I am loving this FebrezeONE that BzzAgent sent me for free! As soon as I opened the box I could smell the fragrance. The great thing is they still weren't over powering when I sprayed them. My dog even walked through the mist on accident. She didn't even sneeze. I received the bamboo and mandarin scent as pictured. Since I am a BzzAgent I am able to try their products for free in return for a review after I've spent a bit of time with them. They even gave me two coupons which I will gladly use once I run out.

The ingredients as listed on the bottle: water, odor eliminator derived from corn, light fragrance, and no propellants. I like the bamboo scent much better than the mandarin scent. I can say they both smell great, but I am not a fan of orange scented anything. They are great at eliminating scents as Febreze has always been that go to product to bring fresh scents. I rated the bamboo a 5/5 because it literally "cleared the air". The spray bottle has a continuous spray function that works very well. I love the design because it allows for the product to be free of a chemical propellant. Chemical propellants and aerosols are terrible for the environment, and I appreciate the care taken in making this product without them. They are also bad for anyone with allergies or asthma After a long day from sitting at work and school I just want to come home and escape. It is the little things like changing up the smell in your house that matters sometimes. Scents play a large part in changing the mood. The sprays are also a great thing to keep around in the bathrooms when someone leaves a not so pleasant gift, and also great to mist before someone visits. It's always nice to have your visitors come to a fresh smelling house. That is something I've always striven for.

I Have Sisterlocks :)

On Sunday, July, 19 th, 2015 my Sisterlocks journey began. I have been waiting to get them for about 3 years. I hassled with the idea many times, and I am happy to say that I went through with it. I am free from gels, combs, brushes, flat afros...etc!! 😂😂I have included a video showing them and pictures with my loose natural as well.

Ummm you can now whoop my ass for not posting since 2012! Lol. So much has happened of course. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Biology in 2013. I taught Biology lab for a year at PV while I decided which life path I wanted to take. I found that. I'm going into my second semester at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston,TX to get my degree in acupunture. My boyfriend Devin and I moved in with each other in 2013. He is now a computer scientist and I'm very proud of what is he doing.

I work at a chemical plant in Houston as a lab tech during the day while I go to school at night. Im so ready to quit my day job it's not even funny! Let's just say I have many irons in the fire and some of them are warm. 😂😂😂😂 I'm now advising my Undergraduate Chapter at PVAMU which I love. Shout out to the Delta Alpha Sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Innnnnnncorporated.

School is great though. I finally feel as if I have finally landed into my niche. It is challenging, but not impossible. Learning about Chinese medicine is beyond interesting, and how everything goes together in harmony. The spiritual dynamics of this ancient medicine is so fascinating. I can't wait to help people achieve maximum health.

Going to work for Disney....

So I'm supposed to be starting work at the Disney store today.. I'm really not sure about this job yet. I've just been so anxious to start, and now when I get notice that I need to start today I feel like the laziest person ever. I want to make money, but right now I feel like not doing anything. I'm trying not to dread this at all because it's just going to make my experience worse. On the other hand I did great in my classes for this semester's midterms :) I'm still working on my DAT practice but very slowly :( It's the best I can do since I'm taking a full load of classes this semester.

So, currently every time I log onto Facebook I see a fellow classmate from either HS or college that is getting married. I'm genuinely happy for them, but can't help to place myself in their spot. I think about what would it be like to be in their spot and would I be totally ready for that commitment. I don't have commitment issues at all, but I just know that I am not ready nor is my current state of mind ready. I have goals that need to be finished and actually beginning a lifelong relationship like that is a bit much to add on. Don't be mistaken, I really do want to be married one day, but I just need time for me to get to know myself after college. My philosophy for myself is that I will graduate, get into dental school, live alone in an apartment for a while, then pursue that step in life (marriage). Hopefully this marriage will be with my current loving boyfriend if he still wants to be with my crazy self! :)

I just hold marriage up to really high standards and it is nothing to be played around with. You are totally committing yourself to one person for the rest of your life through thick and thin. I can't just decide to divorce when something isn't working out the right way. The older I get the more sacred marriage becomes to me. There are just too many people abusing the right to get married. Some still want to have another life while married with someone else, some want to be married for greed, some marry because it looked fun. This marriage thing is serious business. If you get married you take a vow before God that you will be faithful to this one person no matter what......NO MATTER WHAT. I just cant stress that enough.

I also learned that my dream wedding is a simple wedding. I want my closest friends, my family and I want a nice dress of course minus all the extra mess with having fifty people in a wedding court. I don't need all that showboating crap that people do in weddings that cost $50, 000. Even if I had that much money to spend on a wedding when I get to that point I wouldn't do it. I want my marriage to last longer than my wedding does.

I can wait and then I cant wait if that makes sense. I know that I'm in no position to be married, but I cannot wait till I actually am and when I feel like everything is together. I'm only in my early twenties I just feel like there is so much to life right now and I want to travel. I can't even think about having children because I'm not in the position to even have one! I just want to live and enjoy somethings as a non married person free of dependents.

So far I have retightened my hair two times and twisted my roots two times. I'm trying not to do too much with my hair so I'm trying to stop retightening and twisting so often. I will continue to use a combination of interlocking and palm rolling until I see fit. I don't get my hair, sometimes it hangs closer to my neck and sometimes it just looks shorter than when I started. shrinkage :(

So I came across this blog and I am really thinking about changing the way I eat. I want to eat more vegetables and less meat. Although I wont give up meat totally I want to decrease it from my diet. My goal is to only eat meat once a day or every other day and eat more raw vegetables (more nutrients). Raw vegetables have more nutrients than cooked ones. So I'm like what is the point in eating vegetables if they are cooked to mush and they have little to no nutrients left inside?? I will be doing my research more and probably get a book on raw foods. I also want to buy a juicer and make my own fresh juices.

Ha I lied to someone today...I lied...damn but did it feel good. When I lie it doesn't feel go but this time it made perfect sense. They deserved it though because they had no business all in the way I was conducting business. I hate when insignificant individuals question my integrity and have nothing better to say. It is like they just trying to attack me low key. I just be like, "don't do me because you will see another side of me." BUT I kept it calm. Oh well it just wasn't their place to know what I'm planning to do right now.

The Student's Block

I'm having a form of writer's block but it is where I cant study. I try to pick up and study for my DAT (Dental Admissions Test) but I can't. All I want to do is watch Weeds on Netflix..tisk..tisk.. AND yes I am not going to be taking taking medical school school route as once planned. I had an intervention one day while studying for the MCAT. I promise I was right in the middle of studying for the physics section and something was like, "what are you doing?" So I had a long talk with myself and God and also a lot of times before I even had my intervention. I keep thinking is this what I want to do. Do I really want to be a physician or is there something else. So I did my research, and discovered that being a dentist fits me more. I want to have a predictable type schedule where I go to work for 4 days out of the week and I set when I want to come in. I wanted to have my own practice as well. Also I was not into going into a residency program after med school and waiting another 3 years to get on my feet after the initial 4 years of med school. Whereas when I go to dental school I just go my 4 years and go find a dentist to apprentice under till I'm ready to get out on my own.

I was at my SMDEP (Summer Medical and Dental Education Program) in Louisville, KY two years ago, and we were able to perform a dental exam. Do you know I had the most fun doing that than when we got to do a physical examination and listen to the heart? They even asked us if any body wanted to switch over to being pre-dental and I stayed in my seat. I think about it today and I still don't know what I was thinking. I really don't. I was really naive about my life and what I really wanted. BUT here I am today, with studying block lol at least that is my term for it! Im just ready to graduate from Precious Prairie View A&M University and get on with life. I know I will miss my days at PVAMU but I know that I lived them to the fullest. That is all that matters and MY DEGREE AMEN!

Now I'm looking at the whole application process and hoping it isn't going to be any more difficult than the medical school application process.

Week Three of the Loc Journey

So today I cleansed my hair even though my loctician told me not to wash for like 4 months....ummm couldnt wait that long. so this is what I did.I followed this video by Chescalocs on YouTube.

It was a pretty awesome cleanse. Because I couldn't take not washing my hair that long and I was starting to get dandruff build up which is a NO NO!! I did ask her if I could use it as a shampoo replacement and she said no because it will dry the hair too much. So I will just stick to once a month at most.

I did section my hair into rubberbands so my baby locs wouldn't come un done.

My New Hair Journey!

So for a couple of months I had been considering locking my hair. I went half crazy looking at youtube videos, blogs and even dreadlocking forums. I really wanted to sisterlock my hair but I found out that doing so would be very expensive and timely. So people were charging 600 just to start with 3-4 inches of hair. I have like 9-10 inches of hair. Also the upkeep would take hours and some of the locticians would charge 20 dollars per hour. humppp I wasn't into paying that. So I researched it more and decided against palm rolling as a start since it is hard to keep it twisted when I wash it. I chose to interlock my hair which is similar to sisterlocking. The point is to use a tool to lock the hair. There are many videos on youtube that explain this. Here are the reasons I chose this route:

I can wash my hair or go swimming immediately after my hair is interlocked.
I want my locks to be skinny.
I want to curl my locks and do all kinds of styles

I did go a different route by starting them from two strand twists and once each loc forms I will get them interlocked from the root. Until I get back to my loctician I will palm roll my roots. So far I'm loving it. I chose to lock my hair because I HATE combing my hair! I also want to a style that is very fast. I don't enjoy spending lots of time on my hair daily. I also want to attain lots of length.

I've had many revelations lately, and I have have come to the conclusion that I'm going to have two choices to make everyday..either I take each thing step by step or don't do it at all. I feel the only way for me to have some sanity is to take everything one step at a time. My mom tells me this almost every week..but it has never stuck me like this. Like for me to get serious and to stay on top of things I'm going to have to stop rushing to the next step without completing the last. I have to get real with myself. The only way for me to move forward is to get real with myself. The other revelation that I had this month is to always remember that I'm not alone and that I can't go through life alone.

I told one of my good friends that same thing this week. She was having some health and relationship issues, and I told her that she doesn't have to go through any of it alone and that she isn't supposed to. God didn't put us on earth to be alone. That is why my message today is to take the hardest tasks step by step and finish each step before going on to the next.

Rick Perry Passes Sonogram Law

I really think that the passing of the law that requires women to have a sonogram before their abortion was a waste of time. The time that could have been spent budgeting for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood was cut out and it is severly needed to the low income women. It provides a yearly pelvic exam, sexually transmitted disease tests, and birth control at a very low cost. The focus on abortion was the wrong direction on Rick Perry's call. Rick Perry is not the right candidate for Texas Gov or any other state for that matter. He has let too many budget cuts happen in the wrong areas.

So I'm a product junkie and my mom doesn't make it any better by finding new products for me to try on my hair every other month! So I been using this since Easter and I really love it. I have only been using this on my hair for the past month. My hair stays soft and moisturized the whole day. The shampoo is the best shampoo I have used in a very long time. It was very hydrating and I never got the dry feeling after I dried my hair. The curl smoothie is the best because it keeps my curls hydrated. AND I found the coconut and hibiscus line at walgreens for 10 per bottle. You can also locate it at target too! The whole line is sulfate, parabean, petroleum and mineral oil free! I smells really great also! You really cant beat the price for the quality of the product.

Screaming in My Head

So I'm trying to be calm. I just got off the phone with student employment for my summer job form and I'm a bit pissed. I talked to a woman at the office two weeks ago and she told me that I needed to use the summer hire form for the summer job after I told her that the packet wasn't up on the website yet. She said the packet would be up by 5 P.M. that day. Well it was not up till that next week. So I go to see if the packet is online and it was with the link working and everything. I did not print it at that moment because I just didn't. SO I go back to print the packet the next day and the link is gone again! SO I called today and I asked why the summer hire packet was not there and the girl on the phone says it is. I said no it's not and she said you have to use the rehire packet. I was clearly told not to use the rehire packet two weeks ago and that I would have to wait till they fixed the link to get the packet. MIND you that this is time sensitive paperwork that has to be turned in at least 5 business days before the hire date! WELL F*#$ my life because I can't even turn in the packet before the 1st because I'm at home 300 miles away and some things have to be handed personally to the office. OMG! I guess I have to wait till the 15th the next hire date to start work. I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

Oprah Has Her "OWN" Network..what will she own next?

I have to say that I am not very happy that she has her own network. I don't get to watch Mystery ER, Trauma: life in the ER, Untold Stories of the ER..anything ER or medical SUPER SAD FACE :( I mean I looked up and down the TV guide and it only lists Mystery Diagnosis 2 times a day and that is the only medical shows on the network. What a bummer I mean I really didn't like to watch her 1 time a day. URGH why couldn't she get her "OWN" network. Was Discovery Health really in debt or something?? I emailed Discovery Health to see if someone would reply so I'm waiting for a response. I'm really serious about this issue because I like watching those shows and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one mad that Discovery Health is no longer an option. It's bad enough that there are no real tv networks showing anything worth anything these days.

Well I guess I can look forward to watching The Game on BET on the 11th. I'm so excited about it coming back on. YAY YAY YAY Please don't take The Game away!

Just thought I would post something for the last day of the year...I also have another resolution for the new year, and that is to take better care of my skin! I found this recipe for a homemade mask and toner for acne and it really has worked. I've used it every other day this week and my skin is smooth and the acne on my cheeks is gone. This is the video: This is definitely going on the list of my routine plus it isn't hard to make and it's natural :)

Now all I need to do for the rest of the day is figure out how I will spend the last day of the year. Hummmmmmm....

What I'm thinking right now

SO.....I've been thinking alot about how I'm going to succeed next semester, MCAT ( currently studying for it), going to summer school, and what it would be like to be a family medicine physician. Just a lot on my mind I guess because I'm not so occupied with school. I've also been thinking about how far I've come and very grateful for this journey.

I'm having good feelings about next semester I feel it will be far better. I just need to prepare my mind to stay organized and stay focused focused focused..I cannot stress that enough. I gotta stay focused. I'm not going to pretend that staying focused is easy for me because it is not. My mind wanders a lot because I can get bored with something easily if I don't get the concept (physics is a good example) lol sadly. I'll get through it though. I just have to get right back on the physics horse and ride again because there is a 2nd part :( This time I'm not falling off and I mean it!

I just had a thought, I didnt get to have my nap today. I haven't been napping lately....hummm I guess my mind is too busy. *I shall rest my weary mind because tomorrow, if promised, will be better.*

I miss my boyfriend too :( I haven't seen him since December 18, 2010 and I most likely won't see him till January 16 or 17th :(
