Starting Your Web Page

We will learn on what to do first before going directly on makin the scripts of your pages and we will also learn on how to design and organize your site, How to begin to write the contents of your page.
Even though you can just start writing in HTML pages right away, It's better to think first about the design and make a sketch out of your site. In that way, you'll give yourself a direction on what to do next and save time. I personally used this method before going to HTML Editors like Dreamweaver, Intype and many more or you can just use a Notepad on making a web pages and before going to make my pages, the next thing I will do is to look for my resources, For example is the Images like photos, documentary for the contents, links and many more to complete my pages.

Steps in designing your site:

1. Figure out why are you creating this pages, what is it
for?.

2. Think about your visitors. How can make your website content to be appealing to your visitors. For
example, should you add more graphics to your page or is it more important about the topic you will post?.

3. How many pages will you need for your website? What structure would you like it to have? Do you want
your visitors to go through your site in a particular direction?

4. Sketch out your site in a piece of paper.

5. Make a simple and consistent naming systems for you images, pages, and other external files.

The country’s biggest, grandest and most anticipated festival is set to take center stage once again this year —the Sinulog Festival 2009. Sinulog festival is the country’s biggest pageantry of sights, sounds and colors as it honors and pays homage to the patron saint of Cebu , the child Jesus — Sr. Sto. Niño. Aside from the main spectacle which is the Sinulog Grand parade, there are also other activities lined up by the Cebu City Government and the Sinulog Foundation until the grand highlights of the festival from January 9-18, 2009.

Other highlights for the upcoming Sinulog Festival are Sinulog Photo Exhibits in Mactan Airport, Ayala, SM City and Emal (Jan. 5), Sinulog sa Kabataan—Lalawigan (Jan. 10), Sinulog sa Kabataan—Dakbayan (Jan. 11), Sinulog Festival Queen (Jan. 16), nightly programs like Cultural Shows and Street Party bands at Fuente Osmeña.

Sinulog Foundation assures all foreigners, balikbayans, and locals to anticipate all the activities that Cebu City Government has prepared this year, most especially during the Sinulog Grand Parade on January 18.

“Expect more out-of-town contingents who will be gracing the Sinulog Grand Parade. New concepts from the various contingents and better productions”, said Ricky Ballesteros, Executive Director of Sinulog Foundation.

As of now, there are already 45 contingents from various cities and provinces who confirmed that they will be participating in this Sinulog Grand Parade. HTML Special Symbols

The standard ASCII set contains 128 characters and can be used perfectly well for English documents. However, accents, curly quotes, and many commonly used symbols unfortunately cannot be found in this group. Luckily, HTML can contain any character in the full ISO Latin-1 character set (also known as ISO 8859-1). IN windows and Unix systems, just enter the character in the usual way and it will display properly in the browser.

Watch out! Even though you can type special characters, accents and o on in your Macintosh and DOS based PC, these systems do not use the standard ISO Latin-1 character set for the characters numbered 129-255 and will not display them correctly in the Web page, you must enter these special characters with either name or number codes.

Symbols are case sensitive and more descriptive. Some samples of special character below.

Writing In HTML

You can create an HTML document with any word processor or text editor (for example the notepad and wordpad.), or you can download or buy softwares like dreamweaver or Intype but if you really want to learn HTML without relying on any Web Page Editors then try to use notepad or wordpad for your basics in HTML.

HTML Tags

HTML tags are commands written between less than (<) and greater than (>) signs also known as angle brackets, that indicate how the browser should display the text. There are opening and closing versions for many but not all tags, and the affected text is contained within the two tags. Both the opening and closing tags use the same command word but the closing tag caries an initial extra forward slash symbol(/) for example <b>some content</b>.

Attributes

Many tags have a special attributes that offer a variety of options for the contained text. The attribute is entered between the command word and the final greater than symbol. Often, you can use a series of attributes in a single tag. Simply write one after the other in any order, with a space between each other.

Values

Attributes in turn often have values. In some cases, you must pick a value from a small group of choices, For example the border attribute for the tag table above can take values of 0-9 or much higher than 9, what ever you want the thickness of the border will be displayed, any other value given will be ignored like (nine).

Other attributes are more strict about the type of values they accept. For example the image tag on the first sample above src attribute only accept URLs for its value.

Quotation Marks

Generally speaking, values should be enclosed in straight quotation marks "". However, you can omit the quote marks if the value only contains letters (A-Z, a-z), digits and hyphens, or a period. I usually use quotes around URLs to ensure that they're not misinterpret by the server.

Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)

One of the W3c's major efforts at peace keeping was to develop Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), a system that separates the content of a page (written in HTML) from the format written in CSS and in so doing allows for more complete control over the design of a Web page while keeping the page universal. In addition, CSS can be applied to several pages at once, Helping the designer save time by storing all the formatting in one file.

That was the theory, anyway. In practice, neither the Microsoft or the Netscape, despite having participated in the development of CSS, has gotten around to fully implementing it in their browsers. In fact, the browser that best supports CSS is a newcomer to the battle: Opera, developed in Norway by a company whose chief technical officer is Hakon Lie, one of the major forces behind CSS at the W3C.

The lack of universal support for CSS has not discouraged designers from using it, however. CSS's powerful formatting and layout capabilities have attracted designers in much the same way that Netscape's extensions did in their day. With much the same problems pages that work only on some browsers and that completely break down in others..

But in todays browser I think almost all browser already supports CSS.

Browser Wars

In 1994, Netscape put up the first fences on the Web in so-called browser wars. In order to attract users, they threw universality to the wind and created a set of extensions to HTML that only Netscape could handle. For example, Web surfers using Netscape could view pages with different size and color text, photographs in JPEG format, background color and images, and in later versions, Multiple pages in a single window, called frames. Surfers with any other browser would get errors and funny looking results. Or nothing at all.

But people liked those extensions so much that they flocked to Netscape. By June of 1996, it had become the most popular computer program in the world with 38 million users.

Microsoft soon joined in, and started putting a fence in its own chunk of the Web. Again, to attract users they added non-standard extensions to HTML that only Internet Explorer, Microsoft's browser, could recognize.

So who do you design for? Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Flock users? It's a designer's nightmare and the web is suffering because of it.

Before we go to our basic coding in HTML, Lets all start from the beginning.

All of the web pages are written in HTML, HTML lets us add graphics, sound, video and format text and then save it all in a text only or ASCII file the only a computer can read. The Key to HTML is in the TAGS keywords enclosed with (<) or Less Than and (>) Greater Than signs.

But today their is a lot of software programs that can create HTML codes like the most known Macromedia but the advantage in learning HTML on your own means you'll never be limited to a particular program's feature and you can add whatever you want without having to struggle with confusing software or wait for software updates instead you can use even NOTEPAD in making web pages.

In this Blog we will go over to the basic to advanced in HTML.

HTML or HyperText Markup Language has 2 essential features, the HYPERTEXT and UNIVERSALITY. Hypertext means you can create a link in a web page that leads the visitor to any other page and Universality means that HTML documents are saved as ASCII or Text Only Files virtually any computer can read a Web Page.

Are you using the Adobe CS3? If you are going to ask me that question my answer would be sometimes, Because I am using the CS2 version and when I decided to use CS3, Abode release another one again, I haven't use the CS3 to its full potential yet but I really do hope that CS4 will be much greater to use than the previous versions of adobe. Anyway heres a little details about CS4.

The latest version, Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4), was announced on September 23, 2008 as the successor to Adobe Creative Suite 3. It was officially released on October 15, 2008. 30-day trials for all products except those in Japanese should be available by mid-November 2008. Japanese-language trials are expected to be available by early December 2008. Adobe sells Creative Suite applications in six different combinations called "editions".

New in Creative Suite 4

All applications in CS4 feature the same user interface, with a new tabbed interface for working with concurrently running Adobe CS4 programs where multiple applications can be opened inside multiple tabs contained in a single window. It was announced that nVidia CUDA technology is now supported to allow for the accelerated encoding of video.
Adobe CS4 is also developed to perform better under 64-bit and multi-core processors. Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, and Adobe Soundbooth CS4 will officially support 64-bit. However, Adobe CS4 64-bit will not be available for Mac OS X. In early testing of 64-bit support in Adobe Photoshop CS4, overall performance gains ranged from 8% to 12%. Those who work with extremely large files may realize noticeably greater gains in performance, in some cases as dramatic as ten times the previous speed. This is because 64-bit applications can address larger amounts of memory and thus result in less file swapping — one of the biggest factors that can affect data processing speed.

Sorry for the late post but anyway, October 23, 2008 the date has been set for the Digital Filipino, I was so excited for this event it's my first time to join to gathering like this one. When I first arrive at the Casino Filipino PAGCOR the organizers of the event was so accommodating, Me and my bestfriend Jun Rhy Crodua was seated at the same table of the istorya.net administrators. The night becomes more exciting when jun and I decided to play the baccarat game and I won the second prize for 1000 but in order to make the 1000 check to money you have to play at the casino so we played Pula sa Puti at the first try we lost the 500 but on the second try we won the 500 and then decided to go home. heheheheh..

Making Curly Page in a Seconds

This is the final result of what we are going to learn in this tuts.

Step 1:
Create a new page by going to File->New or just directly press CTRL+N, Open two pictures that you want to edit and just drag it to the page you just made to put the picture in the same page and rename the the layers to pict1 and pict2 like show below.

Step 2:

Select pict1 layer and then go to Edit->Transform->Warp (shortcut key is CTRL+T then right click Warp) and the result is shown below.

Step 3:
Now for making the curly page just simply drag the down right edge of the pict1 layer like shown below.

Step 4:
For the finale just add the blending options below (to add blending options just go to Layer->Layer Style->Blending Options or just right click the layer you want to apply the blending options then select blending options).

And thats it.... If you master this trick you can do this in just a seconds.. Easy, Simple but effective.

Animated Fire Text Effect in photoshop

For this week tutorial we are going to learn how to make an simple animation using text. See below for example(click to see it animate and more clearly).

Step 1:

Create a new canvas (file->new or CTRL+N) change your width to 800px and height to 400px as shown below and color your canvas with black so we can see the effects for clearly by using the paint bucket tool and fill the background layer.Step 2:
Now select type tool or press T on you keyboard and type whatever you want (For this tutorial I use my nickname iceman).Step 3:

Select the layer iceman like shown below and go to Layer->Rasterize->Type (or right click on the layer and select rasterize type) and the result is shown in the second image below.(After the Rasterize Type)

Step 4:

This time duplicate the layer 3 times (Layer->Duplicate Layer or CTRL + J). Now you must have 4 iceman layers like shown below then hide the other 3 iceman layers by clicking the and keep the original one in action.(hide the 3 duplicate layers)

Step 5:
Now for this step go to Window->Animation and you can see the animation tab below(note: If you are using Adobe photoshop 7 or older you have to switch in Image Ready by clicking File->Edit in Image Ready or Shift+CTRL+M).Step 6:
In your toolbox select smudge tool, just right click the blur tool and the select smudge tool as shown below(Note: set the brush size to 20 px and set strength to 65%, can be found below the menu after you select smudge tool).
Step 7:
Using the smudge tool, smudge the edge of the iceman layer by click and drag from the edge of the layer to up, to create curve effect of the flame go to the left to right to have wave effect of the fire(Keep experimenting until you are satisfied you with your flame).

Step 8:
On the animation palette select the (duplicates selected frames) and it will like my animation palette below.

Step 9:

And on layer palette hide the iceman layer by clicking the eye image beside the layer and unhide the second layer name iceman copy by clicking again the eye image beside the layer.

Step 10:
Repeat steps 7 to 9 until you are finish with all the 4 iceman layers (note: Make your fire similar from the other layers to have an great effect). The result is like shown below.

Step 11:

Now you should have an effect like shown below(note: to play the animation click the ).(click to see it animate)

Step 12:
To make our effect like a fire we should put a color on it. Select the 4th animation palette like shown below and then go to the layers palette click the and choose color balance, a new palette will appear and check the Preserve Luminosity set the color levels to: midtones (+100)(0)(-100) then choose the highlights radio button and set the color levels to: (+65)(0)(-50) and then select the shadows and the color levels is: (+80)(0)(-80).(note: make experiments till you are satisfied.And now your layers palette will be like thisStep 13:
Set the delay time to 0.1 seconds to all the layers in our animation palette like shown below. And then select play button to play the animation to test it.Step 14:

Now for the final step lets save our image in .gif file to make it animate use the save for web not the traditional save as, To make it just simply go to File->Save for Web or ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+S and then click save and choose your destination folder on where you want to save the image and click save. Now go to the destination folder where you save the image and preview it and you have your Fire Text Animation.Enjoy....................(Click to animate)

Mozilla has announced the availability of the first Firefox 3.1 beta release, an important development milestone for the popular open source web browser. Mozilla aims to make Firefox 3.1 a strong incremental improvement with user interface enhancements, new features, and increased support for emerging web standards. The new beta release includes a modest handful of noteworthy changes that improve the user experience.

Test out the new DOM improvements, especially in regard to support for extensions to the DOM added by other browsers.
Add power to your web applications with JavaScript 1.8, included in Firefox 3.

Mozilla had originally planned to start code freeze for beta 1 in the middle of August, but decided to delay the beta release and do an additional alpha release instead.

The beta includes Mozilla's new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine, which uses tracing optimization to deliver a massive performance boost that makes it faster than Google Chrome's V8 engine. Although it still falls short of Apple's recent Squirrelfish Extreme project, the Mozilla developers say that TraceMonkey still leaves plenty of room for additional optimization.

Another major feature that is included in this release is Mozilla's new implementation of the W3C Geolocation Specification. It allows web applications to obtain information about the user's geographical location through a simple JavaScript API. In beta 1, this functionality is built on top of the Loki web service, which is supplied by Skyhook and determines the user's position by comparing local WiFi access points with information in its global reference database. For privacy reasons, the browser will automatically prompt the user before supplying a web site with geolocation data.

Several web sites already have basic support for the feature, including Yahoo's Fire Eagle and the Pownce microblogging service. We tested it with Outside.in Radar, a new web service that displays news headlines and other information about things that are near the user's current location. Earlier this month, Mozilla Labs also released the Geolocation Specification implementation as a Firefox 3.0 extension called Geode so that users and developers can start testing the functionality and incorporating support for the APIs into their web applications without having to use Firefox 3.1 prerelease versions.

The new beta release is available for download from Mozilla's web site and additional information can be found in the official release notes.

Photoshop Tutorial: Great Effects with 3D Text

This week we are going to learn a nice effect like this one using Adobe Photoshop.

Step 1:
Open your adobe photoshop with the large canvas, fill it with black background.

Step 2:
Make a nice 3D text effect that we study last week if you miss it just click here. Or just used a 3D tool software.
Step 3:
Just don't forget to rasterize the 3d text effect(right click the layer->rasterize) that you have made. Then, with the Magic Wand Tool select the face of the letters and cut that part.Step 4:
Make two copies of the layer(right click the layer->duplicate layer), and just hide the original layer or the last 3d text layer as shown in the screen shot below.
Step 5:
Next, create a new layer group(Just look for the folder icon in the bottom of the layer pallet), change the blending mode of this group to Color Dodge�. Create a new layer(shift+ctrl+alt+n or go to layer->New->layer) inside the group, And with the new layer Apply Filter -> Render -> Clouds. See screen shot below.
Step 6:

Create another group(Just look for the folder icon in the bottom of the layer pallet) below the first group that we created, Create a new layer inside this group add a nice light color with the use of gradient tool (in Radial Mode) use foreground to transparent presets of the gradient tool and draw a soft edge glow. Then set the layer blending mode to the Soft Light�.You are now able to see a nice effect.

Step 7:
Repeat step 6 with two other bright colors, but you must placed it differently. To give more great effects.This is the result after making the 3 layer and changing the blending mode to the soft lightStep 8:
Fot this step select the 3d text that you hide in step 4 unhide it. Then apply a Gaussian Blur of 15 pixel radius (Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur) or higher just adjust it until you are satisfied.Step 9:
Add a new layer in the first group that we created above the render clouds and on this layer choose a nice brush(I'm using a star brushset)you can download it at www.qbrushes.com. the name is rabies star brush and use white to trace around the inside face of each letters.

Step 10: Make a new layer between the two groups(put the new layer in the middle of the two groups). Then use Gradient Tool (Linear Mode), choose White(use foreground to transparent presets of the gradient), drag the Gradient tool from the bottom edges of the canvas to the middle of the canvas. Set the blending mode to Saturation.Step 11: Create another layer and put it in the first group or in the group 1�.Step 12: Then use custom brush tool brush just like what we did in Step 8 (remember, use WHITE).Step 13: Then for the last step. Create another layer on the top of the layer that we created in step10 then use a nice large custom cloud brush, and draw a single cloud above the text. Then Apply a Motion Blur (Filter -> Blur -> Motion Blur) with an Angle of of -15. and a distance of 250 pixels(or just experiment it until you are satisfied). Then Change the Opacity to 30%� and apply a gradient overlay with the following settings:And the final result.....

How to make advanced 3d in Photoshop

Description: In this tutorial I will show you how to create an advanced 3D text using only Photoshop CS2.

Step 1:

First start a new document, The size of the document depends on you on how big your text are going to be.

Step 2:

First go to type tool and type the word you want. In this tutorial I am using my alias ICEMAN. (note: the simple the font the better the result).

Step 3:

Now we need to convert the text so we can transform it, just simple go to Layer->Type->Convert to shape(or just go directly to the layer and right click->convert to shape).

Then to go Edit->transform->Perspective (or press ctrl-T and then right click then Perspective). Just transform until your satisfied with it.

Step 4:

Down CTRL+ALT press the Arrow Key(this duplicates the layer or CTRL+J) move the duplicate on what you want your 3d looks like, I'm move the duplicate in 1 pixel down and 1 pixel right. Do this until you are satisfied with the height of the text and after that, you will get something like this:

Step 5:

Now merge all the duplicate layer together, EXCEPT the top one and the background layer. The result will be like this.

Step 6:

Now apply the layer styles in the second layer (Layer->Layer Styles-> ... ) or just right click the layer and then go to blending options.

Gradient: Opacity 100%

Bevel and Emboss: depth 650%, direction up, size 5%, soften 16%, angle 120

Drop Shadow: opacity 100%, distance 19, spread 0, size 24

Step 7:

Now to the last step experiment on the top layer. I just use gradient then bevel and emboss. and the result is.

Hearts

Secret - Show All Cards
Instructions - Edit this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Hearts and create a new String value named ZB with a Data value of 42. Start Hearts and Press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F12 to show all the cards.

Background - This secret is a reference to Douglas Adams' book the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. 'ZB' is the initials of the character Zaphod Beeblebrox, the Galactic President. '42' is the answer to The Ultimate Question Of Life, the Universe and Everything.

Minesweeper

Secret - Reveal Mines
Instructions - Minimize or close all running applications. Launch Minesweeper, then type xyzzy. Next hold down either shift key for one second. Now when you move the mouse cursor over a Minesweeper square you will see a tiny white pixel in the top left corner of your desktop screen. This pixel will change to black when your mouse moves over a mine. You may need to change you desktop background to a solid color other then white or black to see the pixel.

Secret - Stop Timer
Instructions - Launch Minesweeper and start a game so the timer starts counting, then press the Windows Key + D to show the desktop. Now when you select minesweeper from the taskbar you can continue playing with the timer stopped.

Pinball

Secret - Extra Balls
Instructions - Type 1max at the start of a new ball to get extra balls.

Secret - Gravity Well
Instructions - Type gmax at the start of a new game to activate the Gravity Well.

Secret - Instant Promotion
Instructions - Type rmax at the start of a new game to go up in ranks.

Secret - Skill Shot
Instructions - Launch the ball partially up the chute past the third yellow light bar so it falls back down to get 75,000 points. There are six yellow light bars that are worth a varying amount of points:

First: 15,000 points
Second: 30,000 points
Third: 75,000 points
Fourth: 30,000 points
Fifth: 15,000 points
Sixth: 7,500 points

Secret - Test Mode
Instructions - Type hidden test at the start of a new ball to activate Test Mode. No notification will be given that this is activated but you can now left-click the mouse button and drag the ball around. While in test mode press the following keys for more secrets:

Secret - Unlimited Balls
Instructions - Type bmax at the start of a new ball. No notification will be given that this is activated but when a ball is lost a new ball will appear from the yellow wormhole indefinitely. Once this is activated you will be unable to activate other secrets without restarting the game.

Instructions - Press Alt + Shift + 2 during game play to instantly win.

Secret - Draw single cards in a Draw Three game

Secret - Hidden Uninstall Options
Instructions - Warning: Proceed at your own risk! Browse to C:\Windows\inf\ and make a backup copy of sysoc.inf. Then open the original file C:\Windows\inf\sysoc.inf in notepad. Go to "Edit" and select "Replace". In "Find what:" type ,hide and in "Replace with:" type , then select "Replace All", save and close the file. Go to the "Control Panel", "Add/Remove", select "Add/Remove Windows Components". You will now see many more Windows components to uninstall. Do not remove anything with no label or that you do not recognize or fully understand what it does. Doing so can break certain functionality in Windows.

Secret - Hidden Control Panel Extensions
Instructions - Download and install TweakUI, launch, go to "Control Panel" and check any item not selected, then "Apply" and "OK". You will now see the hidden control panel extensions.

Device Manager

Secret - Hidden Devices
Instructions - Go to the "Control Panel", "System" icon, "Hardware" tab and select "Device Manager". Select "View" and Show hidden devices.

Secret - Phantom Devices
Instructions - Go to "Start", "Programs", "Accessories" and select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" and press Enter. At the command prompt, type "start devmgmt.msc" and press Enter. Select "View" and Show hidden devices. You can see devices that are not connected to the computer. - Source

Notes - When you close the command prompt window, Windows clears the "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" variable that you set and prevents phantom devices from being displayed when you select "Show hidden devices".

Instructions - Browse to C:\Windows\Media and you will find 3 hidden MIDI files:

Notes - "MIDI" stands for "Musical Instrument Digital Interface" - A compression format for encoding music.

Instructions - Browse to C:\Windows\system32\oobe\images\title.wma and play.

Shutdown

Secret - Display Hibernate Option on the Shut Down dialog

Photoshop Secret's Revealed

I found some helpful tips to all photoshop lovers in one of my favorite blog.
Just want to share it, so here it is enjoy...........

1) If you hold down ALT+CTRL+SHIFT (Mac: CMD+OPT+SHIFT) while starting Photoshop you can reset all the Photoshop settings back to factory default. Very usefull if you have problems with some tools or the interface.

2) One of my favorites. ALT+Click on the “eye” icon in the layer’s palette to hide all other layers.

3) Do you have trouble to find the cursor when you work with large canvases?
Simply press the spacebar and you’ll see the hand icon where the cursor is located.

4) When you are applying a “drop shadow” layer effect, try to leave open the dialog box.
You’ll be able to move the shadow with a simple drag and drop.

5) With a CTRL+Click on the triangle icon you can collapse or expand all layer groups

6) Another cool shortcut. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E
(Mac: CMD+OPT+SHIFT+E) to paste all the visible layers in a new one.

7) When you are in a dialog box, try to hold ALT(Mac: OPT) to transform the “cancel” button into a “reset” button. It doesnt work everywhere.

8) If you want to transform a path into a selection you have to press CTRL+ENTER (Mac: CMD-ENTER).

9) CTRL+ALT+Z (Mac: CTRL+OPT+ Z) to undo more than once.

10) Double Click on the stage (the gray area) to open a file or CTRL+Double Click to create a new file.

11) If you hold SHIFT while you click “File -> close”, Photoshop will close all the open windows at the same time.

12) ALT+CLICK (Mac: OPT+Click) a tool to switch through the related tools. For example, try ALT+Click (Mac: OPT+Click) on the Paint bucket tool, you will obtain the gradient tool.

13) CTRL+Click on the new layer incon to create a new layer immediately below the current layer.

14) Whit SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+T (Mac: SHIFT+CMD+OPT+T) you can repeat and clone the last transformation (made with CTRL+T).

15) To find the center of a document select the background layer and click CTRL+T (Mac: CMD+T) to see a crosshair in the middle. Now you can simply drag out a guide in this point to find the center.

16) When you have a selection hold CTRL and use the arrows to move it, one pixel at a time.
Use CTRL+SHIFT to move the selection by 10×10 pixels. With CTRL+SHIFT+D (Mac: CMD+SHIFT+T) you can load the last selection used.

17) Choose CTRL+0 to “zoom to fit”, CTRL+ALT+0 to “zoom to 100%”.
If you prefer you can zoom back to 100% pressing the space bar and then right click -> actual pixels.

18) With the type tool active press CTRL+T (mAC: CMD+T) to show and hide the respective palette.
Press CTRL+H (Mac: CMD+H) while a text is selected to show and hide the selection.

19) If you are working with the paint bucket tool, hold down ALT(OPT) to switch temporarily to the eyedropper tool.

20) To draw a straight line with the brush tool click where you want, hold down shift and then click again where you want.
Instead, to draw a dotted line you have to open the brush palette (hit F5) and from the “Brush Tip Shape” tab you have to set the “spacing” to 150%.
After that you can repeat the previous step like a normal straight line.
