One of the key mistakes hold'em players make when they start playing pot limit Omaha is to continuation bet at a similar frequency to what they do in hold'em. This is nearly always a big mistake in pot limit Omaha though, for two key reasons.

I'm start off on a decent table with one good online player and Gavin Smith. I lose the first three pots I play and get down to about 170k. Then I make a really good value bet against Gavin with 88 on a 392T3 board and get paid off bringing me back up to around 220k.

Day 2 Niagara - Short-stack to top ten stack

After ending Day 1 with just 9,100 chips, I had a lot of work to do. With the blinds being 400/800 with antes, realistically, I have low expectations, but it is a fun stack to play, and I never give up! I was at a great table, with the only recognizable player being Joe Sebok who I had on my right.

Day 1 was uninteresting in the early levels. I played a solid game in the beginning and got up to 40,000 within the first hour by playing very standard. However, during the later levels of Day 1, there were some serious chip movements.

I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about some hands from WPT Niagara while it's still fresh in my mind. I think I played the entire tournament near perfect other than two or three mistakes I made throughout the duration.

Started Day 2 with 68k at 400/800... proceeded to lose 16k chips with AQ vs JJ all in preflop.... table got broke. Proceeded to lose another 22k chips with AK vs TT.... at this point I'm at 20k at a very, very nitty 7 handed table. I raise ATcc UTG, get called in 4 spots... flop is Jc6cTx board... I checked and then the first caller made it 4k.... everyone else folded and I shoved my remaining 18k... he called and had JJ I didn't hit and that was GG me...

I woke up in the morning of the tournament and went for a nice long run... does wonders for clearing my head. I recommend it to anyone =) Started the day off really well by doubling up to 20k after picking someone up on a bluff.
