Yes it’s possible to install and play with Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 in VMWARE Windows edition. Technically it’s not possible to install OS X natively in VMWARE but a little trickery can do wonder. According to iHackintosh post a few modifications to the .vmx file and use a modified install disk as this will save a lot of trouble. Let me clear Apple licensing does not allow for the virtualization of OSX Client on any hardware and only allows for the virtualization OSX server on Apple hardware. Anything else is in violation of the license agreement.

After release of iAtkos V7 OSX86 10.5.7 Uphuck announced their upcoming project iKaros. iKaros is the codename of Snow Leopard OSX86 project by Turk Team.

Hey guys,

we started the new project code name iKaros

iKaros is Mac OS X 10.6.x Snow leopard dvd distros based on our methods.

~iKaros will be released after and official Snow Leopard Release from Apple.
So dont ask why we dont release it. we will wait for the official release so that we cover everything.
** iKaros is an experimental and personal project so that people can taste what Apple Software
brings and hopefully buy a real mac after that.

** It will contain all the new stuff as usual.

** iKaros will only support the modern hardware. ( minimum core based CPU and a modern chipset)

** We will not support obsolete hardware more info will come soon.

I am currently applying my so-called “intelization” techniques on the distro. Since PPC usage is extremely small nowadays, we can get rid of the Universal code from almost all binaries.

Step One : Create a folder on desktop and name it whatever you wants in the following article we named it iHackintosh. Now put all your downloaded files in the iHackintosh folder. Now connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes.

Step Two : Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left. Now hold down shift and click the Restorebutton. Restore is preferred as it won’t create any wasted space on your iPhone.

Step Three : Navigate to the iHackintosh folder on your desktop and select the 3.0 firmware ipsw. Click theOpen button to continue.

Step Ten : You will now be asked to select your bootloader files. Click the Browse button and select the 3.9 bootloader from the iHackintosh folder on your desktop. Likewise do the same thing for the 4.6 bootloader file. Then click the blue arrow button to continue.

Step Eleven : QuickPwn will now ask you to confirm your iPhone is connected via USB before continuing. Click the blue arrow button to proceed.

Step Twelve : QuickPwn will now automatically put your iPhone into recovery mode. Once its in recovery mode you will be prompted to: Hold the Home button for 5 seconds, Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

Watch the prompts carefully and follow along.
Step Thirteen : Once QuickPwn detects your iPhone in DFU mode it will begin the jailbreak process.

Step Fourteen : Once jailbreaking is complete QuickPwn will inform you that it was successful. Your iPhonewill then proceed to run BootNeuter. This process will take about 5 minutes. Please be patient. Your iPhonewill reboot when it has completed the process successfully!

Dev team announced UltraSn0w a replacement of YellowSn0w. Firmware 3.0 for iPhone 3G is jailbroken and unlocked. Baseband 04.26.08 is unlocked with UltraSn0w. UltraSn0w will be released by Friday. PwnageTool and QuickPwn Tools should be updated and released soon after the Firmware 3.0 release and for iPhone 2G a.k.a. 1,1, iPhone3G a.k.a. 1,2, iPod touch1,1 and iPod touch 2G a.k.a. 2,1. The trick to how they're getting the jailbreak hasn't been revealed yet for fear of Apple making a fix at the eleventh hour, but if everything goes according to plan.

UltraSn0w works same as YellowSn0w. About UltraSn0w application is a small daemon that is launched on boot. It injects the payload at boot and also whenever there is a baseband reset. You won’t notice anything about it other than that your third-party sim now works. It’s a small program and unobtrusive. The UltraSn0w unlock will be released on Friday 19th along with iPhone 3G S and will be applied in the same manner as the previous yellowsn0w unlock. The procedure will work on the 4.26.08 baseband version so all those who accidentally updated to the latest baseband will be able to regain their unlock. And anyone at 3.0 FW or below will be able to use it.

The interesting fact is UltraSn0w uses the same payload but injected into new hole in the baseband. new hole was found by an iPhone user name Orinav (Non Dev team). The hole has been found by one of iPhone User accidentally, while tempering around with iphone Commands and Mincom he found that his baseband getting jammed and resulting into iPhone reboot
