Idea:

Mostly for internal use rather than the "external" site. It would be nice to attach documents to an idea for comment and vote. This would greatly increase the power.

Idea:

It would be nice to have an out-of-box landing page to all the available IdeaJam sites for our organization. I would think it could work similar to how the Quickr landing page works.

Ideally users would only see the sites they have access to and I would even be ok with having to fill out configuration documents with readers fields in order for the sites to show in the landing page.

The recent versions (6 onwards) of Notes client have provided presence awareness and the ability to start instant message sessions by right clicking on an email or entry in the NAB etc. It would be useful to be able to open the person's calendar in the same way. That is to say by right clicking on an email in my inbox I get the option to open the senders calendar. See my mocked up menu in image.

Connections / : Extend field limits of forms for 4byte unicode characters (e.g. Russian).

To improve interoperability between design elements I would like to see LotusScript able to get a handle on ALL open databases, views, and/or document. Not just the the ONE view/document open in the active window.

This could be achived by adding properties to the NotesUIWorkSpace and NotesUIDatabase classes as follows:-

NotesUIWorkspace.OpenDatabases - Returns and array of NotesUIDatabase (all databases open in workspace)

NotesUIWorkspace.OpenViews - Returns and array of NotesUIView (all views open in workspace)

NotesUIWorkspace.OpenDocuments - Return and array of NotesUIDocument (all documents open in workspace)

NotesUIDatabase.OpenViews - Return and array of NotesUIView (all views open in workspace for this database)

NotesUIDatabase.OpenDocument - Return and array of NotesUIDocument (all documents open in workspace for this database)

LinkJam / : Specify favorite when entering link

When you introduced the favorite links it sounds like good idea to specify that link is favorite when I'm entering it in. Right now I could add a new link, return to linkJam and specify that it is the favorite one.

My apologies if this has already been posted.

I wish we could (and if we can now, I'd be happy to be corrected!) have a document hierarchy, but select in a view construction where to start in the hierarchy.

In other words.....I have an application

where each layer is a response to the previous layer. Now, if I want to show documents in a hierarchy, I can't simply say "form=Task & @allchildren". I can only show the document hierarchy if I start at the top of the hierarchy.

Notes Client / Mail: Choice of address books before Ctrl+Brking a server NAB

If you're on a slow link, it can take a long time to bring up a NAB when you hit the underlined To in the address block. ND8 basic (I haven't yet tested this exhaustively for versions). If you hit Ctrl+Break, it will then try to carry on regardless, once you've killed the error box. If you hit Ctrl+Break again, it will error out.

What I'd like to see is that it traps the Ctrl+Break, or the network interrupt engendered by it, and offers you a choice of your other NABs with which to continue, ie, your local NAB.

Especially useful for those (admittedly probably yellowbleeders) whose peronal mail is on a non-work Domino server.

Sametime / Administration: Sametime Policies in Notes 8.0

Notes 8.0 needs to have Sametime setup policies. Currently there is not a way to migrate over exisiting Notes 6.5 / 7.0 Sametime configurations nore are there any Sametime policies that can be assigned to Notes 8.0 users to accomplish this.

In Notes 8, 'Open in New Window' only works for documents. In previous releases, you could open views. I really miss that capability.

Example: I have a block (copied from Ben L.) that talks about "what if my idea already exists?". I only want that to appear when the user is logged in. Otherwise, I do not want to take up screen real estate.

Consider adding a block of text to control panel that only appears if logged in.

Oh wouldn't it be wonderfull if we had the design docs for the standard applications like Resource reservations, with all the flows and such. I have tried to modify that database and it is hard with my somewhat limited skills.

So, or I am more limited then I thought, or it is built a lot complexer then I thought.

I am hoping for the second option.

Anyway, I think it would be a very usefull thing to have. Not only will it help us modify these apps, but it would also be a usefull source of "Oh, THAT's how they do it!" moments.

Want to learn high level Notes programming? Read the design docs.

What do you think?

Notes Client / Calendar: Make it easier to find draft meetings

This is ND8 in 2008. You have a draft folder for mail which is great. Save a meeting or appointment as a draft and then try and recall it. The calendar Lists views do not sort by icon type (requires a customization to achieve).

Why is this basic capability missing? Draft calendar entries do not appear in the mail Draft folder--nor should they. They do appear in All Documents, which does not help unless you can recall text in the draft message for searching. If one lightly uses their calendar, sure they can find it. Use it a lot--come back in a couple of days or after your vacation and the drafts get buried. Unless I am missing something, this is an easy win Lotus.

When you lock your client in version 8 there is no possibility to switch to another ID as was in previous versions. There is quite a lot of companies who has a shared computer where Notes runs constantly and just switching IDs instead of whole OS identity.

for ajaxian approaches it is not desired that agent print out by default html as you can see in the attached image. it would be nice if you could check a box which makes sure that web agents do not cast out more than you desire.
