Currently, the Admin client Database Users view, when sorted by database, shows all the users for any given db, but as it's not collapsible, it's quite a pain to troll through lookng for the one database you care about

Idea:

The screenshot shows exactly what I mean. If you have a hotspot which is not the actual URL itself, it's difficult to retrieve the URL . This is for the Notes client. In iNotes, the browser handles it with a 'copy link' in the context menu.

Hi,

My idea is a WYSIWYG Editor modul which helps to manipulate OneUI themes. The user can see a sample page of the OneUI theme, where he can click on an object, this opens the object properties and other elemnets. Then he can change them. Of course the sample is changing also. eg: he clicks on the header, then he can see the company logo, background, etc. He changes the bgcolor, and uploads a new logo.

When the editing is finished, he can save it as anew theme and upload to the server. The editor should be able to list and view all existing themes, copy and delete them, distribute themes across servers (in a distributes environment), etc.

Description by example:

I'm particularly interested in Agents at the moment but this is relevant to other design elements. I have multiple agents open in designer which I'm coding/debugging. Each time I want to run one I have to locate it in the agent list in each application's Application Tree, which is constantly moving and hard to keep organised because I'm working on elements in multiple databases, lots of scrolling etc. That huge tree is brute force at it's best.

It would be immensely useful if each agent editor tab, when right-clicked, show agent actions such as "Run Agent", "Test Agent", "View Profile Results" etc. along with the generic "Close all tabs", "Close All other Tabs" etc, actions.

A recurent feedback we have is that the users (and also most of the advanced users I know) are lost as soon as they reach the File > Preferences menu in their Notes client.

I know that most of the preferences can be controlled (and eventually locked) by policy but the option is still displayed in the preferences.

Would it be possible to add a new option to manage the user preferences that would allow an admin to hide some preferences.

Today we can enforce, set a default value... why not adding another properties that would also hide the value from the UI ?

This would improve the user's perception of the Notes client and allow to display in a readable way only the most important preferences

For convenience, a toolbar widget with a simple text box and server drop-down to send commands to the server console, so that a user with console access can more easily send console commanda without having the full Admin client or Domino Console app running.

Issuing a command would open a small modal window and open a console session with the command ready to go, all one needs to do is click send (ie for safety, two clicks are required to issue the command).

One can then wait for a response and manually close the window.

In Notes 9 there will be a notes plugin for web browser available.

This plugin opens any notes database inside a browser window with all the notes client functionality.

There are many situations where the notes plugin could be the better choice, then using the notes client.

First example:

In a company where most of the applications are browserbased, the users have no other client to use for access few notes databases.

Second example:

A company would like to migrate form notes client to browser based notes application.

Using the notes browser plugin switching from notes client to browser can be done before the last template is extended with xpage capability.

Unfortunately the notes plugin on the client must be configured for the user (userid, names.nsf, notes.ini)

I do not understand why.

When i access a notes server with a web browser, i'm authenticated.

The server knows my notes name, he knows where is my mail database and so on.

So, IBM should adapt the notes plugin, so it does not have be configured.

This might sound like a slightly off-beat idea, however I wonder how many coders would find it useful to be able to trigger a script whenever a design element is updated in designer.

In my case, I'd like to trigger a a design 'push' because I have engineered my environment with much stricter control over design element inheritence than is possible with normal design template / element inheritence. I currently have to trigger the process manually.

Other potential uses for this could be to keep a DXL snapshot of changed elements and be able to Undo or go back to a specific snapshot.

Hi,

To provide more security Traveler should be able to use personal or device certificate for authentication (without VPN client). As the browser can use a certificate copied to the device, Traveler should be able also. In the Traveler setting there should be a preference where the user can select a certificate file for authentication.

background: In my real life customer setup, the device has it's own cert file (created by the IT dep) and this is used to authenticate into the network. Then the user can authenticate with his own password with the Traveler server. But we need VPN client. The customer asked for a solution to remove it.

If I'm in a subroutine or function and I need to go into a different one to check something, I'd like the ability to return to the line I was at just before I jumped out. If I select a different sub or func, the cursor goes to the top of that sub / func. If I select the one I was previously in, I go to the top of that one as well and I have to scroll until I find where I was.

To work around this problem, I put a random character near the line I'm in before jumping out of it. That places a link into the Errors column so when I return, I just click on the red dash and I get back to where I was.

It would be nice to have a Back button which return me to the previous line I was at regardless of whether it's in the same func / sub or not. I see that there's a button labeled "Last Edit Location" but that doesn't seem to do anything and I'm not sure that it's designed to do what I want anyway.

Currently marking mails read/unread is rather slow in iNotes. It is fast in Notes via the INSERT button.

Maybe in iNotes you could have a behaviour similar to other web mail client (outlook.com e.g. if I may name it...) where you click an icon on the mail itself. It could be done via the first column in iNotes 9.0 which would make it intuitive IMHO (see screenshot).

I'd be 90% more likely to actually vote on an idea if the links from the IdeaJam Activity Summary actually logged me into the site. If I have to go and dig out my login details, most of the time I just don't bother.

I suggest to add a new property to the NotesDatabase object to store version (application version eg.: 2.13.04 ) info. I think everybody used a "v.2.3" kind of extension in the title or in the About Document.

If a version property would be added to the database it can be checked from code or in the Administrator client or in the Catalog. It can be used as replication condítion also.

NotesDatabase.Version, 3 byte

SetMajorNumber to set the first digit

SetMinorNumber to set the second digit

SetMaintenanceNumber to set third digit

Present it in the Catalog, Administrator/Files tab, Property dialog, etc

Predominantly for table column widths, but I'd like to see all design element widths based upon a formula

I realise it couldn't be done for Views (after all, which document's fields would you use?) but for tables, it would be nice to expand or reduce a column width based upon a known field value
