NEW YORK, NY – April 24, 2017 – In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, HBO will debut HBO Asian Pacific American Visionaries, a collection of three short films by emerging APA directors, on May 1st across various HBO platforms. Exploring a range of controversial issues, the award-winning shorts examine crime, addiction and family turmoil within the APA community. Visionaries will be available on HBO NOW®, HBO GO®, HBO On Demand® and HBO Zone® throughout the month of May.

About the films
1. “Monday,” directed by Dinh Thai, follows a young drug dealer who finds himself struggling with the moral implications of his illicit profession.
2. “Wonderland,” directed by Tiffanie Hsu, explores the lonely and surreal world of a 12-year-old girl whose mother (played by Joan Chen) is a gambling addict.
3. “Toenail,” directed by Jingyi Shao, centers around a career-obsessed yuppie having to care for his ailing father on the eve of a major promotion.

The films were the winners of HBO’s first Asian Pacific American Visionaries Short Film Competition, a contest dedicated to discovering and showcasing up-and-coming American filmmakers of Asian Pacific descent. In honor of her late mother Joan Rivers [June 8, 1933 ~ September 4, 2014], Melissa Rivers and Christie's Auction House NYC curated The Private Collection of Joan Rivers. The auction took place from 6~22~2016 - 6~23~2016 Consisting of an impressive collection of Fabergé, fine art, haute couture, antiques, jewelry, and objets d'art. The collection, much like it's collector, is at turns, whimsical, elegant, irreverent, classic.

Ms Rivers was a descendant of Russian aristocracy and many of her acquisitions were done with an eye toward recreating the luxury and opulence of her ancestry. i don't envy Melissa's task of determining which pieces to donate and which to retain. Aside from their priceless sentimental value they are all [monetarily speaking] top drawer.

i do not have the disposable income that would allow me to bid on the items in this extraordinary collection but thankfully the auction house did make them available for public viewing prior to sale. What i refer to as high-end window shopping was very satisfying. And it's wonderful to know that a portion of the sale's proceeds will be donated to charity. Well done Melissa. Well done Christie's. Well done Joan.

i am happy to share the *news that NBC has renewed The Carmichael Show for a 3rd season. In case you haven't seen it The Carmichael Show is one of the funniest on network tv.

It is a fictionalized version of the life of stand-up Jarrod Carmichael and his family. Jarrod stars as Jarrod Carmichael. Amber Stevens West [real life daughter of radio personality Shadoe Stevens] as Maxine, Jarrod's girlfriend. Adorable Loretta Devine as his mom Cynthia. The always funny David Alan Grier as his dad Joe. Chicago stand-up Li'l Rel Howery as Jarrod's brother Bobby. And as Bobby's amiably outlandish wife Nekeisha [they're separated but still friends], triple threat [actress/commedienne/dancer] Tiffany Haddish.

The best thing about this show is it's lack of fear of subject matter. Some of the plots from it's 2nd season were the Bill Cosby scandal. Cyber bullying. social media: what's appropriate and not appropriate to post and who is deciding each. Marijuana: medicinal and recreational use. Racial/ethnic profiling---is it wrong or a crime deterrent? The battle of the sexes. Depression. These and other polarizing topics make up the show's plots and they're always presented in a provocative, but most importantly funny and entertaining way. There aren't many comedies that can make that claim and those that try usually aren't as adept as The Carmichael Show.

No sooner has Sarah caught her breath after a stealthy escape from DYAD and the ruthless clone Rachel (Maslany), she is called upon to face the crazed, captive Castor clone, Rudy (Millen). PROJECT LEDA – GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FEMALE CLONES

SARAH (Tatiana Maslany) is the lynchpin that holds clone club together. Last to know she is a clone, the born outsider is a natural chameleon who’s able to adapt to any new situation she is faced with. But Sarah finally has the family she believes she deserves – a band of clone misfits, intent on finding the truth behind their existence. As she leads the charge to find the truth, and protect those she loves, she learns they are not alone. A new, malevolent line of male clones appear on the scene with unknown intentions. Now, Sarah must fight tooth and nail to keep her family intact and safe from new enemies.

HELENA (Tatiana Maslany), the Ukrainian wildcard, has been newly accepted into clone club. Sarah’s identical twin estranged at birth and raised by nuns in an oppressive and harsh convent, Helena’s feral and aggressive nature makes roguish Sarah look like a wallflower. However, her abusive and neglect-filled upbringing made her easy prey. Kidnapped and impregnated by the clone-hating Proletheans, Helena escaped and found her way back to her ‘seestra’ Sarah. ALISON (Tatiana Maslany) is a most unusual suburban wife. MARK (Ari Millen), one of the newly discovered Castor clones, was a loyal follower of the late Prolethean leader Henrick Johanssen. When the Prolethean Ranch was burned down by Helena, Mark vanished with Johanssen’s waifish daughter Gracie, who he’d fallen deeply in love with. But as one of many male clones created by the military, the question remains, who is Mark? Why was he with the Proletheans? And in the face of this newfound love, where do his allegiances lie?

RUDY (Ari Millen), aka Scarface, is the often brutal and crazed Castor clone with a sleek mohawk and a menacing scar that adds to his intimidating exterior. Raised under the military’s unforgiving supervision, Rudy is a trained master fighter. Possessing a fierce loyalty to his clone brothers that matches Sarah’s conviction, he is ruthless and lethal if put to the test. Just how far is he willing to go to save those he’s sworn to protect?

SETH (Ari Millen) is a mustachioed Castor brother who may not be the sharpest clone in the pack. But what Seth lacks in smarts, he makes up for in obedience to his superiors, and admiration for his elder brother, Rudy — who sometimes uses Seth’s devotion to sway and manipulate him.

MRS. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) is Sarah and Felix’s duplicitous foster mother. A mother hen figure whose compassion is matched only by the ‘hard love’ she dishes out, Mrs. S has also been the caretaker of Sarah’s daughter Kira. Her sole focus was keeping Kira safe from the wild ways and questionable acquaintances of her rebellious mother. But Sarah’s new found family has caused Mrs. S to make decisions to protect Sarah and Kira: trading Helena to Paul and his military network in order to spare them. Remaining connected to an underground organization of activists who don’t shy away from violence when necessary, Mrs. S will need all the help she can get when Sarah finds out what she’s done. What will the ramifications of her decisions mean for the family she’s fought to protect for over 20 years?

KIRA (Skylar Wexler), an anomaly in the Leda clone world, was born of the should-be sterile Sarah Manning. Though much-loved by Sarah and the entire clone family, Kira wasn’t always the center of Sarah’s world. Mostly raised by Mrs. S, she’s now in the middle of the clone conspiracy because Sarah couldn’t have picked a worst time to re-commit herself to motherhood. ART (Kevin Hanchard) is a veteran detective and former partner to late clone Beth who has become unwittingly engulfed in the clone conspiracy. A man who never likes to leave a mystery unsolved, Art was suspended from the force after pursuing the Sarah/Beth case despite repeated warnings to drop it. Now back on the force, Art remains haunted by the loss of his partner Beth, and thus loyal to her ragtag band of sisters.

PAUL (Dylan Bruce) is the late clone Beth’s boyfriend and monitor. An attractive, stoic soldier, Sarah fell into Paul’s arms (and bed) after assuming Beth’s identity. But Paul’s ever-shifting loyalties changed once he became pro-clone Rachel’s monitor and lover. The “softer side” he’d shown Sarah stripped away to reveal a more calculating, deceptive character who is working undercover with the military. Now Paul’s true loyalties have left everyone wondering whose side he’s really on.

COADY ‘MOTHER’ (Kyra Harper) is a driven doctor and advisor to the military who oversees a brood of unhinged killers she treats as her sons. Coady is outwardly the soul of reason, but her maternal, nurturing manner to the Castor boys conceals an agenda that even her superiors do not suspect.

Central to New York’s Mad Men celebration will be a major exhibition at Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI) from March 14 to June 14. Matthew Weiner’s Mad Men, featuring more than 25 iconic costumes, large-scale sets and hundreds of props, video clips, and personal notes and research material from series creator, writer, director and executive producer, Matthew Weiner, will offer unique insight into Mad Men’s origins, and how its exceptional storytelling and remarkable attention to period detail resulted in a vivid portrait of an era and the characters who lived through it. Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust

The Museum of Jewish Heritage will celebrate Mad Men with a public program featuring Matthew Weiner. On Sunday, March 29 at 4pm Mr. Weiner will speak at the museum about the evolution of Jewish identity on Mad Men, in support of their new exhibition, Designing Home: Jews and Midcentury Modernism, which opens March 31.

The bullies from Bay Village Ohio who "pranked" an autistic teen with a fake ALS Ice Bucket Challenge have been identified and may face criminal assault charges. The three teens convinced an autistic classmate to participate in an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. But they had no intention of doing a real challenge. Instead of water and ice, the bullies poured urine, feces, spit, and cigarette butts on the autistic teen. They videotaped and posted the cruel act on social media sites. Ohio native Drew Carey and other celebrities [Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg] offered rewards in excess of $10K to I.D. the bullies. Three teens have been identified.

"Under Ohio law, no person shall knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to another. Physical harm means any injury, illness, or other physiological impairment regardless of its gravity or duration." At this time it has not been determined specifically what charges will be filed against the three who have been identified as the perpetrators. Bay Village Ohio school officials say they will take no disciplinary action until the police complete their criminal investigation. The "prank" did not occur during school hours nor on school property. However if it can be proven the victim's education process has been interfered with, the teens could be suspended and/or expelled.

The school also released the following statement: "Dear Bay Village students, parents, staff and community members: Many of our students and staff members have been participating in fundraising for ALS through the Ice Bucket Challenge. It hurts us deeply to see such a wonderful effort twisted to deliberately cause someone pain. We are supporting our Bay Village Police Department as they vigilantly work to complete their investigation in this case."

Fundraising for the victimized teen has not been limited to celebrities on twitter. If someone were to ask what will i miss most about Joan Rivers i cannot limit my answer to only one thing. i loved her catch-phrases: "can we talk" "oh grow up!" "pick a finger" and my favorite "who are you wearing?" she was a force of nature, with a quick wit and a sharp one when need be. she wasn't perfect, but being true to her brutally frank nature she was as quick to point out her own flaws as she was to catalog others. she was funny. she was brave. she was smart.

When i'd heard the news of Ms Rivers having gone into respiratory and cardiac arrest while undergoing a "routine procedure", an endoscopy, at an outpatient facility, later being rushed to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma---i, despite praying i was wrong---knew to prepare myself for the worst.

As of this posting Yorkville Endoscopy clinic is being investigated by the NYC Department of Health. The NYC Medical Examiner’s Office is also investigating the cause of Ms Rivers’ death.

In the meantime NYC and indeed the world are celebrating the life and mourning the loss of Joan Rivers. May the gods speed her. A private memorial will be held 11:00am Sunday 9~7~2014 at New York City’s Temple Emanu-El.

Late night talk star Seth Meyers is set to host the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast, live coast-to-coast on NBC on August 25.

Television producer Don Mischer — known for steering such big galas as the Super Bowl halftime shows, Olympic Games openings, the Oscars and more — is set to executive-produce the 66th Primetime Emmys. Producing with Mischer will be Charlie Haykel and Julianne Hare.

"Seth's expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at 'SNL,' as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera, makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys," said Paul Telegdy, President, Late Night and Alternative Programming, NBC Entertainment. Primetime Emmy winner Meyers took over hosting duties on NBC’s Late Night in February following Jimmy Fallon’s jump to the Tonight Show. He also voices the character Prock on Hulu animated original The Awesomes, the superhero series he executive produces and co-created with Mike Shoemaker.

Widely recognized as the longest serving anchor on iconic Saturday Night Live segment “Weekend Update," the Northwestern University alum also served as head writer for SNL for 9 of his 13 seasons with the series.

Meyers won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for SNL host Justin Timberlake’s musical monologue in 2011 and has 10 additional Emmy nominations for television writing to his credit. Earlier today, Meyers was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world for 2014.

Things are about to get real steamy for the Ewing family when TNT's Dallas returns with a whole new crop of back-stabbing, double-crossing fun. The hit drama stars Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Mitch Pileggi and Emma Bell, with Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray.

This season has also seen the addition of Juan Pablo Di Pace as a regular cast member and the return of guest stars AnnaLynne McCord, Ken Kercheval, Judith Light, Kuno Becker and Marlene Forte. Produced for TNT by Warner Horizon Television, Dallas will be back to kick off the second half of its third season on Monday, Aug. 18, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

Dallas centers on the Ewing family, which has made a fortune in cattle ranching and oil. Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) is now the family patriarch following the death of his older brother, J.R. Ewing.

The complicated and often bitter relationship between the two brothers can be seen reflected in the relationship between Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), Bobby's adopted son, and John Ross III (Josh Henderson), the son of J.R. and former wife Sue Ellen Ewing (Linda Gray).

The summer run of TNT's Dallas opens in the aftermath of a devastating fire at Southfork Ranch and the unexpected overdose of John Ross' wife, Pamela Barnes Ewing (Julie Gonzalo). Each member of the family struggles to understand what's happened, including John Ross, whose two-timing behavior may have finally caught up with him after Pamela discovered him with another woman. To make matters worse, that other woman is Emma Ryland (Emma Bell), the daughter of Bobby's wife, Ann (Brenda Strong).

Christopher continues to reel after his engagement to Elena Ramos (Jordana Brewster) fell through, and the search for his mother ended with news that she died in 1989. He has found some comfort in a new relationship with Heather (AnnaLynne McCord), a 20-something ranch hand and single mother. But Heather's ex-husband has just returned, bringing turmoil back into her life and the life of her 5-year-old son.

Elena, who grew up at Southfork as the daughter of the Ewings' cook, Carmen Ramos (Marlene Forte), recently learned that the Ewings may have cheated her father out of valuable land by altering the original deed. Consumed with thoughts of justice for previous wrongs against her family, Elena has turned to an old childhood friend, Nicolas Treviño (Juan Pablo Di Pace).

The Ewings' chief nemesis, Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), has done everything he can to bring the Ewing family down, including getting his daughter, Pamela, to infiltrate the family by marrying Christopher. But after an attempt to sabotage an oilrig resulted in injuring Pamela and killing her and Christopher's unborn twins, Cliff suddenly found his daughter turning against him. Pamela helped the Ewings gain a controlling interest in Barnes Global, then settled in for what she hoped would be a happy life with her new husband, John Ross.

Bobby’s wife, Ann, continues to battle with Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi), her scheming ex-husband who claims to be a government informant helping to shut down a drug smuggling operation. Ann also continues to build a relationship with her daughter, Emma, a sheltered beauty who has jumped in bed with John Ross – both literally and figuratively – in a bid to stir up trouble for her father, Harris. Things become even more difficult for everyone with the return of Harris' controlling mother, Judith (Judith Light), who not only owns a controlling interest in her son's transportation business but also runs a high-price prostitution ring.

Dallas premiered in 2012 and finished the year as one of basic cable's Top 10 new dramas. In its third season, Dallas is averaging 3.1 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, with 1.4 million adults 25-54 and 1.1 million adults 18-49. Shot on location in the title city, Dallas was developed by executive producer Cynthia Cidre from the series created by David Jacobs. Serving as executive producers with Cidre are Michael M. AMC’s original Western drama Hell on Wheels, will return for an expanded fourth season of 13 episodes on Saturday, August 2 at 9pm ET/PT. The new season of the series, which stars Anson Mount, Colm Meaney and Common, will air in two parts with the first 10 episodes running consecutively through Saturday, October 4, before taking a hiatus during the network’s annual FearFest programming and returning for the final three episodes beginning on Saturday, November 8.

Hell on Wheels shifted to the Saturday night slot last year to partner with the network’s already successful Western programming on Saturdays, and delivered an average audience of 3.3 million viewers, live plus 3. Additionally, the series nearly doubled (+97%) the network’s Saturday prime average and was +152% higher than the total day average. For season four, the network will once again package the series with favorite Western titles, including the films The Horse Whisperer, Tombstone, and Jeremiah Johnson, and the network premiere of the mini-series Comanche Moon.

Season 3 of Hell On Wheels ended with Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) married to a pregnant Naomi and living in the Mormon fort where The Swede (Christopher Heyerdahl) was impersonating church leader Bishop Dutson; Thomas “Doc” Durant (Colm Meaney) back in control of the Union Pacific Railroad which had successfully expanded westward to Cheyenne; and Elam (Common), gravely injured by a bear while searching for the missing Cullen.

As Season 4 unfolds, civilization makes its way west with the railroad, bringing with it men who attempt to do with their pens what rougher men did in seasons past with their guns. Conflict between government and big business, ranchers, homesteaders and the railroad will continue to define the drama as all of those interests compete with one another for control of Cheyenne, Wyoming, the “Magic City of the Plains” and the most important railroad hub in the country. EXTANT, a new 13-episode serialized drama, is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television. PASADENA, CA; January 20, 2014 -- PBS announced the addition of a British sitcom, VICIOUS, starring Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings) and Derek Jacobi (The King’s Speech) to the summer lineup, premiering Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. ET. The six-part VICIOUS will follow the second season of LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX also starring Jacobi, airing at 8:00 p.m., and a second season of MASTERPIECE MYSTERY! “Endeavour,” starring Shaun Evans, at 9:00 p.m., to round out PBS’ star-studded night of British programming.

Following a rich tradition of British sitcoms known for their broad, boisterous humor, VICIOUS tells the story of partners Freddie (McKellen) and Stuart (Jacobi), who have lived together in a small central London flat for nearly 50 years. Constantly picking each other apart and holding on to petty slights for decades, Freddie and Stuart are always at each other’s throats, cracking snide remarks aimed at the other’s age, appearance and flaws. However, underneath their vicious, co-dependent fighting, they have a deep love for one another. Freddie and Stuart are often joined by feisty best friend Violet (Frances de la Tour, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Ash, (Iwan Rheon, “Game of Thrones”) their young, upstairs neighbor.

This is the first time in its history that the prestigious organization will be utilizing this platform to broadcast the awards show, and it does so in the hopes that audiences around the world will be able to engage in an event which celebrates programs that are known internationally and boast a global fan base.

The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be available for viewing live at www.daytimeemmys.net beginning at 5:00pm on June 22. Emmy® Awards will be handed out for twenty-five categories, including several new ones announced this year.
