I’ve been just dying to get this wedding posted. I can’t believe how busy I’ve been the past few weeks with all different kinds of sessions. I’m really so far behind on blogging!

But let me get back to the main event. Amber and Joel’s wedding was absolutely a stunning affair. They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful and ultra modern Sofitel Hotel, which I always enjoy shooting at. If you’ve never been there, check out the clean lines and sophisticated decor. Such a great place for a wedding with style!

Amber’s dress was so luxurious, and all the little details, like her bracelet and belt, just added the right touch. I especially loved her veil! And the flowers were just amazing and lush. Look at how they pop against the black bridesmaids dresses!

On top of all of this we went to some of my favorite locations in the city. We just had the perfect day and I had the same problem that I’ve had all year. How do I narrow down my favorites for the blog?!

Baby Bella : 3 Months Old

I was so happy when Amber (my bride from Sunday’s wedding) contacted me and wanted to surprise her sister, Alexis, with a baby photo session. So this past Friday it was my honor to photograph the most adorable baby girl, baby Bella. This little doll could really be the next Gerber model! And at only three months old she was full of toothless smiles. There were so many shots that I want to share with you all, but here are just a few of my favorites.

Congrats to Alexis and John for having such an adorable daughter!

The Knot’s Chicago Market Party

We were honored to photograph this years annual Chicago Market Party hosted by The Knot.

What a fantastic event! Big City Bride really outdid themselves coordinating the entire evening, and the venue was just gorgeous. It was great to see so many friends and to make new ones too!

If you’ve never been to Salvage One, you really need to check it out. It’s such a chic space to have a wedding reception and the courtyard was amazing for a unique outdoor ceremony.

Great fun was had by some of the leading vendors in Chicago’s bridal industry.

Vintage Fashion Shoot : Chicago

This shoot was so much fun! I just had the best time working with some of the most fabulous models and a few of my favorite lady photographer friends. These are just a few of my favorite sneak peeks. I know what you are thinking, these are a few? Well it’s hard to narrow this kind of thing down. So hope you like! We had fun playing with beauty dishes and ring lights, but still I have to say that I prefer good old fashioned natural light any day. Let me know what you think when you have a chance!

Kai is ten months old!

First off, I have to say what amazing couples we’ve had this year. And Leslie and Jim were such peaches to work with. Not only are they the sweetest couple ever, they are also completely adorable.

At one point we were taking some portraits of the two of them downtown and a passerby asked us what magazine we were shooting for! Guess it’s pretty hard to believe that two people could look any better on their wedding day.

And check out the amazing flowers by Scarlet Petal. Once again, they never cease to amaze me!

The ceremony was in one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen in the city with the reception at the lovely ballroom at the School of the Art Institute. So Beautiful, right down to the last detail!

While the couple lounge on the beach at Turks & Caicos, I thought it would be a nice surprise to post some sneak peeks for them to enjoy. Here are just a few of my favorites!

linda + allen : after session : in the rain!

Linda and Allen had their beautiful wedding at the 4th Presbyterian Church with a reception at the Drake Hotel back in April . We didn’t photograph their wedding, and well, they felt their was something missing from their photos.

Of course, I knew just what to do to fix that! So the couple got all dressed up again, and Linda got her hair and makeup done, and we went back to the Drake where they had their reception, and all around town to take some gorgeous fashion portraits of the two of them. With one catch. It rained!

Well rain doesn’t stop me. In fact, I love the mood and ambiance it created in their pictures. And how amazing are Linda and Allen for getting completely soaked with me?

meet baby callan

Callan is only ten days old today and weighing in at just six pounds of adorableness! I was so excited to meet him and his mom and dad. We had a great time with him in the studio and just look at the beautiful sneak peeks from today’s session! I wish I could sleep like that

amber + joel’s e-session

Amber + joel wanted to do their e-session near their home in Wicker Park. We really thought it would be fun to do some cool shots by the El and in the park. On the way to their place I saw this amazing spot underneath the El tracks. I just knew that it would be a stunning backdrop to their shots!

They are such a fun couple and so open to my crazy ideas. Just look how great their pictures turned out! I’m really looking forward to their wedding next month!!
