Read the Sookie short, and a second short story by a different author. Both were good. The second short story was actually kinda interesting, a different spin on vampires/shapeshifters. It was also sad :(

http://www.amazon.com/Many-Bloody-Returns-Sookie-Stackhouse/dp/0441015220/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1231830411&sr=8-2

Finished the Last Book.

So sad, I won't have anymore Sookie for a while :(

But did find some cool Pics:
Pam and Eric:
http://true-blood.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=2094&fullsize=1
Just Pam:
http://true-blood.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=2096&fullsize=1

I really like the new character Amelia Broadway. Of the old characters, I really like Pam now. Hope nothing happens to her.

Also found an interesting Answer on the authors site:

Q. Will Sookie ever become a vampire/ get pregnant by a vampire/be overjoyed when one of her vampire lovers turns human?

A. No. And it’s not possible for a vampire to impregnate a human in my world.

Hope she does not die in the end... hope she lives a happy life, but my best wish for her would be that she find a way to live as long as her Fairy Great-grandfather so she can live a long life with Eric.

Book 7 - Southern Vampire Mysteries

I really liked this book. I liked the dynamic between Sookie and Eric in this one too, and how she worked with Barry the Bellboy. Hope she brings him back in the other books.

I stayed up till 3am to finish this one... could not stop reading.

Though I knew there was something fishy about the extra bags, and the security guy in the basement.

I think so far, book 1,2,3,4 and 7 are my favorite. Will see how good 8 is. I liked 5 and 6 also, but they were not as "fun" and did not have as much vampires in them. I like the Vampire world more then the Were/Shape Shifter world. The Vampire world has more politics, and is just more intriguing.

Bought a Camera... Finally...

I've wanted to get a dSLR camera for a while to experiment with HDR photography ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/hdr/ ) and now I finally can. My mother gave funds to buy the Canon Digital Rebel XSi.. I'm so happy... now have to wait till it comes in from Amazon. I also just need a general camera actually, my iPhone is the only camera I have... and it sucks.

But I think Ill just use it also for taking cool photos like this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/roykatalan/3150373967/

There are so many nice looking places in San Diego, should not be hard to find a subject.

So says the Pope : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWDrGga_F8o

I wonder when religion started parodying hate groups. The wording of the pope sounds eerily like something I've read in The Southern Vampire Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris. Except their monsters, as the title suggests, are vampires. And the words were said by a "preacher" in a group called "Fellowship of the Sun" who hate vampires.

One to the next.

Finished the third book. I liked it. The forth book looks interesting. In her "I wan't to thank" portion she seemed to have asked Wiccans for info for it. Will be interesting to see how she used it. I considered myself Wiccan for a while, still do to some extent, but it was't for me... I'm not into new age hippy stuff... on the whole it was too fluffy for me... and thats saying a lot. There were a few things that I took away from it though.

The homeless mannequin

I saw the homeless man again. He stands in the middle of the road motionless for hours on end. When I saw him today the thought "he kinda looks like a homeless mannequin" crossed my mind. I feel sorry for him, but not sure what I can do. His clothes are all matted and dirty, he has a dirty beard and dirty hair. I sometimes see him at the Vons, and the Starbucks. One of these days I may ask him why he stands on the streets motionless.

Idea's

I've had this idea spinning in my head for a while... a character that is a sort of conglomeration of all my past D&D characters. Most of them were Priests/Clerics; because I have this hopeless obsession with religion and god. The idea, as it stands, is a short story. I have the personality and his motivations all worked out, all thats missing is the start and end. This tends to be a reoccurring problem. I end up with an idea that I think is good, but with it always comes a "now what?". Reading through the True Blood books, and watching the show has given me some ideas, but then I feel like I'm stealing someone else's work. But then again the idea behind the books is not all that original to begin with...

Writer's Block: Traditional Pursuits

<lj-template name="qotd">
This does not apply to me as much, since I don't live in Las Vegas, but I think my favorite thing is seeing my crazy relatives.

I don't think I'm all that normal either,(whatever normal means) but I have some funny, dramatic, loud, strange relatives, and them being in one room at the same time, makes for an interesting time.

Dying Woman Loses Appeal on Marijuana as Medication

The woman, Angel McClary Raich, says she uses marijuana on doctors’ recommendation to treat an inoperable brain tumor and a battery of other serious ailments. Ms. Raich, 41, asserts that the drug effectively keeps her alive, by stimulating appetite and relieving pain, in a way that prescription drugs do not.

She wept when she heard the decision.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/15/us/15marijuana.html?ref=us

These people have no heart. I have never smoked pot, but I don't think it should be illegal. This woman is in pain, and marijuana is the only thing that helps her, yet these heartless puritan bastards want to keep her in pain because of the antiquated drug laws.

Fuck em.

Death Penalty

I am not a big advocate of the death penalty. However, in extreme cases... I have no sympathy for the convicted.

Case in point:

A jury on Wednesday recommended that a convicted sex offender get the death penalty for the kidnapping, rape and murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford, who was buried alive in trash bags just yards from her home.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17615925/

What possible use can scum like this provide to society?
