LE CRAIG

2013-04-11T09:16:00.001-07:00

"LE CRAIG"

Obviously to me, there was only one way I could have honored Craig's memory, and that was to accomplish Craig's idea of creating our own custom cycling jersey. As I wrote in my previous blog, this was one of Craig's last goals, and he was very excited about accomplishing this goal.

See link:

The meaning behind it all.

http://www.kungfushoes.net/2013/03/craig-leocean-logo.html

Instead of typing what this jersey means to myself and Craig, and getting all teary eyed, again, I thought it would be way cooler to show you (as I did with the logo) the evolution of "Le Craig" 16.

I hope I did you proud.

CRAIG LEOCEAN LOGO

2013-03-20T11:38:00.001-07:00

"THE CRAIG LEOCEAN LOGO"

First off; I miss you with all of my heart every single day! I hope I made you proud!

(I am writing this while listening to Metallica's Black Album)

Before my best friend Craig Lee passed away, we had conjured up a ton of plans for the this spring, the Summer, and even through the following winter. They ranged from taking the kids to the ZOO, Riding out to Zuma, riding the LBC marathon, Chili's (inside joke) and Santa Monica beach rides; I am telling you, we had tons of plans. One of the plans, and or ideas we came up with, was to create our own cycling jersey. I was all for it and I was more then willing to do whatever it took, but Craig, Craig was the true driving force, in more ways then he may or may never know.

I have witnessed Craig motivated before, but he was a bit more driven on getting this goal accomplished . He went as far as researching for a company to make the jerseys, he got prices, he emailed a few people, came up with a few slogans, and had multiple emails from a fellow named "Momo", who offered Skype (seriously), which is a bit creepy cool. This is how I knew he was serious.

email example from Momo.

During the back and fourth emails, Craig asked me to come up with something for the jersey, and I said, sure. Now, designing is not my cup of tea, but for Craig, I would give it a shot.

One morning after some Cycling and during breakfast Beers, we started tossing ideas out there, and that's when I opened my mouth and created our road block. What I said was, "dude, we need a logo". Yeah, the kiss of death, end game, fat lady has just finished signing, put a fork in it, and what not.

Putting text on a jersey is one thing, but coming up with a logo and finding someone to draw it; yeah, it was easier to make plans with Rick! (sorry Rick, but how true and bad ass of a reference was that?)

So, that is where we stood, and stood we did.

After Craig passed, I was devastated and heart broken, so I decided to torture myself by reading his last emails and text messages. Thanks to my really odd way of grieving, I knew what I needed and wanted to do!

I had to make Craig's dream of creating our own jersey come true!

texts from Craig

About a week later, I started working on the logo, but I still had no idea what to do. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks!! In his passing, Craig gave me our logo, and I knew exactly what I waned to create.

I wanted to recreate Craig!!

I wanted to show everyone how I saw him when he was riding his bike! And, I knew it had to have skulls.

Now, as I mentioned before, designing was not my thing and it was very alien to me, and I also felt that I sucked at drawing.

I decided I would draw up some doodles, and show and enlist a real artist that did not suck, what I/we wanted. Cool, now it will not suck!

Here are the original doodles.

Told ya I sucked!

After a few of these disturbing attempts, and sticking with it all day, I finally came up with the doodle below by using a blue ball point pen and a black sharpe, and I actually dug it.

I keep this original doodle in my wallet. And forever that is where it will remain.

Now that I had my rough idea on paper, I needed an artist. I gave it a lot of thought and came up with a few names, but that's when I remembered this text from Craig.

Craig wanted me to create the jersey, and he called me out by using the "Do it Doug" reference, and all the cool kids know that you can not deny the Do it Doug challenge. Well played sir, well played! I knew it was going to be like trying to ice skate uphill , but I had to try in honor of Craig.

So, after so many beers, failures, re-dos, and 967 F bombs, I finally created the logo, and I loved it!!

This blog is less about the details that went in to making of the jersey and logo, and how it made me feel, and how I broke down in to tears when I was done designing the logo and jersey. This Blog is more to provide you with a quick look of the evolution of the Logo, which I am most proud of, and to show you how my friend Craig believed in me, and in death, he showed me that I do not suck that bad after all.

I love you, and I miss you brother, thank you for believing in me!

The night the Earth shook, spun, and purged!

I fancy myself as a decent "Beer" drinker, one that usually holds his own, but last Saturday night I was proven wrong by my murderous trader stomach!

I am definitely not making any excuses for poor execution of holding my liquor, and when I type the word liquor, I really mean beer and two shots, yeah, sad, I know. However, during the week I was hit pretty hard with a stomach virus that forced me to miss a day of work and granted me a trip to Urgent Care.

Side note:The Doctor at the Urgent Care looked a lot like this guy

Yeah,I know, that is pretty racist and morally wrong, but fuck you, it's the truth! In all honesty, if he looked like this guy

I would have posted a picture some what similar to the one above.True story

Anyways, I was advised by my Doctor to stay away for a few days from all foods of the meat family, especially the ones that are "dick-shaped" I took his recommendation seriously, and started on my B.R.A.T. diet.

B.R.A.T. = Beer, roadkill, Ass and Tits

The good Doctor did not mention anything about staying away from drinking any harsh liquids like beer, shots, and or gasoline, so do I blame Osama for not holding my hand and warning of the obvious dangers? Of course I do not blame him! Any sensible right minded idiot would know better, but no, not this guy/idiot.

A few days went by and my stomach was doing better, however, on that Friday, during jury duty, my stomach decided to treat me to a few unplanned and undesired bowl sessions, yeah, red flag guy, hello?!?!?!

Saturday morning I was feeling fine, and I was excited to hang at the bar with my friends and Wife, which totally blocked any thought of taking it easy, as a matter of fact, I just kept playing Reel big Fish's, Beer song, in my head all day. Doomed, or dumb, same shit.

Saturday night at the bar: After a few beers and a few shots, I went outside for a smoke (Cigarette), and that's when the Shit hit the fan, or the vomit hit the door (I will display in a moment).

Before all Hell broke loose, I did manage to whip out my phone at 12:06am and text my Wife a one worded S.O.S; and that magical word was "DONE"!...see below...

Any pro dive bar dweller, who receives a text message at Midnight with the word "Done", knows exactly what that small but powerful word really means. For those of you who choose not to crawl out of dive bars at closing time like us, this is what it means:

"HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, PLEASE CARRY MY ASS HOME BEFORE I LINDA BLAIR THIS MOTHER FUCKING PLACE, AND YOU PLEAD WITH ME, DEMME, WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME DEMME, WHY"?!

My wife who I love to death is not a bar dwelling pro, so she missed the Stone Cutter like encrypted message. Actually she thought it as a reply from a text she had sent me moments earlier.

Now, I could have walked up to her, without entering back in to the bar, and say, "hey, let's quietly sneak out of here before I make guacamole, However, I did not. I am drunk, so like any professional drunks, you take your ass back in to the bar so you can either make an ass of yourself and get thrown out, or toss the cookies, and quietly while invisible (in your own mind) float away and barf all over your self. Yeah, I chose the latter.

That is the Vomit hitting the Door

(I am glad I didn't have any corn for lunch)

Fuck.

That was my Saturday night I felt really bad for my Wife who hardly ever joins me at the bar.

Yeah, that feeling of remorse went right out the window the next day when she rightfully, and proudly proclaimed me as "King Barfy".

I except thee Honor and thee future shaming.

Believe it or not, that night I actually learned a few lessons, three to be exact.

I have the most amazing but weak stomach wife in the whole world. Thank you babe for having a sense of humor and not getting pissed, and allowing me to hold my own hair as I Spewed all over Pasadena, thank you!
Stomach Viruses does not play well with penis shaped foods and Liquor.
I have the best of friends (and brother) who looked after me that night, I thank you all.

I even have this great picture of them giving me a "get better soon buddy" one finger salute, you guys are the fucking ~~BEST~~!

until next time...at Weiland's ;)

The Annexation of Puerto Rico

2012-12-06T12:57:00.001-08:00

The Annexation of Puerto Rico

AKA

Josh/Taco's Fantasy Football strategy

How does he do it? How does he win? What is his strategy? How does it work? Who really cares?

Well, we, the members of my current Fantasy Football league have been asking ourselves this very question for the last few years, and I have decided to take a few minutes and break it down, in order to get to the bottom of his non-approach, approach.

Here is his strategy in a nut shell.

He does not pay attention to his team, no really!

Here is the proof, well sort of:

He does not check his players everyday, and sometimes not even once a week. See number 2 and 3, for the reasons why.
He does not own a computer. Keep in mind, we play online
He just installed the Fantasy Football app on his phone, 2 weeks ago
He tried to pick up a player he already had on his team, he was just on his bench
Every week he calls me to ask me if he won or lost

The year he won it all, we were watching Football on T.V. during our Fantasy Football playoffs, and he noticed one of his players was having a big game, so he turns to me and says, "damn I wish I had started that guy", I turn to him and tell him, "really dude, you and I finished in first and second place, so that means we both have byes in the first round".His reply, "oh, no shit"? Me, "yes, no shit"!

The Devil is in the details

So his nonchalant, I can care less, Annexation of Puerto Rico strategy makes him look like this

We all like to think what really goes on in his mind is this

Here is another example of his strategy the The Annexation of Puerto Rico

Last year he drafted this guy, and came out with a winning record.

And, this year he drafted this guy, and finished yet again with a winning record!

Coincidence, or are Tight ends (no pun intended) the key, or is this the work of the Annexation of Puerto Rico?

So why do we call it the The Annexation of Puerto Rico? Does it matter? Apparently paying attention to a game that requires attention don't matter to Josh, so why the hell not. Perhaps his secret is not to over think things, just like what we did when we named his strategy.

HOWEVER.....

And, I urge you to take a moment and think about this for a few minutes: is it because The Annexation of Puerto Rico is also known as the "Fumbleroski"?

Don't know what the Fumblerooski is? Click here

Yes, misdirection!

Perhaps, Josh intentionally wants us to think he looks like this guy..

When we should really start thinking of him as this guy!

If it's good enough for the Little Giants, then I guess it's good enough for our Little Giant, Josh, AKA Taco!

So what do you think? What is your opinion?

Does this all make sense? Waste of time? Let me know what you think. Drop me a line, comment, critique me, touch me, and do you see what I did there?

Circle Jerking

2012-11-01T15:28:00.001-07:00

With Halloween and it's ghoulish trick O' treaters in it's rear view mirror, I thought it would be a ~~brilliant~~ idea to blog about the rules and the truth of an non-official "Circle Jerk", yeah, don't act like you never wanted to know!

Just because you know, don't mean you have to DO it!

The unofficial rule and truths to a Circle Jerk

A friend of mine and I were chatting about some random acts, when he said to me, "don't make me hold my elbow like in a circle jerk"! I had no idea what in the hell he was talking about. Turns out, he was referring to a rule in circle jerking. now, I have never done one, and don't plan on doing one, but come on, lets be honest, everyone always wondered what were the rules, the in and outs (no pun intended) and what really goes on.

So, I decided to adjust my nuts, take one for the team, and do a bit of research, which I am sure I will hear it from friends later on..."dude you are gay", yeah, I know a few 12 year old boys. Okay, here we go...

Definition of a Circle jerk:

A circle jerk is a sexual practice in which a group of men or boys form a circle and masturbate themselves or each other.^[1] In the metaphorical sense, the term is used to refer to a "boring or time-wasting meeting or other event".^[1]

Circle jerks are typically an experience of adolescents in early puberty and often feature a competitive element, with the "winner" being the participant able to ejaculate first.^[1]^[2] They can serve as an introduction to sexual relations with other males, and are a sexual outlet at an age when regular sexual intercourse with a girl is not possible.^[1]

^{Courtesy of Wikipedia.com}

Don't listen to the people who say it's a gay only act. And, don't listen to anyone who talks about how you have to cum on a cracker or biscuit, or that one guy has to be in the middle for everyone to cum on him. That stuff only happens in gay porno with straight actors. And maybe in all-gay circle jerks, but that is far from what were are going over today,

There are two types of contests you can have.

1. When all of the guys just masturbate themselves. In that one the object is to ejaculate as fast as you can, and the winner is the first one to squirt.

Of course no one wants to be that guy, and high levels of cheating, and edging are involved.

2.The other game is where each guy strokes the guy to his right. In that type of circle jerk the object is to be the LAST guy to ejaculate.

Because it's harder to hold it off when someone else is doing it to you, which is much harder to cheat at, unless you are totally against some other dude touching you, well then you wouldn't be there in the first place. So, each guy is trying his best to get off the guy he is stroking while desperately trying to ignore the stroking that the guy to his left is doing to him.

The rules can vary for the guys who get disqualified by cumming. You could have them stay in and keep stroking the guy they are working on, or have them back out of the circle so the circle keeps getting smaller until there are just two guys stroking each other.

So, it goes without sying that the rules can be modified, or follow the standard format, but again, the whole biscuit eating, and nutting on your neighbor in a very gay way, is not the only way to play, unless you are in to that stuff.

The game in a nut shell, is for dudes who cant get girls, are voyeurs, enjoy group scenes, or just like to show off their staying power, and G.I. Joe kung fu grip.

P.S. with the more I learn on the subject, I will be updating and editing this "live" Blog.
