My extended family is into playing them.   They all take lessons and have family get togethers just to play music with each other (ok…and eat).

The bigger one (tenor) is mine and the two concert ones are for the kids.  I figure we can all learn together.  I’m hoping they pass me up soon.

Now, don’t get all excited.  If you’ve been to my shows you know that I can barely sing and talk.  I don’t think I’ll ever be good enough to play AND sing live.   That’s not to say that I won’t ever make myself a backing and sing live to that.  Maybe.  Don’t hold your breath.  Unless you LIKE that shade of blue.
