Cappuccino RM7.90

A cappuccino, is an Italian coffee drink which is traditionally prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed-milk foam. The name comes from the Capuchin friars, referring to the colour of their habits.

A very nice looking cappuccino latte art. I love drinking coffee with nice art! Most of the time I’m amazed by the coffee art!

Caramel Cappuccino RM9.50

Caramel Cappuccino is just a flavored latte added with a beige to dark-brown confectionery product made by heating any of a variety of sugars.

You will like Caramel Cappuccino if you preferred a little sweet taste coffee!

Caramel Latte RM9.50

A latte is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. The term as used in English is a shortened form of the Italian caffè latte or caffellatte (pronounced [ˌkaffelˈlatte]), which means “milk coffee”.

You will like Caramel Latte if you preferred a little sweet taste latte!

Flat white RM7.90

Love this Flat White – it has a smooth and velvety texture.

A flat white is a coffee beverage developed in Australia and New Zealand in the 1980s. It is prepared by pouring microfoam (steamed milk from the bottom of a pitcher) over a single or double shot of ristretto espresso. It is similar to the latte and the café au lait although smaller in volume, having a higher proportion of coffee to milk, and more velvety in consistency.

Piccolo Latte RM6.90

Piccolo Latte is a ristretto shot (15 – 20 ml) topped with warm, silky milk served in a 100 ml glass demitasse (small latte glass).

Iced Mocha RM10.50

A caffè mocha or café mocha is a variant of a caffè latte, inspired by the Turin Coffee beverage Bicerin. Like a caffè latte, it is based on espresso and hot milk, but with added chocolate, typically in the form of sweet cocoa powder, although many varieties use chocolate syrup. Mochas can contain dark or milk chocolate.

Ristretto RM5.50

Caffeine overdose with this cup of ristretto.

Ristretto is a very “short” shot of espresso coffee. Originally this meant pulling a hand press faster than usual using the same amount of water as a regular shot of espresso. Since the water came in contact with the grinds for a much shorter time the caffeine is extracted in reduced ratio to the flavorful coffee oils.

The resultant shot could be described as bolder, fuller, with more body and less bitterness. All of these flavors are usually attributed to espresso in general, but are more pronounced in ristretto. Today, with the hand press out of favor and modern automated machines generally less controllable, ristretto usually just means less water; a double espresso shot is typically around 60 ml (2 fl oz), while a double ristretto is typically 45 ml (1–1.5 fl oz).

This restaurant was awarded as Malaysian’s Best Restaurant 2004!

Verdict: We really like The Wok’s cozy atmosphere as it makes you feel right at home. The food quality is good, we will definitely return to try other dishes or whenever there’s a mood for Nyonya food.

If you ask any Subang residents, they would definitely recommend this famous stall at SS15 for Indian Rojak. I was told that they used to sell their Rojak from their truck parked by the roadside before operating at the current stalls provided by MPSJ.

We were there at 2 pm and there was already a long queue waiting for their Rojak despite having to stand under the hot sun. There’s no tables or chairs for you to sit and enjoy your plate of Rojak but you can opt to either sit or stand under the big tree.

You just have to place your order by telling him what you want and he’ll cut and chop the ingredients accordingly.

There are only 4 varieties to choose from for the Rojak and the price varies according to the ingredients. A plate of Rojak Kosong is only RM3.50. You can add ingredients like hard boiled egg (RM0.50) or sotong (RM0.50) to go with your Rojak.

Egg and Sotong Indian Rojak ~ RM4.50

The Rojak mix consists of fried dough, coconut fritters, tofu, crispy cucur udang (prawn fritters), shredded cucumbers, shredded turnips, half boiled egg and sotong.

The crunch from the fried goodies and the spicy peanut sauce blend and compliment well. Do you know that Rojak is also a type of salad with peanut sauce as dressing?

Cendol is the best match with Rojak!

Verdict: While the Rojak is undoubtedly crunchy, sweet, nutty and spicy but it’s not the best Rojak I had. I may return if I happen to be around SS15 and craving for Rojak but wouldn’t purposely come here for this as there are many other good Rojak stalls like the one in Section 17, PJ and Damansara Uptown in front of Brother Peter’s Car Accessories Shop.

By now, I’m sure everyone have heard of the famous Macau Tai Lei Loi Kei pork chop bun 澳门大利来猪扒包 at Largo Gov. Tamagnini Barbosa, Vila de Taipa, Macau.

It’s one of the must-have food when you travel to Macau. From what I heard from friends, the queue is super long and their buns are usually sold-out within 2-3 hours.

It’s no longer necessary to fly to Macau to taste the Pork Chop Bun as you can now have it in Malaysia. With the opening of their first Malaysia outlet in Lot10 few weeks ago, Tai Lei Loi Kei opened its second outlet in IOI Boulevard, Puchong on Tuesday, 4th June 2013.

<img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/944602_541363175928724_1955285433_n.jpg" alt="This Tai Lei Loi Kei 澳门大利来猪扒包 outlet is just next to Tong Pak Fu 糖百府 (dessert shop), same row as PappaRich and is located opposite IOI Mall, Puchong.” />

The interior of this outlet is a fine cross between fast food and casual dining outlet. Just like any fast food outlet, it’s self-service where you have to place your order at the counter in front. You will then have to wait for your number before collecting your orders at the next counter.

Aside from their famous Signature Pork Chop Bun, there are varieties on the menu like Bouncing Noodles with Pork Chop/Chicken Wings, Macau Curry Fish Balls, Pork Chop Rice, Polo Bun Pork Chop Bun and etc.

Signature Pork Chop Bun (豬扒包) & Macau Milk Tea RM13.90

This is a set meal which comes with a drink (soft drink, coffee or milk tea). I ordered a hot Milk Tea but the tea served wasn’t hot, barely room temperature. I have yet to try the original Macau Pork Chop Bun so I can’t judge which one is better.

The pork chop is well marinated – very flavorful, has a tender-chewy texture and juicy. However, the bun was a little let down- it’s hard and dry. Overall, I would say it taste good and wouldn’t mind having it again.

Bouncing Noodles with Chicken Wings RM9.30

The noodles were excellent; it was pleasantly springy and bouncy! The chicken wings are marinated in sweet and flavorful sauce. Such a delicious meal!

Sawdust Cake Dessert (澳门木槺蛋糕)

(RM3.50 if you add on with set meal) (RM5.50 for ala-carte)

This dessert, which originates from Macau, is also known as “Serradura”. This is actually a layered chilled dessert made up of a sweetened, vanilla flavored whipped cream and crushed Marie biscuits.

The creamy layer at the bottom is a perfect match with the slightly rough biscuits on top. This dessert is creamy with an airy and soft texture. Don’t know why, it somehow reminds me of Tiramisu – both uses different ingredients but the same “layered” concept.

Do you feel like having a pork chop bun for lunch or dinner already? Do drop by and try the delicious Pork Chop Bun yourself! As I’m writing this, I feel like having another pork chop bun myself! “Salivating” lolz

Abduction

Do you know that it’s a PETRONAS commercial? It’s now finally revealed! Petronas released their latest commercial in collaboration with Mercedes-AMG featuring a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-powered AMG fuelled by Petronas Syntium 7000.

The Ride

There’s a janitor while carrying out his cleaning duty at a MERCEDES AMG-PETRONAS lab, his attention was drawn to a sleek new AMG machine and the lubricant powering it.

He’s curious of the machine and wanted to max out the performance of PETRONAS SYNTIUM 7000 as it’s produced by so many professionals running day in and day out researches.

He sneaked in the AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-powered car out for a ride to satisfy his curiosity. It was indeed an awesome driving experience with the peak top notch performance. He’s shaken with the driving experience that he experienced with the AMG machine powered by PETRONAS SYNTIUM 7000. It’s an experience that word could not describe.

The main focus is that the alien in him can’t handle the intensity too and do not want to lose out, he quickly gets beamed back to the mothership, grabbing a bottle of PETRONAS SYNTIUM with him. Maybe he wanted to reproduce the same lubricant for his planet and share with the rest of the aliens?

The Petronas technology is so advanced with intensive R&D, even other planets are dying to try out the performance that the lubricant able to outreach. So what say you? Are you excited about what PETRONAS SYNTIUM could do to your car? Can’t wait to try it out?

The wife and I was food hunting in Subang SS15 when I stumbled across this Hot Star Large Fried Chicken (豪大大雞排) signage. Without thinking twice, I walked in wanting to try their fried chicken since I did not get to try the original one at Taipei Shilin Night Market when I visited Taiwan last year.

This Hot Star outlet occupies a corner lot, same row as Starbucks and Snowflake (right below Chatime and opposite the famous Asia Cafe). It’s not easy to find parking space especially on weekdays.

Aside from their famous large fried chicken, they have other varieties like chicken bites, tempura, sweet and sour plum potato, crispy fries and crunchy needle mushroom.

There are four different level of spiciness that you can choose from for the fried chicken. I choose medium spicy. What’s your level?

They have both indoor and outdoor dining area which offers plenty of seating so that you can enjoy your fried chicken and relax. We find the indoor dining area rather stuffy, smokey and not well ventilated. It’s better to sit outside or take away like what we did.

The chicken is freshly fried upon order. The only downside is you have to wait for 5-10 minutes.

Mr. Yap’s artworks are based on nature, as he adores the environment. Often he paints landscapes and things close to him, giving them poetic sentiments and unique characteristics.

In one of his speech, he says, “I paint based on my ability, techniques and understanding of things. I create works with a sincere heart and an artist’s passion. I maintain a happy attitude and try to paint things exhibiting health and happiness.” The simplicity of his paintings shows limitless life force and feelings.

Find the inner artist in you and check out this art exhibition at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM. The exhibit will be running for two weeks. With the school holidays around, it’s an excellent opportunity to bring your children to visit this exhibition. Do recommend this to your friends and relatives too.

When it comes to a nice and decent place for Penang hawker food in PJ area, O & S Coffee Shop which is located at the neighborhood of Paramount Garden win hands down.

This restaurant occupies a corner lot and is located opposite the Caltex petrol station. There are a number of stalls selling Penang famous food such as Prawn Mee (Har Mee), Assam Laksa, Curry Laksa, Char Koay Teow and Har Gou Chee Cheong Fun.

We were there for lunch on a weekend and the restaurant was amazingly packed. With Lady Luck on our side, we managed to get a table. Despite the crowds, we had our foods in minutes. I guess they had accustomed to serving large crowds daily.

Assam Laksa

This is AWESOME! Probably the best Asam Laksa in PJ, close to what we had in Penang! Best part is they are served with generous chunks of mackerel, thinly sliced cucumbers, onions, fresh mint leaves, pineapple, red chili and prawn paste.

The noodles’ texture were good and the soup was a combination of sour and spicy – aromatic and full with flavor. Are you drooling yet?

Curry Laksa

This is equally awesome as the Asam Laksa! It’s from the same stall and I heard that the stall owner is a Penang Lang! That’s explained the good Asam Laksa & Curry Laksa! They are very generous in the ingredients, look at the amount of chicken in the Curry Laksa! If you gonna order this, try to ask for “Wat Kai” instead of the chicken slides as it’s really smooth la the chicken! Lolz.

Prawn Mee (Har Mee)

The soup was superbly sweet and aromatic that every mouthful was a delight. The chili paste provided add some kick to the soup. We left an almost emptied bowl behind. We felt extremely thirsty afterwards, we guess it must due to the MSG (Ajinomoto) content in the soup that makes the soup sweet.

Char Koay Teow

I think that the Char Koay Teow standard have dropped compared to last time. Now, the plate of char koay teow taste kinda bland and lacks ‘wok hei’.

Har Gou Chee Cheong Fun

This is really the best Har Gou Chee Cheong Fun I can find in town! If you are craving for Har Gou Chee Cheong Fun, you will never regret for this! It’s super yummy. It’s the best combination of Har Gou + Chee Cheong Fun + sesame!

Will be back for the Assam Laksa, Curry Laksa & Har Gou Chee Cheong Fun as that’s still the best I had in PJ thus far. Hopefully, the quality of the Assam Laksa remains the same *fingers crossed*

Som Tam

This is their signature green papaya salad is a must-try. Dressed in an exclusive sauce that combines just-the-right-amount of sweetness, sourness, saltiness and spiciness and is topped with an abundance of peanut crumbs. The cripsy pork skin does wonders to enhance the fragance of this appetizer.

Som Tam Nua offers both sticky and normal steamed rice. We opted for steamed rice. The fragrant rice is high grade Thai jasmine rice, and is a perfect match with the rest of the dishes.
