But during this time, we also noticed that there were lots of couples who craved high quality design but just didn’t have the budget to pursue it. Instead, they faced alternative options that were often low cost but also low quality. There had to be something in the middle.

So we’ve come up with a line of ready to go, print-it-yourself wedding stationery, where great design doesn’t have to be sacrificed in the name of budget!

How does it work?

We have an online shop where you can browse all our different designs. Pick the one you like best and decide if you want to print-it-yourself or have us print it for you. Decide on the other options available (such as paper stock, envelopes, etc), attach your wording (if necessary) and let us know about any other customizations. Once the order is placed, we send a proof of the wedding stationery to review. Once approved, we send a print-ready PDF for you to start printing. If we are printing for you, we take care of the rest and ship you the stationery once it’s ready.

We know that couples like to DIY to save money and our print-it-yourself option (also known as printables) is exactly for that. We give custom quality design at DIY prices.

For couples that don’t want to DIY but also don’t need a full-on custom design, our new line is perfect because we can take care of the printing and have everything ready to go the moment it arrives at your doorstep.

Some other things that make our service extra special:

• Canadians! We do pricing in Canadian Dollars! For everyone else, you can pay in US dollars if you prefer.
• We can fill the place cards with your guests’ names, instead of you having to hand write them in.
• We print table numbers, no need to write them in yourself.
• If you love the design, but not the colours, you can change them, free of charge.
• We also don’t charge extra for our premium, linen paper stock.

We cover all your wedding stationery needs, from beginning to end. This means save the dates, invitations, RSVPs, extra inserts, programs, menus, table numbers, place cards, and thank you cards.

Some clients just want an easy, ready-to-go design. So over the past year, we developed a set of robots that reflect the style and quirkiness of our previously designed ones, but in a template format. What do we mean?

We have pre-designed 2 robot characters, a tri-fold invitation, and thank you card. All you need to do is:

1) Contact us!

2) Tell us how many invites and thank you cards you need.

3) Tell us what your colour scheme is.

4) Send us your text.

5) Tell us when you need everything.

We manage the printing and sourcing of envelopes for you, and provide a quote based on your needs. With a design already there for you to see, the process of getting invites is a lot quicker than custom design. Below are a couple samples for you to view:

Alison + Masa wanted to include elements that reflected Masa’s Japanese heritage without being cheesy. We wanted a design that balanced the cultural aspects and the feel of the wedding venue but also fun and modern.

Origami paper cranes were going to be featured at each table so we took that as a starting point for the design. We included line drawings of the cranes and created a pattern that hinted at the symmetric and geometric folds of origami patterns. With a romantic script, a textured paper and a lovely purple and green it all came together for a simple, yet beautiful design.

The format is an outer folded enclosure with the details inside on a separate card.

While the invites were fun to design, we really enjoyed the items we created for the day of. Alison + Masa need table names, a seating chart and programs as well as a couple last minute items.

The programs followed the same design and doubled as fans for the hot summer wedding.

Because Masa loves The Beatles, their song titles were used for the table names.

What we came up with for the seating chart is by far our most creative to date. Alison was so great in letting us go out on a limb. She had mentioned that instead of a guest book, she wanted to hand out little note cards for everyone to write a message on. We suggested having a seating chart do double duty. Not only would it let each guest know where to sit, it would also allow them to write a note for the bride and groom.

Following the origami theme we created a folded heart for each guest. The hearts were placed on sticks and assembled in flower tins, grouped by table. Guests would find their name on the heart directing them to their table. Each heart also folded open to reveal a space to write a message. At the end of the day, Alison + Masa were left with a collection of folded hearts, all containing well wishes and sweet thoughts.

And finally, we created a couple fun signs for the flower girl and Alison + Masa.

And this is exactly what we did for Melissa + John who got married last May in Ontario, Canada.

We designed a custom wedding monogram that embodied their vintage romantic theme which was then incorporated into the rest of their wedding stationery designed by Katie Williams. The monogram was applied to their guestbook, table numbers, menu as well as invite and program.

Melissa + John had a candy bar as their favour and every guest received a pretty paper bag to fill with goodies.

Without a doubt it is one of the world’s most naturally beautiful countries. Black sand beaches, geysers, waterfalls, steaming lagoons, volcanoes, northern lights. You name it – Iceland probably has it. If it’s not on your list of places to visit, add it now. Check out these great photos from National Geographic.

So when Lloyd + Raggi need help designing wedding invites for their upcoming nuptials I was so excited to hear that it would be happening in Iceland! The plan was for the wedding ceremony to be on a ferry en route to Viðey followed by the reception on the island. Like pied pipers, Lloyd + Raggi led the party up to the venue with balloons.

The invites needed to be bilingual (English and Icelandic) and they wanted the invite to be fun, informal and graphically bold.

We really wanted the invitation to represent the destination so we used the palette of the colourful homes in Reykjavik and lopaeysa sweaters as inspiration. We didn’t want it to be too gimmicky or to resemble a sweater pattern so the overall design is quite geometric and modern. The font is also fun and informal giving the invite a cheery disposition.

Because the invite is so colourful, we chose a dark shimmery grey envelope to balance it out. What we love is that the colours and design also represent the nature of Iceland (the black sand, the peaks of mountains and the sea).

We also created tags for their favours.

While decorations were sparse, the colours were sprinkled through the venue.

For the invitations, Alina came to me with her own watercolour paintings to incorporate into the design. They really set the tone and style for the big day. We also chose a natural white linen paper for a more rustic feel.

Since the wedding was on an island, it was important for the invitation to lay out all the logistical details clearly and succinctly. There was a lot of information to pack in so we used a tri-fold layout to accommodate everything. It turned out really well and way better than Google Maps!

Alina also painted an RSVP which we made into a post card for guests to mail back.

To pull everything together we picked out shimmery red envelopes and created custom mail labels for return and guest addresses.

It’s important for us to design wedding invitations that reflect the mood and style of the day. They should be a design extension of the wedding day so I was really happy with how they turned out, especially after seeing photos of Alina + Sean and the venue.

And wedding stationery wouldn’t be complete without the thank you cards.

This was one of my favourite projects this summer. Alina was such a great client, conveying what she was looking for yet letting me exercise my creative muscles to come up with something that would bring her vision to life. Thanks Alina + Sean for choosing us to be part of your day!

It turns out they put their embosser to good use! They applied the monogram to their invitations, RSVP cards, programs, thank you cards, all the envelopes and the napkins. But what really put a smile our our faces was that they also used the monogram for an ice luge at their reception!

The happy couple were so kind to share some photos from their special day.

This was a winter wedding. No snowstorm but it was pretty cold and windy. These are two tough Canadians braving it in the cold for some gorgeous photos.

The wedding favours were chocolates in the shape of dog bones, each representing a donation made to the humane society.

And finally, what we love to hear from our clients!

We just loved the beautiful monogram you made for us. It was such a central part of our day, and I thank you both so much for creating this for me! It added so much to the day, and Michael, Amara, and I could not have asked for anything better to help add that special touch to our day! THANK YOU!!!

While you should be showing the one you care how you feel all year long, Valentines Day is but one very obvious excuse to make declarations of love. It might also be a good time to make babies. Although apparently that should happen all year round too!
