Are Our Kids Taking OVER????

It is amazing how in these days and times, we the adults seem to have lost our place in the household Hierarchy. More and more everyday our children for some unearthly reason think that it is their time to take the rains and become the leaders of our castles.

I am 43 years old, and I can remember it like it was yesterday, I would not even dreamed of doing half of the things the kids these days are doing and or saying.

From what I can recall, back when I was growing up, a kid knew and understood his or her place in the household hierarchy. We would not even dare to talk back, let alone out right disrespect our parents, in any way, shape, form or fashion, and if we did, we got a spanking.

What about school, we did not talk back to teachers, or dare or even think about taking knives, or guns to school. Of coarse there where some hard headed kids, but those kids where very few, and they where dealt with by the teachers, principal, and once you got home, your parents!!

Now days, it seems that kids do and or say what ever they want, and if we the parents, teachers, or legal guardians, try to stop them we get the third degree. Not from other adults, but from our children.

They yell, scream, and fight with us. Not to mention if you remember the Menendez Brothers even go as far as kill, to get what they want.

They tell you and I, spanking is detrimental to your child, and can cause behavioral problems. This was via a post I read on CNN Opinion, dated and or updated on October 22, 2013. But can you really make this point, one has to wonder. Look at it this way, how many kids, that where born before the 90's like I was, killed his or her parents, made a bomb threat in a school, or went to school with the intention of killing other students. Go ahead and count up, and I want you to use your fingers and toes, and give me a number. I really cannot come up with any, how about you?

Now I am all for our youth, given the right to find their own identity, as well as their right to privacy. But isn't it our mission to guide, and teach them, and not the other way around.

The Bible reads in Proverbs 13:24 "Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them."

Now I am not saying or do I condone, or am and advocate of child abuse by any means. But I am just asking the question, if we as parents, adults, teachers, legal guardians, take the time and where given the opportunity to practice the same discipline we experienced when we were growing up, would we receive the same respect that you or I give our parents, or elders today.

Why I Am Not A Fan Of Trump Or Hillary

Ladies and Gentleman, it is now coming down to the wire. We have only seventeen (17) days left until there is a new President, and it will be either Hillary or Trump.

Now, there is those that are for and or against both candidates, for his/her own reason, but for me the choice is obvious, NONE OF THE ABOVE!!

OK, here is my reasoning:

Hillary, while america is ready for a female President, I do not at all think that Mrs. Clinton is the one for me. It seems that she is not trust worthy at all, she constantly hides things and not to mention she speaks around the issues. While the email scandal should not be an issue, the fact of the matter is, is that how can you be a public official and not know that, because of your position, that you should not us a private server, to handle confidential and or classified materials. Also, how can you in good standings, become a senator for another state, and not your own, is it because your state had a good standing senator, that still had a substantial amount of time left, and you knew that you needed to to hold a high level government seat, before you could make a bid for president, and your state could not produce the opportunity fast enough. I wonder!!

Donald, I do understand that we need someone that will open his/her mouth and say what needs to be said, but don't you think that sometimes we especially a elected official sometimes, pick or have common sense of what comes out of his/her mouth, especially when they themselves do not know the facts. Not to mention do you not think that all Americans should be held to the same standards, and should not use their status to justify their misdoings? Do you honestly think that Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby and other men/women with so called celebrity status should be prosecuted for their offenses towards women or men, but what you did was justified when you objectified women.

It seems to me that one is searching for the power of the presidency, and the other wants to abuse the power of the presidency, you be the Judge!!

Do I Exist I Mean, You Can See Me Right!!

I have been living on this earth for the past 42 going on 43 years now, and it still astounds me how people will look right at you, and through you as if I or we do not Exist!!

Have you ever been standing in line at a grocery store, at the movies, waiting on gas, or any where for that matter and felt someone staring at you? Not staring at you like they were interested in you, but just peering at you like they knew you? Then all of the sudden you turn around, look him/her right in the eyes, wave as if to say hello, and they do not even wave back, but what they do instead is look away, as if your weren't even there.

Or, have you had the same situation as above, and given a nod, you know the simple unspoken hello, and get the same reaction?

What about when you actually open your mouth to speak to him/her, and they continue to do the same thing?

I guess for some strange reason, unbeknownst to me, I am not a person! But wait a minute, when God said it was time again, for my mother and father to conceive, do believe I became a person.

Blood runs through my veins, just like yours. When I get hurt either mentally or physically, I feel it, I put on my pants the same as any other person, not to mention I can walk, talk, and a lot of other humanely things.

So now does this make me a person to you?? If not stop staring, and peering at me like you see someone you know.

But if it does make me a person, I mean an actual flesh and blood person, Then for God's sake ACKNOWLEDGE MY EXISTENCE!!

Who among us can honestly trace their roots, and or heritage back, to the original America. No one can, because according to the scientist, first it was monkeys, Neanderthals, then the Indians, then the Pilgrims.

Not to mention to make matters worst, he is got an endorsement from or all people Sarah Palin, not that I am against woman, but come on now, the majority or all republicans, thought she was spaced out.

OK so a lot is being said about Donald Trump, some good some bad.

But I ask you this seriously, who wants this guy to be President? Not me I tell you.

In an age of being, Politically correct, and supposedly equality towards all, this guy goes against it all.

Yes I know he tells it like it is, no matter if it hurts your feelings or not, but honestly to me, Trump is for Trump, and not for the American people.

He is a bully, he is sexist, and if you read between the lines, to me he is a raciest.

Now I am not saying and or typing this post to tell you whom/whom not to vote for, all I am saying is just pay attention whom you choose to cast your vote.

Right now, I personally do not feel that any of the current candidates, running and or making the bid for the 2016 Presidency is or will be worthy of my vote!

What If The Cop Was Black

I have been asked, I am assuming since I am a black man, by some of my friends and or associates, what do I think of the Micheal Brown shooting.

So here is my opinion, and this is solely my opinion.

From watching the whole ordeal on TV of coarse, you know the media will blow as much as they can completely out of proportion, and then try to retract their statements if they are wrong.

Not taking sides, or try to figure out who is right/wrong, I think the blame should go on both sides!

Reason being, from what I have read, heard, understood, Mr. Brown was wrong, for shop lifting. If he would not have taken what did not rightfully belong to him, then maybe, just maybe Officer Wilson, would not attempted to stop, apprehend, and or Kill Mr. Brown.

Another Reason, if there had already been a history of Racial Stereotyping, already present in the Ferguson P.D. then maybe, just maybe Mr. Brown, would not have felt like he needed to forcefully defend himself from Officer Wilson, which led to his unfortunate death!

I am not trying to take sides, and not because I am black, but it is my strong belief that this is a very unpleasant incandescent for both sides.

Now I have a question for you, what if the shoe was on the other foot, would we be discussing this?

I mean what if the cop/officer was Black, and it was a white/Caucasian kid that he killed, would we even be talking about this, would the people of Ferguson MI,as well as the other states be rioting? I honestly do not think so.

Not to mention, isn't there a better way to try to come to a positive conclusion, other than destroying, businesses, especially the black owned ones.

It seems to me, that we as African Americans, and or Black people, should work on ways to uplift our race, and not create more situations, that would add to our destruction.

My step-son asked me the other day, why is it that black people can call themselves the (N) word as well as refer to other black people and anyone else for that matter as a Nigga, or Nigger and it is ,alright or rather sociably acceptable, but as soon as a white person even attempt to open their mouth to say it, then there is conflict, or someone is ready to fight.

My response to him was I do not know!!

You see, when I was younger I did the same thing, I refereed to my fellow African Americans the same way, and it never crossed my mind that I was demoralizing any one, not to mention myself, as well as I was showing my ignorance.

But as 1st Corinthians 13:11 reads " When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

As I have gotten older, I have came to understand that if I refer to myself as a Nigger, or Nigga then why can't others call me what I call myself. Please understand I do not refer to myself in this fashion so, I do not expect to be seen or refereed to as such.

We see it every day, black comedians, rappers as some actors use this word like it is water, it rolls off their tongues like water. But as soon as someone else of another race calls you the same you are ready to throw blows, you want to sue, or ready to call the NAACP. You want to call to arms all the black people you can find to fight the power(s) for doing you wrong, when you are the one that refereed to yourself and your fellow African Americans as such.

A lot of African Americans are saying that we have came a long way, from the cotton field to the board room, which is true, but we need to learn to respect ourselves before we can expect anyone else too, if this makes sense.

I am pretty sure that if you enjoy football as well as I do, then you have all heard and or read about Micheal Sam, The All-American lineman who is headed to the combine, in hopes some say can go in or between the 1st and 3rd round of the draft, oh yeah & he is Gay.

Now let me clear one thing for you, while I do not condone in any way homosexuality, I do believe that people should be able to live his/her own life they way he/she sees fit.

OK, since that has been laid out, what does this mean to me an avid fan of pro football, it just means that I will continue to watch and enjoy the game the same way I always did.

I personally do not think that this would or could hurt the game in anyway, shape or form. It seems to me that there are far more things to worry about then a persons personal or sexual preference. I mean come on, with all the changes that have been made in the game of football from the ball being placed on the 30 yard line to avoid collisions, to the way the players can hit each other.

This guy is 6'2 255 lbs, and from my understanding one heck of a pass rusher, so it sounds to me that there would not be any reason to deny him the opportunity. He should be judged on his ability or inability to play the game, and not the company he prefers to keep. I will gladly root for him if my team the Carolina Panthers Picks him in the draft!!

Why Can't Celebrities Speak Their Mind?

Why can't celebrities speak their mind? I mean come on now, it seems to me that each and ever person, be it man, woman, or what ever should have this right. Which if I am not mistaken is covered under the first amendment of the United States Constitution, known as the Freedom Of Speech!

Basically, this gives us the right to say and or speak what is on our mind, be it fact or fiction. Understanding that we may or may not be held accountable for what we say, but also with the understanding that what you or I said is only our opinion.

Everybody remembers this right

Not trying to reopen old wounds, but it is when Kanye West stepped in on Taylor Swifts VMA moment to say that Beyonce's should have got the award for best video and not Taylor. Now I am not condoning the manner in which he expressed his opinion, I do believe it could have been done in another way, via talk show, back stage, etc. He did have this right to speak his mind. Just not in front of Miss. Swift when she was accepting her award.

The reason why I say this is because of recent events. Phil Robertson granted GQ magazine and interview, and was quoted saying what he honestly felt, and I do believe speaking from the way he was raised. From my understanding he was quoted saying
"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical.

Now from what I have read and or understand, this is Phil's opinion, not yours or mine, can you fault a man or any person for that manner for the way he or she was raised? I mean I do acknowledge the he as well as we should all be more open minded, can or should we honestly hold this him?

He is a grown man, who was raised to with the belief that men should not sleep with men, and women should not sleep with women, because it was and is sinful, if you read your bible Leviticus 20:13 speaks on this. Now I believe that any man or woman should have the right to do what he/she wants with his or her own body, this is what he believes in, and the way he was brought up. Do you no still reflect on your up bringing, I do from time to time.

I do not personally think that his remarks should be taken as Anti-Gay, I think they should be taken as one grown man giving and honest answer to a question he was asked. What Do You Think!!

The Doors Are Finally Open!!

Well today is the day, yep that is right, our Government opened back up the doors, and went back to work!!

Yep that's right the KIDS stopped pouting, took their diapers off, put on they're big boy and girls pants and started working together...lol

For the past 16 days the our government decided that it would be better to not work at all, then to work together to resolve their issues, and what happened nothing, I mean absolutely nothing. The only thing that happened was they put a lot of people out of work, which in turn, laid the foundation for a lot of distrust in our Federal Government, as well as distrust inside their own parties from republicans, to democrats as well as the the tea party a like.

It is a shame that the folks we vote into office, can not even take the time to think about the people who voted for them. The are all so busy, worrying about themselves and their own agenda's that they can't even take the time to listen and or understand you and I.

Our government was built on checks and balances, not to mention the ability to compromise, We will always have a difference of opinion, but it is how we handle our differences that makes us so great.

We as a people and you as our leaders, should learn to compromise with one another, in order to embrace and respect one another opinion. We should understand that there will always be a difference of opinion that will challenge us, but it is how we deal with those challenges that will either unit or divide us.

It seems to me that a government by the people and for the people should have maybe remembered the people in the first place!! I mean!!

Let's Take Care Of Us, The U.S.

In this day and age, with all of our technology, why can't we as a people, take the time to take care of ourselves?

I am not talking about physical fitness, although I can afford to loose a few pounds, nor am I talking about getting a hair cut, even though I am bald..LOL, I am not even talking about getting a manicure or pedicure Ladies....LOL.

What I am referring to is, our Government really needs to stop looking after, taking care of, and or butting in, were we are obviously not wanted, and or needed, as well as appreciated.

If you are trying to think of what I am referring to, I am talking about the current situation going on in Syria. Where as the Syrian Regime, Dumb Asses for lack of a better term, and or because that is what they are, have taken it upon themselves to use chemical weapons against there own people.

Our Federal Government is thinking about and or considering taking action against the Syrian Regime, for their unspeakable actions. They are asking the question Should they be punished.

Yes, you are damn right they should be punished, they should have be forced to undergo the same chemical attack that they, force fed their own people. But I say unto you that we should not get involved!

This is my opinion, but I think that with all the things going on here, in these United States of ours we need to worry, and or be more concerned with our own business before we worry about somebody else's. I mean come on now, look at the economy, I know at the current time we are starting to make a turn from worst to bad...LOL and even after that we still have to go from bad to good, but we need to try and figure out how to get ourselves back on track. Look at this Federal Government, we use to have the best economy in the world, as well as the almighty dollar was worth way more than it does today, but now we are falling way behind. I believe that we with all the stuff being made in China, shouldn't we all be speaking Chinese?

Our schools are trying to play catch up with China's. Their kids are learning how to make all these electronics's, that our kids can not seem to tear themselves away from, so much for Bush's "No Kid Left Behind" right?

We have proven that we have enough oil to sustain us for at least 50 years, and by then we won't the car's be running on used cooking oil, poop, or hydrogen or something. So shouldn't we think about cutting off our imports, would this not send a message, the message being, if you are going to act completely idiotic, then you can forget about U.S. Aid, because we have our own problems to worry about.

Does this make sense to you, because it sure makes sense to me!!

All I am saying is Hey Our Federal Government, "LET'S SWEEP AROUND OUR OWN BACK DOOR, BEFORE WE TRY TO SWEEP AROUND SOMEONE ELSE'S"

When I Was A Child!!!!!

We have heard this day in and day out, "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, and I played as a child, but when I became a man, I put away my childish things.

Or Better yet 1st Corinthians 13:11" When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me."

It is the when I was a child part that I am concerned with right now!

Like when I was a child, I talked and or spoke as a child. I did not speak or cut in on any adults conversation, nor did I lend my input when i was not asked too, & of coarse I did not raise my voice to any adult. Now a days, kids do not understand this. I cannot tell you how many conversations that I have had and or tried to have with other adults, and a kid would lend his/her two cents worth, and a lot of times they do not even know what the conversation is about, and when you ask them nicely to please remove themselves from your conversation they look at you like you are crazy!! I am not saying that they should not speak at all, but just to understand what their place is, that's all.

When I was a child, I thought as a child. These kids today, think they are grown and the adults are the children!! I was listening to a kid the other day talk to his mom and dad, and he was yelling at them and chastising them as if he gave them life, and not the other way around. When I was growing up, if I even look like I was going to raise my voice at any of my elders, I would have been picking myself up off the floor. I am not saying a child should not voice their opinion, but they need to understand when as well as how to do it.

When I was a child, I played as a child. A lot of kids today would rather hang around adults more than hang out and play with other kids. I tell a lot of kids including our own, to take time to be a kid, because those are the times that you wish you can go back to, being care free and enjoying your days not wondering about can I pay my bills, or will I have a good day at work. Enjoy the time that you have to hang out with friends, and fish, swim, play sports, and things like that. Basically enjoy your child hood as much as you can!!

Because when you become a man/woman, all the childish things you use to enjoy, you cannot enjoy any more.

We can go back and forth over this for days, weeks, months, years, and maybe even for the rest of our lives, but when is it OK to spank your child?

I ask this question because, it seems that it is never OK to spank your child when he/she/they do anything wrong. I remember when I was growing up, if I had enough nerve to back talk my parents, grandmother, aunts, uncles, or any grown up for that matter, I would have been lying on my back looking up and them while I apologized the the grown up or elder I was back talking. If I did something wrong I was spanked for it, which made me not want to do it again or just not get caught the next time, and God forbid i raised my voice then you probably would not have seen me, for a few days.

So my question to you is When is it OK to Spank Your Child?

Is it OK, when he/she/they are mean and or disrespectful to one another?
Begin to treat you the parent like you where the child?
Back talk or raise his/her voice at or to you?
What about when they go out on a rampage an kill a bunch of kids?
Or maybe it is when they take your car for a joy ride?
How about when they bully other kids?

Obliviously, in these United States, it is frowned upon. and I do understand why, because some folks are as well as can be abusive, not to mention they can get way out of hand, but what about a regular spanking.

but what exactly is a regular spanking? I cannot answer that question, because when I was growing up, when I got a spanking it was with a belt, or switch, but it never lasted long, as well as it was over in like two minutes. It was just enough to let me know that I had did wrong, and that kind of behavior was not happen again.

If you consider yourself a Christian, or you follow your bible, do you not remember Proverbs 13:24 which states " He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes." This does mean that you should spank your child or children until he/she/they are unconscious, but it gives them the understanding that they did something that warrants an appropriate reprimand. Look at Proverbs 29:15 which states "A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother."

Do You Know My America??

Do you know my America? I wanted to ask this question because, I really do not think that the majority of you know and or understand My America.

You remember the saying either from school or from other people telling you that, in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue, don't you? Well it is at that point, when this became My America, because if Christopher would have never discovered the new world, then that would have put all the other events in history behind.

Of coarse, some can argue that when Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation back in 1863 to free the slaves, and in 1865 the when the 13th amendment was adopted into the constitution, which abolished slavery, is when I can say this became My America, but I have never been a slave,nor was my mom, grandmother/father, so I consider My America starting, when Columbus discovered this world.

Did you know that in My America, we are all united in the common goal, which is to make My America a better place.

You See in my America, kids listen to their elders, and understand what it means to be a child as well as, they stay in a child's place. They understand the meaning of Honour Thy Father and Thy Mother. They do not talk back, not to mention they don't treat their parents like they are the kids, and the kids are the adults. Children do what they are asked to do, and get it done in a timely manner. Kids are always respectful, and when they do something wrong, they realize their mistake, and accept the punishment that they are given. But remember this is only in My America!

In My America, there is no senseless, murders, bombings, or killings, because we realize that we are all human and we are all created different, and we accept each others differences for what they are. We do not chastise folks for their beliefs, and we understand that it is our faith that keeps us strong. We believe in the 10 Commandments and keep them all close to our hearts. We treat people the way we want to be treated, & we do not set out to intentional hurt anyone, but again I tell you this is only in My America!

In My America, there is no rich or poor, you are not recognized by your status, only by the character of person for which you are. Everyone is Meek for they know that The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth. But again this is only My America!

In My America, when we say I Love you we mean it, there is no arterial motive. We are not looking to use, our fellow man and or woman for our own gain. We too, do not use the word love loosely, when we say it we mean it, and it is always from the heart, as well as we do not say it to your face & retract it behind your back. If there is a problem between two people, they figure out a way to work it out, and we do not hold grudges. But again, This is only My America!

Also in My America, a lot of products are made. Because we know as well as understand that the symbol Made In America, means not mention says a lot about My America. It says that we care about quality as well as profits. We know that made in My America keeps My America moving forward, and helps My America grow and become more prosperous. We also understand that by making products in My America, means that there are more jobs and less poverty in My America. Time and time again, everywhere you turn we have removed, forgon, and or disassociated ourselves with God. If you are a person of God, then you probably believe as I do that "In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth" (Genesis 1:1), and if you are a person of Science then you probably believe in the Big Bang, or you are a person that believes in both. What ever you choose to believe, it seems to me that by taking away one of the most important spiritual entities in our world might and or may be the cause of some of our issues today.

One has to wonder if, all the things that we have lived through, and or seen would have happened if maybe just maybe we as a people have been living by our traditional values as we once did three decades ago?

I mean think about it, would 9/11 even have happened if we were praying together each and every morning like we use too? Do you honestly think there would be and we would suffer so much turmoil in our schools? Would the since-less bombing even have happened? I would like to think not.

Maybe we have lost our since of unity, by not taking the the time to thank the spiritual being that you choose to pray to at your dinner table.

Isn't it funny how we can choose to pray before and President gets sworn in, or the Senate/Congress, begins their session or our city leaders begin a meeting, but we cannot take the time to in to pray in schools?

Should The Government Use Hackers To Follow Certain Websites?

I was watching my local news station today WHSV TV 3 and they where talking about DZHOKHAR TSARNAEV, you know the Boston Bomber that is still alive and also charged with Murder, as well as the use of WMD (weapons of mass destruction). From my understanding, evidently, he and his brother looked up how to make pressure cooker bombs on a website and or on-line search.

Hum, isn't it just amazing how this information is just available for any and all people, that want to learn and or understand how to build a WMD.

With all the websites that are being monitored, not to mention all the online directories being watched, as well as the chatter that our federal government seems to always be following, why can't they find and or follow these sites, as well as why are these sites still up, available, or even active for that matter?

It seems to me that with all the technology we are afforded these days, there has to be a way that we would be able to police the networks so to speak for these particular sites and destroy, dismantle, or even redirect them for that matter.

Think about this, in a matter of hours to a couple of days, using the latest technology the FBI had two suspects, and the FBI along with the Boston PD, ATF, and the State Police where in pursuit, killing one and wounding another.

Which brings me to my proposal. I know that we frown, and do not condone Hackers, but I am pretty sure that our government has some of the best at their disposal and on the payroll. So why not put them to work watching for sites like this, and have them take them down, or monitor them so that the folks that are wanting to learn how to make any kind of WMD whether large or small, can be found and dealt with sooner than latter, not to mention before situations like the Boston Bombing happen.

I know that this seems like they will be and or maybe infringing on our privacy and or some of our civil liberties for that matter, but I am not talking about the entire world wide web, but have the hackers watch the sites that deal with things of this nature. Because to me, I think and this is only my opinion that the folks that use, utilize, and or go to these sites are not looking through these types of sites just for kicks and giggles, I am thinking maybe just maybe most if not all are looking to hurt, injure, or destroy something or someone for that matter.

Look at it this way, almost all the bombers that have been caught, say they learned how to build the WMD from the Internet, am I right.

So please I am asking, nay Begging Homeland Security, CIA, FBI, DOD, ATF, Congress, The Senate, and even The White House, if you have the ability to watch, and or listen to the chatter on all other networks, then watch these as well.

Get some hackers in there to look out for these websites, let them do there thing, and take them down, destroy them, or better yet get their information and take them down before they hurt somebody else.

Now this is coming from a gun owner, who had to through many checks to get his permits, including he said "I went through eight weeks of background checks for which I had to pay. I had to supply a number of references. I was fingerprinted. My guns were registered. I have no problem with any of this." Quoted from the above blog.

He had not problem with the checks, so why are we so concerned with extended back ground checks, to get or obtain a gun? I do not believe that this is infringing upon our 2nd amendment rights. But for some reason some of our nations Senators are taking more time to listen to the Lobbyist holding the purse strings, and not the American people that voted him or her in.

He also went on to say "Ted Cruz, the junior senator from Texas, and supposedly a Harvard-trained attorney, dispensing garbage about slippery slopes and how background checks will lead to a gun Gestapo that will hound gun owners at every opportunity." Quoted from the above blog.

I remember when I received my first gun permit, I did not mind taking the time to wait through my back ground check. Once my permit came through, it was well worth it.

Maybe the people who are trying to avoid the background checks, are the very ones we should be most concerned about.

To the Senators who voted no on the gun legislation, what are you afraid of, obviously it isn't the American people, because if it was, you would have voted the other way, So you must be scared of the N.R.A, and the Lobbyist that work for them.

What is happening in the US Today?

This is a question that I would really like an answer to, because it seems to me that we are headed right for destruction. I have been living on this earth for 39 going on 40 years, and through my many moons, there has been, and or continue to be a lot of devastation. I have seen or witness some on a personal level, as well as, keeping up to date via the TV, Internet, newspaper(s), or most commonly word of mouth.

From the time I knew and or could understand what was going on in the world everything was fine but, it seems that over the past two decade, things have been getting worst. I mean the bombings, shootings, and hate crimes, I just do not understand what is going wrong here in our United States today. We are suppose to live in what is considered the best country in the world, but for some reason, we seem to have a problem with our own citizens wanting to take us down or demoralize us, and for the life of me I cannot understand WHY.

Just let me give you and example of what I have either seen or been through in the past twenty years.

Back in 1995 when I joined the army, I went to basic training in Fort Sill Oklahoma, and everything seemed to be fine. I did O.S.U.T (One Station Unit Training) which meant that after basic, I spent another three months, learning and understanding my M.O.S (Military Occupational Specialty). While we were training for our M.O.S, the Oklahoma City Bombing happened. In case you do not remember, this is where Timothy McVeigh drove a truck loaded with fertilizer and other items into the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 18, 1995. The blast claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6, and injured more than 680 people.

After basic & M.O.S training, I went to Fort Benning Ga, for jump school, and once I graduated I was sent to my regular duty post in Fort Bragg N.C, where I seen a couple of tragedies. From a Tree line shooting to where "William J. Kreutzer, Jr. is a former United States Army soldier who was convicted of killing one officer and wounding 18 other soldiers when he opened fire on a physical training formation on October 27, 1995 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina." I was standing in this formation when this actually happened.

Then two months latter while I was still stationed in Fort Bragg, three guys decided that they would go out and murder Jackie Burden, 27, and Michael James, 36, two innocent African Americans, mining their own business. I knew one of the people who committed this horrible crime, Malcolm Wright Jr was in my battery, I had worked along side of him alone a couple of times. I am an African American, and the man never once showed hospitality towards me.

Then of of coarse came the tragic 9/11, not to mention all of these school shootings, and the most recent Bombing in Boston. I just do not understand what the world is going on in this world today.

I just do not understand why we continue to turn on ourselves. It comes with out saying that if we continue on this current path of destruction, I wonder if my grand kids will have an opportunity to grow and prosper in these United States or more or less the World.

I don't get it, what the heck is going on that the United States has to be the target of so much aggression? We are suppose to be the protectors of freedom, the model of which all other countries look to, it times of need. But yet they want to attack us?

I do not get it, other countries call on us here in the U.S to help, with any and all aid we can provide, but yet, in our time of need, they turn their backs and leave us to deal with things like this on our own.

I truly hope that the person(s) responsible for this tragedy are found, as well as brought to Justice.

My heart and prayers are with the people of Boston.

Please take a moment to say a prayer for the folks of Boston, as well as all the folks that we hurt and or killed in this tragic and horrific event.

Now if this was committed by some idiot(s) here, then I pity you, because you will be found and brought to justice.

Don't these idiot(s) whether they are foreign or domestic, know that you can take away many things in the U.S., and even thought you may knock us down, we will always get back up!!!!

I am really trying to understand what the problem is? Can you explain it to me Mr. Senator? When you should be worrying about the economy, drugs, jobs, the G.O.P, and your main topic Immigration you feel the need to concern yourself with why Jay-Z & Beyonce's current visit to Cuba?

While I do agree, that Cuba is not a place that I would like to visit, because of its past as well as its current situation, I do not think that it is really any of your or my concern.

Isn't it within our civil rights to do, what we want, when we want, and how we want, as long as we do not break any laws, and or hurt any one? Besides they got permission from our Federal Government to do so.

I did not hear and or see you come out against Denis Rodman when he took a trip to visit that ruthless dictator in North Korea, and from what I have seen and or heard that is far worst than what Jay-Z and Beyonce did, wouldn't you agree? Not to mention Rodman called Kim Jong Un "his friend" , as well as he is planning another trip.

I do not see you asserting your authority over him, so why pick on Jay-Z and Beyonce?

Have you ever been sitting back watching television and a commercial comes on for anything such as, foot care, shoes, weight loss, skin care, etc, and wonder what the world is really going on. I mean that every actor in the commercial either has, pretty feet, great abs, skin is pretty awesome? Come on now really? Is there really any truth in advertising?

The Truth In Advertising law mandated by the federal trade commission, states that, “ When consumers see or hear an advertisement, whether it’s on the Internet, radio or television, or anywhere else, federal law says that ad must be truthful, not misleading, and, when appropriate, backed by scientific evidence”.

Now while some if not all of us thinks that this should be true, I wonder if it really is? It seems to me, that every time you or I see one of these commercials, we are suppose to believe that because there is a pretty girl, handsome man, cute little animal, or a sexy something, that is why we need to purchase and or believe that this products works.

But Come on, for once can the advertisement show someone real, I mean an everyday person!

-Put someone in with bad feet, with ingrown toe nails, dead skin, corns, true toe fungus, let that person do all the talking as well as show me the before pictures, how that person used the product, and from that show me the after, that would tell me your product really works.

-Put someone in like me who is obese, who would like to loose some weight, and start the commercial with me telling folks that I am about to start using your product, and let me make a new commercial, in six months to a year, to show the results.

-Put someone in who truly has oily/dead skin, who's skin is really blemished, someone who doesn't really like going out because of his/her skin. Show this person before, and let him/her remake a commercial one or two months latter, to see the results of your product. I think you all get the picture.

I guess the point I am trying to make is, let us see some real people using your products, not actors, models, singers, athletes, cute fuzzy little animals or any other star for that matter. These folks can afford all the perks, and probably don't even use the products for that matter, the only reason they make the commercial is for the money anyway, not all use it because they believe in it. Come even if I was rich and you gave me a free car , for promoting your line of cars, what do you think I would do, heck that is less of my money I have to spend.

If you want to impress us, then show some real truth in your advertising, and use real everyday people to promote your products!!
