Hello friends and Happy New Year!! Today is extremely special for me because I finally get to show you something I've labored over for the last 12 months. I'm so happy to say, we have moved sites to www.igorandandre.com! I started building the site last December. When I started building it, I had no clue on how to build a site. So, it was a long and painful journey, but if you all enjoy it, it will be worth the work. It is huge. Hey friends, how was your weekend? And for you in the US, how was your Thanksgiving? Well, the painting today is one i co-painted with artist and model Codie Young. I wish you could see it in real life. It's one of my favorite paintings, and sadly pictures don't do it justice. It's 30"X40" on Wood. All the skin tone and hair was painted with wood stain, which was super interesting to use as an art medium. I will definitely be using it again. For the background and markings we used oil paint. We carved out the eyes two layers deep into the wood and painted in with acrylic. It was so much fun painting it with Codie. It was my first time ever painting a picture at the same time with someone also. It was an interesting and great experience. I have a video that I will be posting soon on the process.

KnightCat - Concept Sketch

Well, I am happy to say that I just finished uploading all the videos to my Skillshare class. :) It was a good challenge for me. I'm not use to articulating my art process, and definitely not use to doing talking videos. David was kind enough to help me with the videos. All 'n all, I'm really excited for you to take the class. We actually cover alot of techniques and concepts, so I can't wait to see what you all make for it. The class unlocks next Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Since it's online, you can do the class at your own pace. I'm going to try to post some of my favorite student projects on here each month. If you want to take the class click here for more information. Now for the drawing... the sketch above is the concept sketch for a collaboration I did with model Codie Young. For you who follow me on Instagram, you know what i'm talking about. I will be posting more about the collaboration, plus a video of us creating it, in future posts. This sketch was just the raw first draft concept sketch for a character from the book that David and I wrote. The character's name is Knightcat. Sorry for such a long absence from blogging. I haven't forgotten about you. I have just been working hard on getting the New Igor+André Website Launched. It's complete. Well, Hello Friends & Happy Easter,
Wow, i know it's been forever since i've posted. I wanted to let you know i haven't forgotten about you. In fact, it's the exact opposite. I've been building Igor + Andre 2.0. I'm pretty much finished now, just bug testing it. I'm so excited for you to see it. I went back through every post and labeled what mediums i used on each drawing and stuff like that. Anyways, hopefully you will get to explore it really soon.

So the post today is of Karl Lagerfeld or in this case, Karl Eggerfeld. I had the idea last Easter to draw Karl on an Easter egg, so i decided to do it yesterday. I had a lot of fun making it. I hope you like it. Hope you're doing great. :)

A Dream Through Puddles of Paint

Hello, my friends, how are you? It's been a crazy month for us. We've have been moving for the last three weeks. I forgot how much work moving is. So, I've been working on rebuilding my studio at our new place, and it's not fully there yet, but hopefully soon. But in the mean time I've had some fun playing around with 3D modeling and digital painting. I did this one inspired by Dolce & Gabbana FW 2012. What do you think? Kinda different? I'm planning on hand painting it too. I hope you like it.

On another note. if you want to order prints for Christmas now would be the best time, cause it's going to get crazier and crazier with every passing day with mailing things. You can get prints up here. :)

Hey Friends how was your halloween?

David got his tonsils taken out yesterday so been hanging out with him, as he recovers.
Well i finally finished the Codie Young Portrait. I really like how it turned out.

Hey Friends. Sorry for the delay in post. Been working non-stop on the book. Finished editing the first draft. Now, my brother and I are planning out the books in the Series. I can't wait for you all to read it. :)

I'm working on a piece right now of the lovely Codie Young from Lula Magazine. I've been posting picture of the progress on Instagram. I thought i would post them on here for you. I hope you like them. I think it's going to turn out really cool. I just need to finish up the shading and the color tomorrow. :)

Hey everyone! How was your weekend?
We had a relaxing one. Just hung out and worked on this portrait of the beautiful Daphne Groeneveld.
As some of you recall I did a portrait of Daphne Groeneveld, for models.com's Top Newcomers Spring 2011.
I wasn't able to spend as much time as I would have liked on my last portrait of her, and though i really like the first portrait, I thought I would do another one and spend a little bit more time on it. Last Friday I picked up a pencil and some illustration board and started sketching and this is what was born out of it. I really like how it turned out. I feel like it captures a touch of feeling in the expression. My picture was inspired by Alasdair McLellan's photo. I hope you like it :)

How are you? I'm happy to say that David and I finished the First Draft of our book, which means we are a few months away for starting to submit it to Publishers. We are really excited for you all to read it. Well, the post today is part of my Newcomer Portrait Series, and the portrait is of Antonina of IMG. Antonina first caught my eye a few months ago, when i saw a picture of her on tumblr. I thought she would be a great addition to the series. She has such a great and unique look. She has a Classic Beautiful look. When i was working on the portrait, i couldn't decide which version of the portrait i liked better, the color or black and white, so i thought i would post both. I also posted some of my favorite pictures of Antonina below. I hope you like the portrait. :)

How are you? Well, David and i have been working hard the last few weeks on finishing up the first draft of our book. We are currently 450 pages into it and 7 pages into the last chapter. It's kinda surreal that we will be finished with it in the next few days. Well, I'm really happy to finally get to share this amazing short film of my mural for Tiffany & Company last month. My friend Nick Bowser filmed and edited it, and my friend Tim Frost wrote the music. It really turned out amazing.

How are you? I've been catching up on rest. Also, trying to rescan all my old drawings that i lost files for when my harddrive crashed. The image today is one of those paintings that was lost. When i was scanning it, i realized i had never posted it before. The painting is of the Ali Michael in Coach Poppy campaign. It turned out super bright and colorful. I hope you like it :)

IMG Model Spring 2013 Show Package

Well, my friends, it's finally up! So excited to share this with you. I was asked by IMG Models to make a stop motion video of coloring their Show book for this season that came out today. The Show book is incredible. It was made in a way that it's a coloring book, and every model's showcard can tear out if you want to. I decided to keep my book intact seeing as it's the largest coloring book I own. It was actually the first show package I've ever received, which was cool in itself. I got the coloring book Friday morning, and started coloring right away. Three days, 9 large bags of candy, 138 pages and 6,435 pictures later, this video was born. Saturday morning, David and I were at Peet's drinking coffee (a Saturday morning Family Tradition), when we came up with the idea of incorporating candy into the video. We thought that Models, candy, and coloring books would be the best combo ever. We picked up 9 massive bags of candy and separated every candy and every color into different glasses. As i colored, David and his girlfriend Kristie would arrange and re-arrange the candy patterns between frames. I think my favorite in the video is in the finale, David had the idea of having the Starbursts bloom like flowers. It happens really fast, but looks really cool. There are a lot of fun little hidden things in the video, so it might be worth watching with YouTube slow motion, like the Starburst pacman, and when i paint one of the pictures with pink Good & Plenties dipped in water. I think we will post tomorrow some of our favorite stills from the video. Oh yea, and the song is by my friends, Zac, Ryan and Alice Baxley. They have a side project called "Cars! Bullets! Trains!!!" and the song is called "Just Count to Ten". Well, I hope you like it. We had so much fun making it. Let me know what you think. ;)

Hey friends, How was your weekend? David and i had a good one. Saturday, we had the pleasure of having dinner with Friends Chiara Ferragni & Shea Cheyenne & all their friends who are part of their road trip coast to coast across America. It was really fun seeing them.

So do you remember about a month back i told you my hard drive containing all my drawings crashed. Well, i sent it off to data recovery and just got it back, so i have been searching night and day through the hard drive to try and find some of my favorite drawings. I'm happy to say i've been able to recover almost all of my old drawings. The only bad thing is there are about 40-50 drawings that are unrecoverable, so i'm going to have to spend the next few weeks going through stacks of drawing and re-scaning the missing artwork files. I will keep you posted on that. The good news is going through all my files caused me to rediscover some drawings i did 3-4 years ago that i forgot about. The Post today is an illustration i did of model Heather Marks on the cover of Vogue Nippon. I like the cool blue mood of it. I think I did it with micro and prisma color pens on bristol paper.

A Moment in Love - Tiffany & Co Mural

I thought i would put together a sort of summary post of alot of the pictures from the Tiffany & Co. SoHo painting since it came down today. It's really hard to believe that I finished it a week ago today. Time moves by way too fast. We had so much fun out in NYC working on the project, and it was so fun to have so many friends stop by and say hi! Thank you all so much for all of your support throughout the entire thing. My friend Nick Bowser took most of the photos. He was nice enough to come down and shoot while I was painting and David was live streaming. This project was extra fun because our older sister Mandi got to come out to NY with us. She works in LA as a architect, and it pretty busy, so it was special for us to have her along for the adventure. I think Nick is putting together a video. so we will hopefully be posting that soon. Also a lot of you have asked me if i'm going to add prints of the Tiffany's Mural to my store. We are working on getting permission, and will let you know if we can do prints.

Tiffany SoHo Day 1 Picture and Video

I finished the first day of painting at the Tiffany & Co. SoHo store. The print got installed and I began painting gold on the bodice of one of the dresses. I really like how it is looking so far. Also, David did some live streaming yesterday, and I included some of the video from that below. Sorry that we had some bad links to the streaming yesterday. We will definitely have a post up today where you can watch it. :)

The Day has come! I start today on my live painting project at Tiffany and Co.'s new SoHo store! This image is part of the rough draft (there are many more people in the finished version) of the piece. So the theme for the project is love. I hope you all think the finished painting fits the theme :) Because of the scale of the this project (15' high, 34' long) and the fact that I have only three days to finish, I realized the best thing to do was to begin the art at home, and finish the piece here in SoHo. Today, we are having a giant print installed of the work I did at home, and then I am going begin the final painting on top of the print and have the piece finished by Wednesday night. I'm really excited for you to see it! David will be live streaming me painting later today and on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. You'll be able to view the video here on the blog and also on our Facebook Page.

Chiara Ferragni - Blogger Portait Series

So, I recently started a new round of blogger portraits. The last one was of John Jannuzzi and now my latest is my friend Chiara Ferragni. David and I first met Chiara at New York Fashion Week Fall 2011. We had a lot of fun hanging out with her! She is super sweet :) I feel like it is very elegant looking and captures her well. I hope you like the portrait! Also, we arrived last night in New York and are in SoHo today getting ready to begin painting at the soon-to-open Tiffany & Co. SoHo store at 97 Greene Street. I'll be finishing a mural there Monday through Wednesday. If you can come on by during the day, we'd love to see you! If you can't make it, we're are hoping to UStream some of the painting.

Character Sketchbook 144

Hi Friends. Sorry for you the absence. As i mentioned in my last post, i've been getting ready for The Mural project for Tiffany and Company. Been working 13-16 hours per day for the last 7 days, just to finish it in time. I just finished the mural design last night. I'm pretty exhausted, but so happy with how it turned out. i can't wait for you all to see it, and i can't wait to get working on it in New York. David, my sister Mandi, and I are flying out this Saturday. I'm going to be painting in Soho next Monday through Wednesday (August 6-8). I will let you know the times i'm painting soon :)

The picture today is Character Sketchbook 144 of Gemma Ward. I drew this 3 years ago. i thought it would be a fun drawing to post for today. Are any of you watching the Olympics? What's your favorite sport to watch so far?

I hope you had a great weekend. Well, got some amazing news for you all!
I'm happy to say, I have a new massive canvas awaiting me in New York!
I had the honor to be asked by the incredible Tiffany & Co. to come out in two weeks to paint a mural on the hoarding outside the new Tiffany's in SoHo. Basically, I'm going to be working non-stop till we fly out there. So, if i don't comment back, don't worry, I'm planning on going back through all the posts and responding to you all. :) It's just been a little crazy. I can't wait for you to see the final art work. If you are in New York in a few weeks, stop by Green Street in Soho, and hang out with us as I paint. We'll announce the exact dates soon. :) Hope you're doing great.

My Kitty Milo

Hey friends how was your weekend?
We've been worried about my cat Milo, who went missing last week. :( In honor of the wonderful cat that he is, I thought I would post a sketch I did of him. The Sketch was a concept for the book my friend, Sophie Ward, and I did. The book's name is Ginger Marmalade Toast Miester. We put up flyers of Milo today so hopefully we will get him back soon. He's a good kitty.
