This week has been a super busy one, and I love it. I'm finding out so many cool things about the business at the new job, as well as putting in hard work for school. Some people call me crazy, but

Super busy this week with the start of the new job and full-time school work! :) But I am sticking to my goals this year of being more organized and keeping up with everything..

Now only if I could fit some cleaning into the mix...

Not much going on with the outfit, but I love that it is simple and because of the mix of black with green it and the booties it makes it feel a little edgy. I am in love with anything sheer, and definitely need to go shopping for some new sheer items in nice spring shades.. :)

Friday night we headed to Jake's for a mini date... The food was delish...

I just love this red blouse. Would be perfect for V-day.. ~~too bad I wore it already~~ I paired it with jeans and some black boots, dressy but casual. Those are the perfect outfits for the bar atmosphere! AND of course if you want to stay warm.

Saturday morn, we woke up to run some errands and all of the grass and trees had frost on them. It was so pretty.

It was like a magical white forest near our house. I was too lazy to get up and do an outfit post in it! Next time, I promise!

Later we headed over to my sister's house to celebrate her boyfriend's birthday with all of his family and ours. It was fun and the food was great. I love lasagna..

And of course...

Sunday ended with me cooking dinner and watching the Super Bowl at home. Any of you upset by the results?? And what did you think about Madonna's half-time performance?

Winter Blues...

Good Morning!

As I sit here watching the snow fall I have mixed emotions. It's beautiful outside, it's January in Minnesota, its the coldest this time of year. I should be happy we are only getting another 1-3 inches [today] but the consistent traffic and accident reports along with the occasional school delay make it a difficult pill to swallow.

I've got the winter blues...

This time each year, Minnesotans consider trading places with those living in more favorable parts of the country and world...

I found this cute colorblock dress at the beginning of fall and hadn't had a chance to wear it or show you all. I love it with this long green cardigan and this is my fave scarf! It is so warm, and we are dealing with 10 degrees here in Minnesota so warm is important! :)

Today, I am off to my school to return all those books I talked about buying the other week! I am going to rent them from online and save over $500 soo I am super excited about that! :) I'll be a couple days without materials, but I've worked ahead a bit to keep me on track.

This week I started classes, and although I am super pumped to be getting that much closer to ending my college career, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by it all. Tonight I get to go to my Finance class,

woo -_- hoo. (Can you tell my excitement?)

I really need to get a positive attitude about this,

yesterday I caught myself pounding the keys on my laptop

as I was writing the discussion postings for my online classes.

It may have been the $700 spent on textbooks earlier, but that's just a thought.

And that leads me to rant! I seriously just don't understand how these people can get away with this! Of course I usually rent textbooks because its just so much cheaper, but being the procrastinator that I am trying to change from being, I wait til the last minute to get books and then I charge them to my loans only hoping to maybe grab a used one..

But nah, all brand new texts ranging from $180 - $250.

And then they make you buy the packaged deal, which you don't even need once you get to class! Ahh, all in the sake of business and making a buck!

I go through this every semester, and just need to let it out. Sorry if you feel like I'm yelling at you, I'm really not ~~although my throat is now sore.~~.

2011 was definitely big on print blouses. We saw everything from animal prints to vintage prints. In the fall, flower prints were big on the runways showcasing for what's to come in Spring 2012, {which I cannot wait to purchase!}

Above you are looking at a print I got from my fave place which I have dished about before, Nordstrom's Rack. I can't even remember what I paid for this but I know it wasn't more than $20. I hate rummaging through sale racks but Nordstrom's Rack is the exception to the rule! :) Paired with a fitted pair of skinny jeans and a nice heel pull the fit together.

Now onto some other news, a little history -
I have been working on and off throughout the past couple years. Have been going to school full-time and mainly working in customer service call centers, which I haven't really enjoyed. I have been doing marketing promotions part-time but that just wasn't helping us to survive!

I know that God had something better for me, but sometimes I would allow myself to doubt and get depressed about my situation. So when different opportunities would arise and I would not get the position it would get me down for the moment, but I had to keep hoping and believing everything would work out for me.

I found guidance and hope in Jesus through the encouragement of a new blogger friend, Erin, at Captivated By the Beauty of Grace. I was forgetting that I needed Him to make it, and needed to put my focus on Him!

Yesterday, I was offered a position as a Merchandise Coordinator for a great company in the area! I will be working under the buyers for the company within apparel, shoes, watches, jewelry, or electronics. After training I will be assigned to a department. I am super pumped, I start at the beginning of February and have been asking God to help me find my way.

He spoke to me and told me to find the job that I wanted and go for it. He has been giving me guidance through new blogging friends as well! I know it was through Him that this was possible for me. So I have been overfilled with joy, thanking Jesus all along the way! What a great way to start the week!

This actually needs a bit of a story behind it. No, seriously. I was determined. I told you all how I got a VS Giftcard for Christmas. So as soon I saw the sale had begun, I went. I was there for over 2 hours. I tried on every bra in the building. NO LUCK. I got resized, as they say you are supposed to do that every 6 months. I tried on more bras, NO LUCK. I finally gave up after finding one that worked. I found a cute top from PINK and was super happy that their gift sets were all 50%. That was my experience. I'm not as mad because I didn't spend much especially due to the giftcard, but still!

I have been super lazy after the holidays and I am finally getting around to doing an outfit post this week! What I love about this top is that I can also pair it with a cute pair of jeans and some high boots for a different look. I also L O V E the fact that it is sheer. Sheer makes it more versatile, you can add a different color tank under it to add some depth or just a black bra top as I am wearing it above.

For NYE 2012, I decided to have a little shindig at my house. It was fun and glad I got to bring in the New Year with my family and friends.

Sunday Funday we all woke and had breakfast and watched football. Just laying around with my girlfriends in PJ's and talking about everything we could possibly think about was relaxing.

After everyone left yesterday afternoon, me and the Mr. were able to get back to the calm that we are used to. We enjoyed the last few hours we could just hanging with each other before work.

Hi! Hope everyone's weekend was great! I had a blast, hanging out with my family and got a few gifts! The secret santa was a success! I had my nephew and he's a huge NY Giants fan, so it was pretty easy for me to pick out his gift! Hey there, How goes it?

Last week my girlfriend invited me to a Christmas Party for her job. I decided to pull out a dress that was actually gifted to me last year by another girlfriend of mine. She bought it from ASOS, which was my favorite store last year! It didn't fit her, so thank God for friends, eh!! :)

If the shoe fits...

The party was a lot of fun, we ate great, had a few bevs... and at one point 90% of the people at the party were on the dance floor. That was the highlight of my night! Needless to say it was a very fun night! It definitely got me in the Christmas spirit!

WHO'S EXCITED FOR THIS WEEKEND!!??

This weekend I will be heading to my parents house, which is about 15 minutes from me. We are doing a secret santa, which we started a couple years ago. One for the adults and one for the kids. It takes the pressure off of having to buy lots of gifts, or go broke for Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I like giving gifts, especially the thoughtful ones that take a little effort. But, at one point everyone was getting so stressed trying to get everything, and we decided to make it more focused on God and family versus material things. However, ~~my mom~~ people still bend the rules and get gifts for others!

We don't do a big dinner for Christmas Eve, usually that's done on Christmas Day. For Christmas Eve, we are going to be having walking tacos! And I am super excited because I love tacos and adding Doritos to them just makes them even better! If you don't know what walking tacos are, they are just when you put all the fixings of a taco (meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, taco sauce, sour cream etc) in a personal size bag of tortilla chips, fritos, etc. It just makes it easier and it mixes it all up for you. It is delish!

last night I had a girl's night with my faves. We made dinner and talked about our goals for 2012.

Roasted chicken with veggies, red potatoes, macaroni & cheese and side salad.

And WINE of course! It wouldn't be a ladies' night without it!

A Familiar Face

Hola Friends!!

Hope your week is going absolutely fabulous! We are a few steps closer to the Christmas weekend! :) WOo HoO!

Question: Have you ever had someone randomly shout out someone else's name and point to you?

I'm sure this has happened to quite a few people. You see my name is "Jena" (pronounced Gina). But most of my life people have called my "Jenna", so I'm used to them getting it wrong. -__-

Question: Have you ever been approached by a stranger and told that you look very familiar?

You're lucky if you said no. I almost always get approached by random people and they say I look super familiar. It's almost like they have met me before. As I deny profusely, they insist that we know each other. I must just have a familiar face.

I would never wish to be anyone else but myself, yet overtime, people would approach me and say I looked like Rudy from the Cosby Show. People would shout out Rudy as I walked down the street when out with my girlfriends. Actually, 70% of my co-workers at my last job thought it was cute to call me this. -__- . Like everyday. -__- . So you can see how this can get annoying at some point. However, she is gorg, so although sometimes I don't see it, I run with it.

So, this post is dedicated to the fab Keshia Knight Pulliam, known most famously for her role as the young Rudy Huxtable in the Cosby Show & more recently as Miranda from her role on TBS's House of Payne. This petite beauty was the youngest actress to ever be nominated for an Emmy, and has won multiple NAACP awards for her professional work! She's thebomb.com.

As often as I get Keshia, I get Aisha Tyler. You may recognize her from a few places. First, she's a comedian. Hosted Talk Soup, and the reality dating show, The Fifth Wheel (I admit, I loved this show). You may also recognize her as Ross's girlfriend from the hit show, "Friends" in some of the last seasons. Anywho, she's funny and stunning!

Hello to all new and seasoned followers! :) It is officially the last Monday before Christmas, and second to last full week of the year! Have you gotten all of your Xmas shopping out of the way? Neither have I.

Anywho, I am super pumped to spend time with my family and start the New Year and get down some New Year's Resolutions, that I hopefully stick with. :(

So, How many of you are good at breaking New Year's Resolutions?

*Blushes* *Raises hand slowly*

Like most, I say I am going to stick with it in January, and come about February 1st, I have completely forgotten what I was going to be changing. So I am asking my fellow readers for tips to stick to resolutions. What helps you follow through?

In other news, this weekend I had my first Ugly Sweater Party.. It was for all my lovely ladies and was a lot of fun as you can tell by the silly photo below.

Overall, it was a great night. A few of us a little slumber parrrtyyy! :)

Happy Thursday, Loves!

First, I want to say thanks for all the lovely comments. I do read each every one and try to comment or follow back each of you! I will try my best to entertain your eyes, and inspire your minds.

ANYWHO, (Enough, with my ramblings..)

So, this morn I went searching in my closet, and look what I found:

So the story on this: I bought this sheer leopard dress online at gojane.com awhile back and was absolutely in love with it from the moment I put it on. But, the problem arose when I had absolutely nowhere to wear it. Now, I love getting all dressed up and decked out for shindigs, but here in MN, when it gets cold.. we stay inside. I mean, sure we go to work, we go to school, maybe hit the grocery store, and then its home (next to the fireplace) for the rest of the night.

However, it has been pretty warm here. I mean yesterday it was 39 degrees (don't laugh). That's pretty good for MN in December. But, back to the dress. .. I'm super happy that its the holidays because that means there is going to be a lot more going on, and more festivities to get all 'glammed' up for.

On the other hand, I generally stick to all things sparkly during the holidays, I just feel so festive that way. I am going to a holiday party this weekend, and I am sure I will probably end up wearing something with a bit more jazz.

IDK, What do you guys think, could this be worn to a holiday bash, or should I go more glitzy and glam!?
