Happy Teacher`s Day

Oh wow berhabuk and bersawang my blog niee kan... Nak cuci-cuci sekejap and lepas niee nak tulis skit pasal Teachers. Today is Teacher's Day in Malaysia, 16 May 2012. A few great teachers have come to my life since my primary school, university and of course my career life. 3 of these people that I want to mention today have basically the same character when comes to their values as teachers and mentors. Orang yang paling berpengaruh dalam hidup kita selain parents are of course TEACHERS lah or in Malay we call it tenaga pengajar. Come to my 40s, I think I would like to mention a few names that have influenced to my life, them being my TEACHERS. In no favorite order only follow chronology :) Masa sekolah menengah, I always admire Cikgu Zaiton, telah kembali ke rahmatullah tahun lalu. Seorang guru yg cukup berkaliber, berdedikasi dan you all takkan jumpa laaa cikgu yang sebegini rupanya. I think many students have had a crush on her life in teaching. Kerja dengan penuh passionate. She was also a warden, a great English teacher for most of us at school. Thanks a lot for your guidance and I will remember your kewanitaan yang cukup tinggi. Berpakaian kemas, bauan yang amat wangi, very presentable. How presentable she is had portrayed how presentable her class always be. Perfectionist and high expectation. If she didn't like what you do she would tell you off immediately, just before you knew it. Al-fatihah to her and thanks a zillion once again coz I have crossed that path with YOU as a student-teacher thingy! Masa dekat University pulak agak culture shock dapat pergi ke luar negara. Gara2 penangan Cikgu Zaiton tadi. Sebab dulu menci bahasa Engris. Dalam menci kena suka laa sebab dah di negaraorang putih. Al kisah masuklah undergraduate di University of Iowa. Kita rasa macam kita niee alien duduk belajar kat negeri orang kan. Itu kira dekat 18 tahun yg lalu, tak ramai student dapat opportunity. So each student in School of Liberal Arts was given an advisor. I am very close monitor on my achievement and what course to make and take, maklumlah agak bodoh gitu. The person is none other than Bob Kirby of University of Iowa. I think he is still around the university. Dah lama tu maybe ada laaa lebih 20 tahun di UI agaknya. Dia niee tak laa macam Cikgu Zaiton, sopan santun, kemas berpakaian. Dia niee agak messy, rambut panjang macam hippies gitu, selekeh laaa. Tapi have a very dynamic character. Badan pun agaknya time salji tak pernah mandi kot. Harap2 dia tak paham. Suka berinteraksi sesama student. I am bless having a mentor such as him. Again, very straight forward kind of person, very firm. What you want to achieve end of the day? Very simple and passionate towards the student. Very rare kind of person if you ever can find em these days. Hope he is still doing very well at the University and thank you so much for the exposure and guidance thruout 4 years di negara orang, kerana di sinun tidak menarik langsung hanya ada ladang tebu and ladang ternak khinzir. What an experience! Masa kerja pulak, begini ceritanya tapi agak reserve skit because I am still here working in Xerox for the last 15 years. And my mentor niee pulak he is my ex-boss but he still around laaa. Dia dah berada di bahagian Top Management of Fuji Xerox. Sama jee pendekatannya dengan my 2 other mentors, seorang yang straight forward, high expectations and will give you the guidance as long as you look interested to your nature of work . Passionate to nature of work for whatever reason that is or will be. Masih lagi aktif memberi pandangan and tunjuk ajar. Tapi kekadang sebab kita pun dah berumur, agak tak setuju jua dengan pandangannya. I call him Boss up till now and he is Mr Theven ;) Till then... apa cite korang? Masih mengingati cikgu2 kalian lagi tak? Selamat Hari Guru/Pengajar/Pendidik/Mentor ;)

Now Everyone Can DRINK... What a joke!

Now everyone can drink.

Arriving in a hotel in KL Sentral he went to the bar and asked for a pint of
draught Guinness. The barman nodded and said, “That will be one Ringgit
please, Uncle Tony.”

Somewhat taken aback, Uncle Tony replied, “That’s very cheap,” and handed
over his money.
“Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition”, said the
barman. “And we are serving free pints every Wednesday evening
from 6 until 8. We have the cheapest draught in Asia”
“That is remarkable value” Uncle Tony comments
“I see you don’t seem to have a glass, so you’ll probably need one of ours.
That will be 3 Ringgit please.”
Uncle Tony scowled, but paid up. He took his drink and walked towards a
seat. “Ah, you want to sit down?” said the barman. “That’ll be an extra 2 Ringgit
You could have pre-book the seat, and it would have only cost you a Ringgit”
“I think you may to be too big for the seat sir, can I ask you to sit in
this frame please”. Uncle Tony attempts to sit down but the frame is too small and when he
can’t squeeze in he complains “Nobody would fit in that little frame”.
“I’m afraid if you can’t fit in the frame you’ll have to pay an extra
surcharge of RM 4 for your seat sir”
Tony swore to himself, but paid up. “I see that you have brought your
laptop with you” added the barman. “And since that wasn’t pre-booked
either, that will be another 3 Ringgit”
Uncle Tony was so annoyed that he walked back to the bar, slammed his drink
on the counter, and yelled, “This is ridiculous, I want to speak to the
manager”.
“Ah, I see you want to use the counter,” says the barman, “that will
be 2 Ringgit please.” Uncle’s face was red with rage.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Of course I do Mr Fernandes”, from the barman
“I’ve had enough, What sort of Hotel is this? I come in for a quiet drink
and you treat me like this. I insist on speaking to a manager!”
“Here is his E mail address, or if you wish, you can contact him between 9
and 9.10 every morning, Monday to Tuesday at this free phone number. Calls are free,
until they are answered, then there is a talking charge of only 10 sen per
second provided you use Tune Talk using other mobile carriers would incur
our normal charges of 30 Sen per second
“I will never use this bar again”
“OK Uncle , but remember, we are the only bar in Asia selling pints for one Ringgit…so that Now everyone can drink “

Felda HotSpring Sungai Klah Sungkai

Last 2 weeks was it? Aiyoo I couldn't remember the date. It wasn't a plan holidays but I did my bookings unintentionally thru the website. They asked me to pay 50% by that date to get it secure. As usual, the day before the booking date, the resort recepitonist called. Do you still want it? I was a bit blur, want what? The room for 2 nites. Hmmm... oooo Hotsrping yeak. Ok lah... can also lah ;)

Ask my hubby. Jom laaaaa pergi jalan2. He said, Ok lah! Of course kids were very happy. Felda Hotspring Sungai Klah is 1 hour and 20 minutes from KL. Exit at Sungkai, pay your tol and turn left. Then left again. You need to go thru Felda village then only you will see the place. Its around 9 KM from the main road.

Our first impression was hmmmm ok! But the room price is at higher rate considering this place is not near to town area, maybe its the exclusivity. Room is at RM250 per nite. If you have extra people they will charge you extra RM30 for each. This RM30 inclusive of entrance to Hotspring and buffet breakfast. Enuf about the hotel.

With kids around of course they didnt want to just sit inside the room. First thing they did were to run to the hotspring. Its actually 5 minutes walked from our room. Room 102 btw, quite big for extra 2 kids... psssttttt have bathtub too.

This is the flow of so hot water up to 60 Degree C. I saw a guy hot his baby milk bottle here and it worked of course! My kids afraid to try to even touch the water flow ;) The water will flow thru the main stream and to a lot of man made compartment bowl and stream around the recreational areas.

Last but not least you can boil your eggs here. They sell the eggs 5 for RM2.50 with "kicap" or soya source. Some even brought a whole of 30 eggs to the place. If half boiled, you need only 2-3minutes to do it. Awesome right! And that's Arissa's and my favorite breakfast, half boiled eggs. With that, I hope it helps a lot if you want to try the place for family vacay.

It always come back to nature! Shall we? Till then we will come back again with more Visit Malaysia, our beloved country!

Sekadar Bercerita... Bacalah wahai Kekasihku!

Seorang wanita sedang keluar dari rumahnya apabila dia terlihat tiga orang lelaki tua berjanggut panjang yang berwarna putih sedang duduk dihalaman rumahnya.
Dia tidak kenal akan mereka.

Wanita itu bertanya,
" Saya tidak fikir saya mengenali awak semua, tetapi saya pasti awak semua mesti sedang lapar.. Silalah masuk kerumah saya dan makan sesuatu.

"Adakah suami awak ada dirumah?", mereka bertanya.
"Tidak", wanita itu berkata.
"Suami saya telah keluar."
"Jadi, kami tidak akan masuk", mereka menjawab.

Sewaktu suaminya pulang ke rumah pada petang itu, wanita itu pun memberitahunya kejadian tersebut.
"Pergi beritahu mereka bahawa saya telah balik dan menjemput mereka masuk kedalam sekarang!" Wanita itu keluar dan menjemput ketiga-tiga lelaki tua itu masuk ke dalam.

"Kami tidak akan masuk ke dalam rumah bersama-sama,"
"Mengapa begitu?" wanita itu ingin tahu.
Salah seorang dari lelaki tua itu pun menerangkan :

"Namanya ialah Kekayaan," Dia berkata sambil menunjuk ke arah salah seorang kawannya,
dan beralih menunjuk kearah kawan yang seorang lagi,
Dia adalah Kejayaan,
dan saya adalah Kasih Sayang.."

Dia menyambung lagi, "Sekarang masuklah semula kedalam rumah dan berbincanglah dengan suami awak, siapakah di antara kami bertiga yang kamu ingin jemput kedalam rumah.

"Wanita itu pun masuk semula kedalam dan memberitahu suaminya perkara tersebut. Suaminya berasa sungguh gembira.
"Bagusnya!!" dia berkata.

"Kalau macam tu jemputlah Kekayaan masuk.
Biar dia masuk dan mengisi rumah kita ini dengan Kekayaan!"Isterinya tidak bersetuju.

"Abang, kenapa pula kita tidak menjemput Kejayaan?"

Kebetulan, anak perempuan mereka juga sedang mendengar perbualan itu dari satu sudut rumah yang lain. Dia lalu menyampuk dan memberikan pandangannya :

"Bukankah lebih baik sekiranya kita menjemput Kasih Sayang?Rumah kita ini pasti akan diselubungi dengan Kasih Sayang!"
"Biarlah kita mengikut nasihat anak kita itu," kata suami itu kepada isterinya.
"Keluar dan jemputlah Kasih Sayang sebagai tetamu kita."
Wanita itu pun keluar dan bertanya kepada tiga lelaki tua,
"Yang mana satu di antara kamu adalah Kasih Sayang? Silalah masuk dan jadi tetamu kami.
"Kasih Sayang bangun dan mula berjalan ke arah rumah.
Kedua-dua lelaki yang lain juga bangun dan mengikutinya.

Terperanjat, wanita itu pun bertanya kepada Kekayaan dan Kejayaan :

"Saya cuma menjemput Kasih Sayang, mengapa kamu juga ikut sekali?"
Mereka semua menjawab:

"Jika awak menjemput samada Kekayaan atau Kejayaan, yang lain akan tunggu diluar, tetapi oleh kerana awak telah menjemput Kasih Sayang, ke mana-mana sahaja dia pergi, kami akan pergi bersamanya..

Souls During Ramadhan

I read this in a facebook note from one of the friends' friend. It was in Malay but basically this is how it is. Was cited to her during one of the gathering we called it Usrah right before Ramadhan. It talked about SOULS.

As Ramadhan started 8 days ago, all souls gather in Luh Mahfuz to seek approval from Allah to go down to Earth. Some are permitted, some are not. Those who are allowed to go back to the Earth are those who have done good deeds throughout their lives when they were alive or those who have been blessed by prayers from either their children or relatives and friends. Those who are not allowed are those who have sinned when they were alive and have not receive any prayers from those who are still alive ever since.

When they reach Earth first thing they do is to visit their own graves, to see their bodies. Then, these souls will then pay a visit to the homes of their families – their children’s, to houses of those who receive their wasiat or will and to the houses where the occupants extend prayers for them. All in the hope that those they visited will continue to pray for them in the after-world. These visits will continue until the start of Aidil Fitri which marks the end of Ramadhan.

Usually we chanted the Takbir Hari Raya or praises to Allah as from the eve of the festival. At the start of Aidil Fitri, the souls will bid good-bye to their own bodies and to those they have visited and bring along with them all those prayers they have received throughout the holy month.

The hadith said he is being cut-off from everything except three – prayers from the children, beneficial knowledge they acquired when they were alive and good deeds they have done.

Now as I type this, you will be missing your late members in your family.

Al-Fatihah for them and to those who have departed before this moment. Al-Fatihah. “Setinggi mana kasih sayangku, Allah lebih berhak menyayangimu. Damailah engkau di sana, dibawah rahmat dan kasih-sayangNya. Sesungguhnya aku akan menyusulmu dikemudian hari. Al-Fatihah buat semua muslimin dan muslimat yang telah pergi.”

Till then we shall kemaskan kubur before Ramadhan. Why? Those souls akan tersenyum tengok kubur mereka bukan macam dalam hutan belantara. Itulah yang terbaik. Wallahualam!

Love and Cinta is not GOD?

With nowadays social networking, the BUMP INTO with the ex-es is as easy as ABC and you have to trust me on that! I have been there and went thru it!

LOVE IS NOT GOD!

Seorang suami pernah meluahkan rasa hatinya kepada saya. Yakni tentang gangguan perasaan yang dialaminya. Dia diusik kenangan lama apabila bertemu dengan bekas kekasihnya semula. Entah kenapa perasaan cinta mereka seakan berputik kembali.

"Kami terlalu cinta. Malangnya kami tidak ada jodoh. Kami terpaksa berpisah dan kemudiannya menemui jodoh masing-masing."

Dia mengadu setelah hampir sepuluh tahun, tidak sangka hatinya masih berbunga cinta. Dan ajaibnya cinta, ia tidak mengenal usia. Sedangkan kini dia sudah punya dua orang anak dan bekas kekasihnya pun ada seorang anak. Masing-masing sudah punya keluarga.

"Apa masalahnya?" tanya saya seperti sukar memahaminya.

Dia kemudian mengakuinya bahawa bekas kekasihnya pun rupa-rupanya juga masih mencintainya.

Cinta bukan Tuhan, itulah jawapan pendek yang saya berikan padanya. Saya tegaskan tidak semua kehendak cinta mesti kita patuhi. Bila cinta melanggar batas-batas rasional, nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan yang paling utama melanggar syariat, kehendaknya mesti dihentikan.

Saya ingatkan kepadanya, pertimbangkanlah bagaimana nasib isteri dan anak-anaknya nanti jika kehendak cinta yang "gila" itu dipenuhi. Pergi memburu cinta yang tidak pasti, lalu meninggalkan anak-anak dan isteri yang diamanahkan Allah... Berbaloikah?

Dan yang paling utama, bagaimana pula hukum Allah yang akan dilanggar jika hubungan terlarang (haram) itu diteruskan? Mencinta isteri dan suami orang adalah haram. Curang itu khianat. Khianat itu adalah antara ciri kemunafikan.

Ya, cinta memang buta, tetapi orang yang bercinta (lebih-lebih lagi orang beriman) jangan pula sampai buta mata hati untuk mengawal dan mengendalikan rasa cinta. Demi cinta sanggup berdosa? Demi cinta sanggup menempah neraka? Fikir dan zikirkanlah (ingatkanlah)!

Malangnya, begitulah realitinya kini.

Cinta dimartabatkan terlalu agung dan disanjung membumbung... Demi cinta segala-galanya berani diterjah dan sanggup diredah. Tidak percaya? Bacalah masalah-masalah masyarakat yang dipaparkan di dada akhbar atau majalah. Isteri jatuh cinta pada suami orang. Suami jatuh cinta kepada wanita lain dan rela meminggirkan isteri sendiri. Bila ditanya kenapa? Kebanyakannya menjawab, "apa boleh buat, kami sudah jatuh cinta!"

Inilah gara-gara dan bahananya menonton filem cinta versi Bollywood, Hollywood atau filem-filem "yang sewaktu dengannya". Inilah impak lagu-lagu cinta yang menyumbat telinga dan menyempitkan jiwa. Secara tidak sedar filem-filem dan lagu-lagu itu telah menawan "akal bawah sedar" sesetengah masyarakat, bukan sahaja remaja, bahkan "retua" hingga sanggup menobatkan cinta sebagai Tuhan dalam kehidupan.

Lihat sahaja bagaimana hero dan heroin dalam filem-filem tersebut sanggup melepasi apa jua halangan demi penyatuan cinta mereka. Pengorbanan demi cinta disanjung dan dipuja walaupun jelas melanggar tatasusila dalam beragama. Kerap kali ibu-bapa dipinggirkan, kononnya kerana menghalang kehendak cinta. Apa sahaja plot dan klimaks cerita, cinta akan dimenangkan.

Seolah-olah tujuan hidup manusia hanya semata-mata untuk cinta!

Mari kita renung sejenak. Cuba tanyakan siapakah yang mengurniakan rasa cinta di dalam hati setiap manusia? Tentu sahaja jawabnya ialah Allah. Allah mencipta manusia, hati, akal dan perasaannya. Cinta itu fitrah yang dikurniakan Allah pada setiap hati. Lalu kita tanyakan lagi untuk apakah Allah berikan naluri cinta ini?

Cinta Hanya Jalan, Bukan Tujuan

Cinta itu bukan tujuan... Cinta itu hanya jalan. Cinta itu bukan matlamat, cinta itu cuma alat. Rasa ingin mencintai dan dicintai dalam diri setiap manusia pada hakikatnya adalah untuk membolehkan manusia melaksanakan tujuan ia diciptakan. Cinta itu mengikat hati antara lelaki dengan wanita untuk sama-sama membentuk ikatan perkahwinan demi menyempurnakan agama. Justeru kerana itulah Rasulullah s.a.w telah bersabda:

"Barang siapa yang berkahwin maka sempurnalah separuh agamanya, tinggal separuh lagi untuk dilaksanakan."

Cinta memang penting, tetapi ibadah dan menegakkan hukum Allah jauh lebih penting. Sayangnya, hakikat ini sangat jarang difahami dan dihayati oleh orang yang bercinta. Tujuan cinta sering dipinggirkan. Ibadah dan hukum Allah yang tinggi dan suci telah dipinggirkan hanya kerana cinta. Kononnya, cinta itu sangat suci dan tinggi.

Mungkin rasa seperti itulah yang berbunga di dalam jiwa si suami yang diimbau nostalgia cinta lama oleh bekas kekasihnya yang saya sebut pada awal tulisan ini. Kerana cinta, terdetik dalam hatinya untuk bersama bekas kekasih walaupun terpaksa mengorbankan anak dan isterinya. Mungkin rasa cinta itulah juga yang menyebabkan ramai wanita mengorbankan kehormatan diri kepada kekasih hati demi membuktikan ketulusan cintanya. Mungkin kerana itulah juga seorang anak sanggup berpisah dengan ibu-bapanya demi memburu cinta.

Bertuhankan cinta samalah bertuhankan hawa nafsu. Bila tujuan suci dan hakiki dipinggirkan, timbullah tujuan keji dan ilusi sebagai ganti. Sering terjadi nafsu seks dijadikan tujuan di sebalik rasa cinta. Cinta yang berbaur dengan kehendak seks inilah yang pernah dikecam oleh Al Farabi dengan katanya:

"Cinta yang berlandaskan nafsu seks adalah cinta yang diilhamkan oleh Tuhan kepada haiwan!"

Ironinya, ada yang berkata, "lelaki memberi cinta untuk mendapatkan seks. Wanita memberi seks untuk mendapatkan cinta."

Eksploitasi dan manipulasi cinta ini tidak akan memberi kebahagiaan kepada sesiapa – baik kepada lelaki mahupun kepada wanita. Lelaki yang mendapat seks dengan memperalatkan cinta, tidak akan pernah puas. Kehendak nafsu tidak terbatas dan tidak akan pernah puas. Melayani nafsu, umpama minum air laut... semakin diminum, semakin haus.

Manakala wanita yang memberi seks, kononnya untuk mendapat cinta, tidak akan mendapat cinta yang sejati. Mereka hanya akan menemui kasanova dan lelaki hidung belang yang hanya cinta sebelum dapat apa yang diidamkan, tetapi tunggulah sebaik sahaja habis manis sepahnya dibuang. Wanita-wanita malang ini bukan hanya kehilangan cinta, tetapi hilang maruah, kehormatan dan harga diri.

Letakkanlah cinta sebagai alat untuk beribadah kepada Allah. Wujudkanlah rumah tangga bahagia yang menjadi wadah tertegaknya kalimah Allah.

SYURGA RUMAHTANGGA

Binalah rumah-tangga di tapak iman

Tuluskan niat luruskanlah matlamat

Suami pemimpin arah tujuan

Isteri pembantu sepanjang jalan

Lalu mulakanlah kembara berdua

Kerana dan untuk... Allah jua

Di tapak iman dirikanlah hukum Tuhan

Iman itu tujuan Islam itu jalan

tempat merujuk segala kekusutan

tempat mencari semua penyelesaian

rumah jadi sambungan madrasah

berputiklah mawaddah...

berbuahlah rahmah

Inilah kunci kebahagiaan rumah-tangga

setia dan penyayang seorang suami

cinta dan kasih seorang isteri

Lalu berbuahlah mahmudah demi mahmudah

lahirlah zuriat yang soleh dan solehah!

BERSIH 2.0 : CLEAN it's in English

Last few weeks we have been listening to people and media go all out about this thingy called Bersih. I dont really care much about Bersih daaaaa. But because my closed family members scattered everywhere are very active in politics, then I try to figure out. We have BN, PKR and PAS in the house of descendant Arwah Syed Osman:) I wonder why they joined politics in the first place. I hope its for a good deed to help the society and the country.

My sister for instance has been in and out of politics for years now, huh. Maybe due to change of ideology in that parties that she cant stand. Only people in the parties will know. And we need to realize that we rakyat actually didn't know much. Only people in politics know how dirty the politics is or how clean for that matter. If we are not part of them we are supposedly cannot comment much. So how do we leave with and in it, and who do we to trust and the need to trust?

Some of us don't even have a clue on how the politics works. That was why the approach for politicians are different if you're in different areas example in village as compared to in KL. However, nowadays politicians must understand that even in rural area the information travel thru many means and it can be there in split seconds. Thus, they need to be careful. Dont tell me kampung boy dont have FB or twitter or even a blog huh ;) My basic comment is when we are in any situation such as this, we as a society and an individual needs to do some evaluation and homework on who they are. How often they change their ideology/gies? How do they stand as politicians and leaders in our eyes. How do they make decision if you see them change decision frequently, what does that mean? It could be that they have a lot of voice around them that they cant really stick to when it comes to ultimate one. BTW, this can also be applied in the office... kekeke

I gave you a very classic example on how Tun M take care of Malaysia. No doubt that it is not easy to be a leader for a country but he stood still many years and he is the one with a firm decision, very charismatic. You will not see many people come by such as him. How many times he changes his decision that we rakyat is aware, in his life as a leader. He could be smart and intelligent personally but I am sure he's around allies play the most crucial influence towards him. In Malay we called it, "Pendirian yang teguh dan saksama" and hey no turning back once it is made.

Not everyone is perfect of course, he will also has his flaw. But who cares if you take care of Malaysia that much. Even if he's taking our money 100%, he actually giving back to us more than we could ever think of. That is called The Leader. Am I doing good? I mean my Engrend lah ;)

It's a very lonely task up there as a leader. Hmm where were we... Actually I just want emphasize that Bersih 2.0 its not a joke. Its a rally that wants to speak for itself on upcoming erection. I mean election, sorry on my typo error BTW.

Do I care? of course I do... I have Sport Day on 9th July and I have to go to pick kids and everyone else have got many plan that day. Do we need to cancel that? Looking at whenever the government really caught whoever that wore yellow-T and do roadblocks, I just can smile and many will do the same. Its ridiculous right and I hate when I saw DSAI name printed everywhere. Just leave him alone lah. Why so worried about DSAI? We have a country to look after and not DSAI lah. For god sake!

All in all, as a mom, I love this country very much. When you have the power to decide, do it responsibly. Maybe for all we know the rally is a bad idea and for all we know, the rally will make us change on our way in the voting room. Maybe no change at all. Who is the auditor E&Y? kekekeke

As plain as I can say, I realize one thing as a layman person and a woman, only KOTOR (dirty) people afraid of BESIH (clean). "Politik kotor, korupsi kotor, kerajaan kotor, polis kotor, hakim hakim kotor", so these are the people that have brought disrespect to Malaysia. With that on the 9th July rally, do I have to care? Transformers 3: Dark, Moon, Something

Ok let me tell ya what happened. I don’t really fancy pop-corn when watching movies at cinema. I always want something heavy like fries or chicken nuggets or even burger. So you know right, what I always want to bring inside the cinema.I was really good at bringing all those literally inside. Of course as mom I will have humongous bag with me. That kind of bag is called trendy handbag. So when I know I am going to watch movies I will bring big handbag. My so called new hubby didn’t know my habits of sneaking around with outside food. At times, its Ikea curry puffs, or the hotdogs. The one sell at cinema is not that good and daaaa... its very expensive.

So what happened last weekend at the Dark of the Moon. 4 of us... yup 4 of us and I don’t encourage my kids eat popcorns. Arissa was with her coughing. Popcorn will be a no-no. Where were we? So the kids with no choice they have to follow what Ummi have ordered. So I ended up ordering value set meals at mcD. Cheap right, only RM4 plus with drinks. So I ordered 2 sets. I have to put all inside my lovely bag.

As I walked, I felt my feet cold with some drippings of water. The movie has already started and gosh we needed to walk fast and not to make it obvious that I brought all the food from mcD. As we found our sit and about to take out everything, I realized my half of the legs were very cold and smells like a mix of hot fries with coke, and guess what happened to my things inside the handbag? Its either floating or sinking with a water called COKE: my purse, makeup, handphone, perfume and office nametag! OMG what should I do. The 3 of them couldn’t be bothered as they were watching the movie and whatever I said was just disappeared with the super duper soundtrack of Transformers.

The kids started to ask for fries and nuggets and bla bla bla. Thank god I still can save their burgers and some of the fries and chicken nuggets. All other were really wet and wet. I did’t have tissue with me and mcD only gave me 2 tissues. This was the climax!

The other thing that I didn’t mention was I had a spare of sanitary pad inside my bag. Luckily I have this gals, if not I don’t know what will happen. It absorb the coke like nobody business! But I only have one, which I should have bring more, I don’t think even tissue can help much ;)

So the entire movie has become a coke dry-in movie for me with a sanitary pad, of course! Very uncomfortable and have to go to washroom to clean my pants. I took out all my stuff in the dark and put em on my seat. And I know the kids and hubby didn’t even realized the whole drama just because its Transformers!

Will I do it again. Yes I will and next time am thinking of just Ikea curry puffs or hotdogs and bottled mineral water TO GO! So WHAT? Till then, enjoy your day :one at a time! Bye…

Netbooks vs Tablets

Gosh since last week was talking about this and many many reviews were read and being adsorb to our brains.

We are in the cross road but of all the readings that I have read, this one is our best to share with everyone of you, Gadget Cross-Road! This is from my Mobile Raptor. Please read ya...

As a standalone device. If you are planning to buy one of these two devices to be your primary computer, which would be best. Someone on a budget, looking for a standalone device is best of with a netbook. A tablet, for now, is still an accessory to another computer. Listen its a accessory to another computer.

Why? Mainly the absence of a physical keyboard and storage. The biggest drawback of the tablet, and advantage of the netbook in this regard is storage. The absence of a USB port so it can hooked up to am external drive really makes it an accessory to another machine. You are limited you to 16GB of storage which can be expanded through MicroSD cards. The Aspire one 522 has 250GB of storage. Matching this would mean seven 32GB MicroSD (well almost anyway). Seven 32GB Micro SD card will cost you more than a Aspire One. So if you need more storage than 16-48GB, you might as well buy both a tablet and a netbook.

As a multimedia device. The Acer Aspire One 522 in this case can play and output 1080p HD video through an HDMI port. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is limited to 720p playback and has no HDMI out. Because of this, we think the netbook makes a better multimedia device. But unless you plan to hook it up to an LCD TV, the Aspire One's advantages, 1080p play back ability and HDMI out, is of little important.

As a daily companion. As light as the Acer Aspire One 522 is, it still will weight almost 3 pounds. You can carry it everyday, but you will know you are carrying a netbook. At a bit more than 10 x 7 inches in size, and an inch thick, it is also still fairly large. The Samsung Galaxy Tab at 0.84 pounds and about 7.5 x 4.7 x 0.47 inches, and is less than one-fourth the size of a netbook.

Aside of being smaller and lighter, the Galaxy Tab will give you more endurance. It should give you six hours of real world use, while the Aspire One 522, a little more than four hours. The camera on the Samsung Galaxy Tab is nothing to crow about, it takes decent 720p video, so it doubles as a video camera.

Decisions. We could go on, but it depends more on what you want, than what it can do. So, which is best for you? I can only draw on personal experiences.

Having bought a netbooks myself, in 2008, and a second one in 2009, I finally ditched netbook for good replacing it with a very light full powered laptop. If you want a highly portable laptop on a limited budget, than get the netbook. If is still a laptop, just a smaller less powerful version. A tablet, never cross my mind. It is simply really, I wanted a keyboard. As a laptop alternative, netbook is a better choice than a tablet, and the main reason is the physical keyboard. This guy is good!

My wife and a friend of mine, both early tablet adopters, never owned netbooks. One uses a 14-inch HP laptop, and the other a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro. In selecting their laptops, they did not go with the most portable options available. Portability of the laptop was not the number one priority, and they both do not in-fact carry their laptop around much on a daily basis. So why did they get tablets? Tablets are small and light enough, that carrying them around is not longer a chore.

If you want a small but powerful machine like a Sony Vaio Z, MacBook Air or Lenovo X200, but are on a budget, the Acer Aspire One is your best bet or one of the low cost AMD Fusion laptops is you. If you have never felt the need for a light but powerful laptop, but want something more than your smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Tab may be more appealing. A tablet is a nice handy device for someone that does not need a laptop on the go.

The two devices cater to different needs. But in the low cost and light weight arena, previously the only option was the netbook. Tablets are not netbook killers, because they are more capable or better. The tablet gives an alternative solution. Many would be netbook buyers, will become tablet owners instead.

When I look at my stat, I realize my audience are from the States and Canada. Hmmm... where are all my friends in Malaysia. I kinda lazy today with breakfast and lunch. Had a small portion of rice plus egg and at lunch only a few crackers. Yup only a few crackers, I am telling ya! Was looking at what happened last night. It was insane for both of us, me and hubby to go back to The Curve to change movie ticket. Yeay we have a buyer for tonite show at midnite. We have bought ours for tomorrow show at 3pm, The Curve. Yup it will be a couple seat. So me will be sitting with Arissa, I want to let Pak Man sit with Danish and have some bonding there. Must be that day, someone will say NO ;)

Very many people last night. Wrong Engris ;) A group of company was there as well for Transformer, Dark of the Moon. They said Super Duper awesome. Went to Ikea for our so-long-not-getting hotdogs, yum2. Then walked thru Harvey Norman Shop. They still have a lot of ipad2 left. Many people there asking questions. Saw the price for Wifi and 3G at RM2499. I seriously still dont understand how the 3G works. Do we insert our Sim Card inside or its just a conversion. Huh?

They didn't have Samsung galaxy tab tho. So we just mingle around the area and talking about technology. How bored that can be but because I wanted it so badly it turned out to be a great conversation. Was comparing 7in with 10in, I prefer 10in tablet from samsung. Will be here this month but not sure the price tag.

Now its around 9:30pm, we went back to The Curve and dropped by for awhile to F.O.S. Yup our favorite place is either FOS, Reject Shop, Bundle or Night Market ;) The Curve FOS is closed but they have done some amazing sales deal downstairs at the foyer. Some dry-fit shirt at around RM8. I saw Land's End brand everywhere. Hmmm... really remind me of Iowa Mall, last time.

That was crazy unplanned nite and we reached home at around 11pm. Now I am thinking to skip Larian 1Malaysia for my kids tomorrow. What is Larian 1Malaysia by the way? And for your information, we parents have to also attend Sports Year-Day the next weekend for the school, as well. Pity us the kids and the teachers, that all I know.

Ok wait! For a moment I haven't thanked anyone yet for this blog. First of all to Johan Sopiee, thanks for the lovely photo taken for the breeze and breath to my header template. I always love this capture and I am not sure how challenging it was to take this butterfly.

Second of all, to myself for changing my mind to start on something else. I know wordpress.com is good but with their limitation on advertisement, sorry folks I got to peek on someone else for a writing, FREE. I still struggling with blogspot.com tho. But I will still share my thoughts along my way.

Third of all to my hubby for the festive card if you can peek at the sidebar of this blog. That is where our love begins... so to speak. I will tell you why and how too, when time permits.

I am a mom to begin with, 2 gorgeous kids. I am in my second marriage. And yes you can ask why my first marriage didn't workout well. And you can also ask about the challenges I face on second one as well.

People say life is good, enjoy it. But not many people can experience thru great life. A lot of people experience challenges and difficulties in life. It's not what you have experience but how you handle that experience is much more crucial to what life can bring you. I have to go now and will talk to you soon. Realized that when I first wrote this blog, it was around Mar 2009. Now its June 2011. After 2 years and 3 months I am trying hard to activate this blog again. I am not a fan of blogspot. Why? The choice of template is very minimal which might not be an excuse for some people ;)

Let me see... Today was a very wet day. I mean only the morning part here in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. First of all thanks very much for being the reader. Most importantly I know someone is reading my blog as of now. I love to express myself in writing. If anyone has ever known me they know that I am not that talkative from the outside. A bit reserve to myself. I only talk a lot to my love ones. Kids - Hubby - Parents - and very close coworkers, and you know who you are. What have I done today? Went to the bank, its CIMB Bank guys. The opening account service is just sickening. The waiting time is too long and staff should be more during lunch time.

At the end me and hubby didn't get a chance to grab lunch. We just pack some buns from King's Confectionery nearby Section 14, PJ. Tonite we want to eat big. Bigger and better from our night market near the house at Saujana Utama. I cant really imagine myself with lots of food bags: have laksa, nasi dagang, ayam goreng berempah and murtabak! Wow I am bless with the food around our country.
