Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your name?
– Where are you from?
– Do you like wild animals?
– Have you ever seen wild animals in real life?
– Do you prefer seeing animals in zoos or in the wild?
– Why do you think people are interested in wild animals?
– Do you like eating ice cream?
– What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
– How often do you eat ice cream?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe a movie you recently watched. You should say:

– what the movie was
– where and when you watched it
– what it was about

and explain why you liked or disliked this movie.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– How has the movie industry changed in recent years?
– Why are films so popular around the world?
– Do you think actors are paid too much money?
– What factors influence how much actors earn?
– How does the movie industry contribute to a country’s economy?
– Do you think money is the most important factor in making a successful film?

IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

The system used for rubbish collection in your local area is not working properly, and this is causing problems for residents.

Write a letter to your local council. In your letter:

– Describe the problem with the rubbish collection system
– Explain how this is affecting you and your neighbours
– Suggest what should be done to improve the situation

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that students should do their homework independently, while others think that parents should help their children with homework.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You have recently joined a sports training program and would like to tell your friend about it. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:

– explain what the training program is
– describe why you think it is beneficial
– persuade your friend to join the program as well

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people prefer staying in hotels when they travel, while others prefer renting holiday homes for a short period of time. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Some schools make physical education compulsory for students. Do you think it is important for schools to require physical activities? Are some types of physical activities more beneficial than others?

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your hometown famous for?
– Does your hometown have an interesting history?
– Are there any historical buildings or landmarks there?

– Do you think it is important to know your hometown’s history?

Describe a time when you had to fix something. You should say:
