JAH VINCI “IN MY LIFE” The Documentary Mix

Reggae/Dancehall artiste JAH VINCI has once again released his new mix CD titled “IN MY LIFE” The Documentary. The idea for this new mixed tape was generated after the raving reviews received on his first mix CD titled “BRAAWLING”, both locally and internationally. This mixed tape featured a more hardcore side of the artiste’s personality.

The Documentary, which is an audio version of the artiste’s life, will feature more soul searching songs like Mama Love, In My Life and new tracks such as All When, Mama don’t cry and Tower Of Strength Produce by Cashflow Records.

According to Manager Craige “Dallasign” Fullwood “Fans can expect some, if not all, questions about the artiste to be answered, as the MIX has inserts of the artiste’s interviews conducted by Marsha “lee lee” Stewart. The Mix is geared at giving fans an insight and a personal connection of the artiste’s life”. Due to the expectation of this Mixtape and to ensure the highest quality of material that the artiste so often delivers, the decision was taken to have The documentary crafted by the talented Shane “DJ Metro” Taylor who is also a part of his road management team.

JAH VINCI along with his Management team Tripledose Production/Outclear Movement has been working on several music videos which are set to be released soon. Videos Titled: “Mama Don’t Cry” (Social Yard Production) and “My Love” (Hapilos: Johnny Wonder) is said also to be released soon. Canada’s Dancehall act; Sampaloo recently returned from his home country Jamaica. The entertainer had put his music career aside as he prioritized family through the recent passing of his younger Sister and Father. While Sampaloo took his time to reorganize, his team had time to restructure their strategies and network to create a strong return for the artist.

Sampaloo being a respected community artist had the chance to perform at Montreal’s annual “Manchester Day” upon his return, in which he showed his fans that he is back and ready to work. His single “Journey” off of Tenament Yard’s Moonlight Riddim is still receiving great radio play worldwide, his fans and peers requesting that he put out a video.

During his time off, the artist was also able to record another song for Tenement Yard in which the release date is still pending. The song is a dedication to his sister and to those who have lost someone close. With that being said currently Sampaloo and his team are in the process of organizing an “Anti-Gun/Anti-Violence” campaign in remembrance of his Sister.

Sampaloo states “We haffi show the youth the right way. Too many left this world because of the gun, us as community Artists are the Role Models for the younger youths in our city and around the world. We can make an impact through our lyrics.”

The artist will team up with local organizations to be able to spread his message, hoping to be able to tour the schools in Montreal by the End of 2014.

Caldhino Releases Statement Regarding YouTube Promoter, Continues Pushing New Single “Rum Song”.

Kingston, Jamaica’s upcoming artist, Caldhino has been making his mark in the industry this year. 2013 has been a good year for him as he has taken home awards for Top New Entertainer of the Year and enjoys regular radio rotation on Jamaica’s top radio stations such as; HOT102 FM, ZIP103 FM, HITZ92FM, SUNCITY 104.9 FM,NEWSTALK 93 FM as well as on various stations across the world.

The artist made a connection with a popular “YouTube Promoter” within the last couple of months which led him to sign a recording agreement for a production the YouTube Promoter was releasing. The song was later released as an unfinished product on YouTube. The unreleased track being the demo he recorded for the young producer as Caldhino waited for the studio and harmonizing fees that were agreed to be paid in the Recording Agreement. Caldhino felt his only option was to terminate the agreement and he made the decision to not release his song on the riddim. The song was then released again after the agreement was terminated.
That being said, the artist stands his ground and continues pushing despite the minor setback.

The 24 year old DJ continues promoting his newest release “Rum Song” off of Partyholic Riddim which also features Ding Dong, Stacious, Kari Jess, D’Vercity and G Whizz. A music video for his last hit “Street Struggles” will soon be released.

CAPLETON & TEFLON SHOOTS VIDEO FOR NEW COLLAB

As his momentum continues to grow on the local scene following the release of several inspiring new singles, reggae recording artist Teflon last week kicked it up a notch while filming on the set of his "Same Struggle" video shot which features the "fyah man" Capleton.

The video which was directed by Icey Jace Film Factory was shot on location in Kingston and will see both Capleton and Teflon playing the roles of narrators for a host of historical scenes which depict the sufferation of different races from across the world.

According to Teflon the song was recorded over a year ago but is now being re-released and promoted. "Same Struggle is a song myself and Shango did awhile back but the purpose of doing the video in 2013 is to give it the promotion it deserved. The song is very relevant and the aim is to as always motivate the people to uplift themselves and never give up".

The video which is due out late August, early September will be Teflon's fourth official video from the start of the year having shot visuals for "Talk As It Is", "Harder" and more recently "Love & Adore You" which will be premiered later this week.

Every once in awhile comes an artist with enough charisma, talent and tact that it is hard not to pay attention to. You’ve heard of newcomers as such including Chronixx, Protégé and Kabaka Pyramid, all hailing from Jamaica. Coming out of the island of Trinidad we introduce to you, Matthew Greenidge, a young rising star that is set to take the world by storm. Chanting reggae music from a tender age he has worked on his craft and ready to display a talent that is unique, words that are full of power and a conviction to stand for what is right despite the trials.

In 2011, he embarked on his musical journey professionally, linking up with some of the top studios in Trinidad including Studio 53, Pengco Music and JahLight Records. It was the latter, however, that took a special interest in the artist, introducing his music to the world for the first time with an excellent tribute to the King of Reggae, entitled, Bob Marley, in early 2013. This was followed by a beautiful love song for the ladies entitled, ‘Your Loving,’ by Pengco Music.

With a vision in mind, JahLight Records hesitated not in introducing to the artist the grand idea of working on an official debut album. So currently Matthew Greenidge and the team are hard at work putting the finishing touches on his album which is said to be coming along very good thus far. Already a 1st single is being put in place by the name of ‘He Loves Forever’ and an official Promo Video for the album. There are also talks of him working on collaboration with International Reggae star, Queen Omega.

‘The plan is to put out a solid twelve (12) track reggae album with at least two or three features backed by some good promotion. I’m excited about working with this young artist as Matthew Greenidge has proved that he is a very humble and competent individual. We really believe that he has what it takes to make a great addition to the Reggae music fraternity, musically and as an individual. He is really giving this album his all and that has really blessed our hearts. We know this album will also be a tremendous blessing to others that hear it as it is set to have a strong message throughout,’ said JahLight Records’ manager, Akeunde Pemberton.

Slated to be completed soon the label hopes to release this work of art in some months to follow. So sit up, pay attention and look on as the reggae music world is about to be moved with the power of song, coming from the heart of a son of righteousness named Matthew Greenidge.

MIRIAM SIMONE’s “DEM A CHAT” REIGNS AT NUMBER ONE ON SURINAM CHART

RISING FROM NEW YORK’S UNDERGROUND TO CARIBBEAN MAINSTREAM

For several years now New York’s underground have become increasingly familiar with the popular mixtapes of a rising sensation named Yung Image. Remixing popular tracks such as Laza Morgan’s – “One By One”, Lady Gaga's, "Bad Romance" and Drake's "Light it Up".

Born in the Caribbean island of Grenada, Yung Image (Brendon Baptiste) migrated to the United States to live with his mother and brothers. Through his love for music he found a common ground with his new environment. He quickly gravitated towards artistes such as the late Notorious B.I.G, 2 Pac Shakur, Jay Z, Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre, adapting Hip-hop and mixing it with his Caribbean sound.

In 2012 Yung Image teamed up with producer Jude Robertson (JRE), of Ghost Town Music. They instantly became an awesome duo, releasing several songs including a gritty Dancehall/ Hip-hop track called "All Black Everything", on the Secret Society riddim. In May, 2013 Yung Image scored 6th position on the IFE TOP 10 Chart, marginally behind Tarrus Riley’s – “Gimmi Likkle One Drop”, I Octane’s – “Gal a Gimme Bun” and Alicia Keys’ – “Fire We Make”. Montreal may have not yet been named Canada’s new Reggae Music Capital but the city located in the primarily French province of Canada has been known to bread great Reggae talents since the late 1970’s, also celebrating 10 years this summer of hosting the country’s largest International Reggae Festival.

The Reggae scene in Montreal has been held down by great Reggae acts such as Jah Cutta, Mello G and 2008’s Juno winner Mikey Dangerous for quite some time, followed by quality producers like Subsonik (Dub Avenue) Records, Tim Dub and Dan Fiyah Beats. Currently while they still hold down our city, Dancehall artist Sampaloo made his International claim to fame last year with songs “Nah Run, Nuh Hide” and “Roll Out” amongst Reggae artists like Dan Fiyah Beats, Marky Lyrical, King Mee and Prophecy Izis who also reached the International market. With that being said, Marky Lyrical has stayed at the top of the charts on Canada’s Rebel Vibez program for the last couple of weeks creating a great buzz for the Montreal Reggae scene.

March 30th that passed, artist Sampaloo hosted his annual “Welcome to Montreal” featuring 14 Reggae and Dancehall acts from around Canada, 10 being from the city of Montreal. The crowd reached to 300 at its prime time, with 6 different Media outlets, including the Montreal Gazette, to support Montreal urban talent, which is something the artists have not seen in almost 5 years.

Sampaloo continues representing for Montreal, releasing his new Reggae hit off Internationally known label “Tenement Yard Records” new riddim “Moonlight”, the song is titled: Journey a.k.a Life.

Reggae recording artist Chrisinti has finally released the long awaited video for his latest single entitled “Heart Of A Champion” which recently charted on the South Florida Top 25 Reggae Chart as well as the Foundation Radio/New York Top 30 Music Chart (peaked at number one). Produced by Mightyful13 Records "Heart Of A Champion" is distributed by VP records.

Despite the extraordinary response to the new song Chrisinti remains humble, “the aim is to release timeless music and which will keep the fans captivated so a lot of time and thought went into this record as well as every Chrisinti record so I am humbled by the overwhelming success of the record but I am not surprised” stated Chrisinti.
