Esce questa settimana per Gargoyle Books Morire per vivere, traduzione italiana dell'acclamato Old Man's War.

Old Man's War è il romanzo d'esordio di John Scalzi. Uscito nel 2005 negli Stati Uniti, racconta la storia di John Perry, terrestre settantacinquenne arruolato nelle Forze di Difesa Coloniale.

Sono passate un paio di settimane da quando il giochino ha impazzato nei blog del vicinato. Riprendiamo le trasmissioni con qualche nota su uno dei romanzi migliori mi siano capitati in mano negli ultimi mesi: The Dervish House, di Ian McDonald.

Il blog è ancora fermo, ma fuori le cose continuano a muoversi. Ero qui che stavo sistemando delle cose sul mio Mac quando è saltato fuori questo vecchio progetto che risale a ormai quattro anni fa.

 

Consumati.abbandonati.recuperati è nato grazie all'entusiasmo di un paio di compagni di strada flickeriani, che all'epoca misero in piedi una serie di appuntamenti fotografici presso un centro sociale piacentino.

Stamattina Vittorio Curtoni ci ha lasciato. 
Per chi non lo conosceva basti dire che Vittorio Curtoni è la persona che ha contribuito forse più di tutti - almeno nella sua generazione - a fare e trasformare la fantascienza in Italia.  

Del Vic mi rimarranno il ricordo del sapore inconfondibile dei suoi messaggi, nei primi anni della mia vita in rete. Nello spazio commenti dell'ulitmo post, Vanamonde chiede:
"…secondo voi che cosa manca di più alla fantascienza italiana in Rete? 
Quali sono le aree che un nuovo sito fantascientifico dovrebbe coprire, e che non sono già coperte da fantascienza.com?

Nelle ultime settimane non sono stato molto presente in rete. Per questo motivo ho scoperto solo all'ultimo la serie di post che Angelo Benuzzi ha dedicato alla scena fantascientifica italiana.
L'obiettivo di Angelo è piuttosto ambizioso: rilanciare la letteratura di fantascienza in Italia.

Tra le altre cose Massimo era un gran fotografo.
Il suo talento non stava tanto nella competenza tecnica quanto piuttosto nell'occhio e nel cuore che metteva nei suoi scatti.
