RSR WORK SHOP CPD TDU AGM 14^TH APRIL 2012

Meet and greet

Overview of the courses rsr1, 2, 3

Why they are important

Changes to the instructor scheme in relation to the RSR course and the role of the instructor in providing the courses.

10:30 split into groups

Option one:

An RSR 1 course will be run candidates can either part take in this course and get an RSR 1 cert or if demand requires it can sit in on this RSR1 to aid them in getting in on the panels.

Option two:

Participants can avail of skills training looking at the skills of a RSR2 course and refreshing their skills.

Option three:

Participants will look at the skills of the RSR3 course and will also look at teaching rsr2 skills this option will suits those who have their RSR2 and are looking to improve their rescue skills and/or are looking at becoming a RSR 2 provider and are looking for some tips on how to deliver the RSR2 course.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THREE OPTIONS WILL REQUIRE YOU GETTING WET SO BRING ALL KAYAKING AND SAFETY GEAR AND DRESS WARM.

The TDU AGM will be held on the 14th of April in Cooneys Hotel in Ballymahon, Co.Longford.

During the Day we will be running the following CPD sessions.

1. Sit on top CPD

2. Sea Navigation Training

3. RSR 1 CPD

4. RSR 2 Training

5. 1-day conversion for Open boating, those applying must have a level 3 open boat skills and a level 1 or 2 kayak instructor training / assessment

Waterways Ireland Sponsorship Programme

Waterways Ireland have launched their sponsorship programme.

The programme for recreational waterway and waterside activity opens this week for events taking place on any of their navigations, i.e. Bann, Barrow, Erne, Grand and Royal Canals, etc. This programm ehas been in place for over seven years and has supported boating educational, historical events.
