Target has a lot of fun, bright essentials on sale this week that are perfect for spring and summer. You can snag great deals on sneakers, slip-ons, bathing suits and more. I’m loving the playful, affordable selection of sale items so I just had to share my faves:

Canvas Slip On Sneakers, Sale, $12

These colorful canvas slip on sneakers are available in four bold shades: tangerine, mint, fuchsia and royal blue. They are easy to wear and pair well with a variety of casual styles. The shoes are a great choice for color blocking and they are perfectly vibrant.

Ruffle Bikini, Sale, $28

A selection of swimsuits are available this week for as low as $14 per piece. This ruffled version flatters small busts and is a steal at under $30. Also look out for pretty prints and geometric patterns at the same budget friendly price.

Easy Outfits Under $50 – Denim Top and Color Pop!

If you’re looking for a fun, easy, affordable spring outfit, try this casual idea – pair a lightweight denim button up with colorful jeans and canvas sneakers. It’s a comfy choice that’s simply stylish. The look is dressier than jeans and a tee, and it’s more playful. Wear to class, casual date night or to dinner with friends – you’ll look sophisticated and chic. The best part of the outfit below? It’s all under $50!

This chambray shirt features a loose fit and shirring in the back. If this isn’t quite your style their are dozens of options at the $20 price point. I’m loving these slightly cropped skinnies which are designed to hit just above the ankle. You can snag them in several shades including a rust red and mint green. You can also choose from peaches and purples in a variety of styles for the same price.

Casual Canvas Shoes, $5.46, Walmart

This basic canvas shoe can be decorated to your hearts delight with fabric markers for a unique look. You could also opt for a shoe in a color that contrasts or compliments your denim, a sportier converse style shoe or a boat shoe for a more preppy vibe. The canvas slip on below is also available in navy blue and is a steal, priced under $15.

With all the money you’ve saved, you’ll have some extra cash for an accessory. I personally love a bracelet with this look; cuff the sleeves of your shirt and add some bling. The fun bracelet below is from Forever21 and it’s the perfect mix of edgy at glam, all for only under $5!

Trend Alert: Galaxy Print Pieces

The solar system has been spotted recently on tops, leggings and more. Galaxy print pieces are popular now partly because of their whimsical feel and fun colors. Most popular on stretchy fabrics, you can find it on almost anything if you look hard enough. The star filled pattern will be big this spring and especially summer. If you’re looking for the perfect piece you can find plenty of affordable options at stores like Forever 21, A’Gaci, and GoJane. Here are some of my favorite budget friendly picks:

Celestial Tank, $14.50, A’Gaci

This pink/purple celestial tank features a flirty tulip back and a luminescent front, making sure you always shine. Pair with leggings, skinny jeans or cutoff shorts but definitely don’t mix it with a solar system piece. Done right, the print can be out of this world, but wear too much and you’ll fall into a black hole of fashion faux pas.

Galaxy Print Leggings, $19.50, A’Gaci

These light reflecting scuba style leggings are available in a turquoise/purple combo as pictured or a pink/purple combo for a less contrasting look. They are thick enough to wear as bottoms without looking tacky but you can also pair them with a long top or dress.

I absolutely love GoJane – they’re always on top of the trends, have great styles, a large collection and a variety of both everyday and edgy pieces. They love to push boundaries every now and again and to take fashion risks, usually with a great payoff. You can expect many of their tops, bottoms and dresses to be quirky but cute, unique and fun, but not everything is a hit. What do you think of their newer harlequin print pieces? Trend Alert: Denim and Denim Accent Dresses

Denim tops were big last spring and summer and they are still in style for 2013. You can find chambray shirts in a variety of shades at almost all of your favorite stores along with another denim trend that shares the same laid back country vibe – denim dresses. Denim dresses pair perfectly with relaxed shoe styles from sandals to canvas slip ons and of course cowboy boots. They’re predominately designed for daytime though some will have a more ‘evening’ edge. You’ll see a lot of all over denim but even more so, you’ll be seeing denim mixed with lace, chiffon and softer materials for a more feminine feel. These ‘ladylike’ denim dresses work well with flats, wedges, chunky heels and more. Another mixed denim dress trend is denim and faux leather paired together for a more rock and roll vibe. The selection of denim dresses at great prices is almost endless. There are so many options, each unique. You can be sure the perfect style is out there for you, whether you are girly or glam, sporty or spicy! Here are some of my favorites under $50.

L’Amour Nanette Lepore at JCPenney Collection Review

I feel that JCPenney is often overlooked as a fabulous place to buy affordable fashion in favor of other stores like Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. I can understand why the store doesn’t exactly stand out, it’s a department store after all, not focused entirely on fashion. However, the clothes the store does offer, particularly for young adults, are pretty much amazing. They offer a variety of designer collections and great prices but they lack the press that Target gets. One of the stores hottest new designer lines is L’Amour by Nanette Lepore. The New York based designer is known for her flirty, feminine pieces, bright prints and bold colors. The collection which bears her name is best described as youthful yet wearable by most and girly but not overly so. Nanette’s collection for JCPenney has the same trademark vibe but it’s priced hundred of dollars less with not a single piece retailing for over $40. The L’Amour collection is all about mixing neon colors with wardrobe staples. The sizeable selection includes eye popping dresses which pair perfectly with the black blazers she offers. Most pieces are available up to size 2X and are designed to flatter every figure. I’d recommend this collection for anyone looking to brighten up their wardrobe or score chic wearable pieces at affordable prices. Baby-doll Blouse, $20

This sleeveless baby-doll blouse features a cute collar, back cutout and a high-low design. It pairs perfectly with tights and heels or flats. I love the tangerine color and contrasting buttons.

Stars and Stripes Jeggings, $25

These rock star worthy pants are a unique take on stars and stripes. They feature this seasons trendy vertical stripes but lack their normal rigidity for a look that’s laid back and lots of fun.

Baby-doll Dress, $30

This colorful baby doll dress features a dreamy cloud like print that’s sure to steal the show wherever you go. Go crazy and add colored tights or tone the dress down with a black blazer.

This Weeks Top 5 Under $25

After scouring the web for the sweetest deals on the most fabulous styles, I came across several stand out pieces that were both affordable and absolutely amazing. Each and every piece was love at first sight for me, which items match your personal style?

Floral Print Sneakers, $20.99, Target

These floral print high tops had my little heart aflutter! The perfect casual shoe for spring, I love the color combo and fold over flowers. These shoes are a steal at $20.99 and if you’re into one of the other available colors you can snag them for as low as $14.99. I can see myself wearing them with short shorts and floaty skirts for an edgy cute/casual contrast. Though the floral trim is my favorite part of this standout sneaker, I’m also loving the little buckle on the back.

Candy Skull Leggings, $14.99, Love Culture

Call me crazy but I’m in love with these colorful candy skull leggings. They’re fun, vibrant and quirky, definitely a stand out wardrobe piece. I’d wear them with sneakers and a slouchy top but you can really go wild with these whacky tights – tuck into boots and wear with a dress, add a colorful top and a black blazer , pair with pumps, let your imagination decide.

Watch Charm Necklace, $20, JCPenney

I’ve seen a lot of non-traditional wearable watches lately and I’m thinking it might be a trend this season. Either way, I like the idea of watch on a necklace – it’s pretty and practical. I’m also a dog tag lover and have a thing for key charms so this necklace is a great pick for me. It’s also available in a burnished gold and a rose pink but I think the silver shade seen above is is the most versatile.

Satin Romper, $19.80, Forever 21

I love rompers for the same reasons I love dresses – they’re easy and breezy! Plus, you get both a top and bottom in one single piece. You can’t go wrong with this nicely accessorized neutral romper. The satin romper is under $20, so you’ll have plenty of extra cash for a belt, bangles and bold necklace. The loose fit of this particular romper can flatter any shape, cinching in the waist and draping nicely around hips and thighs.

Destroyed Denim Shorts, Sale, $14.99, Macy’s

I don’t like my shorts super short but I don’t always want to wear bermuda’s so I love the length of these destroyed denim shorts. They have a cool, casual vibe and will work well with sneakers, sandals and espadrilles. I like the laid back vibe of these ‘Indigo Rein’ shorts but I like the price even more. For President’s Day Weekend you can snag them for only $14.99 but they’re still affordable at their regular price of $24.99.

The Capsule 2.1 Collection At Forever 21

Forever 21 recently released Capsule 2.1, an edgy new line with a grungy rock and roll vibe. The collection brings back the distressed denim and deconstruction of the early nineties. You’ll find loads of Beetle-juice style stripes, studs and slouchy tops. The pieces are reminiscent of vintage Madonna fashions and we’re sure Rihanna would be a fan as well. Pieces are a bit pricier than you average Forever 21 fare, but you can still snag some great deals. Here are my top three favorites under $50:

Cut Out Dress, $49.80

This cutout a-line dress isn’t so much cut out as cut in half and held together by chains. It’s an edgy concept but so fun and flirty in this bold pink color.

Geo Print Bustier Top, $17.80

Though it’s paired with distressed denim on the Forever21 website, this geometric print bustier top is so versatile. Pair with jeans during the day or a high waisted skirt at night.

Stripped Chiffon Shirt, $19.80

Dramatic vertical stripes are so in style this season and if you’re looking to score the trend but avoid overdoing it, this half stripe chiffon shirt is a great option.

Prabal Gurung For Target Collection Review

Prabal Gurung for Target is one of the store’s most anticipated designer collaborations, and it’s finally here. The collection consists of 80 plus pieces, generally priced between $25 and $50 with a multitude of fantastic options under $40. Every item in the colorful collection is a steal with Prabal Gurang pieces often retailing for over $1000. If you’re a PG fan, the line won’t dissapoint with cool colorbocking, pretty prints and great shapes. You can choose from shoes, shirts, dresses, jewelry and more, all perfect for spring. Feminine and fun, I can’t get enough of the vivid colors and patterns, but there are some more subdued items in the collection as well if ultra bold pieces aren’t exactly your thing. This is a must shop collection for any die hard fashionista on a budget. It’s the best of both worlds – designer style at bargain prices. Everything is truly affordable and absolutely worth it. There are so many amazing items to choose from, but here are some of my personal faves:

Teal Coral Color Block Dress, $39.99

I love the fun colors and flirty shape of this color block dress It’s a flattering cut for most body types and creates the illusion of a slimmer waist with it’s vertical coral stripe. FYI, the black stripe isn’t a belt, it’s built in.

Printed Shirt Dress, $39.99

I’m loving the brush stroke-esque print on this floaty shirt dress. The ‘Nolita’ pattern is a popular one in the collection and I can see why – it’s the perfect blend of colors. The dress also features a faux leather collar and I can see it easily transitioning from day to night.

Blue Blouse, $34.99

I can’t get enough of the perfectly placed ruffles on this gorgeous ‘Dresden Blue’ blouse. I also adore the color and the contrasting collar/cuffs.

Floral Print Sweatshirt, $29.99

The psychedelic floral print makes this one of the chicest sweatshirts in the world. It’s a must have for any sportswear loving stylista and it is sure to get you noticed. If you love to stand out, snag this shirt now – already sold out online, you can find it in stores.

Lace Front Blouse, $34.99

Take a crisp white blouse, add lace and throw in some sulfur green – what have you got? A totally unique top! It’s slightly strange, but I kind of like it. It’s also available in a more ‘business-y’ black.
