Hot damn kids. Get er done. Repeal the seventeenth amendment and scale federal government back to the seventeen enumerated powers granted it in the Constitution.

A movement exists that calls for the repeal of the Seventeenth Amendment, generally opposing it on grounds of federalism and taking away too much power from the states. Proponents of repeal have also accused Senators of being hostage to special interests, the same charge that helped pass the Seventeenth Amendment in 1913. Repeal gained renewed interest in 2004, when U.S. Senator Zell Miller of Georgia, shortly after announcing his intention to retire from the Senate, introduced a resolution in the Senate to repeal the Seventeenth Amendment.

Miller said: Direct elections of Senators ... allowed Washington's special interests to call the shots, whether it is filling judicial vacancies, passing laws, or issuing regulations.

Miller's resolution never made it out of committee; it has been noted that it is unlikely for Senators elected by the popular vote to back a change to the method that worked for them.

I came to this site thinking it would be an interesting read and good action center. I see it is just a ploy for the conservatives to further agenda. This site bashes Obama and supports G. Beck in order to further the lie that the left and right are different in this country. They are not. Beck has supported every major decision that Obama made. Also, Obama isn't even the one in control. He is merely a front man for the IMF and international banks.

DP -- You, sir, clearly do not know what you're talking about. You should study the true history of our country not the propaganda that is fed to the people by this morally corrupt government.

Point number 1 - Republicans (not that I care about them) are not responsible for "keeping us in constant wars". It was Progressive Democrats that brought us into WWI by evil President Woodrow Wilson and WWII by evil President Franklin Roosevelt. Vietnam was perpetuated by President Lyndon Johnson and democratic controlled Congresses have voted repeatedly to finance these wars continuing the killing without a commitment to win and get out.

Point number 2 - Obama does not keep cool in any tense situation. He lashes out at the slightest criticism like the scared adult three year old he is. He is a virtue-less and morally corrupt man that is using his anger of his childhood to force his version of "social justice" on the American people. That is simply wrong on so many levels.

I'll give you credit for knowing that the problems we are facing as a nation didn't come about in the last year but they also didn't start 50 years ago... try 110 years ago with Theodore Roosevelt (a Republican) and Woodrow Wilson after him. Go back and read about Progressivism and then go further back and read the writings of the founding fathers. Find out why they wrote the Constitution the way they did and learn the fundamental basis of their thinking. You might be surprised at how you have been cheated by the education you were provided.

I, sir am doing something for my country by helping to bring the truth to the poor idiots, such as yourself, that believe in the crap being spewed by this communist propagandist.

Maybe you should do something like wising up and actually learning the true history of America. You might be surprised at how wrong you are.

it seems republicans keeping us in constant wars would be more likely be the cause of random violence.

obama keeps cool in situations where most people would get angry. That doesn't inspire violence it inspires people to be in control of their emotions.

One year of a person in office is not the cause of our demise. It's 50 years of commercialism and war mongering. People have long been unhappy. This article has no merit and I doubt the author really even believes what they have written.

Maybe you should do something constructive for our country. Taking the negative road or blaming someone is always the easy way. I look forward to obama leaving office to. Simply to take away the central focus of your hatred and blame. Because your life may be better because of obama but it won't be worse. Your civil liberties have been eroded over the last 40 years not this last year.

cheers
