I think it looks great! I just wanted to ask since I love aviation and hopefully it will generate a little discussion on the topic, but what kind of buyer are you seeking in general for a plane like this? By the way I think the website looks great.

Used Cirrus Aircraft: Time to Pull Up

It is a well known fact, particularly to owners trying to sell their Cirrus, that the market for used Cirrus aircraft has been a flat, and even worse, a declining market. It is currently taking at least 8 months to sell, and some times up to 10 months, for Cirrus owners to sell their aircraft, often at a discounted price. The reasons for this are numerous and open to speculation, but one simple fact is that the airplane itself is worth every penny, but is selling drastically below the actual value. The question is, where is the end to the decline in the market for this aircraft, and how do we stem the downard trend? The good news for all Cirrus owners looking to sell is that a solution to the downward spiral is available right now.

According to our market research at Impression Aircraft Sales, we have identified a key, preventable action being taken by owners that is contributing to the decline in the market. The most common mistake we are seeing is a growing tendency to slash the price for these aircraft, often in response to the same action by another owner with the same aircraft who is growing weary that the aircraft has been listed for sale for three or more months, with little or no interest generated. Generally owners are paying hundreds of dollars per month in listing fees, all with little or no feedback. This obviously, accumulates to a significant financial investment over a brief period of time. Then the owner decides to slash the price ten to fifteen thousand dollars, sometimes even as much as twenty thousand dollars. This prompts other owners following the market to follow suit, and we see the continual decline in the market value of the aircraft, despite the strong value of the aircraft.

The solution is simple, but is often overlooked by many owners. Many of the owners finding themselves enthralled in this race to the bottom have opted against the use of a professional broker. The most common reason we have found at Impression Aircraft Sales is "price". That is certainly a fair and justifiable reason, but in the Cirrus situation, the big picture must be observed to see that the use of a broker can actually "save" and gain a Cirrus owner more money. Obviously this begs the question of "how"? Let's look at the aforementioned scenario. An owner has a 2006 Cirrus SR-22 worth roughly $300,000. If the owner in the example above lists the aircraft on two common aircraft listing websites, he or she will spend as much as $2,000 in listing fees. In addition, by having grown frustrated with the lack of interest his ad has generated, the owner reduces the price of his or her aircraft by $15,000. Now the amount that the owner, who of course elected not to use a broker, will receive for the aircraft is $283,000.

Now had that same owner used a broker, such as Impression Aircraft Sales, the aircraft would list at $300,000. The broker would then pay to list the aircraft, a $2,000 value. The broker would also actively pursue other dealers and brokers representing buyers, something the owner cannot do because of time constraints, thus being relegated to sitting and waiting for the phone to ring. In this more aggressive marketing scenario, the aircraft would sell sooner, at the $300,000 price, thus leaving a 3% commission of $9,000. The owner has now only spent $11,000 and will receive a net of $289,000 for the sale of the aircraft!!!! So a decision to initially save money, actually winds up costing the owner more money, versus the scenario of using a broker.

The bigger picture is now one that begins an increase in the value of the Cirrus aircraft. What a simple decision and action to improve a declining and flat market! This is a win-win for all parties involved. at Impression Aircraft Sales, we look forward to being a part of this reversal in an indutry trend.

Fly Safely!

Gaining Ground

After 2 weeks of contacting potential clients we are starting to gain ground. The biggest obstacle we face is earning trust as a new business and it's difficult to convey the company's competence and integrity over the phone. However, we press on and have confidence in what we are doing and have made deliberate efforts through the design of our website, press release and print advertising to highlight our desire to be a customer-centered aircraft broker.

Impression Aircraft Sales Launch

We're officially open for business January 1st, 2008. We look forward to meeting and serving clients in aircraft acquisition and brokerage. This blog will primarily serve as a means for us to communicate interesting content related to our business and aircraft sales.
