Idea:

If there is a blank behind a word, it is also selected when double-clicking the word.A <CTRL> + <C> then copies this space character as well. This may lead to errors when the string is pasted somewhere.

I would like to select the word only, like the subject field in my mail form does.

Domino Designer / : Provide pseudo authentication for local preview

Idea:

While developing XPages or Web application in designer, we cannot test applications for authenticated users. We need a server footprint for testing those applications.

Local HTTP preview process has to be modified to support some kind of authentication (it may even be a text file for test users).

This improvement would be extremely useful for developers using free Designer to learn XPages.

Traveler / : Traveler device administration. It should be easier to remove invalid devices.

Hi Folks,

don't you think it should be made easier to remove device records from the traveler server?

at the moment it is necessary to manually send these commands to the domino console:

tell traveler delete "<deviceID>" "CN=..../OU=.../O=.../C=..."

tell traveler security delete "<deviceID>" "CN=..../OU=.../O=.../C=..."

There must be an easier way...

not add names from my Domino Domain (Domino Directory) and address books in the Directory Assistance from emails I send & receive

This values setting as check box and not as radio button. Allow to set these values via desktop policies.

It's great that we have a multi-level undo function in Notes 8.5 client, but why don't we have a redo function?

Wouldn't it be nice if CTRL + Y worked as well as CTRL + Z?

(Makes you wonder why this feature has never been there!)

With regard to the legislation of any countries, it would be beneficial if the Lotus Notes support Internet certificates SHA-2.

Without support Internet certificates SHA-2 is not possible to meet the legislative requirements for electronic signature in any countries.

In order to reduce the number of certifiers we have to manage, I would like to be able to use just the organizational certifier and use unique org unit to specify a geographic location at registration.

If a unique org unit could be set at registration with explicit policy, we could register everyone with the one organizational certifier and immensely reduce the work in managing our certificates. Being able to set the unique org unit will still allow us to create distinct organizational policies that we can apply based on the unique org units but only manage the one certifier.

When i receive a connections notification in my mail whatever is the device i use, the url send me to a Web UI which is almost unusable with a mobile, despite there is a mobile URL available.

Could we have an automatic redirection to the same content but with the mobile URL when the link is used from a mobile ?

The same could apply to any content referenced in a connections content. If this is a Web url content reference it should be translated to the same content but with the mobile url.

Add instant notifications to the Connections App (use native infrastructure, like the Sametime App does) to notify the user of statusupdates of people I follow, reply's on my board, posts in my community. And in the future of mentions I get or retweets of my statusupdate in my networks.

This will engage the user and make it for more realtime responsiveness of the userbase.

The use of mentioning in microblogging/statusupdates, much like twitter and facebook now implement. So @mention will cause to trigger a notification for the receiving user. The message can be put in his/her updatestream and/or given an e-mail notification and/or a inscreen popup and/or mobile notification.

This way you can respond and engage other people that might not follow you in a discusion on your own board.

Hi all,

I would like to see a possibility to reopen recently closed tabs, just like in Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc...

Should, from my point of view, be a breeze to implement as most tabs are pointing to saved documents anyway. If unsaved data resided in the closed tab the notes client had previously warned the user that data would be lost (normal save on exit prompt). So opening a new document based on the previous form should suffice.

I could really use the ability to track users' tracks through applications in more of an activity track. It seems like this is becoming more of a user-oriented feature, but I'd even like it just administering an application. The Domino log gets unwieldy extremely fast with all this data.

I'm sure that for users the support would need to extend beyond the log purge cycle, too.

It'd probably have to come with some improved security features as well. Maybe even reducing the detail of an activity as a user gets less and less access.

Domino Designer / : "Build Automatically" and "Clean"

I don't fully understand what "Build Automatically" and "Clean" do (Project menu of Domino Designer), but without Build Automatically dependency compile is broken, and Clean is sometimes necessary when things go pear shaped.

I'd like to see this area "cleaned up", pardon the pun, and also have Designer automatically update inherited design elements in the current workspace or working set. This is important to me because I have a set of core script libraries which I maintain in a master database and push down to other designs manually and repetitively while I have the developer hat on. I suspect many others work this way too.

Is there a better way to manage 'core' script libraries? I've always dreamed of being able to reference them from any database rather than pushing (inheriting) them around. SCT is nice but only works for a whole database - you can't reference individual design elements from an Single Copy Template. If it were possible.... but it's probably tough to implement and I suspect Lotus don't want to get anywhere near SCT :)

It would be handy if in any mail view (inbox, all documents, ...) clicking on the reply/forward icon (by default at the right hand side of the view, see screenshot) would open the replied/forwarded mail.

It would be an other way to go through a conversation and rather intuitive.
