Sharing some moments from the Farewell Party for Jay,Sharla & Paul

it was fun!

Lollipop Bouquet Centerpieces

2013-10-02T10:47:00.002-07:00

Finished the Lollipop Bouquet centerpieces for the Farewell Party this weekend at Tsujiki's.

It's a combination gift/centerpiece for the 3 co-workers that are leaving. 2 are mugs - for the 2 dudes leaving - Jay & Paul. I figure they can pour their BEER after a LONG day of work and chelax and watch TV or something. Plus there's a pic of a HOT hula girl for them to look at. The 3rd mug is of the WALKING DEAD - for Sharla - who's a big FAN of the walking dead. Hope they like it!

And I wish them all the BEST and MUCH HAPPINESS as they embark on a new chapter in their careers! My only advice is to LEARN as much as they can ... and be HAPPY...

(plus ... we'd welcome them back with open arms if they want to return! HAHA)

OCTOBER - Fall is here!

2013-10-01T19:25:00.003-07:00

It's been 5 months since my last post. And it's NOT that I haven't done anything since May - but mainly because I've been too busy.

FIRST OFF - JULY - we had a DLS company picnic spent at SEA LIFE PARK. My kids enjoyed themselves - as I did as well. (It's been awhile since I've been out in the sun for that long!)

Catching up with my CROCHETING.... Yoda hat for hubby and a cap for IAN bear.

A baby blanket and 2 hats for Sam's baby boy who will be born soon - like maybe NOW!!.
(OCT 2013)

Sometime in September - for a FEW of us - we celebrated the August birthday babies - at a luncheon at MAX's of Manila Restaurant. It was fun!

White Chocolate oreo Favors - for the Leo zodiac birthday gals

Napkin folded cards for the 3 birthday girls

Collage of all the fun we had for our outing.

Spent some time with my BFF's from my "hanna butta" days. We celebrated Deliah's & Lou's (my cuz) 23rd (ha ha) Birthday at 53 by the Sea. (formaly JOHN DOMONIS). It was GREAT! Pricey but worth it!

All SMILES after our first experience using a BIDET

Birthday girls blowing out their candles! (make a wish!)

POSING... poor waiter took our pics inside and outside of the restaurant.

the NOM NOM's we ate... oooh they were tasty!... but oh so SMALL! (no rice!)

LAST BUT NOT LEAST - We are having a FAREWELL party at Tsukiji's on 10/6//13 ..3 of our valued employees are leaving the CORE lab ohana!

2 cards - zig zag fold?

Favors - simple but to the point! haha

May Mayhem - Another Busy Month

2013-05-22T14:22:00.001-07:00

Hello - I'ts been 2 months since my last post. I've been busy as usual with work - mostly... Oh and May marked my older son - Jakob's 16th birthday, my dad's 68th Birthday and my 16th year as a mother for mother's day. ;)

Below are some of the projects that i've completed and some special events in my life...

Another special card for a co-worker who just recently decided to take the PLUNGE - the marriage plunge! Haha he's in for an adventure! Good luck to yah both!

A special card to celebrate the birth of a new baby boy for another one of my co-workers. It was the year of the BOY in 2013!

Some creating of cards from my Sillouhette Cameo - I'm still learning - but I just love it! I already ruined that sticky mat that comes with the machine - so oh-well I put in for another order. Be on the look out for more CREATIONS.!

At work - we had a craft fair bake sale - my talented friend SHERA created these yarn crosstitch goodies and I made the minibag.

Baked some goodies.

More pics of the mini bags and an idea for a recipe holder.

Went through this "duct tape" obssession - made these zippered bags with duct tape. It was fun while it lasted...now I have a whole bunch of duct tape....sitting in a pile...waiting for me to use them... (I shall... when I have time again)

Did a FAST create for my friend's daughters 2 yr old bday - just resized a tag on my sillhoutte cameo and viola! A candy holder favor... Simple and easy..

And it's that time of the year again - GRADUATION. I found this idea on QBEE's blog. It was easy and cute.

Did a RUSH job on this money lei for my neice SAM - she graduated from pearl City High School! WE are so very proud of her - Way to go Sam!

In May marked my older son Jakob's 16th birthday - he didn't want a big party - so wwe went to get his BROWS waxed and ae a nice dinner at Farrell's - the food has gotten so much better!

Mother's day came after - and yep I MADE breakfast for my boys... all 3 of them! The middle "boy" is my naughtiest child! give me problems all the time! ha ah -I'm joking.

Mother's Day Dinner - with Frank Delima at the Pagoda Restaurant

It was FUN - Frank Delima Style - loved it!

Lastly but not LEAST - me and my Mommy. (Kathy) - Pretty as ever - she drives me nuts on a daily basis - wouldn't have her any other way ofcourse. (that's what I'm used to). She has shaped me into the person that I am today (good and bad! haha)
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!

k- till next time - I'll see you all in another 2 months !

March Madness - busy month

2013-03-18T01:42:00.000-07:00

March has been busy for me... First and foremost - on 3/3/13 - it was me and my hubby's 18th wedding anniversary. OMG - 18 yrs!! Has it been that long?.. after the first 10 yrs - who's counting right?... We've had our ups and downs... but it has been worth it in the end. (It's been a crazy stressful adventure ... this thing we call - marriage.. my hubby would agree..I'm not the easiest person to live with). Anyhow - I'm glad we are still going strong - he's been a great dad to our 2 sons, he's my companion and best friend ... and ofcourse my "chauffer" to all the places I don't know how to drive too. THANK YOU HONEY. ;)

Notice how my "eyes" look dead... ha ha

The next big even was on 3/5/13 I turned 24... (I mean 42!)... Spent a wonderful day with my highschool peeps (you know who you are) - we had a lovely late lunch at mac24/7 - which incidently used to be Trellessis restaurant back in the day... (specifically - our wedding recpetion was there 18 yrs ago!!!,).. After we goofed off at Funpix hawaii - and had a ball!! Then we went to Panya bakery at Ala Moana to engorge ourselves in pastries... mmmm.. it was great... Then we walked around the EXPENSIVE stores just acting like we could afford the stuffs in there... It was fun! We must do this again!.

Funpix hawaii

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I then had 2 baby showers I helped throw - The Favors are below as well as the goodies I gave for them!

MJ - loves big bang theory... iron on these...they were so cute

=========================================================

Then I had some ideas for a friend of mine's who's daughter is turning 1 this year.

Their theme is Kai Lan - she's a cute chinese cartoon...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I had a friend that was a March baby like me - so whipped up a cardstock purse for her with some goodies inside... She liked it. ;)

Then - found out another of my co-workers became proud parents of a baby Boy..so I whipped up another Baby Card for the peeps to sign and collect some money for the new parents to dote on their bundle of joy.! It's the year of the boy - so far that dept (chem) had 4 boys born!!!OMG.. what it's in the water they are drinking!

Made a set of cardstock purse goodie bags for a good friend of mine - while she leaves the dept .. she has been working in. She wanted a holder for the goodies she's giving her coworkers as she bids a fond farewell!...

Ofcourse it's HELLO KITTY -surprise

Since Easter is just around the corner - I started on an idea for an Easter basket.YEP - it's another Hello Kitty Theme

Lastly - but not LEAST... I've been neglecting my baking/cooking duties - because WELL... I've been way too busy..So finally I tried a new recipe.. Flan Chocolate Cake ; Japanese Cheesecake.

It turned out pretty "flat"... I didn't bother bringing it to work. We ate it all at home... Believe it or not... it was YUMMY!!!... Next time I make it - the egg whites better become stiff peaks... I got lazy trying to beat it for 10 minutes... something must have been wrong with the eggs!!!

Well that's all - for now... in terms of my "crafts"...

But..

One more important thing....

I'd like to take a moment of silence for 2 dear people who are close to my heart that have since passed on... within the past month. First my father in law - Eddie who passed 2/1/13 and dear Gramma Bertha - who passed on 3/2/13...(2 days shy of her 101st birthday)...

May they both rest in peace. We will miss them both so very much...

But their memories will live in our minds and in our hearts.

February - Catch up on Projects

2013-02-09T18:29:00.000-08:00

Hello - missed posting anything in January. It was pretty hectic - but it doesn't mean I wasn't creating... (I was the early shift - so I was kinda "too tired" to do anything..) Below are some of the projects that I've been working on. Need to come up with a Valentine's craft for some peeps... Hello Kitty theme I think.

1st off - a Bereavement card for a co-worker of mine. Her mom passed away - may she rest in peace.

This is the cutest thing - a bag that converts to a frame. Made it for Auntie's beloved Lani boy - he's a Bichon Friche

On a happier note - a Pocket Card Baby Shower invite (hello-kitty theme)

Christmas 2012

2012-12-17T14:36:00.001-08:00

This year is quickly coming to an end! Can you believe it? Xmas is around the corner and 2013 is sneaking up as we speak!!!... Time is speeding by... Anyhow - just wanted to share what chaos I've been up to. Some of you know I've been taking some mini vacay's here and there these last couple of weeks... 2 weeks ago I took another week off.. And well - I didn't go anyhwere - just stayed home doing my crafts and making the house messy. (yah the house needs to be thoroughly cleaned...thus I'm taking another 3 days off... let/s see if that task will be done!) Below is some of the stuffs I've finished... whew...

Just wanted to take this time to wish everyone a merry xmas 2012..I'm thankful I have great friends and family that have been by my side for a long time. ;)

And I'd like to say a prayer of remembrance for those innocent lives

(young and old)

that were taken during the shooting's at the elementary school last week. It was such a senseless crime at a time when we should all be celebrating the holiday season. It saddens me.

It makes me even more THANKFUL that we live Hawaii.....

Ian's 10th Birthday/Thanksgiving Celebration 2012

2012-11-24T21:33:00.003-08:00

Happy Thanksgiving 2012

2012-11-21T20:47:00.000-08:00

First off - had a Birthday potluck 11/20/12. Good friend turned the BIG 3-0... Found this diy cake pop project - that I just had to try. I used Red Velvet Cake, white chocolate coating and some decorations. Viola - yummy and cute snacks.

Happy 30th Birthday Girl! ;) (she wants to be anonymous)

Thanksgiving is extra special this year - not only is it the day we give "THANKS" for all that we have in our lives - it is my youngest son's 10th Birthday!... Yay - my baby is double digits old! We will have a small party for him at lunch and spend our yearly Thanksgiving Dinner with my inlaws at Prince Court that night. Bleh... eating all day and night. Then ofcourse - start shopping the BLACK FRIDAY DEALS..!!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!

Double Baby Shower!

2012-11-19T00:06:00.000-08:00

Thought I'd share some of the crafts I made for the Double Baby Shower we had today for Bing & Nancy at Old Spaghetti Factory. It turned out pretty good, although we RUSHED the games...a little... I'm glad everyone had fun. Both gals are having BOYS in January 2013! Congrats to them both. They'll both be great mothers.

The prizes - had some leftover clothes pins - made them into magnets

The Centerpieces were tissue covers and I made these diaper cakes for the gals
Can't see it clearly - but crochet a hat and baby bunting, and sewed (yes you heard me -sewed) some flannel pieces onto some burp clothes.

The Favor - snack popcorn/lollipop and our Guess the Baby game (that was fun)

I haven't been to OLD Spaghetti Factory since the 90'z...and the food was just as good as I remembered. Although I kinda wanted to order the Italian Soda!!! Darn... well I'm forcing my hubby to bring me next time.. (won't take no for answer!)

It was a such a nice party - it was therapeutic to get together with my co-workers in a NON-STRESSFUL environment!
And I'm on a short vacay! YAY!

Halloween Goodies - a little more

2012-11-05T23:21:00.002-08:00

Yummies for Ian's Class - didn't break my promise - I told him no goodie bags - but bked cupcakes instead.

Goodies for my peeps at work. ;)

Happy Fall Ya'll

2012-10-29T02:19:00.002-07:00

It's Fall already - meaning it's Halloween once again. I've been so so so busy lately and kinda STRESSED. Usually crafting -DE-STRESSES me - but well... work has been occupying pretty much ALOT of my time - so CRAFTING came second. (and therefore... my stress has been increasing as a result... ) However..I did squeeze in some time this weekend... I wish I could have done more... Tomorrow - after work - I plan to make some treats... ;) (if I'm NOT too tired-we'll see)

Goodie bags for Ian's neighborhood friends - I'm NOT allowed to give goodie bags for his classmates (He'll be too embarrassed)....
Also forgot to show the crochet ribbon lei I gave to a good friend that recently moved to the mainland a few weeks ago.

Made some goodie bags for some little girls that I know. My boys are too OLD for goody bags
(as my youngest told me)

Have a Safe Halloween - and remember to BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!!

Tissue Box covers

2012-10-16T02:03:00.001-07:00

Found something new to do. Made Tissue Box Covers out of scrapbook papers. It was pretty fun and easy to make. One was made for a friend as a "thank you" gift. The other is for an upcoming baby Shower in November - it will be the centerpieces.

Bereavement Card

2012-10-14T12:51:00.003-07:00

Another one of my co-worker's loved one has passed on. It was a really sad year - this is the 3rd Bereavement card I'd made for a Father that had moved on.... Below is the card.

Best Wishes - Cybil (wait did I spell it wrong?)

2012-09-29T19:39:00.001-07:00

A great co-worker and wonderful person is leaving our company once again.
Just wanted to share the card that I created for her. It's made with a brown paper bag and some designer paper etc. I hope she liked it. It was pretty neat working with her and only wish her the very best for the future!!

I was off for a week - and I had the NEED to crochet... I crochet quite a bit that week. I made several of these headbands. Aren't they cute? - wish I had daughters.. hmmm... maybe Ian shall wear one for me? ha ha

2012-07-21T14:52:00.000-07:00

Hello - haven't posted back for awhile...well suffice it to say... I've been busy.!... I had quite a few projects that I've been juggling all at once... a slideshow for a 50th wedding anniversary, program for a funeral, 1st birthday invite and graduation party invite, favors, guest book etc...... (and to top it off - I'm off to training in the mainland in 2 weeks!!...) I've been trying to finish up my projects before I leave...or at least finish a majority of it... I'm just down to finishing up the 1st birthday invitations...(for some reason - it's turning out to be more harder than I had initially thought... ha ha... it's all good. ) Anyhow - thought I'd SHARE some of the projects that I've been working on... see below...

My neice Jasmine-Chanel - graduated 2012 Campbell Highschool (proud Auntie feeling old right now!)

Her Guest Book - tried my best to make it "unique"...hope it will do

Below is the invite Folded explosion card for my good friend "Vic's" beloved grandaughter sophia...
My younger son actually helped me fold the cards up... he's just like mommy - crafty...the other one... uh I dunno...he's like his dad... (ha ha)

Lastly, but not least... I made a set of bereavement cards for my good friend "S"... who's father just recently past away.

gosh -that was a LONG post.... well I figured... I won't have time to be posting until maybe mid august... or whenevers... so I thought I'd catch up!

Till next time! - J

Baby Shower Gift ... for Baby Shyne

2012-06-26T00:02:00.000-07:00

Hello it's been awhile since I've posted anything, hasn't it?.. Well - none-the less I've still been creating stuffs - just didn't have time to post them.
Below are photos of a 3 drawer card box I created for my coworker's ("J") newborn daughter Shyne. (how lucky - he also has a boy - named ... Ryze... yes...Ryze and Shyne... ;) I shall give the present when he returns from his mini-vacay.

there's some goodies for baby in there... hope they like it..

CONGRATULATIONS ... Jayson & Wina

May Crafts (a few more)

2012-05-25T01:37:00.002-07:00

Before we set off on our 1 night staycation at Pagoda Hotel - I thought I'd post a few more of the crafts I've finished.

Another Lei - for a friend getting married

A Small Box Card - to fit a personalized
Keychains.

Lei Creations...

2012-05-20T03:17:00.001-07:00

Mayday came and went and now it's on to Graduation!... Below are 3 quick lei's I made up. (literally)

A graduation lei - for Jornalyn (Lorna's daughter) - didn't realize she's graduating from Campbell Highschool this year. My how time flies!!!. This lei is made with orange nd blck curly ribbon that I crochet into flowers then single crochet the fuzzy green yarn. Added a Money Butterfly Origami (as a little "something" for her)

My neice Jasmine is also graduating from Campbell Highschool as well - so I made this money lei -

For some reason I had TONZ of left over orange and black Tulle and ribbon. (hmmm...must be from previous graduation years)... So I tried to use up my materials - added the money origami as "extra". Hope she likes it.

my baby Ian - modeling the lei. ha ha...

Straw maile yarn lei. - I finally made one. I've always wanted to make one. It's actually pretty easy - BUT you need to make 3 strands and wind them together to make 1 lei. (that's the only hard part - and ALSO trying to keep them entwined is TRICKY!) - this one I made for Ian's 4th grade teacher. (hope she liked it...)

Flashback while I was Cleaning!

2012-05-03T15:48:00.001-07:00

I'm on a minivacay for about 5 days. My parents are due back from a month long vacay from the Philippines in 2 days...So you know what that means?... Time to do some major cleaning. It's been a LONG month... For one thing.... Doing the laundry is the HARDEST thing... I'd rather do a stack load of DIFFS, trays and trays of UA processesing, racks of SEDRATES than do laundry.. It's not as easy as it looks. After doing 4 loads - I wonder... "hmmm...why are the clothes still dirty?...what the heck?..." (so I put it back in the hamper for another try next time. ha ha ha...) Anyhow - I'm going off the point (yet again) - Anyhow - as I was TRYING to clean my room (I have Ian's room to clean as well...) - I found a whole bunch of nostalgic 80'z stuff... Which then got me to REMINISE once again about the past. I decided to take pics since... I work with ALOT of young'ens that have no idea what I'm talking about sometimes...

Found this old PAY N SAVE BAG... remember this store? which originally was PAYLESS store...?

Found this ANCIENT 1/2 folder .... the popular fad back in the day - where we cut the folder in half then decorate it with electrical tape and colored plastic (don't forget to put foil in it too - to get that 80'z effect to it.) I must add - my folder is kinda UGLY... wasn't very good at making it. My cuz Lou had some pretty nice looking ones. (she's craftier than I. ha ha ha - but she's too busy with her life to BLOG...me?... I do nothing - except work, bake, craft and stay home..)

check out the classic 80'z sticker.. ha ha ha. got this at Summer's Place (at ala moana center - it's LONG gone now). I still have a STICKER FETISH.. it's my weakness. (one of many weaknesses I've got)

guess what I found in that folder? a page of Easter Seals stamp from 1986!!!! OMG!!!

Then I found these goodies from ancient past - WAY before our digital camera days.
The top photo I do believe is the "Disc" Camera - and the film came in a circle (cool)
The above photo is of th 110 film, 35 mm and slide. We've come a LONG way since then haven't we?. I just look back in amazement... 1986 - 2012... YIKES...

Found this as well in the package - reminder of my crazy MENUDO days. Can you believe this is a small envelope that I hand taped (with scotch tape - didn't have a laminator then....) .... I think I sealed a LOVE letter to Roy in there... it's still sealed from 1986!!!... ha ha... was thinking of opening it.. decided not to.

and ONE more thing....

this is AIR SUPPLY!!! To my "younger" crew that did not know who Air Supply was... here they are in all their 80'z glory.
I swear sometimes... I feel so ancient when I work with them.

Anyhow - no craft post today... I was (supposed) to be cleaning house!! HA HA HA... I've got another day..

Easter 2012

2012-04-07T00:28:00.000-07:00

Happy Easter everyone! - I can't believe we're into April so soon? (wasn't it just March a week ago?...)
Time is moving way to fast. (I wish it would slow down a bit...) Anyhow - I've created some goodies for easter...since I'm not creating goody bags for Ian any longer... I created some easter "bags" for my neice - Bella and some of my coworkers daughters... ;)

I made a larger bag and a smaller one

The larger bag

What it looks like opened.

Closeup of the little bag

What I could "stuff" in there

Back from Vegas

2012-03-25T17:34:00.000-07:00

It's been about a week since we returned from Vegas. Still recuperating... from inhaling all the CIGARRETTE SMOKE... my SKIN is recuperating from the dry/cold Air of Vegas as well as from the harsh chlorinated water they have over there. Most especially my TUMMY is recuperating from RICE withdrawal and ofcourse being STRETCHED to the extreme with all the buffets we ate at.... (bleh).... So what did we do when we got back? ... What else?.... we fed our "RICE" addiction with a trip to KURU KURU sushi! (salmon sushi - yum!) Anyhow - it was GREAT to get back to this ROCK we call home... I don't care what anyone says... Hawaii will always be my home... there's no place like it...

Enough of my "speech"... this is a craft blog after all... Anyhow a week without doing any crafts kinda got me down - so I decided to create something... that something were these:.... (below)

Made these 2 for my BFF's - (you guys know who you are - HK freaks! - ;)

This is how it looks like opened - put some photos of us for them.

This TY Hello Kitty beannie is for the both of them (hint - they are NURSES) - picked them up in Vegas. I hope they don't have it yet.

Another bag made for another good friend of mine. "S"

This is how it looks opened. I hope "S" likes it - she's been battling a health issue for some time now. She's been her usual BRAVE and COURAGOUS self... and well - I just wanted to know that I only wish I could be just as strong. (ha ha... I hope if she reads this blog - she'll ACT surprised when I give her the gift...)

Anyhow - it's almost APRIL - was kinda busy helping out for my neice's 1st birthday, invites, favors, centerpieces. The next project will be EASTER GOODIES... (well - Ian won't let me make any for his class) - but I've got neices and co-worker daughters that I can give to. ;)... what to make...

Till next time all'

Happy Girl's Day 2012

2012-03-03T03:01:00.000-08:00

Happy Girl's Day everyone! It's a special day for all the girl's out there. Hope it's a fun day! - Below I made some little goodies for the special "girls" (and not so little girl's) in my life.

Besides it being GIRL's DAY - today is also my 17th Wedding Anniversary. (yes...17! YIKES!) - Where did the time go? It just flew by. It's been one CRAZY ride!!

A little something for my co-workers daughter - she's a pretty bright little girl - hope she likes the japanese doll bookmark, some nail BLING and ofcourse the chocolates.

I made some "extras" for the "NOT SO LITTLE" GIRLS in my life!! ha ha...(for the little girl inside)

Bridal Shower - The Crafts/Gifts

2012-02-19T17:42:00.000-08:00

Now that the shower is done - I can have a bit of "creative" rest. ;) (until the next party I say) Anyhow - the following is "other" crafts that I made.

Made a little gift drawer for the bride to be

Inside the drawer was a little nightie - not as "risque" as the other pieces she got at the shower (hee hee)

A set of crockpot recipe cards for her . (geez. I think I mispelled her name...)

The other goodies I gave her...the crockpot to match the recipe cards.

Made some post-it holders - used in goodie bags for some of the prizes for the games.

The centerpieces. ;)
