i guess Apple is really love China now, hopefully China will have mercy on their iPad trademark issue.

News has emerged today that local authorities in China are forcing retail stores to remove their iPad stock from sale due to Apple’s on going battle with China’s Proview over the iPad trademark

The Chinese electronics company Proview, who claim they still own the iPad trademark in China, recently won the first round of legal battles against Apple, after the Chinese high court found them the legal owner of the iPad brand name.

Since that time there have been suggestions that Apple may be forced to remove the iPad from sale in China and possibly rebrand their popular touchscreen tablet, however it looks like Chinese officials have already started to force stores to remove the iPad from sale, claiming it is now banned in China due to the on going legal battle.

Proview, not content with having the iPad banned in China are also currently seeking 2.4 billion yuan ($380 million US) in damages from Apple.

While Apple must be fuming over the matter, Samsung are likely giving Proview a high 5.

PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the US government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting “creativity”. The law would let the US government or corporations censor entire sites– they just have to convince a judge that the site is “dedicated to copyright infringement.”

The US government has already wrongly shut down sites without any recourse to the site owner. Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be considered illegal behavior according to this bill.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill would cost us $47 million tax dollars a year — that’s for a fix that won’t work, disrupts the internet, stifles innovation, shuts out diverse voices, and censors the internet. This bill is bad for creativity and does not protect your rights.

I believe since yesterday 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak is released, many of you was thinking to port Siri to your iPhone 4/iPod touch/iPad etc. After tried it so many days and nights with different kinds of hack and trick. I have a conclusion for this:

1. Can Siri really port over to non-4s device legally?

Yes it can be done, all you have to do is install “Spire” from Cydia, which is 100MB, and legally as it is download from Apple server.

2.  Once install Spire, where can i get the working server to get it work?

Either you setup your own Siri Proxy server (you need some skills to do this), or get it from your friends or people you trust. As i don’t encourage to use public Siri Proxy Server, if you concern about security and privacy issue. Because people who setup the Siri Proxy Server, can monitoring your data, even retrieve your contact, sms, calendar etc.

3. Ok, if i successfully setup my own Siri Proxy Server or using public Siri Proxy server, can it work all the time?

Nope, as Siri required iPhone 4S authorization keys that generate automatically and change every 24 hours. Unless you have an iPhone 4s key which you need to grab it via  Authgrabber. Otherwise it is painful to look for the key.

And another concern is, even you can get public Siri Proxy server, it can only use up to maximum 10 device/users for one Siri proxy server that sharing one same iPhone 4s unique key.

There is one working solution which is possible to get it work everyday, some website provide key generating service and send you every day, and you have to pay them for the subscription fee.

4. In that’s the case, what else solution to get Siri work in non-4S device perfectly?

Seriously, buy an iPhone 4S – the only solution that is secure, working 100%. Sorry.

Another hope is, wait for hackers come out a solution that able to cheat Siri server that non-4S device is iPhone 4s and generating the unique key.

Pod2g’s untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad 1, has been released, according the iPhone Dev-Team.

A few days ago, @pod2g gave the untether to both the iPhone devteam and the chronic devteam. We’ve put it into redsn0w 0.9.10 and PwnageTool, and the chronic devteam put it into a Cydia package (the same set of exploits is in all three).

Basics:

• The untether is for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-CDMA, iPad1, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G
• If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now! The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1 If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW! See the guides at places like iClarified.com if you don’t know how. Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
• If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam. The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
• Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration. If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup! You will most likely get into a reboot cycle. Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.
