Don’t you just love the first sunshine after a long winter – I do. And even though it’s still ice on the Copenhagen lakes, the sunshine has made today really energetic – and it’s the sunshine and not the cups of coffee and exciting meet up that did it…….more on that later
I hope the weekend will be just as nice – walks in the sunshine, setting up the baby’s new bed and knitting more on my yellow socks (I’ve taken pictures that I’ll post soon) Have a great weekend.
PS Since it’s leap year this year today the 24th February is it’s the day women are allowed to propose – it’s an old Roman tradition – so if you are a man and say ‘no’ today you have to give 12 pairs of silk gloves.

Do you want to know one of the highlights of my day? It’s popping by local pop coffee place Coffee Collective and grab a cup of brilliant cappuccino to accompany on my walk around the grave yard with the pram (It’s an old grave yard often used as a park and H C Andersen is buried there).
It’s truly brilliant coffee, I so recommend it. They actually roast their own beans!

My little man. 20 weeks already. It feels like you arrived yesterday and at the same time it is like you’ve been here with me forever.

And you move now so much. I have to start baby proofing to apartment soon. You rotate on your belly and you just turned from belly to you back. You love your dear giraffe Sophie so much it’s like an addiction. You wolf down carrot mash and rice porridge, and get it all over like little babies do. You giggle, smile and talk so much. I just love your chubby cheeks and those sweet chubby feet – I just want to kiss you all over.

Today it’s Pancake Tuesday also known as Fat Tuesday (translated from Norwegian) basically it’s the last day before Lent so traditionally people eat things they can’t eat during Lent like sugar, white flour and eggs = pancakes or here in Scandinavia it’s creamed filled buns. I love any excuse to stuff my face with something nice so I’m making pancakes today. I like to make mine a tad healthy.

My pancake recipe (crepe version)

2 eggs
350 g flour – i mix white flour with graham flour
600 ml milk
1 table spoon butter
pinch of salt

mix the eggs, add half of milk, salt and the flour
mix to it’s no lumps
add the rest of the milk & the melted butter – mix
let it set for 30 minutes

I like serving them with a squirt of lemon and sugar (British style) or with blueberry jam like in my childhood

Good morning, how are you today? Springtime has started here in Copenhagen. Yesterday we walked in the local park and saw springtime flowers and even heard some bird song!

But it still a bit cold so I do hope the winner of my give away-gift can used a bit this side of the summer. And with no more blah blah blah here is the winner:

Monday has started to be my favorite day. It’s the day that I meet up with 2-4 other mums and we knit. Well knit a stitch or two while the babies play, get a couple of rounds in while the baby is on our laps or just sit with our cups of coffee relaxing while the baby sleeps. It’s so nice to share these couple of hours with other mums every week. And talk about mum things in between the knitting. Last time I simply ran around with a fancy camera that I’ve borrowed. PS! I’m so happy that my knitting enthusiasm is contagious.

Today it’s the start of Lent aka Fastelavn – so we celebrate – in my family with freshly cleaned windows (my super nice husbands initiative), the world championship in snowboard on the TV, traditional creamed filled buns and this year I’ve decorated some branches (that’s very traditional).
What do you think? It’s basically some left over yarn, I like it – nice and colorful compered to the gray weather outside and the fact that the nice snow has been washed away.
What do you think of my pictures? I have been borrowing a good camera the past week and I’m so happy with the better photos as it’s so difficult to get good pictures in this dark season….plan to buy a better one too…is getting addicted to taking better photos…anyway hope you’re all having a nice Lent Sunday.

(and today it is 1 years since the doctor told me I was pregnant)

My mornings are usually like this: The baby gets his early morning bottle around 6 then all tree of us snooze in the big bed with the baby lying between us with his own little duvet – stretching out his tiny arms (often hitting me in the possess). Around 7:30-8 we get up – my husband goes off to work and the baby and I get dressed (wool underneath) – goes into the living room and greet the cat. Then it’s porridge time – mine is usually Happy belly porridge by Aurion (Den glade maves grød) and the baby is currently eating rice porridge but sometimes I pack the baby in his pram and trot over to the new hip porridge place Grød – across the Nørrebro park, for my breakfast.(the baby gets a bottle and his porridge later in the day)
So if you’re like me – love porridge and is not scared of my testing new things, like rice porridge with green tarragon-sugar and hazelnuts or oatmeal with caramel and apples, I recommend you popping in to Grød next time you’re in my area.

I’ve started knitting socks! I’m so happy to find a recipe of socks knitted from the toe and up – can’t wait to have a pair of nice yellow warm socks – but first I need to finish the new pair of baby pants.
