BOISE, IDAHO — June 13, 2013 — Residents in 14 Idaho counties can estimate their 2013 property taxes by visiting the Idaho State Tax Commission’s website at tax.idaho.gov. New Idaho law allows property tax exemption for $100,000 in personal property value for businesses

BOISE, IDAHO — April 17, 2013 — Due to a new tax law (House Bill 315) that takes effect immediately, businesses can exempt the first $100,000 of their personal property value under one ownership in any county. Businesses with locations in more than one county in Idaho can exempt up to $100,000 of the personal property value in each county in which the property is located. (Read more)

Tax Commission Joins IRS in waiving late payment penalty due to delayed federal forms

BOISE, IDAHO — April 11, 2013 — The Idaho State Tax Commission will waive a late payment penalty for taxpayers who are unable to file on time because their income tax returns include federal forms that couldn’t be filed until after January. The Tax Commission joins the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in granting this conditional penalty relief. (Read more)

Save a stamp, drop off tax returns at Tax Commission’s curbside service April 15

BOISE, IDAHO — April 9, 2013 — Last-minute tax filers in the Boise area can drop off their state and federal income tax returns without getting out of their car. The Idaho State Tax Commission will offer its annual curbside service to taxpayers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15. The Tax Commission is located in Boise at 800 Park Blvd., Plaza IV (the Washington Group Plaza). Individual income tax returns and payments are due Monday, April 15 for both state and federal taxes. BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 29, 2013 — Idaho residents who don’t normally make enough money to file an income tax return can still get a refund of the grocery tax credit for 2012. The tax credit, which offsets the sales tax on groceries, is $90 for Idaho residents who are not required to file an income tax return, plus $90 for each of their dependents.
