Gem City Comic Con

This weekend Twisted Wire participated in the GEM City Comic con and the results were awesome.
The show started April 2nd and ended April 3rd. The attendance was great. I will say that the City of Dayton was well represented and everyone had fun. There were quite a few Cos-Players out displaying their outfits. Some of the Cos-players were amazing and some of them well.....Hmmm I will say that they had something to aspire to.

The people that I had a chance to speak with were all very nice and interesting. I had a great time talking to the fans about all things geek. That is one of the things I love about Comic Cons, people can let their hair down and just have fun.

This Cos -Player was in a very unique outfit. She had actual hooves that clopped like a horse. she was having a great time walking around and showing off her work.

When I saw this Jedi I had to smile because this was the female version of Obi Wan Kinobi. I had her pose with my wire sculpture of her character.

This was the warrior from Skyrum. He had and excellent costume. I thought he did a great job in making his outfit.

I would most certainly do this show again because I had a really good time just geeking out and selling artwork. I met a lot of vendors who were fans of all things Geek. We had some fun discussions and I had a chance to see some incredible artwork. If you haven't been to a comic con then you are missing out. It is a fun way to see some very talented Artists and have a lot of fun with the family. Gem City Comic Con staff great Job on a Con Well Done!

The Wolf Pack and The Ellite

The Elite VS the Wolf pack
I wanted to create a group of warriors in two teams that could oppose one another in my search for characters to fulfill this role I came up with the wolf pack and the elite both groups of soldiers are incredible Warriors and amazing Fighters so I cultivated this team to show all of their abilities and all of this skill

The members of the Elite are:

Shock- Named for his unique ability to surprise his enemies. He is a lethal warrior when in close combat.

Shock

Weapon 50- One of the most amazing warriors of his time. Weapon 50 was an experimental soldier who was genetically enhanced to be the ultimate warrior. He honed his skills through years of combat.

Old Clay

Dark Arrow-He is the most accurate sniper of his time. He could hit a fly with a tooth pic at 100 yards in a snowstorm. His mind and skills allow... him to calculate the trajectories of his projectiles in a way that defies logic. He can use guns, knives, or a bow to levels unseen by anyone before his time.

Dark Arrow

Old Clay- the oldest soldier in the entire army, Old Clay has been around since the first battles were fought in this conflict. He possess incredible strength and tenacity. Somehow he has survived through thousands of battles. His skill with the Morning Stars is remarkable and in close quarter combat there is no one else you would want behind you.

Weapon 50

Ulysies

Ulysies- Ulysies is from a time that history long forgot. He fights with chivalry and honor and his every move is a testament to his honor bound dedication to fighting for what’s right. His exoskeleton gives him superior strength and speed. Coupled with his skill with the blade he is a incredible warrior.
Zeus-The shining star from Wakanda. Zeus has been assigned to the Elite by non-other than the King himself. He brings with him vibranium based armor that absorbs and redirects any impact from an outside source. He wields a plasma cannon hand gun and a vibra- sword made from a vibranium based composite. His fighting skills are on the level with the Black Panther.
Major Redd-After discovering the secret to the long lost super soldier serum a small group of scientists injected Redd, (Then a 1st LT in the Army) with the 1st dose that changed his life. He had the same results that Steve Rodgers had but with one exception. His mind was accelerated he can now play out hundreds of scenarios in his mind. This makes him an incredible field General because his tactics are always sound.
This is why his team of warriors have been able to survive so long in this war.

The Members of the Wolf Pack :

This is the Elite group of warriors known as the Wolf Pack. The members include.

The descendant of the Indian nation in the United States Chief Running Bear, next is Delta 7 a one man fighting force who wields a chain fed assault riffle. In the back is the lethal force of nature the Spartan. Clasher is in the middle with his shield and sword, he is a warrior that comes once in a generation.in front is Captain Pain who is a member of the Queens Guard. He is a specially trained warrior who has mastered 50 different fighting styles. On the other side is the Witch King, he was displaced from his reality and he chose to stay here and fight in the Wolf Packs war. Leading the group of warriors is Agent 50. Agent 50 is a gifted leader. He understands tactics and the capabilities of his people. He also is one amazing fighter. His skills are many steps above even the most Elite warriors.

Spartan

The Wolf Pack is a collection of the greatest warriors that have ever been seen in the realm. They fight together as a well oiled machine.

The Spartan is the groups combat instructor. He has been a hand to hand fighter since he was 5 yrs old. His people believed that a warrior should be always ready no matter the situation.
The number of disciplines he knows would rival the Dark Knight himself, you may know him by another name some call him Batman. Spartan is and expert with over 1000 different types of weapons. If you find your self in conflict with him there are two possible outcomes. You either die or you run away. He is an amazing combatant when it comes to hand to hand or cutting weapons.

Delta 7

A specialized warrior who has been equipped with body armor that is blended with multiple layers of titanium and Kevlar. He carries a belt fed assault machine gun. On his back is a pack that houses hundreds of rounds of ammunition. He also has a hip mounted plasma sword and a mac 10 sub machine gun on his thigh. This is the warrior that is sent into combat to defeat the enemy's of his leaders. Just like his name sake he is the best of the best.

The Witch King is a warrior from a different realm. His kingdom is a place of evil and darkness. He has tried to guide his people in the ways of the light which makes him a very unpopular leader with some of the members of the leadership. He has tried to overcome that darkness with good and by the strength of his faith and his abilities as a leader and a warrior he has been successful. Because of a freak accident he fell through a portal that delivered him to this reality So without a kingdom and his people he joined to the cause to be a beacon of hope in this world.

The Witch King

Chief Running Bear is a highly trained spec ops warrior. He is a descendant of the Apache Indians in the American west. He wears his ceremonial head dress in honor of his forefathers. His survival skills and fighting skills are beyond the normal range of a regular soldier. He fights with a tomahawk and a silenced assault rifle. When he was asked why he has a silencer on his riffle he responded that he didn't want his enemy's to hear him coming.

Chief Running Bear

Agent 50

Agent 50 is one of the most decorated members of Shield. He excelled in every category they had for leadership. He carries an array of specialized weapons that are equipped for almost any situation. He has the ability to adapt to any situation. He can take the worst situation and find a way to succeed in it. This ability has lead to victories on the battlefield when defeat was a certainty. He has also turned suicide missions into victories.
Because of this every man in shield wants to be led by him. His Leadership skills are legendary and he is a force to be reckoned with.

The battle rages on and the combatants look for an advantage over each other.

The Elite and the Wolf Pack will continue this battle for many years to come.

The new Deadpool movie is a hit!
We knew it was going to be good only if the studios didn't mess with the story and they stuck to the source material. This is a great example that shows the studios that all of the years the writers put in developing the characters in comics is valuable. You can't argue with over twenty years and in some cases many more years of development.

Ryan Reynolds has been pushing to get this movie made for a few years. It looks like all of his efforts have paid off to our benefit.

So for the few people who don't know who this character is I will give you a brief introduction.
Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool is a Mercenary who went around the world working for the next big score. He found out that he had cancer and he was going to die very soon. He was approached by a rep from the Weapon X program who offers a second option to Wade.
This option would not only save his life but it would make him better than he was before.

After going through the process Wade made a stunning discovery. His appearance was altered in a horrific way. His entire body looked like he had been through a meat grinder.

This look is right along with the source material so all of the comic book nerds are smiling. Deadpool got his name from the list of people who they thought would die. The group placed bets on who would die first so with that in mind Wade decided that would be his new name.

The movie included all of this information along with some of the best jokes I have heard in a while.

Deadpool is after the guy who took his girl friend.

Dead pool had to go against a guy who couldn't feel pain and he was pretty strong as well. The one liners flowed and the hits just kept on coming. It was a wild ride and I enjoyed every second of it.

They had a couple of X-men in the movie which also had me laughing. I love the way they stuck to Colossus being Russian and trying to win Deadpool over to the X-Men. That was a funny bit all in itself. The fight scenes with the X-Men were awesome. This was a low budget movie $58 million dollars to be exact and they made that money back by Saturday morning.

I look forward to the next two movies.....Come on you don't think they will make this a trilogy?

They would have to be completely idiotic not to.

Deadpool will go on to open up new avenues for the superhero movies. For those of you who don't like hero movies I'm sorry...there are movies I don't like as well I just ignore them and keep it moving. My hope is that we will see the super hero movies stay around for about 50 years so that all of the fans can really enjoy them.

Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones is the newest addition to the Netflix line of shows. It was created by Marvel Studios and released in November. I finally finished the entire series and I can say Bravo Marvel!!!! This was a very dark and different series that was very well done.

The lead character in the show is Krysten Ritter. Krysten is known for her roles as Jane Margolis on the AMC drama series Breaking Bad, Chloe on the ABC comedy series Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 .

She has been in quite a few films such as What happens in Vegas,27 dresses, Confessions of a Shopaholic, She's out of my league, Veronica Mars and many more. She has worked very hard to perfect her craft. This very clear when you watch her work in the series. Krysten embraces the character and displays all of the emotion and rage a person would have if they were forced to act against their will.

This was one of the more surprising additions to the series. David Tennant played the super villain Killgrave. His character in the comics was called the Purple Man. He had the ability to control people and make them do what ever he said just by speaking to them. David is a very good actor. He played the Doctor in the BBC series Doctor Who. He did an amazing job in this role.

I watched the series and I enjoyed every minute of it. Dave played the Doctor for a few seasons and he then moved on to other roles. I think the time he played the Doctor is one of the best portrayals in the history of the show.

I was surprised that he was cast in the role of Kilgrave in Jesseca Jones. After watching the entire first season ( yeah I binged watched the show) I can say that it was a job well done.

One of my favorite characters is Luke Cage played by Mike Colter. Luke Cage in the Marvel comics universe is a man who was wrongfully accused of a crime and imprisoned. While he was locked up they performed an experiment that led to him having skin that was harder than Steele and it gave him incredible strength.

He works in a Bar that was owned by his wife, while she was working a case for a client Jessica Jones was investigating the relationship that Luke had with a woman. This led her to develop feelings for him.

I am a huge fan of this character because he is one of the first Black comic Book heroes I read about when I was a kid. I loved the look that he had. Luke and Jessica got into a fight in the later parts of the series. This was one extreme fight scene, they were throwing each other around like rag dolls. This entire scene was due to the control of Kilgrave. He took control of Lukes mind and unleashed him upon Jessica. They did a wonderful job with the stunt work in this part of the episode you were drawn in and you could actually feel the tension in the episode.

Rachael Taylor plays Trish Walker Jessica's adopted Sister. During the episode you see her develop the character in many facets. She deals with the issues she had with her mother who tried to live through her as a child star, She also has issues with being attacked. She is taking Krag Maga with a trainer and she has special locks and home security that make her place a fortress. Throughout the episodes we see how she deals with all of her issues

We see Jessica dealing with issues and problems as the episode moves along and each time we get a small peak at her incredible strength.

One of the characters that is from the Marvel universe is Nuke played by Will Traval. Nuke is a government agent that was given specialized drugs to heighten his combat abilities. He was made unstable by the drugs which caused him to start war in Hells Kitchen with Daredevil. We may see this later in the new episodes.

If you get a chance to watch the show you will not be disappointed because it is very well made. I hope you enjoyed this blog I will continue to write about interesting things as time goes by.

The Walking Dead season 6 Glen is alive!

The Walking dead season 6 has presented us with some very interesting twists. I watched the last episode where glen looked like he was lunch meat for a few walkers. It was disheartening to think that one of my favorite characters was going to be dead
and found at your local Zombie mart as the lunch special.

I was shocked because I didn’t expect the show to get rid of one of its main characters.

When the most recent episode started the elephant in the room was addressed right away….Thank you J

We all saw Glen standing on top of the garbage can surrounded by walkers with nowhere to go. It was pretty much a done deal that he was a dead man. Glen and Nicholas were looking at each other when Nicholas pulled out a gun and blew his head off. As we watched they both fell over to the waiting hands of the crowd of walkers who then rang the dinner bell and proceeded to eat the new fresh meal that was provided for them.

We flash forward to Rick who was busy trying to put the walls back up at Alexadria with over 1000 walkers milling around outside. The people of the town are still trying to get over the last attack by the rival survivors who wanted only to kill and plunder the town.

Morgan has a secret he captured on of the invaders and he is trying to get the man to leave his killing ways. Just as it was done for him. I don’t know if this will be possible. I did like the story on Morgan, it shows how he became the pacifist that he is and how he can totally beat the snot out of you in a fight. That guy is a serious fighter.

Daryl ran into a group that was running from another township of oppressors. Unfortunately for him they thought he was part of the group that was pursuing them. After being held captive and then escaping his soft side showed and he had mercy on the people who were holding him. That lead to him losing his motorcycle and his crossbow ( man that stings)!

The next episode shows us more of what happened after the town has recovered from the last battle. It is obvious that they are setting up the season finale. That church tower that is falling apart is going to cause some serious problems for the people of Alexandria. Their peaceful existence is about to end. Are they ready or will they become dinner for a few thousand walkers? We will see, I will tell you this there will be a few folks meeting their maker after this next episode for sure.

Arrow at the Louisvile Kentucky Comic Con

Wizard World Louisville Kentucky Comic Con

The Louisville Comic Con started off with a bang. There was an incredible lineup of stars scheduled for the show.
Bruce Campbell, “Ash,”'Arrow' Stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, John Barrowman, Paul Blackthorne and Willa Holland To Attend Wizard World Comic Con Louisville

David Was a very cool guy in person. He worked the room and was very pleasant to all of the artist's who where in Artist Alley. I thought he did a great job making everyone feel important to him.

J. August was an incredibly nice person! He came over and spoke with me as I showed him a wire sculpture I created based on his character in Marvel Agents of Shield. He even signed the sculpture for me. I thought that was an amazing thing he did. I really appreciate that. I am a fan of the show and I have a new appreciation for him as an actor and as a person.

Jason David Frank was walking by and he saw my wire art work and he came over to ask if there were any wire sculptures of the Green Power Ranger. I told him I had made one of his character and he said I gotta see it. I took it down and he took out a sharpie and signed it on the spot. The funny thing is that I only made one Green Power Ranger wire sculpture and it is the one that is signed by the Jason David Frank himself. I was amazed.

I was standing at my booth and I looked up and saw Stephen Amell walking by. I asked him if he would take a picture holding my wire sculpture of Arrow and he did something I didn't expect. He signed the sculpture and took a few pictures with me. I was floored because he didn't have to do that. He was a really nice guy and now I have a wire sculpture that is signed by the star Of the hit TV series. I was totally stoked!

Bruce Cambell came by to see one of the artists next to me and I had to snap a picture of him. He was dressed for a night out on the town and he was a very nice guy for a Hollywood movie star.

Ken Kelly the artist who drew many of the album covers for Kiss and a signature artist for the Conan the Barbarian comic book series, was at the comic con. He was in my section signing his pictures and meeting all of his fans. I asked him if he would sign my wire sculpture of Conan the Barbarian.

He said he would now I have my very own signed Conan wire sculpture by one of the most iconic men in art. I know I grew up reading Conan the Barbarian as a kid and I respect his talent and his amazing ability to create artwork. Oh yeah he is a former Marine so to me that was the icing on the cake..

There were a lot of Cos Players at the show. As they came by I took a few pictures of the ones that I thought were very good.

This was a guy who was cos-playing as the guy from the Howling. I thought he was a great example of someone who took time to look really good.

This was a guy who was dressed as the creature from Jeepers Creepers. He was about 9 feet tall. I got the creeps just standing there for the picture.

Fire Storm showed up at the con. I thought this was cool because I had never seen anyone cos-play as this character.

This guy was dressed as Bumble Bee and he represented well. I had him pose with my wire sculpture of Bumble Bee.

The Wizard World Louisville Kentucky Comic Con was a fun event. I was amazed at the cast of Arrow and all of the other Stars that showed up. They were all very kind and they showed interest in the Artist's on Artist alley. That made my day especially when they started signing my artwork. The Fans were all very excited and they came out in the thousands. I can't tell you how many people came out but I can tell you there was a large sized group of people and they were all excited to be there. I will be at the Dayton Ohio Christmas show in December.

Justice league vs Avengers

Justice League vs Avengers

I created my second themed chess set and this time the primary characters are the Justice league and the Avengers.

This is the top view of the Justice league. All of the pieces are about 3 inches tall so they are not very big. That made it difficult to add the needed detail for each piece. I used checkmate characters as the pawns because they are cool.

I had to give Marvel some love in this set. The tough part was choosing the characters to be the court. That gave me some trouble because there are so may great characters to choose from. I finally settled on the Iconic characters. I also added War machine because he is one of my favorite pieces.

The king in the set is Thor. I was torn between him and Captain America, but after thinking about it I came to the conclusion that Thor is a Norse god and he does rule Asgaurd.

Captain America would have to be in the set. I tried to capture the shield to give the piece some flash. He is a Bishop in the set.

I made The Hulk larger than the rest well because he is the Hulk. LOL. And you know what The Hulk always says? Hulk SMASH..... I have the Hulk as a Knight in the set.

This piece brought a smile to my face. I think Hawkeye is just the coolest character. I took his classic costume from the comics and gave him only one arrow. He is a rook in the set.

No set is complete without Black widow. I made her the Queen. I was going to use the Scarlet Witch but at the last minute old Black widow won out.

Iron Man .....nuff said. LOL, I couldn't get the detail in the mask so I just left it out. I'm sure you can tell this is Iron Man.

The best there is at what he does. Wolverine is one of the coolest characters in the Marvel universe so I had to include him. He is a knight in the chess set.

Spider man Spider man does whatever a Spider can. Yes I put the old web slinger in the set as a rook.

War machine is my extra piece for the set. I made him just because...

I knew right away that I would have nick Fury and the shield agents as my pawns. They came out great. I even took the time to make them diverse.

I made a small version of Hawk Man and it came out great! I love this character. I will have to make a larger version of it in the future. He is a Rook in the set.

Green Arrow is another great piece for the set.

Cyborg has been added to the Justice league and you know I had to put him in the set.

The Flash is the fastest man alive and in this set he holds a place as a rook.

To close out the set I included the check mate group of Warriors.

The entire set took me a few weeks to complete. In the end I this it was well worth the time.

Star Wars a New Creation

I am a huge fan of the Star Wars Franchise. That being said I have to admit that I don't like Jar Jar Binks!!!! Ok I had to get that off my chest.

The movies have been around since I was a child. All I have know is that Star Wars is coming out soon. The directors did a great job setting up all of the parts of the movie that would explain this huge universe.

I love the game of chess. I am not a great player by any stretch of the imagination. I can hold my own with a good player. A chess master would clean my clock.

I decided that I would sit down and create my very own wire chess set inspired by the Star Wars movie Franchise.

Darth Vader

The Iconic Sith Lord DarthVader is the Queen in the chess set. The Queen is the most powerful piece in the chess set so it had to be Darth Vader.

You gotta love the number one bounty hunter in the Star Wars Universe.

Darth Maul- Bishop

I had to make Darth Maul one of the characters in the chess set. He was in one of the prequels for a short time and he immediately stole every scene he was in. This character is a Bishop in the chess set.

General Grivious- Rook

General Grevious was created as a rook. This was a fun piece to create.

The number one team of scoundrels in the Star Wars universe.

Chewbacca and Han Solo are my Knights for the Light side.

The Entire Light Side Court

This is an image of the entire Light Side court. I was very happy to create this group. It only took me about 20 hours to paint the wood and build every character for the light side. I was in geek heaven as I saw the characters come to life.

A chess set isn't complete without Luke Sky Walker and Obi-Wan Kinobi. they will be the Bishops in the chess set.

Princess Leia and Yoda

I made my Queen and King Princess Leia and Yoda because Yoda is the most powerful Jedi Knight and well Leia is the obvious Queen.

Rebel Soldiers

The Rebel Soldiers were always going to be my pawns in the set. I didn't worry about making all of them identical because in real life everyone isn't the same size so there wasn't the drive to hold that level .

This is the Dark side King. I decided to make Darth Sideous the King because he sat back in the shadows orchestrating everything and that caused so much trouble for the whole universe.

The Storm Troopers were kept simple because it just works. I chose them as my pawns for the dark side.

This is the set that I created as it was inspired by the Star Wars movies. All of these pieces are my version of the characters. I will showcase this set at the upcoming Comic conventions and Art shows.

Twisted Wire is on the Move

Derby city and Pop culture Cons

Twisted wire recently showcased in two cons in Kentucky and Indianapolis Indiana.

Both shows were a lot of fun and the fans were very responsive to the original artwork.

Derby City was a very interesting Convention. There was a nice crowd for the location the problem was that there were way to many Artists. I thought it was a little strange that there was as many artists that there were there. I had a great opportunity to visit with some very interesting people.

This Con was much better because it was planned out with more diverse products and there was a nice group of B and C list stars at the show.

At the end of the show I was happy with the results of the Pop Culture Con. It was better than the Derby City con. I think next year I will skip both Cons and return in 2017. It was fun and I met a lot of great people.

Game of Throwns Season 5...They killed John Snow !

The Season finale of Game of Thrones was simply shocking! They decided that they would kill off a number of characters....Shocker! One of the characters they decided to get rid of was John snow. This was surprising because I thought that John was still a big part of the story going forward. Killing him off at this early time seemed premature.

John was finally in charge of the Watch and it seemed like he was going to spearhead the defense against the White Walkers. I would say that his decision to put Bowen Marsh as his second in command was a disaster. You never want your enemy at your back and in this case he put his most powerful rival in the watch behind him. I thought that he was going to send him away and to my surprise he elevated Bowen to second in command. This decision led to his death.

The part that really surprises me is that the men of the Watch never take into consideration that they will need the Free folk. With the huge number of white walkers that are coming their way they will need every man woman and child to defend the realm.

Led by Tormund the Free folk could turn the tides in a fight but now that John snow is gone I fully expect the Nights Watch to turn on them and try to destroy the Free folk. This will of course be a disaster because the Free Folk out number the Nights Watch by 50 -1 so any fight they start will be short and bloody.

Another surprising twist was when Arya stark decided to get revenge for the death of her friend. She kills Meryn Trant and she then returns to the House of white to return her disguise.
she is caught and as a punishment she is left blind. This series of events was also very surprising because I didn't know what to expect.
They are killing off characters like people change underwear..

Daenerys Targaryen looked like she was about to die in the next to last episode when she was surrounded by the Masters and she only had a few Unsullied warriors with her.

That was one of the most exciting scenes in the next to last episode in Season 5. I was at the edge of my seat. When all was lost one of the dragons came flying in to save the day. I watched in amazement as the Dragon killed many of the Masters who where trying to kill Daenerys. It seemed at first like they would prevail but then spear after spear found the dragon and we all saw the tide turn.
Daenerys realized that the dragon would die if he stayed in the arena so she jumped on his back to be flown to safety.

That is where the Finale picks up. Daenerys was on top of a mountain in a strange land and the dragon was licking his wounds and resting. She decided to explore here surroundings when she is found by what looks like thousands of Dothraki who surround her in a swarm. I don't know where they are taking this but it looks like Daenerys will unite the Dothraki with her Unsullied warriors and freed slaves to make an unstoppable army.

They will all need to unite if they want to defeat the White Walkers. This is and enemy who will not stop until the entire world is at their feet. How do you defeat an army that gets stronger when you loose people? The don't need to eat or sleep and they don't care about getting hurt. That is a very scary situation. It's like trying to fight an army of suicide bombers on crack.

there were a few more story lines that were interesting.
Cersei Lanister had to go through a walk of Shame for her sins. this was very surprising and graphic. She had to walk through the kingdom naked and bare foot all the way back to the castle. During this walk you saw her change. She faced all of the people as they threw things, spit on her, called her names, and performed many horrible displays of vulgarity towards her but she persevered.
I think her character is misguided and bad in most cases but I had to tip my hat to her for not giving up. when she made it back to the castle she collapsed in the castle as the weight of her experience bore down on her. That's when we saw the Mountain.

We last saw the mountain on the table getting his blood drained and put back into his body with a foreign substance.
I look forward to seeing what he will do now that he is almost a superman.

The most memorable image we had of the mountain was when he was crushing a guys skull with his bare hands. To say the least he wasn't a very nice person to begin with
I Think now he is even more fearsome than he was before.

If you are a fan then you can't wait for the next season. I think they will continue to make the show surprising and very brutal.

St Louis Comic Con

The Saint Louis Comic Con was awesome!

We had a great time at the Comic Con. There were many good celebrities there to include Robin Taylor the Penguin. Christian Kane who has been in a few of my favorite TV shows.

We also had Michael Rooker on site signing autographs and talking to all of the fans. He was a pretty cool guy and very nice to boot.

I met Captain Jack Sparrow at the con. He was a very nice guy. He even ordered a wire sculpture of his favorite character.

We had two links show up so I had to get a picture of them.

This is Hawk Girl her name is Kate. She created the costume herself. everything she wore was of her own design. She told me that she was going to compete in the contest and hopefully she would do well.

Her regular profession is a research lab technician. She has only started Cos-playing in the past year. St. Louis is only her 3rd Con.

I found out that Kate won the competition. I was very happy for her because she was such a nice person.

This was just a short look into the weekend at the Saint Louis Comic Convention.

I will continue writing about the next few shows that I do to give you a glimpse into the life of an Artist. I will be making more and more sculptures as time goes by if you want one please contact me .

Marvel Avenger Age of Ultron Review

Avengers Age of Ultron Review.

After see the movie for myself I can say that I enjoyed it very much!

Marvel did a great job capturing all of the characters and displaying their gifts and talents throughout the entire film. I loved how they had the Hulk inter act with the team. This was a great way to depict him and utilize his strength within the confines of the Avengers.

This film gave us an opportunity to see Tony stark and Dr. Banner in their elements as scientists. It also showed us how they differ in their approach to a problem.

I won’t give any of the movie away since everyone hasn’t seen it.

The introduction of Quick silver and the Scarlet Witch were well received. I think they captured the essence of who they were.

The movie progressed at a very good pace and I wasn’t bored at any time during the entire show.

They kept me on the edge of my seat with all of the action. The final climatic fight scene and the introduction of the Vision were both great. I created my own version of the Vision after seeing the movie. What do you expect I am an artist.

The only complaints I have is that they didn’t use Falcon enough in the movie. I thought he would add some good contrast with the War Machine.

As a fan I was high fiving my wife and kids because I am seeing my childhood comic book hero’s come to life.

So I will stand and applaud Marvel studios on their superb work in creating this film for all of us fans.

The Floyd Mayweather Manny Pacquiao fight was the biggest fight financially in boxing history. The thing that makes me shake my head is the business side of the fight. Floyd Mayweather made the most money on this fight than any other fighter has ever made.

I am not going to look at the moral aspect of the allegations or the charges because that has already been evaluated and diced up by all of the media outlets. What I will do is look at the history of the boxing purses and see what some of the top fighters in history have made and how they compare to this fight and what Floyd Mayweather acomplished with his business moves.

I will give this some perspective, Muhammid Ali earned $5.5 million dollars in the George Forman fight. Ali also received $2.5 million in the Joe Frazier fight. This is for the fighter many in the boxing world call the greatest boxer ever.

Another example I will use is Oscar Delahoya. Oscar was a great fighter and he was able to profit on his abilities by managing his affairs and becoming his own promoter. This was a great move for him. His highest purse was $53 million dollars earned for fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Many of us remember Lennox Lewis as the World Heavyweight Champion. He was a Canadian and British Citizen. Lennox Lewis made 30 million dollars in his fight against Mike Tyson. This was a huge amount of money made by a boxer but it pales in comparison to some of the other purses we have seen in boxing history.

Mike Tyson was one of the most explosive fighters we have ever seen! He knocked out most of his opponents in the early rounds. Mike was coveted as a champion because of his fighting style.

For a few minutes he would give you amazing entertainment and many of his opponents were afraid of him because of his incredible power. Mike earned in his largest purse $30 million dollars for fighting Evander Holyfield. He also made another $30 million dollars for fighting Lenox Lewis in 2002.

As I looked at the fighters listed I found Wladimir Klitschko who had won multiple championships. He is the current and reigning heavyweight champion. Klitschko holds the WBO, IBF, IBO and The Ring heavyweight championships. His largest purse was from the fight with David Haye in which he earned $32 million.

Evander Holyfield is one of the greatest boxers in history. He held the world title for almost a decade. His highest purse was in the match with Mike Tyson. He earned $35 million for that fight.

Now that we have some perspective on some of the most profitable fighters in boxing history lets look at what Floyd Mayweather was able to accomplish.

In 2009 Floyd Mayweather made the best business decision of his life because he became his own promoter and this set the stage for all of his future dealings. this led to him getting a much larger pay out for each of his fights. He gave up the money on the front end to profit on the back end. This is something we should all think about. You can get a small amount now or you can wait until later and get a much larger sum of money.

Today we are looking at the results of the mega fight and we see that Mayweather was able to keep the profits in his hands. The purse he received was around $180.0 million dollars. This is more money than any other fighter has ever made. This can go to show some of the young fighters that you can be the cash cow for everyone else or you can take control of your carrier and make the profits for yourself. Movie technology coming to life.

I was thinking about all of the things we see in movies and how art imitates life and that presented a question. What is the likelihood of us getting some of the things we see in the Marvel and DC movies coming to our nearest Walmart or Electronics store?

Let’s start with Iron Man.

Most people have seen the movies that came out a few years ago. They only made over 1 billion dollars. With that being said we know that the character and the technology has been put out to the public and we can’t get enough of it.

Iron Man or Tony Stark was a great inventor who designed and fabricated the Iron Man Armor in a cave to save his life from terrorists. The science behind the movie is real and factual.

Tony stark was a playboy who never took anything serious except creating cool technologically advanced toys. We see this in the comics and on the big screen.

Tony was the ultimate playboy genius who was the envy of every guy and the desire of every woman. The best part about the character is the technology. He was a master at integrating his robotics and the A.I he developed. The best part was the weapon systems that were designed. This is the part that is intriguing because the US Military would love to have many of the inventions displayed in the movie.

Some of the items are already being developed. The cool phone that Stark used in Iron Man 2 to take over the screens and humiliate the Senator who was going after him.

That technology is currently being developed. We aren't quite there yet but very soon we will have the full capability to do many of the things that the phone did in the movie. Have you ever programed you phone or tablet to control your TV or VCR? Well that is the same concept that the movie was playing on.

The next thing I saw on the movie was the way Stark was using his display in his armor to get loads of information. I thought this was fascinating because he had all of the info you could ask for at his finger tips.

I saw this technology in real life in a TED talks episode a few years ago.

This was amazing to me! To see the images I saw in Hollywood come to life was simply mind blowing.

The Atlas robot is an example of the Stark technology coming to life. In our lifetime we will finally be able to see the first man wearing a suit like Iron Man. I can't wait to set my eyes upon the first soldier to wear that amazing tech. We already have Exoskeletons developed for the military.

I don't think we will see the repulsor rays anytime soon. Scientists haven't figured out how to develop an arc reactor so there isn't anything that has power to drive a weapon like that. Another piece of movie magic that I don't think we will be seeing anytime soon is the Helicarrior created by Shield.

This would be a huge feat that would be amazing but not very practical. Who knows, maybe the military is secretly working on a platform that we will see in 20 years.

I had to include the Caped Crusader in this list. Yes, Batman is also a playboy like Iron Man. the difference is that character of Batman would rather punch you in the face before he had a drink with you.

Batman is another fictional character who has some items that could be created. As you can see on the picture displayed above Batman has some gear that we can purchase right now. He also has some items that we couldn't hope to get like the Motorcycle or the All Terrain vehicle he was driving through Gotham in.

I know all of the characters are fake but the science and technology is real and like most of us scientists where kids at one time and they watched all of the same shows. So we will see much of the tech come out in the next 30 years as the developers and engineers graduate college and start working

for tech companies all over the United States.

Remember this Art always imitates Life and Life imitates Art so what we see in movies today will someday become reality in our lives.

Daredevil The Man without Fear

Daredevil the Man without fear.

I heard about the new series produced by Marvel and distributed through Netflix and I was anticipating the date that it would be released. A few days ago I looked in my Netflix account and I saw the headline for the new show. I didn't hesitate I took the plunge and began watching the series.

The first thought I had was “Ok this is kinda slow” then the show began to get progressively better.

It wasn't bad please don’t get me wrong, I was looking for the show to be what I thought it should be as a comic book and movie fan.

Marvel did their homework! They developed the characters and the story with a deft hand and a subtle nudge. They gave you the right amount of action while keeping the acting top notch. They had very very good actors portraying the different characters in the story.

Just in case you didn't know who Daredevil is I will give you a little bit of history on the character. Daredevil is the alter ego Matt Murdock a blind Lawyer in Hell’s Kitchen New York.

Matt was in an accident when he was a child that damaged his eyes. He was exposed to chemicals that gave him heightened senses. He developed a radar sense on top of all of the other senses. This gave him the ability to see in all directions and through and around solid objects. His sense of smell, touch, taste, and his hearing was heightened to superhuman levels. Matt was trained as a child by a man named Stick in many styles of Martial arts. Stick spent a few years training Matt and then one day he left Matt on his own.

Matt’s father was a boxer who was taking dives to make money. He didn't like the fact that he was cheating and making money for the mob. Matt’s father wanted to show his son that he was a winner. He finally bet everything he had on himself for a fight that he was supposed to take a dive in the 5^th round. He won a small fortune and had a friend put the money aside for Matt’s education and care.

Matt went to Columbia and studied law, there he met Foggy Nelson who became his close friend and associate. They graduated and started their Law firm in Hell’s Kitchen.

The Netflix series has many of the characters from the comic book so all of the fans of the comic will be very happy that the story was true to its roots. I can say for myself that the show was very entertaining and it kept me on the edge of my seat. They did an outstanding job in depicting the character and revealing the motivation that lead Matt to put on the mask and become a super Hero.

The Kingpin of Crime was cast very well. they found a very good actor to portray the villain in the story. Vincent D'Onofrio did a great job playing the evil and misunderstood Kingpin.

I did notice that they related the series back to the larger Marvel universe which was great. Marvel is layering the stories and making the TV and Movie series just like a comic book. I think it’s amazing how they have made comic books movies! You can really see the direction they are going in and how they plan on being successful. Marvel has thousands of story lines that are written and they even have all of the action sequences set up. The director can simply go from a comic book and see what he wants to do with the story.

Rosiaro Dawson played the nurse that would put Daredevil back together.

I am excited for the direction they are going in and all of the material that they have to choose from. We often said that it seemed like Hollywood was repeating the same stories over and over again. Well you can’t say that now because they finally understand that a good story can take many forms and using an established fan base ( comic book fans) and adding it to the always popular Kids and family oriented segment. You get huge profits!

Eddie Murphy a comedy Legend

Eddie Murphy is in my thoughts one of our generations greatest comedians.

I have been a Eddie Murphy fan for many many years. The first experience I had was watching Eddie in Saturday Night Live.He had so many characters that he played. His quick wit and dazzling lines kept me laughing at every joke. As my eyes watered and my stomach hurt I craved more of the crazy one liners that he was famous for.

Eddie played Buckwheat in that skit and he was great.

I laughed every time I saw him play this character. As I think back I remember that I wouldn't watch the show unless Eddie was on that particular day.

He had another character he played that was so hilarious. He put his own spin on Mr Rogers neighborhood. This Character was called Mr Rogers. He was a street wise show host who just kept the laughs flowing.

The first really big splash came when Eddie performed in his stand up titled Delirious.

The stand up comedy in Eddie's show was so funny that even today his jokes will bring tears to your eyes. I remember hearing people quote his jokes everywhere. It was funny from beginning to the end. I haven't seen an act that was that funny since. I can't remember one part of the show that didn't have me laughing. If you think about it you probably can't think of one either. This is the classic blueprint for any comedian who wants to be successful.

After the success of the Delirious stand-up Eddie became a household name. He had movie roles coming in and we all could see his star rising in Hollywood.

Eddie had a role in 48 hours and you and I both know he killed it. He was edgy and very very funny in his role as Reggie Hammond. Nick Nolte was his partner and the studio couldn't have done a better job in picking the right team for this movie.

It was a huge hit and the movie opened the door for Eddie to be Hollywood's next leading man.

Eddie began starring in a string of movies that for the most part were incredible.

Coming To America was absolutely fabulous! I can watch that movie every week and not get tired of it. Eddie was great and the best part was that they put together a great cast and the story was one that we never see. Eddie was a Prince who was looking for love. To have the story told from the perspective that they chose made me smile. We also saw the acting genius of Eddie because he played multiple characters in the film and it was amazing.

Eddie had a nice run until Boomerang. I hated this movie because it took my favorite comedian and made him a whipping boy for the starry eyed vixen.

The worst part of the movie was that he broke Halle Berry's heart. The movie was overall very good if you can over look that whole whipped Eddie and destroy Halle thing.

That was the highlight of the cool Eddie. The next group of movies were not as successful as Eddies upward trek to stardom.

Don't get me wrong Eddie did do very well in Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2.

This role was awesome and it was a highlight of Eddies Carrier. Unfortunately Eddie didn't have another movie like this. He had some successful films but he was never able to get back the cool guy/ heart throb image he had before.

Even though Eddie was no longer a heart throb he found a way to reinvent himself into a whole new market.

Eddie took on the role as donkey in the movie SHREK.

Can you say cha-ching? This was a huge win for Eddie in a time where he wasn't as popular as he had been in Hollywood. Eddie played in multiple movies, cartoons, video games, and TV shows as this character.

I applauded Eddie for this change because he showed his ability to be divers and creatively put out his brand of comedy in a new family environment.

He also had the Nutty Professor franchise.

The Nutty Professor Franchise has made close to $300 million dollars. We saw Eddies performance as he played multiple roles again. This time Eddie expanded his multiple roles and nailed it. The Nutty Professor was a hit and it resulted in a sequel. We all know how sequels go so I won't even get into that.

He played James Early and his performance put him in the conversation for an Oscar Nomination. He didn't win the award but he did get the respect of many of the power players in Hollywood.

Eddie hasn't gone back to doing stand up and he is still working on multiple projects. I will always look back on his past roles and his comedic style and smile because to me Eddie Murphy is and will always be a comedy Legend.

The Blacklist

The Blacklist is a crime drama that started in 2013. I just started watching it on Netflix a few weeks ago and I am intrigued. The show has all of the makings of a keeper.

Yeah I know I’m late to the party but with my late arrival I get to watch multiple seasons without worrying about commercial breaks and show stoppages. I think I will approach more shows this way.

I don’t get an opportunity to watch much TV as it stands so the few shows I do watch have to be good.

This show was different because they took a character that was pretty evil and self serving and made him likable. I was amazed at the number of people Raymond killed. My first thought was “This guy is a serial killer” and yet they kept the show going in the same direction.

If you are like me and you haven’t watched the show let me tell you a little about it. Raymond was a Naval Officer who turned to crime and became one of the most wanted criminals in the world.

He turns himself in at the FBI’s head quarters and that’s when the story goes crazy. They decide that they are going to use him for his criminal connections to capture people who are on the most wanted list or the Black List. We are taken through many different specialists who are experts in different criminal fields. One of the surprises in the show for me at least is that Elizabeth Keen is the only person Raymond will speak too regarding his criminal information. We have that story line evolving in the back ground as Raymond systematically takes out all of his competition.

The show has some moments when I had to suspend disbelief, Like when Raymond is found in a suburban home where a house wife is counterfeiting stacks and stacks of bills. That was over the line for me, but being the TV and movie fan that I am I accepted it for the sake of the show.

There are many parts of the show that I had to just shake my head at because of the completely insane claims they made. All in all it is an entertaining show and I still have 2 years worth of episodes to watch just to catch up with today.

Dr Who- A journey through Time

I became a Dr Who fan as a small child many years ago. I would get up and turn my TV to PBS at 6 am and watch the show. I didn't understand anything about the show I just knew that it was interesting. The First Doctor had an insane looking Afro and he wore a scarf.

I thought this was very different and I watched anyway because they were doing things with horrible props and no special effects. I soon stopped watching the show for many years until a few years ago.

I saw an episode on the BBC channel with Christopher Eccleston. I though “This is the Doctor?” I noticed he was a real tough guy and he brought a certain menace with him. My mind went back to that first Doctor Tom Baker and I began to get into the show again.

As I watched I understood what the show was about and I thought that it was great. Time travel, adventures, and saving the world was a great way to start my reintroduction to the Dr Who fan club.

Soon after I got back into the show they killed the Doctor and I was let down.

I thought they had ruined the show, that was until David Tennant took over as the new Doctor! I was immediately drawn into the show and captivated by the new direction the show took. I know it was more of a soap opera and it dealt with a lot of human inter action but it was David’s unique style that intrigued me.

I didn't miss an episode. The show was now part of my normal routine. Each week I would watch the newest episode with joy and wonder.

After a few seasons they decided to kill this doctor off and that was very disappointing to me. I thought that David did a great job as the Doctor and he was made for the role.

The new doctor was more of a scientist than a smooth character like David.

He definitely wasn't a tough guy like Tom. He had his own style that after some time began to grow on me. I soon grew accustomed to the new role and I began to like the Geeky Scientist Doctor. Of course you know what happened. They Killed him! I thought to myself great! Just when I was getting back into the show my Doctor was gone. I am now trying to get into this new Doctor.

I will be tuning to the BBC to see this current version of the Doctor. I won’t get too acquainted because just like all of the Doctors he will only be here for a short time.

You can't talk about the Doctor without discussing his companions.

The great part of the show is that they combined the male aspect of the Doctor with the female companions view. The recipe works great you get the all knowing Doctor who is cool under pressure and the companion who is going crazy with fear and distress at all of the Aliens and Monsters who are trying to kill them.

First on the list is the Darleks.

Daleks are an extraterrestrial race of cyborgs created by the scientist Davros during the final years of a thousand-year war against the Thals. He genetically modified his race (known as the Kaleds), and integrated them with a tank-like, robotic shell. His final modification was to remove their ability to feel pity, compassion, or remorse. The Daleks soon came to view themselves as the supreme race in the universe and began a conquest of universal domination and extermination. Various story lines portray them as having had every emotion removed except hate, leaving them with a desire to purge the universe of all non-Dalek life. Collectively they are the greatest enemies of the series' protagonist, the Time Lord known as the Doctor.

Davros is a master mind enemy of the Doctor who wants to take over the world. He was the creator of the Daleks.

The Sontarans are Humanoid clones who live to fight. The few episodes that I watched with them in the story were funny and a little unnerving. They looked like an army of Napoleons who were bent on destruction.

The most horrifying character in the TV series is the weeping Angels

This character is one that will make your skin crawl.

The Weeping Angels are a race of predatory creatures from the long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who, resembling stone statues. They were introduced in the 2007 episode "Blink", making repeat appearances in "The Time of Angels"/"Flesh and Stone" (2010) and "The Angels Take Manhattan" (2012) as well as cameo appearances in "The God Complex" (2011) and "The Time of the Doctor" (2013). Since their initial appearance, they have been persistently nominated as one of the most popular and frightening Doctor Who monsters(wikkipedia).

As a fan of Science Fiction and all things Tech and Geek I have grown to like the series.

Indiana Comic Con - Indianapolis Comic Con

This weekend was the Indiana Comic Con and I can say that it was truly a memorable event.The first thing I noticed when I arrived at the site was how large the building was. The staff had already set up most of the tables for the Stars and the Vendor sections were ready to go. Once I completed my set up I waited for the horn to sound for the start of the Con.

The crowds were started early. There were many many people waiting for hours for the headliners to show up.

I met Roy Hilbert form the Indiana Pacers

After the Con was started I looked up and to my surprise I saw Roy Hilbert walking down the isle with a camera crew. I had to take a picture with him. Unfortunately it required that I took a trick question test first on camera. That didn't work out so well! I tried to ensure I answered all of the questions correctly but I was unsuccessful. I hope I don't see it on Youtube.

I met an artist who was also working the Con. He is the originator of the Fried pickle comic. We had a great time talking about all of the crazy things that we saw at the show.

You know a Comic Convention isn't worth anything unless you have Chewy show up. It just so happened that I had a wire sculpture made of that character. I jumped at the chance to have him take a picture with my creation.

I looked up and I saw the crazy zombie Uncle Sam so I had to take a picture of him.

This character caught me by surprise. Xorn from the X-men comics. You will hardly ever see this character at a Con. It isn't a very popular character. I will say that the guy pulled it off.

Yes it's the Wicked Witch of the West everyone. I saw this outfit and had to take a picture.I think she did a great job in capturing the essence of the character.

Bane entered the building and I had to get a picture. This guy was huge. He made me look like a little fellow. The first thing I noticed was that his arms looked like tree trunks. I asked Mr. Bane, The Punisher, Star Lord and Hercules If I could take a photo with them and they were very happy to oblige.

Bane asked me if I wanted to fight , I looked him in the eye and said " Any time sport Any time" He changed his mind. ( No that didn't happen just playing)

Storm came by to visit with me.You know I had to have her pose with a wire sculpture of her Cos-Play character.

X-Men inspired sculptures

I have no Idea who this is I just thought that the costume was interesting.

Batman and Cat Woman came by and you know I had to get a photo.

Ghost Rider came in the building and I realized that I needed to create a sculpture of that character. I don't often see anyone wearing a costume of old Ghost rider so it was good to see someone giving the character some love.

I saw this wonderful lady wearing the coolest Tardis dress I had ever seen so of course I had to have her pose with my Doctor Who sculpture and Tardis.

I have no idea who she is or what she is dressed as I just thought it was very classy and it deserved some recognition.

Finding Nemo???? Not too sure, the guy in the green had me laughing. If you are confident enough to paint yourself green and go shirtless in front of thousands of people then I have to give you credit for being bold.

This Cos- Player made everything she was wearing and I thought that was admirable.

This Cos- Play was from a cartoon where the human race was being eaten by giants. The name escapes me but I thought it was good.

When I saw the Fellowship of the rings Cos- Players I had to get them to take a pic with my Legolas sculpture. I don't know where Gimley went but the rest of the team looked great.

This Cos-Player was completely covered in these little x marks. I thought that was true dedication.

This had to be the most amazing person I saw in all of the Con!!!! This gentleman had his eyes tattooed!!! Yes his eyes are actually tattooed. He went to England to have it done. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this ever in my life. I was fascinated I asked him question after question. He actually has a regular job and a girlfriend ( standing behind him) who loves the look. His job has no issues with his eye tattoos or his face tattoo. Amazing!

This Batman Cos-Player was a very nice guy. We talked about his new book found on Amazon.

I saw a few throwback Cos-Players dressed as Batman Villains. I couldn't resist.

It was a great weekend of fun and hard work. I hope that the people who purchased a wire sculpture will put it someplace special in their homes. Now I will have to create many more sculptures for the next show,

I will tell you this, since the Marvel and DC Movies are coming out and we have the Comic Book inspired TV shows on almost every channel the Con attendance is going up. It's finally OK to like comics because Hollywood has made it cool to be a nerd. If you don't believe me check out Big Bang Theory, Scorpions, Numbers and a host of other TV shows centered around the Nerd genre.

Marvel Studios has come up with another great installment of the Avengers franchise. The next movie has been titled Avengers Age of Ultron. Most people who will go to the theaters to watch the movie will not have any idea where the movie originated from.

The movie was inspired from the recent comic book series that was a huge fan favorite.

Age of Ultron (abbreviated AU) is a 10-issue limited series comic book crossover story line published by Marvel Comics that involved the return of Ultron and his conquest of the Earth.

The event was published between March and June 2013 and featured a story line by Brian Michael Bendis. Artist Bryan Hitch provided the art for issues one through five, and Brandon Peterson for issues six through nine. Other artists who contributed to the series include Carlos Pacheco and Joe Quesada, the latter of whom drew part of the final issue

This series was a best seller for Marvel it had record sells and it was a huge hit for all comic book fans. The story was requested by the studios because of the popularity. Another thing to think about is that having heroes destroy robots instead of human beings. This allows the studio to have all of the high velocity action and incredible visuals with out sacrificing the PG rating.

Fans everywhere are excited for the release of this new movie. It will have all of the heroes we have come to know and love while introducing a few more into the fold. We all know about Captain America and Tony Stark and the main Villain Ultron.

Once we get the new movie we will be amazed as always with the great special effects and all of the new advancements in film making. I look forward to the epic battle scenes and all of the action that we have come to expect from the high quality movies produced by Marvel.

One of the scenes that I look forward to seeing is the fight scene with the Hulk and Iron Man. This will prove to be one of the best scenes in the movie. As we know Tony stark can invent anything if he puts his mind to it.

In this case he will be fighting the Hulk the most powerful character in the Marvel Universe.

We don't know why they will be engaged in this epic fight but what we do know is that it will be huge. This fight will prove to us just how strong both characters are.

This movie will be the gate way for Marvels next line of great movie installments. I expect them to be great additions to the Marvel universe. The thing Hollywood has finally figured out is that they have a ready made audience of adults who were comic book fans and cartoon fans as children. Now these children are adults and their kids are becoming fans. This is a perfect storm for Marvel. If they can keep putting out quality material we can expect them to be hits.

We will be given a wonderful treasure of visual splendor when the movies finally hit the theaters. I am not expecting an Oscar winning performance but I am expecting a great movie. As a Marvel fan I will be jumping with joy to see my childhood heroes come to life.

What to expect at a Comic con
Next week I will be displaying my art work at the Indianapolis Comic Con

This will be my very first time at this event and I am very excited to be in attendance. I took a look at the head liners and I was surprised to see Jason Momoa listed as a celebrity guest.

Jason is a huge star he is known for his television roles as Ronon Dex (2005–09) on the military science fiction television series Stargate: Atlantis (2004–09) and as Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011). He also starred as the title character in the sword and sorcery film Conan the Barbarian (2011),and he is set to appear as the DC Comics superhero Aquaman in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the two-part Justice Leaguefilm and a 2018 Aquaman film

Another Star that will be at the show is Carrie Fisher.

She is best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, and will reprise the character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There will be some incredible artists there to include Mike Zack and Jim Steranko.

Star Wars the Force Awakens

The next installment of the Star Wars franchise titled The Force Awakens will be out at the end of 2015. This movie will be directed by J.J Abrams
The Force Awakens is produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Lucas film and Abrams' Bad Robot Productions , and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Second-unit filming began in April 2014 in Abu Dhabi and Iceland, with principal photography taking place between May and November 2014 in Abu Dhabi, Ireland and Pinewood Studios in England.

I am looking forward to this next chapter of the series to be brought out to us. As a Star Wars and Sci Fi Fan I am very happy that we have this next trilogy to look forward to. I have created a few sculptures based on the Star Wars franchise.

This print has Darth Vader , Darth Maul, General Grievious, Boba Fett, and a Storm trooper . I was inspired by the movie franchise to make my version of the characters in wire. I challenged myself to create the best version of these characters that I could. That lead me to the image you see above. Star Wars is a movie franchise that has captivated the imagination of generations and it will go on to inspire millions more people.

Spok is gone! Leonard Nimoy Passes away

I first image I had of the TV show Star Trek was Spok and Captain Kirk talking. I thought to myself that they were a very interesting mix. The out of control play it by your gut feeling Kirk and the Logical analytical Spok. That contrast made the show interesting to me. The science fiction aspect of the show kept me coming back for more and over the years I have come to really appreciate the things that they did together.

One of my favorite episodes was when spoke was in a rage after his mating ritual had started. In this episode you saw Spok displaying his super human strength in ways that were never shown in previous episodes.

The episode went on to have Captain Kirk fighting Mr. Spok to save him in the end. It was one of the more extreme episodes and also one of the most entertaining to me. This was one of the first times we saw the battle techniques of the Vulcan people on TV and it was awesome!

Leonard Simon Nimoy March 26, 1931 – February 27, 2015) was an American actor, film director, poet, singer and photographer. Nimoy was known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek series (1966–69), and in multiple film, television and video game sequels.

Nimoy was born to Jewish immigrant parents in Boston, Massachusetts. He began his career in his early twenties, teaching acting classes in Hollywood and making minor film and television appearances through the 1950s, as well as playing the title role in Kid Monk Baroni. Foreshadowing his fame as a semi-alien, he played Narab, one of three Martian invaders in the 1952 movie serial Zombies of the Stratosphere. In 1953, he served in the United States Army.

In 1965, he made his first appearance in the rejected Star Trek pilot The Cage, and went on to play the character of Mr. Spock until 1969, followed by eight feature films and guest slots in the various spin-off series. The character has had a significant cultural impact and garnered Nimoy three Emmy Award nominations; TV Guide named Spock one of the 50 greatest TV characters.^[3]^[4] After the original Star Trek series, Nimoy starred in Mission: Impossible for two seasons, hosted the documentary series In Search of..., and narrated Civilization IV, as well as making several well-received stage appearances. More recently, he also had a recurring role in the science fiction series Fringe.

Nimoy's fame as Spock was such that both of his autobiographies, I Am Not Spock (1975) and I Am Spock (1995), were written from the viewpoint of sharing his existence with the character.

Star Trek and Mr. Spok have influenced my artwork in a very personal way. I have loved science fiction and all things Star Trek since I was a young child. I will continue to create wire sculptures because it is a part of me and I love it.

This wire sculpture Titled Zang was inspired from my love of Star Trek. I imagined that this character was one of the races of Aliens found by the crew during one of their voyages. This would be a prime example of the wonders of Mr. Spok because he would be the one to devise a way to either communicate with the new race or he would be key in defeating them.

The New Dead Pool Movie is coming

For those of you who didn't know the Dead Pool movie is now becoming reality.
The film will be produced by 20th Century Fox.

Ryan Reynolds has

been cast as the lead in the role ( Thank you very much) We can look for the movie to be released Feb 2016. I can't wait to check it out.

Deadpool (Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional character, a mercenary and anti-hero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer and artist Rob Liefeld and scripted by Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool first appeared in New Mutants #98 (Feb. 1991).

A disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary, Deadpool originally appeared as a villain in an issue of New Mutants, and later in issues of X-Force. The character has since starred in several ongoing series, and shares titles with other characters such as Cable. Also known as the "Merc with a Mouth," Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.( from my friends at wikipedia).

I have been a fan of all of the Marvel Characters since I was a kid and I have taken it upon my self as an artist to recreate every character in wire.
