I started to jog again, and it felt good. I just jog inside the compound after class. I hope I could do this regularly for at least this year, while I'm on training. It feels like I’m gaining so much weight now since we just sit all day at class and sit all night to study, plus I always have my midnight snack, now that the fridge is just inside our room. I need to seriously exercise and lose some pounds or else I’ll end up buying more clothes.

Last week's midterm exam was very exhausting. We had to take 8 tests in 2 days. Whew! Back in college, the major exams are distributed in one week. So here I am, trying to have a laid back weekend, hoping to regain my energy. I just need something to inspire me today. :(

It's a happy new year!!!! A new course, new set of friends, new place.... a lot of new things to be thankful for.

This year will be more challenging for me as i continue with my course in Meteorology. I have been busy since I got back here in Manila since next week will be our midterm exam. It's really like college all over again but with more effort. I just hope i'll make it 'til the end of this course. The road ahead is uncertain but I'm prayin' that I am taking the road which God wants me to take.

I am so thankful for all the wonderful things that happened this year, and some of the highlights are:

MARCH - Had a great summer vacation with the whole family. Everyone was there. But now, the thought that I may have to wait for several years for that to happen again, saddens me, but I'm very happy for my sister’s family for a wonderful journey and I wish them good luck for their next home.

JULY - Bali, Indonesia trip with besty Chanty and MayJoy.

It was amazing! Super turista mode.

AUGUST - First time in Boracay

Me and my sis Joan, visited the island for the first time. We fell in love with the place!

NOVEMBER - Attended the Meteorologist Training Course

This could really be It! I am putting my heart and mind into this training and I have never studied this hard before. This started unexpectedly and things just happened fast and smoothly. I am fervently praying that everything goes well for the next months to come.

Tomorrow will be the first day of the 6-month training here in Quezon City and I hope I will be able to adjust quickly. My schedule’s flexible for the past 3 years and this new routine will be a big change for me – will wake up at 6am, take the jeepney, eat at carenderia, sleep in a double deck bed – feels like college again.
Good thing I came here few days early, I had the chance to familiarize myself with the place. I was able to pass by the training area and sadly, I don’t find it safe, so I really have to be more careful now.

NO to Dowell

Do not buy any Dowell appliance. Look what happened to our electric fan:

This is just a year and some months old. This happened the other night. I was about to sleep so I turned on the fan as I normally do. After maybe an hour, one of the blades suddenly broke which caused a very loud noise. I was really surprise to see my fan, still on swing mode but the blades already stopped turning.

We also had a Dowell air cooler before, but it stopped working after a year and few months. So DON'T BUY ANYTHING DOWELL.

I didn't like it. I'm going to rate their pilot episode with 3/10. It was supposed to be an appetizer for the season but I just lost the appetite for the show. Their cover for the song Unwell and Maneater is awful. I know each of them is a good singer or dancer but I don't see any chemistry between the characters. If this was a stage play, maybe it'll be good, but not on TV.

I was really surprised when I learned that they are already married. Paul was my 2nd favourite during American Idol season 10 (next to Haley). Things happened so fast for them. Their first meeting was last MARCH during the premiere of Red Riding Hood, when the AI finalists were invited. Then last MAY they were spotted sporting matching permanent tattoos, and last Sunday, they got married. I hope their “I DOs” are forever. Ahhhyy, another MATCH MADE IN HOLLYWOOD.

Another surprise, SYLAR (Zachary Quinto) is gay.

35th Milo Marathon

The event was held yesterday at Tagbilaran city which started at 5:30am. It was my first time to join a marathon and me & my friends ran the 5k race. It was a nice experience and I hope there will be more marathons in Bohol in the months to come. It was fun and we ended the race w/ breakfast at Caingget.

Lovin' Boracay

After years of hoping to visit the place, I finally did, with my sister. It was the perfect time to visit, during off peak season. We were able to have fun at the beach, have water sport, have a wonderful night out, relax, and work at the same time. Yeah, we are boring; we brought work with us, while enjoying their happy hour. :)

We had to travel from Bohol, took a fast ferry to Cebu then took a 50 min flight to Caticlan. Upon arrival at their airport, we registered at their tourist desk and paid 115php per head and this includes tricycle (from airport to seaport), boat fare (caticlan to boracay) and environmental fee. So there was no hassle since you already paid everything and just present your tickets when needed. It's just convenient so it's not really practical to pay transfers w/ your hotel.

When we arrived at the Boracay port, we took a tricycle going to our hotel at station 3, Arwana hotel and our vacation began.

Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia the Musical is coming to Manila next year, on Jan 24-Feb 05 and I'll definitely watch it. I am a fan of ABBA songs and I am sure that I’m going to enjoy it. The movie is great and it will be more awesome to see it live on stage! I am excited. The venue is in CCP Main Theater and ticket prices ranges from 800-7200 pesos.

Miss Saigon, you’re still on top of my list, but I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see you. But I Still Believe that the Sun and Moon will hear my wishes so there will be a chance for me to watch the musical in my mind, before the Last Night of the World. :)

Wicked is also coming to Singapore this December, but I know I can't be there, so Mamma Mia, here I go!!

Travel, trip, tour

Thank God I'm blessed with travels, and next stop will be Boracay, with my sister. I've been wanting to go to this place since I don't know when and finally, we have booked a ticket and a hotel for next week. I just pray there won't be any more typhoon.

My BALI experience (part II)

The 3rd day at Bali was beach day for us. We rented the same car and this time we only paid 400,000 Rupiah for the whole day. We visited 5 beaches as suggested by our driver/guide, Nyuman.

First beach was for the water sports. We really didn't stay long since we didn't try any. I wanted the Flying Fish but it requires a minimum of 2 and I'm the only one interested, so we hopped to the next stop at Geger Beach, Nusa Dua. They have sunbeds there and we rented it for 20,000 Rupiah (112 PhP).

After two hours, we then proceeded to Padang Padang beach. There aren't many stores in the area so you better buy the things you need before you go here.

We then proceeded to the beautiful Dreamland beach, had so much fun here with the big waves, I literally rolled with the waves.

And to end the day, we went to one of the restaurants in Jimbaran and had a sunset dinner.

My BALI experience (part I)

July was indeed good to me. My trip to Bali went well and I had so much fun. I am so thankful that I didn’t encounter any problems at Denpasar immigration but it's still so unfair that only Filipinos are being thoroughly checked.

I departed from SG on the 28th of July, and took a 2hour and 40mins flight by ValuAir (Jet Star). Upon arrival, I took a cab straight to my hotel, Sayang Maha Mertha. Chanty and Joy were already there when I arrived, they came from Bangkok. I know you can find many negative reviews about this hotel, but this is a cheap hotel, so given the price, it's a very good deal. Of course, you don't expect to get wine if you paid for water. It was really basic- bed, shower, towels, soap, breakfast, small swimming pool and friendly staff who can understand English. It's just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, the restaurants and bars, and there's also a convenience store nearby.

We spend the afternoon strolling in the streets of Legian area and walked their long beach line. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach, just relaxing, listening to the sound of the big waves and enjoying a good view of the surfers passing by(wink), while drinking a bottle of their famous Bintang beer.

The next day, we got up early and were able to book an affordable cab for 450,000 Rupiah (2,500 Php) for 10 hours. We're lucky to have a good driver and he can speak English well, too. First stop is Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi:

We then proceeded to Ulun Danu, located in lake Beratan, Bedugul. It was very cold there, and the place is beautiful. In this area you can find very cheap strawberries; you can get a pack for 5,000 Rupiah (28 Php).

Next stop was at a Gitgit waterfalls.

We stopped for lunch and then proceeded to Ales Kedaton Monkey Forest. If you’re scared of monkeys, don't go there. And do not shop there, it's very expensive.

We then proceeded to Tanah Lot temple, with a spectacular view of the ocean and the rocks, plus a breathtaking sunset. This is also a good place to shop.

- it felt like i waited for the result of an interview for a job i really want

then the officer told me "I already talked to your sister", her statement actually made me speechless since I didn't know what she said to my sis. So I just waited a few minutes more, hoping and praying.

Then finally, they let me IN. :D
