at long last, we’re having our first supper + song of the year.

an evening of music curated by Chancellor Warhol, featuring Jonny P, Super Duper and Chancellor Warhol himself. this Thursday, July 23rd, from 6 – 8pm, it’s bound to be one hell of a night.

supper + song is free and open to the public… our backyard is yours. bring a blanket and your own beverages. the Mas Tacos truck will be on hand selling grub starting around 5 pm and the backyard will be open at 6pm – feel free to start piling in around then. things tend to wind down by 9:00, so plan to get there on the early side.

a couple of housekeeping/friendly neighbor notes:

*we want to be mindful of our neighbors’ home and business parking. please make sure that driveways are not blocked, carpool if you can, make sure that cars are parked legally, etc.

*supper + song is such a gift to us and in order to sustain it for years and years to come, please help us maintain the utmost respect for our neighbors as well as the performers. you know what we mean…

love,
i+w

p.s. in anticipation of thursday night’s supper + song, we asked Chancellor Warhol to put together a lil’ playlist to tide us all over. listen here

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines!

On Saturday, June 13th, we will be hosting the 4th installment of Pints + Pistons, imogene and willie’s very own motorcycle gathering.

This time around, it’s a combination ride and show-and-tell.

We will meet at Atlas Motorworks (500 Houston Street, Nashville, TN) at 12pm. Atlas Motorworks has a great backroads ride planned for us. Please come a little early as there will be a wavier to sign before the ride. All riders must sign a waiver. This is a no man left behind ride (unless your bike breaks down then you’re kinda on your own). To avoid this, bring a buddy and a cellphone!!!!

The ride will run from 12pm to 3pm and will end at imogene and willie (2601 12th Avenue South). There will be music, a food truck and some dope ass bikes in the backyard.

ATTENTION ALL SHOW-OFFS – PLEASE STAY AT HOME!!!!!

THE REST OF YOU, READ THIS…….

Motorcycle riding in big groups can be extremely dangerous if not done correctly. On the road, motorcyclists should have at least a 2-second cushion in front and behind them. If you want to keep the group tight, consider a staggered formation. Leave enough room per lane so each rider can maneuver side-to-side if need be. While riding, don’t fixate on the motorcycle in front of you. Instead, remember your basic training. Look well through the turn to where you want to go. Avoid side-by-side formations as they shrink your space cushion. As turns get sharper, or as visibility decreases, move back to a single file formation. You’ll also want to use single file when entering or exiting a highway or when roads have a rough or questionable surface. At intersections where you’ve come to a stop, tighten the formation to side-by-side to take up less space. As the light turns green, or when traffic opens up, the bike on the left proceeds through the intersection first.

Remember we share the road with many other vehicles, and it’s against the law to block an intersection.

we’ve admired Yvon Choinard and @Patagonia for years. they are, hands-down, one of the best and most purpose driven brands of all time.

they’ve sent a small team on a cross-country road trip with their @WornWear tour, stopping at clothing and outdoor hubs to do free clothing repairs and teaching folks how to fix their own clothes.

we are so honored that they chose our nashville shop as a destination on their trip…

today they’ll be set up outside the shop from 10 – 5. bring your tired, well-loved clothing for repair. if you don’t have any, they’ll supply it. fix it, and you can keep it.

“the demise of production in america is killing our dreams…”

at a Tedx talk in 2012, we shared our dreams of bringing production back to America. the Nashville Fashion Alliance is working hard to help develop and support the infrastructure that it will take to put Nashville on the map as an epicenter in the fashion industry. we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the fight.

Running a start up or an established business is more than a full time commitment. It often takes an organization whose sole purpose is to support that community to see an entire industry thrive. We’ve seen this happen all over the world and we’ve seen it right here in Nashville in the music industry and the tech community.

Music and Fashion go hand-in-hand. Over the last few years, Nashville’s Fashion scene has absolutely exploded with talent. We are now home to over 150 growing fashion brands. This community also includes stylists, models, photographers, manufacturers, tech companies, textile companies, and many others that work in the fashion industry.

Our mission is to provide these creative companies with infrastructure, resources and support while at the same time creating needed jobs in our community. Here is how we’re going to do it…

it started a year ago (almost to the day). we were designing our 2014 t-shirt graphics when Matt had one hell of an idea. our excitement, sadly, was snuffed out as we realized there was no way we could ever make it happen….

then somehow… in the last few weeks, following a serendipitous sequence of events, we were approached to attend Heartbreaker Banquet, Willie Nelson’s annual event held in Luck, Texas. as we started to plan, we dusted off the shirt idea.

today, we’re in Luck, Texas hanging with our friends at Heartbreaker Banquet, and we’re releasing the the “willie nelson” tee. a very special edition, limited run of 1000 shirts. they’ll be available through April 1.

the folks at W Magazine asked Carrie to share the secrets behind her personal style and share a few a of her favorite things. below are her answers…

Define your style in three words:
Old meets new.

Daily uniform:
Imogene + Willie Elizabeth indigo jeans, vintage Wrangler denim shirt, and whichever Maison Martin Margiela boot seems to be the best fit for the day (white t-shirt takes the place of the Wrangler shirt during the summer months).

Greatest hits:
1940’s sterling and turquoise squash blossom necklace, wedding band, 1968 stainless steel Rolex that Matt gave me for our 5th anniversary, RRL Navajo shawl, my brothers old Levi’s, the original/first pair of Imogene rigid jeans, and a black blazer from Zara that I bought in Istanbul in 2000.

Preferred footwear:
A high-heeled bootie or bare feet.

Finishing touches:
Omorovicza lip balm and gold flash firming serum, pure frankincense essential oil, Wen conditioning cleanser, 1950’s Stetson.

Nighttime look:
Add a blazer and mascara.

Best recent discoveries:
Klipsch Image ONE (II) headphones; 21C hotel group out of Louisville, Kentucky; and the new album by D’Angelo, Black Messiah.

Favorite stores:
Our friend Scott Corey’s shop, Santa Fe Vintage, in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Bart’s Books in Ojai, California.

Style pet peeve:
Trying too hard.

Style icons:
The character Rita Nebraska in Little Fauss and Big Halsy, Lauren Hutton.

Last purchase:
Agnes Baddoo Sac 2 tote in Natural.

Lusting after:
Edward Wormley vintage leather lounge chairs.

Favorite haunts:
East Nashville Community Acupuncture; Pucketts Grocery in Leipers Fork, Tennessee; The H.M.S Bounty on Wilshire in Los Angeles; Fez Café tucked in the Grand Bizarre in Instanbul, Turkey.

Winter must-haves:
Vintage thermal underwear tops, Matt’s socks, La Mer serum concentrate.

What’s always in your bag:
2 grid-lined moleskins, 6 micron .01 black pens, tweezers, lip balm, 2 bandanas, clear plastic envelope for magazine clippings; Saint Laurent’s zipped wallet with driving license, passport, and paperclips. (I carry my passport in case I can’t find my license!)
