Pocket Monster

2013-04-23T09:05:00.004-07:00

Because I've been making so many clothing posts lately, I won't make another one. LOL JK, the artist Ramyb has made two shirts which you can find and buy over at Teefury for $11 each (not including postage), they both come in 3 colours including "royal blue", blue and green. Ramby also made the Charmader version of this shirt titled "Pocket Monster", which was the first in this series of shirts.

Now I'm off to play the Gears of War DLC. Seriously I paid $80 for the short game and short DLC? Wow.

The Infinite Loop

2013-04-18T15:21:00.001-07:00

For the next 5 or so hours you can buy the shirt "The Infinite Loop" for only $10 dollars from www.riptapparel.com, you can get a further $1 discount by using the voucher code "schmoes" (OMG $1!??! Yes. You're welcome). This shirt is based on Bioshock Infinite's characters Booker and Elizabeth who are falling through portals from that one game, I've forgotten what the game was called.

Under $13 for the shirt and packaging and delivery is in my opinion incredibly cheap for a 24 hour shirt, many 24 hour shirt websites can cost up to $20, which is why this is a good deal. Click here to visit Moysche's (the artist) website, click here to visit Riptapparel.

RIP Lava Lamps

2013-04-09T22:33:00.004-07:00

Introducing Ferrocious; the new lava lamp. Ferrocious is an electromagnet which is powered in response to sound, this causes the magnetic ferrofluid to move in rhythm of the music, your voice or any other low-frequency loud noises. Similarly to lava lamps, I imagine the inside material is equally delicious (read: not very - don't attempt).

"An interesting blend of science and art... Ferrocious is designed to move magnetic fluid to the sound and music in the world around it."

The Ferrocious is currently a KickStarter Project made by Russell Garehan, it has gathered lots of media attention and has raised more than double the required funding and still has 15 days to go, to visit the KickStarter page click here.

If Child Books Were Dr. Seuss Books

2013-04-06T14:42:00.001-07:00

Because I know how much you love books, I'm making another post about books. The artist Drfaustusau drew several video games in the style of D.r Seuss books, including games like Bioshock, Skyrim, Silent Hill and Bioshock Infinite. Unfortunately there aren't any more video game book covers but there are movie and TV series drawn in the style of Dr. Seuss books such as The Iron Giant, Batman, Cat Woman and Dexter

Click here for the full gallery and click here for the artist's Deviant Art page.

YouTube Is Closing

2013-03-31T09:10:00.002-07:00

Since YouTube launched 8 years ago we all seem to have forgotten that the whole website is just a competition to decide who can upload the best video, tomorrow, on the 1st of April, the site will be shut down and all the content will be deleted, Youtube will then return in 2023 and at that point the winner will be declared and will win the generous prize of an MP3 player and $500 budget for their next creative project (so get uploading!).

In other news, it's April Fools tomorrow, I wonder what big websites like Google and YouTube have planned for us.

If Video Games Were Child Books

2013-03-29T22:36:00.000-07:00

What if video games were child books? Well they would be very cute of course. The artist Jo3bot drew a small collection of what video games would look like if they were child books, and I would definitely buy them for my children if they were real. Okay child. Okay, me.

What Happens On The Internet Every Minute?

2013-03-24T20:31:00.002-07:00

(Click the picture for the full size)

On average 639,800 GB of data is transferred across the Internet, and that amount is only increasing as the Internet gets older. Unexpectedly, YouTube, Google and Facebook take the top 3 spots for transferring the most data, Youtube has over 30 hours of video uploaded and 1.3 million video views, Google processes over 2 million search queries and Facebook has 277,000 logins and 6 million views.

There are also other websites that contribute largely towards that 639,800 GB of data but this is a family friendly blog folks. Fine, it's CatHub, CatMovies and CatTube, some of the best places for cat videos.

Angry Birds Is Free!

2013-03-08T15:07:00.004-08:00

Angry Birds is free for a limited amount of time, so go download it for free whilst you still have time, available on the iTunes store (Normal and HD) and from Amazon for Android/Kindle (normal and HD). I imagine if you own any sort of phone with access to an app store which sells Angry Birds you would already own it so this might not be a great bargain for you (me).

Japan Earthquake, before and after (2 years later)

2013-03-08T08:58:00.004-08:00

In a short amount of days, Japan will mark the 2nd anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake and the tsunami, a photographer for TheAtlantic has taken a series of photos 2 years after the earthquake to show what has changed. Not much apparently apart from a few missing boats.

I would have GIF'd all the images but I thought I'd rather leave them in their full glory, to see the rest of the gallery click here.

One Of The Best Job Applications Ever

2013-03-07T13:03:00.001-08:00

This is an advertisement from a tattoo studio seeking new tattoo artists located in Turkey. To be in a chance of getting the job you have to fill in the QR code with black pen, if done successfully you can scan the QR code and be sent the application form by email. So that rules me out. Damn these chubby fingers.

2013-03-05T10:53:00.000-08:00

Qwertee is selling the shirt "Greetings From Rapture" just in time for Bioshock Infinite, made by user Brandon_Wildelm. You have around 28 hours left to buy this shirt so I recommend buying it now before it's gone forever, I've already bought it. Along with Bioshock Infinite.... And Gears of War Judgement.... And a year of Xbox Live.... I've spent way too much on games this month. Money well spent.

DIY Super Mario Piranha Plant (For Cats!)

2013-02-25T10:44:00.002-08:00

This is the "Mario Brothers Cat Tree" made by the Instructables user Geckoo_Designs, although the intended user is cats there's nothing stopping you from using it (except your extreme and very rare case of big-boneitis). Although the quality of the tree isn't Ikea quality it's much better than you or I could do - okay, maybe just you, have you seen my blogging skills? They're almost as good as my DIY skills.

Super Mario 3 Final Level In First Person

2013-02-24T01:13:00.001-08:00

Because nothing, and I mean nothing says originality like even more video games done in first person, Freddie Wong (no one was expecting that) has made another first person Mario video - in all fairness, the video is pretty good ~~and I'm being judgemental because I'll never be as good as that beautiful Chinese bastard.~~ The video took 50 days to render, in comparison the first version Freddie Wong did took a mere 60 hours, the first can be watched here.

"After over 50 days of rendering FPM Endgame is finally done. I've always said that if I'm going to do a sequel it has to be creatively worth doing."

Pac-Man Seats

2013-02-20T09:08:00.001-08:00

Bruno Marques made several seats called the "Pac Seat". According to Marques he made the chairs specifically for children, taking on inspiration from arcade games in the 90's. The seats were made with polypropylene (The More You Know, right?)

"This chair was designed for children taking as inspiration the immortalization of an icon of the arcade games of the 90s."

You can view the page for his project here, and you can view the rest of his projects here.

PS4 Prototype Controller

2013-02-17T14:23:00.002-08:00

This is apparently the prototype of the upcoming PlayStation 4's new controller, there's clear similarities to the current PlayStation 3 controller however it looks obese; almost like a cross between the Xbox 360 and the PS3 controller. There are also other differences including a speaker, an unknown port (I'm guessing it's an audio port), a new d-pad, a move sensor (<sarcasm>woo - more interactive games </sarcasm>) and a "possible share button".

Here are the different PlayStation controllers, from PS2 to the PS4 prototype.

In unrelated news, I just finished BBC's Sherlock series and OH MY GOSH. Can't wait for season 3.

'Up' Inspired Hot Air Balloon

2013-02-11T09:03:00.004-08:00

The imgur user upvoteHero took pictures of the hot air balloon inspired by the Movie 'Up'. There isn't really much else to talk about, except how it must have a crappy view considering the 'basket' doesn't look very see through - or it has a great view if you're terrified of heights. I'd rather just be playing Xbox.
