On the 3rd of March (Kungsbacka, Halland) we are delighted to announce that ProFly Sportfiske och Vildmark opens the doors to its new store between 09.00-15.00.

Martin Lindström and Jon Hanson, both with many years experience and education within the sportfishing business, manage the store.

The opening event will have full focus on flyfishing. During the day, various demonstrations will be held by brands carried (Imago, Vision, Eikre Fly), casting shows by Mikael Blomberg as well as wellknown flytiers such as Johan Klingberg, Niklaus Bauer and Frank Hjortberg.

A fish dam for our younger visitors with exiting gifts are also in place.

In connection with the opening we have the opportunity to arrange the worlds largest filmfestival for flyfishing, Rise Flyfishing Filmfestival. It will take place at Bio Roy (Kungsportsavenyn 45, Gothenburg) between 12.00-15.30. The American filmer RC Cone will be present during the day at both the store and the cinema. His latest movie “Breathe” is shown at the festival and he’ll be talking about the work behind the movie. Amazing films from all the corner of the world will be shown, it’s the perfect start of the season!

During the opening event we’ll be offering discount on our full assortment up to 20% of  original price!

There will be snacks and cold/warm beverages for all visitors.

About the store:

The store will be a gathering point for sportfishing and outdoor interested people in the Kungsbacka/Gothenburg area. A clear presence on the internet through the web shop will expand the market.  The store will be equipped with a full assortment of flyfishing products, spinnfishing equipment and outdoor clothing and accessories.

Shot on the Missouri River near Craig, Montana, “Sipping Dry” attempts to articulate the true essence of dry fly fishing in a setting many consider to be one of the dry fly capitals of the world. The full-length version will be featured in the 2012 Fly Fishing Film Tour (thef3t.com).

Mavungana Fly Fishing

We are excited to welcome Jonathan Boulton to the Imago Family.  Jonathan lives in South Africa and founded Mavungana Flyfishing, a series of fly shops located in Dullstroom and Johannesberg, South Africa.

Jonathan is quite an incredible trout-bum traveller, fitting right in with the Imago Family.  When asked about his shop, his next adventures, and whats happening; his only reply, via email, was:

running like mad here packing everything from waders and boots to tropical lines and Peacock Bass flies, fly tomorrow

We assume his mad-dash-i’m-getting-on-a-plane-email means he’s headed to Argentina and the Amazon to chase the monstrous beauties pictured above, and, damn, good on him!  If we can’t go – we want to hear his stories when he gets back, so we’ll just stay tuned.

From the Amazon, to Alaska, to New Zealand and back to South Africa – wherever Jonathon happens to be, we’re excited to have him on board.  Stay tuned for more of Jonathon’s adventures and related news from Mavungana Flyfishing.
