I am back!

I'm sure that you must have been wondering as to why this blog was temporarily closed for public. But no worries, now everyone can access this blog again.

I have so many stories, but let the following season's greetings be the first posting after a quite-long-hibernation, coz I find it hillarious!

A colleague of mine (we are currently handling an arbitration case together) sent the team of lawyers a season's greetings. Normally, season's greetings will be in the form of picture or e-card, but this one is different.

He perfectly portrays us, the lawyer, very well. So he sent us the following email:

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends and colleagues, but it is so difficult in today’s world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on their advice I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practised with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or raditions of others, or their choice not to practise religious or secular traditions at all.

I am so happy to hear that my some of maid of honors will tie the knot soon! I am grateful to hear that my wedding can encourage them to finally step into the next level of relationship. And I am sending them a sincere prayer for a smooth preparation until the big day.

If you ask me how does it feel to be married? Then let me tell you that I am sooo happy. There is no word that can probably explain the joy of being married. It’s always nice to find my hubby at home accompanying me. Sharing stories before we go to bed, creating plans for our future, getting more new friends (because his friends are now my friends as well, lol). So yeah, we are blessed.

I even tease my friend and proclaiming that the current trend is being young, successful and taken! lol.

And I hope you can find the one soon, dear readers :)

Ode to Peace

If you wonder what on earth will be happening on February, 19th as shown below, then let me proudly announce that February 19th will be the day when my new single for the second album will be launched :)

I am so happy to announce this because the song is so beautiful, which I created sometime in the past December 2010. The title is "Ode to Peace" and yes the title speaks for itself. It actually talks about my sincere wishes and prayers for peace. You must have realized how the world and Indonesia particularly is suffering from hatred, war, and chaos. And I must say that I regret for such incidents. So I really hope that my music can somehow give a contribution to peace and people endorse it.

Please also bear in mind that you can download my song FOR FREE!! Yes, when other musicians are making their songs commercially, I would instead share my work for free. This song is a suggestion of peace and thus I believe that it should not be spread commercially.

Wedding Review : My Beautiful Sacred Holy Matrimony

Let me begin this post by mentioning one beautiful words from Shakespeare, which I quoted in the cover of my wedding reception invitation card:

My bounty is as deep as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee
The more I have for both are infinite

I can't say more except by being grateful for what has been blessed to me. In the past 19 December 2010, I and Ruly finally tied the knot! It was a beautiful, sacred holy matrimony! I can't describe how much I am so relieved and grateful for this. I never thought that I will be meeting my half-me soon, but yes darling, when destiny plays its role, supported with sincere prayer, God will eventually blesses you soon :)

And this is the story of our journey...

The preparation

The holy matrimony itself was held in my house. I was wearing a white-gold combination kebaya with the accessories from Ardelya Scarf (remember about my post HERE, which informed you the special gifts from Ardelya?) and Hijab Modesty, my own boutique. A fresh white lily was also made as one of the accesories since I love lily sooo muchoo :)

The Arrival

Ruly brought 20 cars of family and relatives! It was massive! He looked so nervous, lol.

The Akad

I did not sit next to Ruly until the Akad was finished. As a requirement, Ruly asked to listen to my voice reading the holy Quran in order to convince him that it was me behind the curtain. Once the Akad was done, I showed off my self and then sat next to him. It was a sacred moment. You can never imagine the nerves and the happiness exploding in your stomach.

The Mahar

Mahar is the bride's request to the groom. My mahar itself is unique as they are all white gold jewellery with butterfly shape. I love butterfly. This is one of the mahar. My beautiful white-gold-butterfly bracelet.

The Traditional Ceremony

You see, Indonesia is a very beautiful country enriched with various customs. As I and Ruly are Sundanese, we also held our traditional ceremony after the akad.

The Happiness

We did not invite much of our friends to our holy matrimony since we are still going to have another wedding reception afterwards. But we're so happy that our closests friends were able to attend the holy matrimony.

My three sisters were using baju kurung with green-orange-gradation from my boutique, Hijab Modesty. They all looked stunning!

Another Costumes

Aside from wearing white and gold costume, I also wore another two different costumes. The silver with black velvet combination kebaya and the green and gold kebaya. I love the green one sooo much! And of course, still with lily! :)
I am sooo relieved that the matrimony ran well. Now we are still preparing our wedding reception. The theme for my upcoming reception is gold with marron embroidery. Still crossing our finger, hoping everything runs smoothly!!

Kimi, the little lion

Kimi is a half-kampong half-persian cat. We adopted Kimi when he was still 2-3 months. As you can see from the pics, Kimi transforms from a little pussy cat into a little lion. Everybody loves Kimi. He always wakes my mom up at 3 am for a midnight prayer. We love you, Kimi :)

"I'd like to register this power of attorney please" said me to the officer.

"Aah you are representing foreign entities" his eyes got wider while he was carefully reading the power of attorney.

Yes, so? Of course I didn't say that. That's my concious speaking.

"Uhm, how long does it gonna take to register this?"

"All I have to do is just fixing a chop here and then ask for the chief's signature" he said while winking his eyes. "Just wait here"

I looked into the surrounding of the room. A flat tv is showing an HBO program. Yes, a flat tv with HBO program inside the room. Hmm.. aren't you supposed to be working??? Hello mam, over there, and you, yes mam, over there. Oh gosh!!

The fat tall officer came back into the room. He said "wait, ya".

He then looked into my fingers. "What a nice ring. But it must have been nicer in my partner's finger" said he while winking to his female colleague besides him.

"Of course it is!! This is from my friend and she's dead!!" I said straight forwardly. And of course I was lying.

A few minutes later the power of attorney was already completed with a signature and chop.

"How much?" I asked him.

" Rp. 100.000 for each" he said while showing his ugly teeth.

And of course I knew that there is no formal administrative cost here. My money will go straight into his pockets.

While I really do want to punch his ugly face, I did not do that. Instead I gave him the money and got out of his room.

And I hate the fact that I will always deal with him everytime I want to register my power of attorney. Oooh, so sickening!!!

Isnt' it ironic?

Office is open only half-day today. But then again, as a lawyer, office hour is only a formality as we are not bound to it. We are bound only to billable hours. The more we bill, the happier we are, teehee :D

Anyway, a colleague of mine came to my room just now and asked me what do I do as the last project in today's last day of the year. I smiled to her and answered:

"My last work today in the last day of 2010 is serving someone a demand letter"

She was laughing hard and replied me 'so ironic!!'.

I know, I know. Instead of doing good deed, I ironically serving someone a demand letter. But then again, a lawyer gotta do what I lawyer gotta do. And I believe what I am doing is defending my client. So if you see it from other perspective, I am doing a good deed here! lol.

So anyway, in this last day of 2010, I wish to sincerely express my gratitude to what has been blessed to me in this past one year. 2010 has been a great great great year. But of course, the best part is when I found my half-me to complete me (read:husband). Yes, I am officially taken!!! Woohoo. And seriously, it is soooo nice to have someone to take care of you day by day. Alhamdulillah...

In addition, it is also important to have a self-observation (read:introspection) for a better year ahead. And I hope I can be a better person in 2011.

I really love their shinning shawl because this type of scarf has this glitter all over the shawl and it really looks elegant when you wear it! You can also check out their special wedding scarf. It's sooo beautiful! And oh, I also love their magnet scarf! Magnet scarf is basically pin, no correlation with magnet at all, lol, but they are gorgeous!! You can put them on your headscarf to sweeten the scarf or even on your clothes!

I totally agree with Ardelya's concept. This fashion line does not only serve you with glamorous and beautiful products but also the spreading of the message of 'modesty'. It really opens my eyes as a moslem who wears headscarf that we can also be stylish without reducing our religious value.

Now, Vonny has been so kind to me that although we barely know each other from Facebook, we managed to get together last Saturday when she had a chance to visit Jakarta. And the surprise part is that she gave me a very beautiful and gorgeous wedding scarf accessories special for my wedding!! When I showed it off to my mom and stylist, they were all drooling! lol.
