Smoking Jacket

Fiona Carswell has a nice project for all you smokers out there (including me).
The jacket has a built-in pair of lungs on the front. As the wearer smokes, the lungs fill up with the exhaled cigarette smoke and begin to gradually darken over time.

This project was a result of exploring reflective design as it relates to the body, behavioral choices, and information displays.

In Fabcell, fibers dyed with liquid crystal ink and conductive yarns connected to electronic components are woven into a square textile. By applying voltage to the conductive yarn, and changing the fabric's temperature, the color of fabric surface can be changed. Arranged in matrices, Fabcells display images on the curves of flexible textiles. And used for clothing or with soft objects, it enables them a new expressions of visual imaginary."

Music Textile

Music textile is a large tactile interface for playing electronic music. The performer plays it simply by moving his / her hand onto it. The hand contact XY position is transmited to a computeur via a 12 Bytes resolution Midi card. This allows 4000 by 4000 points resolution. Two conductiv fabrics are fixed on a frame, each one weaved with conductive threads in a different direction. When the performer presses any point of this textile instrument, the two fabrics connect and the current eletrical value is sent to the computer. It's simply based on a voltage divider resistive principle. I developed this project at the National Scool of Industrial Creation (ENSCI) Paris, France, for my diploma in december 2005. Since then I got specialized in the creation of inovating electronic textiles and I continued to develop this music textile.

No passado dia 17 de Março de 2007 a Puma lançou em Antuerpia 2000 balões numa campanha para anunciar os novos produtos da linha de golfe.

Nada de estranho se os balões não tivessem sido cheios com hélio e transportassem flutuando peças da nova colecção. Estes foram lançados e Meier, uma movimentada rua de lojas, assim como perto de paragens de autocarro, táxis e estações de comboio.
O intento era enaltecer as características lúdicas e de fácil transporte e armazenamento da linha.
