According to Third-party giant Electronic Arts Dead Space Extraction will marry the innovative motion controls of the Wii Remote with a frenetic first person perspective to create a new action-packed horror experience. The game will be a prequel to the original and you will be playing an all new character, a female character. Dead Space Extraction is an all-new original game set in the Dead Space universe designed specifically for the Wii. The game features an all-new story that details the events that occur prior to Isaac Clarke’s arrival on the USG Ishimura.

In Dead Space Extraction, gamers will take on the role of an all-new heroine and join a group of colonists struggling to escape the infection that has corrupted the Aegis VII mining colony. In a release, revealed a few general details about the game, stating that Dead Space Extraction introduces new characters, weapons, enemies, puzzles and cooperative multiplayer gameplay. This is the single greatest multiplayer mode ever. Nothing beats that feeling of blasting enemies with someone playing right beside or online. They also say in an interview with IGN that the game will be an on-rails shooter in the vain of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles & House of the Dead.

The game is also being developed by the core team that developed the original title so, you can count on it being dark, moody and a bit scary. Not only have they given us this great info on the game but, there is also a new trailer featuring actual gameplay. It is definitely looking promising.

Hope you played a ninja who had to make it from one door to another. The room would be filled with obstacles of various sorts, and you had to traverse them all. Meta Boy is a flash game very much similar to this. In the game you played what seems to be a raw steak and are out to rescue your lady friend, Bandaid Girl.

The developers are bringing Meat in all his glory to WiiWare. The team developing the game have said that it will not ramp up in difficulty as fast as the flash version, and that they are considering the level editor but, no promises have been made on that front.

One of the best parts of the game was the music, and they say the same musician will be back for the WiiWare version of the game. They’re saying the game should be ready sometime in Q4 of this year, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, check out what may be the creepiest teaser video ever created. The teaser is a huge throws back to those early 90s animated MTV video bumpers, Liquid Television and NES video game commercials.

A later it was published for Xbox and PlayStation 2 by Rockstar Games. The story starts with Max Payne, a New York City cop, returning to his apartment after duty to find that a trio of drug junkies high on a new drug have broken into his house. Max rushes to the aid of his family, but he is too late; his wife and newborn daughter have been killed.

Game designer Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms, who helped produce the game series does not like the film adaptation. He states that it has lots errors on the fundamental grounds.

The greatest issue with the movie is that none can really understand what is driving Max until the flashback scene are shown. However, in the game, the scenes were put in front of the story for a cause. He further considers the movie to be a narrative blunder because the audience needs to relate with the character of Max Payne in order to like him and understand what drives him.

From a graphics viewpoint PSP is the unparalleled portable gaming device. The display is a 4.3-inch TFT LCD with a 480272-pixel resolution and 16.77 million colors. If compared, each of the Nintendo DS’s two screens has 256192 pixels with 260,000 colors. The only problem with video playback is that it’s currently hard to watch anything but UMD videos on the PSP.

Unlike Sony’s Minidisk, UMD is not a recordable storage format, so you’ll have to store any video or music and images on a Memory Stick Pro Duo card. We recommend at least a 256MB card for storing video. It also has a basic image viewer where you can drag, rotate and show all your JPEG files. Good news is that the music files played need not be converted to Sony’s proprietary ATRAC format first. One can simply drag MP3 or ATRAC files into the music folder on your Memory Stick Duo card. The device supports M3U play lists, but if you have your play lists in another format, you’ll need to find and download a converter. However the PSP is adequate for a wide range of people.

Last but not the least the PSP has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. The PSP lets you save multiple wireless configurations so that you can connect from multiple locations without repeating the setup procedure each time. PSP is still a developing engine and there are plenty of advantages one can derive from it. So stay tuned!

Guy Pearce, the English publisher unveiled at a press event last night in San Francisco that this time Codemaster has the idea of making the sequel of off-road racing with an extreme sports attitude. This time the games presentation will be rock solid. The teaser video reveals a collection of strong game story, half naked women and general madness.

Being still a racing game this time they have included stadium rally events. The game play video showed a fictional stadium built around London’s Battersea Power Station. The set has a strong industrial look and feel. The general feeling about these stadiums is massive, with crowd sizes going from 40,000 in Grid to 120,000 in Dirt 2.

The game engine showed some other enhancements like advanced water physics and puddles to be at least a foot deep. Races are held in less expected spots of London and Los Angeles including Croatia, China, and Malaysia. The game’s multiplayer mode will let you be able to take part in online matches against other drivers in real time. All these will surely excite you enough to remain glued to your play station.

It was at Seoul in Korea. The first ever world championship of Cyber Games was organized inside the convention hall. Nearly 400 gamers from thirty seven different countries participated in this five day long tournament. Lots of political figures of Korea along with the GM of Microsoft inaugurated the ceremony.

It was a very proud moment for the ministers to organize gaming events in such a big scale. In fact, it was the first time for Korea to organize such big gaming event. The culture of true e-sports has already spread over the Asian sub-continent. The tournament was covered live on Korean TV channel MBC.

Most gamers enjoyed competing in Microsoft’s Unreal Tournament. The authorities organizing such events had already decided to include lecture sessions and conferences. Speech by the CEO of Big Huge Games had made everyone dumbfounded. If you are a gamer and want to take it seriously to a next level, then keep preparing yourself for the next year to come.

EA stated that it would have more information in the near future, presumably tying into EA CEO John Riccitiello’s desire to make the third Sims a “huge success.” The publisher sure could use the cash.

Image Comics and Newsarama have made the first issue of the Dead Space comic book available to read online. The story in the six-part series takes place prior to the events of the video game on the USG Ishimura. Some finer details of the game might be spoiled by reading the comic, but those who’ve finished the game will get more backstory without having to read Ishimura crew logs.

The comic series was originally released earlier this year and is also available now in a collected hardcover edition.
Now that all the gifts have been delivered, what’s Santa to do but rock out to a Metal Xmas? Here at Joystiq HQ we’re all equally discombobulated, having finally voted on our Game of the Year picks and now able to play anything we want this weekend — except for those of us who visited their families and forgot to bring all three consoles, both portables (sorry N-Gage!) and an overclocked desktop PC. It happens.

Alexander Sliwinski: Well, if the past couple days are any indication. I will be playing a lot more Rock Band with friends. Had a five-hour session last night and it looks like there’s going to be more today. There might be some Smash Bros. Personally, when the family is gone, I’ll be continuing on with Fallout 3. Although, I do want to get back into Sins of a Solar Empire.

Christopher Grant: Enjoying some R&R, spending time in Albion, Prince of Persia’s mythical universe (fun fact: nothing like Persia!), and The World Ends With You’s intoxicating vision of Shibuya. Oh, and equivocating over my nominations for Joystiq’s Game of the Year …

Griffin McElroy: While not wrestling with the massive registry errors currently tearing my computer a new USB port, I imagine I’ll be playing with my holiday bounty: Chrono Trigger, MGS4 or Mirror’s Edge.

Kevin Kelly: I’m console-less while on vacation in Texas, reducing me to gaming on the iPhone. However, I’m happily playing the hilarious Amateur Surgeon game from Adult Swim. A pizza boy who does surgery on the side? Sign me up. I’m also playing the board game thrift store search. So far it’s yielded me Can’t Stop, Sunken Treasure, Triple Yahtzee, Othello, Ur (the Royal Game of Sumer… fancy), and this gem from 1975: Challenge the I.R.S.

James Ransom-Wiley: AFG

Jason Dobson: My son’s fascination with Kingdom Hearts continues as we push to the end of the first game and prepare to take on the sequel. Enjoying it through his eyes makes the whole experience not quite so absurd.

Justin McElroy: IDK

Ludwig Kietzmann: I’m playing the Fallout 3 endurance game. Here’s how it works: I put in the disc and see how long it takes until I want to play something — anything — else. Unfortunately, I’m getting worse at it. So much worse, in fact, that I now start playing another game before I’ve even inserted the disc. Oh well.

Randy Nelson: Now that I’ve played through all of the GOTY contenders, my plan is to get some time in with each of my all-time top 10 games - and decide if that list needs some re-working based on the games of ‘08. Oh, also: MetalLittleBigPlanetGear. F. T. W.

Ross Miller: Curious how much of an evil bastard I can be in Fable 2, and also need to return to a game I missed last generation — Final Fantasy XII. I expect my free time to be completely eradicated.

Presenting Branching Dialogue, a weekly, wordy and often worryingly pedantic discussion of video game genres, trends and err … stuff I didn’t think to put in this introductory line.

If there’s one thing the year 2008 has proven adept at, it’s polarizing players with titles that seem to generate more discussion than actual sales. Much like Assassin’s Creed before it, Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia has been viciously yanking people off fences, this time with simplified controls, Open-World Lite[TM] platforming and sassy, cel-shaded protagonists.

The game’s difficulty (or supposed lack thereof) has also come under scrutiny, with some tough-guy gamers lamenting the Prince’s newly found and quite convenient resistance to death. I don’t wish to argue with the complaint … but I do want to pluralize it. “This game is not difficult,” and, “You can’t die in this game,” are two very different accusations, and one of them is more than a little unobservant of modern conventions.

I hate to break it to you guys, but death has been pushing up daisies for years.
