Today, more than ever, deals are made at the dining table. If you are not comfortable doing business over a meal, you may be losing business. Business dining is about – business. Don’t get confused about why you are there.
The place setting, Think of a BMW automobile when you sit down at a dining table. From left to right, “B” is your bread, “M” is your meal and “W” is your water or drink. The bread plate is always to your left and drinks are always to your right. Wait until everyone has been served before you start eating. Silverware is used the furthest from your plate to closest to your plate – corresponding with the meal courses, first to last. Your silverware never hangs off the plate like a pair of rowing oars. When you are finished eating, your cutlery is in the 6 / 12 position and when resting during the meal your cutlery is placed open, in a fan shaped placement. The sharp edge of your knife is always facing inward. Your napkin is not set back onto the table until you have finished dining. If you excuse yourself during the meal, place your napkin on your chair, not on the table. Cut your food one bite at a time. Do not cut up all your food before you begin eating. Chew and eat with your mouth closed. Do not turn your coffee / tea cup over if you do not want any; just say “no thanks.” Apply lipstick in the restroom, not at the table. Do not use a toothpick at the table. Push your chair in when you leave the table at the end of the meal. Foods to avoid in restaurants: long pasta, carbonated beverages, garlic, onions, ribs, chicken legs/wings and finger food. If you plan on paying for the meal, arrive early and give the waiter your credit card to imprint prior to your c lient arriving. Establish rapport with the restaurant staff and remember that your behavior always reflects on your personally and professionally.
1.International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining1.Workshop on International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining –Beginners and Advanced

The difference between success and failure is not nearly as great
as many people believe. The difference between the two is often
quite slim.

Success is a matter of understanding and implementing specific habits
that always lead to success.

A successful life is a result of many successful years; a successful year
is a result of many successful months and a successful month is a result
of many successful days. Each and every day that you do your best adds
up to a great month, a great year and eventually a great life.

The quickest route to success in any field of endeavor is to seek the
company of people that have great wisdom and a proven track record.

The power of your mind and what you choose to focus on, creates your
reality. A good way to start getting more of what you want is to imagine
that you already have it. When you are ready for something, it usually
appears. The more positive your belief system is, the greater your ability
is to control your destiny.

To achieve positive, consistent results, practice the habit of an expansive
mental paradigm. Consider unconventional ways to accomplish your desires and dreams.

Yes, it is a competitive world we live in. When I started my career as
an image, etiquette and communication consultant, I was working full
time as a floral designer. I commuted 100 miles round trip daily. I was
also teaching three evening a week at the college. After two years of
working three jobs, I was able to replace my income from my day job
as a floral designer and I then focused my days and evenings on my
passion for consulting. Today, I have the honor and privilege of being
the global consultant of choice. I was a small town girl with a world-class
dream. An instant, overnight success that took twenty years of dedication
to achieve my desired outcome. The rewards have been greater than I could
ever have imagined.

Focus on your passion and live the life of your dreams! Get up, dress up
and show up. Create the life of your dreams.
1.International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining1.Workshop on International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining –Beginners and Advanced

Whether in a restaurant or in a home, here are some basic table manners to teach kids:

1. Eat with a fork unless the food is meant to be eaten with fingers. Only babies eat with fingers.

2. Sit up and do not hunch over your plate; wrists or forearms can rest on the table, or hands on lap. You don't want to look like a Neanderthal.

3. Don't stuff your mouth full of food, it looks gross, and you could choke.

4. Chew with your mouth closed. No one wants to be grossed out seeing food being chewed up or hearing it being chomped on. This includes no talking with your mouth full.

5. Don't make any rude comments about any food being served. It will hurt someone's feelings.

6. Always say thank you when served something. Shows appreciation.

7. If the meal is not buffet style, then wait until everyone is served before eating. It shows consideration.

8. Eat slowly and don't gobble up the food. Someone took a long time to prepare the food, enjoy it slowly. Slowly means to wait about 5 seconds after swallowing before getting another forkful.

9. When eating rolls, tear off a piece of bread before buttering. Eating a whole piece of bread looks tacky.

10. Don't reach over someone's plate for something. Politely ask that the item to be passed to you. Shows consideration.

11. Do not pick anything out of your teeth, it's gross. If it bothers you that bad, excuse yourself and go to the restroom to pick.

12. Always use a napkin to dab your mouth, which should be on your lap when not in use. Remember, dab your mouth only. Do not wipe your face or blow your nose with a napkin, both are gross. Excuse yourself from the table and go the restroom to do those things.

13. When eating at someone's home or a guest of someone at a restaurant, always thank the host and tell them how much you enjoyed it. At least say that you liked the dinner or mention a specific item that was particularly tasty, i.e. the dessert was great. Again, someone took time, energy, and expense to prepare the food, so show your appreciation.
1.International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining1.Workshop on International Business Etiquette and Fine Dining –Beginners and Advanced

==================

Eating in an Indian society can be a good experience if you know some of its popular table manners, which might appear strange but have their own significance. Like any other country, India also has some do’s and don’t that one should follow while eating in a social group and one insignificant mistake can make you feel embarrassed or label you as unmannerly and discourteous.

-------------------------------------
Table Manners & Etiquettes in India
-------------------------------------

* Traditionally, Indian food is served on a rug on the floor and people are supposed to sit in a circle. In case you are using a table, let the eldest person sit first. The host is supposed to sit in a direction from where he can see everyone around him.

* When everyone is seated, wait for the food to be served. You should not chatter unnecessarily with the people around you.

* Indian tradition does not emphasize on the use of cutlery which are considered to be a part of western culture, such as fork and knife. Indian food such as curries and gravies are enjoyed best when eaten with hands.

* Wash hands properly before starting as much of the food is eaten with hands, even if you are using basic cutleries such as spoon and fork.

* Wait for the eldest to start first. Even if you are starving don’t attack the food or east hastily. It is considered disrespectful and a bad manner.

* You are not expected to use your left hand while eating. Even breads and chapattis are broken into pieces using the right hand alone. But you are supposed to transfer food from the common plate using your clean left hand.

* In north India it is not acceptable to stain your hands with gravies or curries, only fingertips it used to pick and gather food. However, in south India, you can take liberty to dip your hand up to your palms.

* Don’t flood your plate with food. You don’t have to taste each and every dish served. Finish your whole food before asking for more. Wasting food is considered disrespect to the host and the food.

* Once you have finished your food, don’t leave the table until the host asks you to. If you have to leave the table, ask for the permission from the people before leaving.

* Don’t wash your hands in your plate or on the bay leaf and you are not expected to close the bay leaf- if you are in south India. Use a finger bowl (lemon and water) to wash your greasy hands.

* You are expected to say polite terms like ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ as a courtesy towards your host.

Formal
Tuxedo, white tuxedo dress shirt, studs and cuff links. Black socks and tuxedo/dress shoes.

Business Formal
Matching dark suit, long sleeved, white dress shirt, black belt, shoes and socks. A great, power tie. Cuff links always get the vote of approval from women.

Business Every Day
Dress trousers, executive length socks, long sleeved dress shirt in white, blue or striped and a great tie. Dress shoes (lace up) and belt in back or maroon. Keep a jacket and tie handy to wear to meetings.

Business Casual
Dress trousers or khaki trousers. Dress shirt (colored or striped) and tie or open neck dress shirt. Socks, shoes (slip on) and matching belt.

Resort Wear
Golf shirt and shorts, long trousers, short sleeved dress shirt and deck shoes or upscale sport shoes and white socks.

A Few More Details:
Light on the cologne, clean-shaven appeals to more people. Dress socks mean executive length to the calf of the leg. Ties: the correct length is to have the tie end at the bottom of your belt buckle. Dress Shirts: wear one day only and then send out to be laundered and pressed.

Suits: dry clean trousers and jackets together.

Shoes and Belt: If you have blac k or gray hair, black shoes and belt are perfect. If you have brown hair you can wear a brown belt and shoes in addition to black. T-shirt under your dress shirt should have a V-neck line not a rounded neckline.

Quality: purchase the highest quality you can afford. Buy fewer items of better quality and dress to conquer the world each and every day. Men’s Grooming Tips: clean-shaven, use a nose and ear trimmer and make sure no back or chest hair is showing above or through your dress shirt.

Impeccable Women’s Dress for Success

Formal
Long dress or skirt/top combination. Sleeved and not showing inappropriate cleavage. People from Asia and Saudi will be offended at over-exposure.

Business Formal
Dark, matched suit, crisp white or colored blouse. Dress shoes (heels) and stockings.
Select the traditional business colors of black or navy and then depending on your business culture you may add camel, dark brown or red in your suits. Select wrinkle free fabrics.

Business Every Day
Fashionable, colored suits, dress, jacket and trousers. A jacket always ad ds to visual authority. Closed toe dress shoes.

Business Casual
Day dress with sleeves. Skirt and sweater set. Trousers and blouse or sweater set.
Dress sandals, trouser shoe or sling back shoes.

Resort Wear
Skirt and sleeved top. Dress shorts/golf shorts. Creased trousers and crisp shirt or sweater set. Sport shoe or sandals.

A Few More Details:
Avoid sleeveless tops at work. If your top/blouse is sleeveless, always wear a jacket. Stockings/nylons are appropriate in business although you may use a skin bronzer in hot weather climates if your company approves of no stockings. Bare legs look sexy and stockings look professional. Always dry clean your garments in units, skirt, jacket and trousers at the same time. Buy fewer items of higher quality. Plain garments (no pattern) al low for greater mix and match possibilities.

Ten Point System: count one point for each of the following: shoes, each accessory (rings, earrings, belt, shoes, necklace) dress, clothing, adding another point for patterned clothing. The object is to have your “look” add up to ten points for a stunning image of a polished professional.

Light on the perfume. Clean shaven legs and underarms. Wear a white blouse only once and then wash it. Ladies dress shirts can be cleaned and pressed using a laundry service. No dangling or sparkling earrings in the business environment.

Cosmetics: equal intensity on the eyes, checks and lips. Avoid shiny cosmetics in the daytime.Quality: purchase the highest quality you can afford. Buy fewer items of better quality and dress to conquer the w orld.
Don’t be a slave to fashion. Purchase high quality garments that are timeless and appropriate for you, your lifestyle, your business and your desired outcome for advancement within your company.
Are you aware that words account for only seven percent of the message and the remaining ninety-three percent is based on our visual presentation and our body language. That is why it is a well known f fact that our body language and actions are believed before the spoken word.
In order to master a charismatic presence it is crucial to know and understand a few of the physiological assessments others are making on a subconscious level.People
are assessing you in the following ways:

Posturing: Leaning forward or backward? Standing straight or hunched over? Arms or legs crossed?
Body Movements: Rhythmic or intermittent? Body swaying or motionless? Smooth or erratic movements?
Eye Contact: Constant, fleeting, regular or irregular?
Breathing: From the upper, middle or lower stomach? Regular or irregular?
Muscle Tone: Are the facial muscles relaxed or tense? Observe the jaw muscles and the muscles around the eyes.
Quality of the Voice: Tempo...fast or slow? Loud or soft? Volume...soft, normal or loud?
Is the pitch low, normal or high?

So how we master these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
