Adding an image on top of the blog

2009-08-20T21:46:00.014+05:30

Adding an image to the top of the blog is very easy.All you have to do is edit your html a bit.Minima template is the best template to try out all your experiments.

First select the image you want to put as your header.Note that it fits in 660 pixcel width,else it won't fit correctly in your header.In later posts I will explain how to use width greater than 660PX.Your height can be as big or small as you want.
Then go to Layout->Edit HTML.Find the code under the Header section and edit it with the below code

#header {
width:660px;
height:300px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid #ccc;
background: #fff url('http://your image.jpg')no-repeat center;
text-align: center;
}

If you are wondering what is given in this code...don't worry, I am here to explain it for you!!!
I have given Width as 660PX (PX means pixel).
Next Height you can give anything of your choice...first give 300 and see,you will get an idea of how your image looks.Then alter the value depending on how your image is seen on the screen.
Next what mainly you have to notice is the border.Here I have given 1PX.But sometimes you can see that the border is popping out of your image.So change border to 0PX if you don't want that.
In background,you have to give the link to the image you want to put in your header.
And last,text-align is for aligning your heading as you like.Here I have put center.You can change it to "top left","top right" or as you want your heading to be shown.

Hope you find this post useful.If you have any doubts, you can very well write to me.

GOD had a wish!!

2008-12-06T16:04:00.009+05:30

I wish GOD YOU sent me to the earth with a silver spoon,
I wish YOU gave me the best brains of the world,
I wish YOU made me fearless when darkness enveloped me,

I wish YOU made me admired by all like nobody in this world,
I wish YOU made each day of my life better like never before,
I wish YOU sent every person in my life who were a angel in disguise,

Oh GOD..I wish YOU gave me all that I need...

Then GOD smiled and wished,
"I wish You were happy with all that I gave..."

DUMB THOUGHTS

2008-12-05T22:01:00.002+05:30

There are few things which are jus tooo DUMB to think of...Got them from the net.

See how crazy it can be,

Why do we press the start button to turn off the computer?
If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth?
Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
Does the postman deliver his own mail?
Can you cry under water?
How far east can you go before you're heading west?
Do dentists go to other dentists or do they just do it themselves?
Can you daydream at night?
Can animals commit suicide?
If a doctor suddenly had a heart attack while doing surgery, would the other doctors work on the doctor or the patient?
Do prison buses have emergency exits?
When lightning strikes the ocean why don't all the fish die?
Do you wake up or open your eyes first?
What do Greeks say when they don't understand something?
Why do we say we're head over heels when we're happy? Isn't that the way we normally are?

TOO BAD :(

2008-12-04T19:19:00.002+05:30

There are few things in life which you just don't expect for it to happen to you.

Like the ones here:

You are walking in the road along with your friends enjoying teasing each other and laughing out loud. Your group getting the attention of most of them their,and then...all of a sudden you feel something hard against your toes and find yourself forcibly pushed against the road and fall straight on your face. For a few seconds everything around you grays out.And before you could realize what has happened to you, their is a huge crowd around you.Half with concern and half controlling their giggle.And you in at most embarrassment..feeling sick and trying to ignore eye contact with all the people out there.

You are watching one of your favourite movies on TV,which you had been dying to see for a long time.It is the climax,the scene goes like......the villain is running as if he is running a 1000m relay,with a mask on his face covering his identity.The hero is chasing him hard with almost his veins protruding out and his well built hand muscles showing his strength.You are sitting in the edge of the seat as the hero stretches out his hand to get the villain's shirt.The shirt almost gets torn and after a big fight the hero gets the villain in his clutches.He is now to see who is on the other side of the mask and you are also anxiously waiting to see that.Your eye balls almost popping out.....and the whole screen suddenly goes blank.You are fuming with anger at the EBwala.CURRENT OFF!!

You are attending one of the most boring classes.Your teacher is reading out a lesson and its like you are hearing your mom telling you one of your favourite bedtime stories.Your eyelids are drooping from drowsiness.With great efforts you try to drag it open..but in vain, your eyes stop listening to you and then there is a big pause....its just you and your sleep.And then you wake up with a loud sound like a thunder falling on your head.You are almost frozen with your heart pumping hard.And the next minute you find yourself standing erect infront of your mam who is angrily staring at you and the whole class bursts out in laughter.

You are interestingly doing a painting.Trying to be very choosy and creative with the colours.And your hard work seemed to have paid you more than what you actually expected.Your face is almost full of teeths.Admiring from each angle the beauty and the realistic of your painting,not realizing that your 6 year old brother had something else for you.He who is supposedly driving his BMW, dashes against you so hard that you lose your balance and the palette full of wet colours splatters on your painting.And when you get back to your feet.It's already too late.You see your picture fully sprayed with all the colours from your palette.

COLLEGE DAYZZ!!!

2008-12-02T20:13:00.002+05:30

Just can't forget those days when we made rules to break rules....yeah our College Dayzz!!!

Starting from ragging where we always showed our seniors the innocence in our faces,and well behind their backs showed the attitude in us.
Never bothered to give our ears to the long lectures of our professors,who better fit in the job of a news-reader.(Sorry proff"s :))
Borrow books from our friends....hoping to study in the next 24 hours,and really wish there were 36 hours a day during the exam.
Birthdays better called as bankrupt day for the b'day buddies and all the chota-mota fights which just blows off in the air with the time.
Have a blast at the inter-culturals with all dressed best and shout out slogans to support our team which almost tares others ear drums.

And then the day comes....

The past unfolds in our mind....

With the horizon ahead...

And we all part with just a hope...

"Its just a interval...the movie still continues..".

NO END TO IMAGINATION

2008-12-01T20:46:00.001+05:30

Albert Einstein said, "Imagination…is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Imagination - It has no limits,no barriers,no boundaries. It cannot be confined. It is like a open sky. Things which are impossible in real world are possible in imaginary world.It takes us to a world that doesn't exists.

Whenever I see films showing unimaginable things I ask to myself "will they ever exist...?" But in times to go some have become reality.There were days when people thought that robots were only in films,cloning is just impossible,moon is always that we can see only from earth,but human brain has proved it all wrong. So this all only makes me think that imagination is the first step to reality.

But what about things which are merely impossible. Take an example of the famous Harry potter series by J.K.Rowling's. Can you just imagine there are people who can fly in the sky with their brooms and can cast magic spells with their wand or just by dashing into a wall you can just go into a completely new world. In one of Rowling's speeches at Harvard commencement she talked about the importance of imagination as it had played a great part in rebuilding her life. Rowling said: "We do not need magic to transform our world," she said. "We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already; we have the power to imagine better."

Its like girls often imagine themselves being in the limelight like say walking a ramp after being crowned Miss.World or Miss.Universe with people around seeing them with awe and admiration. And boys imagine as if they are sitting inside a car like one that comes in James Bond films or a talking car with artificial intelligence as in the Knight Rider TV show and drive them as if these cars have only accelerators and no breaks.If you no way fit into this category just don't mind..start igniting your imagination.

I sometimes imagine myself to be in a world which has become stand still except me, and I am singing like nobody hearing me to the tunes which is coming from nowhere. And sometimes I imagine myself touching a big dark screen which seems to have risen from deep darkness and going to a endless height..and I name it in my own imaginative style 'Beginning Of Universe'.

I know some of you might think it as unworthy, inane, absurd , meaningless thinking of something which just do not exist. But it is a power to imagine which is inbuilt in us. Imagining is like challenging ourselves with what we are and what we want to be. Imagination is a whole new world where everybody is welcome to explore his or her inner thoughts, feelings, desires.So all I want to tell you people is imagine the unimaginable...blow all the dust from your brain and drill out all the hidden imaginations that you have never bothered to give a slightest consideration. And see a whole new world dancing to your tunes.
