I received another awesome sponsored package from Glamour Doll Eyes and I am pretty excited to share them with you. I tried to pick out some more wearable colors this time but I couldn’t resist getting a bright, matte cobalt blue. A couple glitters are pictured here but I plan on doing a separate post on the Eye Lights along with some exciting news!

They also included Foil Me which is a primer/sealer type product. I used it in my last two FOTD’s to turn a GDE shadow into a liquid liner. It lasted beautifully all day. I haven’t gotten a chance to use it as a glitter adhesive or a primer yet but I will definitely keep you posted. The dropper bottle is just perfect!! I love how sanitary it is and the fact that I can’t contaminate the entire bottle with a particular color of eyeshadow.

Undercover - “Undercover is taupish brown.”

I’ve been on a neutral kick lately and this is a beautiful, wearable taupe. It’s not overly shimmerly but has the prettiest microshimmers in it. I’m pretty positive everyone could use this in their collection. I used it in my last FOTD and have used it just in my everyday looks quite a bit.

Pistol Pistol – “Pistol Pistol is a blackened silver (almost gunmetal) with multi colored shimmer, but mainly red shimmer!”

Pistol Pistol is one of those colors that’s just impossible to capture on camera. It’s a very complex dark gunmetal base that almost leans lavender in certain angles. There is a ton of gorgeous shimmer in it in multiple colors which adds to it’s complexity.

Dirty Jeans – “Dirty Jeans* is teal green and rubs into green-blue with golden hues.”

This is another hard to capture color. The color is on the lighter side but a very pretty light sea foam green with blue almost lavender tones to it. The golden hues are pretty apparent in the shadow as well and the shimmer is divine. It’s not obnoxious and works beautifully with the base. The finish is slightly pearlescent.

Mingles - “Mingles* is flat, matte, blue pigment.”

I tried to get colors that were out of the norm for me this time but I couldn’t ignore Mingles. A matte, electric cobalt is right up my alley. I actually find the shadow more vibrant than pictured on the site. There is some definite purple tones to this shadow and photographing purples/blues is always a little difficult. I find the natural light pictures more accurate even when I photographed my FOTD using Mingles. It’s a beautiful color but keep in mind that it is a matte and mattes just require more patience when blending. It swatched very easily though so I’m not to concerned with chalkiness.

I did a very simple look yesterday showcasing the amazing blue from Glamour Doll Eyes, Mingles. It was pretty subdued and I felt like I needed to redo it making it more “me”. Here’s a more amped up version of yesterday’s look.

Since I’ve gone red I’ve turned to red lipstick 8 times out of 10. I’ve also been in love with the contrasting look of red and blue together. I love how Mingles looks with this red lip.

I confess to being pretty lazy about my makeup lately. I’ve also gained a new appreciation for neutrals. I received a sponsored package from Glamour Doll Eyes and included with my package was a product called Foil Me. I will go into more detail about the product when I post my review up for this package but long story short I knew I wanted to use Foil Me and Mingles to make a liner. Undercover is a beautiful slightly shimmery taupe color that I know I will get a ton of use out of. I popped that on the lid, defined the crease a little with a matte brown and used Mingles to create a winged liner. Results were perfect… Simple with a pop of an electrifying blue. I found it hard to photograph so I did some pictures with and without flash.

I rarely ever go this neutral as far as a neutral eye and lip but I thought I’d do something a little different and keep the focus on the liner. I am using MAC Gaga 2 lipstick with a touch of Gaga 1 gloss over. I also haven’t put lashes on yet because I wanted you to see the liner as clearly as possible.

The following pictures have flash but Mingles looks more true to color in the natural light shots. Excuse all the blue on my lashes…

April FOTD Challenge Calendar

I can’t believe it has almost 6 months since I’ve put together a FOTD Challenge Calendar. I’m soooooo sorry for the delay but absence makes the heart grow fonder right? For those of you who are new to the Challenge Calendar, everyday there is a different theme that is open to your interpretation. These looks can be everyday looks or over the top I’ll never go out in public like this looks. It’s all up to you…. It’s nearly impossible to participate every single day so don’t feel bad and just do what you can. This calendar is meant to inspire not stress you out. Tutti Frutti

It rained off and on all weekend but this was the look I wore to brighten things up a little. I’ve been keeping my makeup really fresh lately and a lot of times I don’t blog these “everyday” looks but I thought I’d share this one with you. I adore corals and nothing screams Spring to me more than this color range. I didn’t have lashes on yet in these pics….

I love how simple this look is especially because I use theBalm’s Hot Mama blush as both blush and eyeshadow. I travel a lot so anytime I can consolidate and use one product for two things I’m sold. Also, I used my two brow powders in my crease which really cuts down on products used. theBalm’s products are some of my favorites! They are insanely pigmented and just gorgeous. I also use Mary-Lou Manizer on my eyes all the time and as a highlighter.

I have 2 Revlon Lip Butters and I adore them both! I’m wearing Tutti Frutti here and it’s perfect for someone who wants to try out a coral but might be afraid of brights.
