E' un animaletto vasiforme attaccato al fondo dell'involucro senza formazione di peduncolo interno, Ospita generalmente due individui che sorpassano largamente l'orifizio. Ancora &amp;nbsp;numerosi &amp;nbsp;"gruppi di fagocitazione" rinvenuti in un campione d'acqua prelevato da uno specchio d'acqua artificiale alimentato solo da acqua piovana. Una bella sequenza di eliozoi di diverse specie tutte rinvenute nella stessa goccia d'acqua dalla quale ho tratto anche le immagini dei gruppi di fagocitazione che ho postato precedentemente.&lt;br /&gt;

Sono tutti "gruppi di fagocitazione".&lt;br /&gt;
Sono costituiti da più individui (eliozoi) i quali si coalizzano in un corpo unico al fine di poter cacciare anche microrganismi più grossi rispetto alla piccola taglia del singolo animaletto. Una volta terminata la caccia, ogni eliozoo si "stacca" e torna ad essere un singolo individuo.&lt;br /&gt;
