Dr. Candace Castillo Wright

Dr Candace Castillo Wright, a Canadian native, will join the practice group in March 2012. She has over 8 years of experience in orthodontics and has graduated from the University of Toronto- Toronto with a Canada  Bachelor of Science in Human Biology.

She attended the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C.  and graduated in 2001 with her  DDS.  Her orthodontic training was completed there as well earning her a Certificate in Orthodontics in 2003.

During her schooling she she earned the Academy of General Dentistry’s Senior Student Award, was on the Dean’s List for four years “high academic achievement” and was awarded the Louise C. Ball Scholarship for outstanding postgraduate orthodontic work.

She is a certified Invisalign provider, belongs to the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics

Her volunteer work has been ranged from Pediatric Ward in Trinidad and the Toronto “Out in the Cold” outreach program to Washington, D.C.’s Colgate’s Inner City Health Program and health dental screenings for families.

Dr. Wright is married to Dr Christopher Wright, with two children Dean and Christina. The Canadian born is a world traveler, loves to reading, playing Volleyball ,weight training, cooking and spending time with the kids.

Dr Wright will be available at the Dental Professionals of Vinings and Zoom Lilburn.

Soldiers across the globe might not be home for Christmas this year, but Christmas will come to them. Imagix Dental of Suwannee is partnering with Give2TheTroops (G2TT) and Hugs for Soldiers to make sure soldiers overseas will be getting the most needed items on their Christmas lists. Imagix Dental Office manager Lindy Rodriguez said patients and non-patients can drop off items in the boxes provided in the Imagix office lobby from October 25^th through December 1^st.

“We really want everyone who is serving our country to know they are thought about over here,” Rodriguez said. “We have a lot of patients who at least know someone over there, so we want to try and reach out as much as possible to help the community.”

Members of the Suwannee community are encouraged to bring items from the approved G2TT /Hugs for soldiers lists to the Imagix Dental of Suwannee office at 350 Town Center Avenue, Suite 301 during office hours. Imagix is open Monday from 9am – 5pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 8am – 5pm and Friday from 7am – 2pm. Some of the suggested items are toiletries, handwritten cards, letters, inspirational books, stationary, board games, baseball hats, instant soup, popcorn, granola, beef jerky and sunscreen. Her orthodontic training was completed at LSU School of Dentistry in 1998.

She is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity for attaining the highest academic standing during dental school.

Dr. Conti is also passionate about helping children. She enthusiastically supports: Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Noah’s Ark, World Vision and other charities.

Callie, a brave 13 year old entering Pinckneyville Middle School this August, has accepted the challenge of being interviewed, photographed and video taped throughout her entire 20 month treatment; which began in May during her initial consult at Imagix.

At her first appointment, Orthodontist Dr. Wes Fleming charted Callie’s previous dental progress to provide a careful evaluation for her specific needs.  Dr. Fleming found that Callie had a mild overbite, a few permanent teeth that still had not descended, as well as a few teeth that didn’t come in straight. Dr. Fleming also explained that there were a few teeth that needed fillings adjusted before the braces could be put on. Imagix Dental took care of all the pre-orthodontic care and Callie was ready to go.

Two weeks later, her braces were placed. Callie brought friend Mary Grace Tipton, who also wears braces put on at Imagix Dental, for support. Mary Grace encouraged Callie that having braces put on would make her teeth look great and that Imagix would make the experience great for her.

As Callie came out of the office, with her new blue braces, her excitement was evident, it was definitely a colorful smile.

Even though it was only a short appointment, the effects on her smile will last Callie’s entire life. Her braces and doctors at Imagix are sure to make her smile picture perfect.

Callie and Imagix Dental hope to show others during the next 20 months that there is nothing to fear about getting braces. It’s almost a rite of passage that has gotten easier over the years.
