Luisa & Jay | Wedding

Weddings are always great, but when you get to spend the day photographing a wedding of old friends its even better. I was absolutely made up when Jay booked his wedding, and asked for me. Another late season wedding, which turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year, with brilliant sunshine.

Bride prep was at the Vincent hotel, followed by a ceremony at St Maries Church, and a reception at West Tower. Its always a great venue when everyone is sat out on the patio!

Ann Marie & Jonathon | Wedding

Wow, the problem with being busy is sometimes you forget the things that aren’t a top priority, like keeping your blog up to date!! I’ve just realised that I’ve not added a couple of weddings from before Christmas.

I covered Ann Marie & Jonathons wedding with Mal from the ImageRoom, and had a lovely day. With a great ceremony in St Josephs in Crosby, followed by a reception in the Tithe Barn, at Meols Hall the day was fantastic. What made it better was great weather, it always seems to be the way that late season weddings have lovely days, we even managed to nip down to Crosby Marina and take some photos on the beach!

Kay & Radley Haynes

I had great joy the other weekend in taking a few candids and formals for good friends of mine, Kay & Radley. I normally don’t take on friends weddings, as I generally prefer to enjoy them as a guest rather than be working, however as Kay & Radley were officially married over in Greece, they asked if I would take the photos at the blessing in the UK.

It was an absolutely beautiful day, with great weather. The blessing was held in a lovely church in Waterloo, Liverpool followed by a reception at the TreeTops hotel in Southport.

James Ian Murphy

OMG!! Where does the time go ! It’s a phrase that you often hear but the last couple of months have simply flown by at ImageStudio! With several studio shoots, external shoots and also a bit of product photography its been a manic start to the summer.

Let me introduce James to you all, he’s the pride and joy of two of my best friends on the planet, and I managed to drag them into the Studio to have some shots done. James absolutely loved the camera as well as the studio flash and had a great time, I’m hoping to see more of him in the future.

Food Photography, I’ll have a go!!

Now most photographers know that Food photography is a specialist area. Its not just the photography its all the setup, getting the colours correct etc.. So when friends at Greens Cafe & Bistro in Grasmere asked me to take some photos of their beautiful food for future cook books and also advertisement, I decided I would have a go and see what the pictures looked like?

Now I’m leaving myself wide open to criticism on this one, I specialise in taking photos of people at weddings, special occasions, fashion etc and here I am talking to a chocolate brownie asking it to smile!!!

I’ve attached some images for you to see, they are all shot in full manual with a SB900 flash setup wirelessly behind a lastolite soft box (Which is fast becoming my weapon of choice for a lot of shots!!)

Emma & Tim | Engagement Shoot

Its a great time when you meet clients when they’ve just got engaged. Tim and Emma wanted a set of photos just after he had popped the question, so we went out for a walk one sunday morning, and with very little help managed to get some great shots.

I love engagement shoots, nice and informal at a couple of locations, they are loads of fun, and as you can see the results are fantastic.

Louise & Shaun | Wedding

At the end of last year I shot a great wedding up in Scotland at Comlongon Castle just over the border. After all the snowfall that we had I was driving up on the morning of the wedding, raring for my first full snowy wedding, only to find that once I got close there was no snow to be seen, none, nada, nothing, it was a beautiful day!

Louise and Shaun were lovely to work with, very relaxed, wanting a fun day for all their family and friends. They had a great ceremony in the main room, followed by a drinks reception and meal, and then later on they had organised a ‘Celtic Hand Tying’ which I have to say was a first for me. It was absolutely fantastic, taken with lots of humor and was a brilliant way to get everyone involved in their day.

Oops I have a Blog!!

OMG I have a blog!! Been that busy at the start of the year that I haven’t done much updating. I promise promise promise I will add some new photos asap!

That said I’ve designed a new brochure, sorted price lists and handling lots of enquiries so it’s not all bad. I’m also out doing engagement shoots which I just love , so expect some great photos soon!!

Last Minute Studio Shoot

Christmas tends to be one of the busiest times, along with summer. Summer is generally busy due to weddings, and Christmas tends to get hectic in the Studio, people wanting portrait shoots, for Christmas presents, and 2010 was no different. At the end of November I take a call from Sue Johnson who has been recommended me, to see if I can fit her family in for a pre Christmas session, with a view to some presents for Grand Parents.

The shoot goes fantastic, the children have loads of fun, we review a set of images and make some selections, and then what happens!

It Snows!! And when I say it snows, it really snowed.

My printers in Glasgow, are having trouble with staff getting to work, the postal service is also having loads of trouble due to the weather, and my last order for Christmas hasn’t appeared. Luckily, my printers turned the products round super quick, giving lots of time for ‘next day’ or ‘next week’ delivery service to arrive. Just in the nick of time the canvasses arrive, and I can take them to the Johnson family, 2 days before Christmas!

It was all worth it though, as I’ve had an email to say the Grand Parents love the pictures, and thats what counts!

Esther & Richard | Wedding

Wow totally manic still and nearly forgot the blog!! I shot an absolutely lovely wedding down in Buckinghamshire a couple of weeks back, and the ceremony actually took place in a train station, nope not whilst trains where travelling, this was actually the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre where they have lots of trains and historic memorabilia that just made the wedding totally wonderful.

Richard and Esther were great clients and didn’t mind me dragging them through fields afterwards for some lovely couple shots. For a late summer wedding, the weather was great too. With the trains, great weather, lovely venue it made for a fantastic day.
