So, you've decided to get that cool tattoo design. But in order to do that people need to be educated to identify the difference between a good tattooist and a bad one and grabbing a few tips before actually plunging in to the world of body art.
Firstly research the tattoo shop or artist you want to go to. If your country or state have established safety and permit procedures, be sure to choose a licensed shop.
People have different pain tolerances so consider how you will treat that pain. Topical anesthetics are sometimes used for cosmetic tattooing and are offered by many tattoo shops. Topical anesthetics that can be applied to broken skin if it is getting sore that finishing the tattoo would be unbearable.
One of the things that is common now days at most tattoo shops is you walk into the shop and there is usually design sheets all over the walls to assist you with your design, most of the time these design sheets that you see on the walls aren't produced by the people that work there. Some other custom shops display exclusive art work by the artists that work there only.
Having designs that correspond to the person's anatomy is very important as opposed to tattoos that look like stickers. Be careful when choosing the design of your new tattoo because you will live with it all your life so resist the urge to strut the latest fad and select a tattoo design that has meaning to you.
When you finally decide on that cool tattoo design choose an tattoo artist who comes recommended, see there work on someone who has used them.
After getting a tattoo done you should know some aftercare hygiene tips that ensure the safe healing of your tattoo. If you go to a good tattoo shop than the tattooist will clean and apply antiseptic ointment to the tattoo while creating it. This is the healthiest way to make a tattoo. After all that is done the tattooist will explain to you how to take care of your new tattoo or he will give you a sheet with detailed instructions. Be sure to wash your hands very well before touching the new tattoo to avoid infection.
Nautical stars have a long history in the world of tattoo designs dating all the way back to the early sailors, hence the name , nautical star tattoos.

There has been much controversy and heated discussion regarding the meaning nautical star tattoo and significance of nautical star tattoos and design, the history, meaning and symbolism of these tattoos has been open to many interpretations. Historically most everyone agrees that sailors were the first people to get such star tattoos.

Lesbians usually wear these tattoos on the inside of their wrists, the tattoos have become more visible in this group and they are often presented as a sign of solidarity with the lesbians from different ages that were oppressed for their sexual preferences. Nautical star tattoos also appear on the elbows of punk fans that consider this tattoo to indicate the north as a symbol of home, a concept that is closely related to the North Star that guided the sailors home.

Welsh Red Dragon Tattoos

A symbol with a rich and ancient heraldic past, the Welsh dragon tattoo design contain a fascinating history - just one of the many reasons it makes such a wonderful and powerful tattoo symbol that represents Welsh heritage.

The red dragon and dragon art tattoos has been prominent in the folklore of most cultures, so many physical characteristics are present or absent in great variations around the world and include combinations of numerous animals. The Welsh national flag has a dragon on it it has two equal horizontal stripes, white above green, and a large red dragon passant. The dragon standard was perhaps first seen in Britain in the shape of the "draco" a standard carried by the cohorts of the Roman legion. There are many adaptations of this dragon ranging from ones that looked exactly like the Welsh flag to more stylized versions.

Folklore says that the red dragon represents Wales and the white dragon represents the invading Saxons.
In the end, both dragons get drunk with mead and are buried in the center of the island of Britain, at Oxford, in a stone coffin. The white dragon comes to symbolize death, with its absence of color, and the red takes on the role of anger. In Arthurian legend, Uther Pendragon, the father of King Arthur, was supposed to have used the dragon as his symbol in war. Even today, the Wesh red dragon is a part of the coat of arms of the Prince of Wales.

In later Christian iconography, the dragon appears most often as a symbol of the devil. It can be very important to understand the meaning or symbolism behind dragon art tattoos or the Meaning of Celtic Knot Tattoo so you, your friends, your clients, or anybody for that matter, knows the symbolism of their Welsh dragon tattoo designs before selecting one.

To choose welsh dragon tattoos or any dragon art tattoo that is symbolic of a particular culture it may pay to research and just inform yourself of its significance so you can discuss it with people who inquire about your Welsh Dragon Tattoos.

Getting the Right Zodiac Tattoo Designs

When you are looking for the right zodiac tattoo designs, there are many different choices in front of you. You will want to think about what style you want them in, how you want the design depicted and how you will tie it together on your body. When you are looking for tattoo designs of zodiac sign, you'll find that the first thing that you need to think about is the general design, so keep the following tips in mind.

The first thing that you need to think about is who or what you are trying to represent. For instance, if your mother is a Gemini, how can you make sure that the Gemini twins symbol is one that ties to her both in theme and in style? For instance, if she loves traditional art, you might find that an old Gemini tattoos would look great, while if she has a more spare design philosophy, you can choose the design of the Gemini tattoos that looks more like a single character or sigil.

When you are shopping around for zodiac tattoo designs, you'll find that you can choose a number of different ways to go about it. First, you have the very plain but striking line work that represents the zodiac; the waves that represent Aquarius and the arrow that represents Sagittarius are two that spring to mind. You may find that you prefer to look at the constellations that the zodiac signs are drawn from, and choose to create a stellar array on your body. You may also choose to get a very cartoonish representation of the zodiac sign, like a cute lion for the Leo tattoo. It's all about your preferences and what you are wanting the tattoo to represent. The scorpion tattoos are very popular for those born under this star sign,
and allow enough room for artistic flair.

If you are looking for zodiac tattoo designs, you may also take a look at zodiacs from different countries. For instance, while you might be an Aries in the Western zodiac, you might also be a sheep or a dog in the Chinese zodiac. The Eastern zodiac comes with all sorts of designs for the twelve animals that make it up, so you can choose to get a lovely zodiac animal tattooed on yourself, or a distinctive Chinese character.

When you are searching for zodiac tattoo designs, the important thing to remember is that you should not get the tattoo until you find a design that you enjoy. There are many different tattoo designs of zodiac sign out there, but make sure that you get the zodiac sign that will suit you the best. Take the time to look at plenty of great zodiac tattoo designs before you make your decision.

Where Can I Design My Own Tattoo Online

So you want to get 'inked'? Well before you jump in head first, there are some things you need to deeply consider before the first needle touches your skin.

How to choose tattoo designs:
Getting a tattoo is an important decision. It involves more than just picking a cool picture from a wall, book, or website. What you put on your body will be there for a LONG time. Your ENTIRE life. So,
it's absolutely vital that you choose your tattoo designs wisely and take into consideration every single aspect of the whole tattooing process including examining your motivation for getting a tattoo! This is
NOT like getting a bad hair cut. Hair will grow back, but you're stuck with your skin all your life!

Before choosing a tattoo design, it's best to consider and think about what your interests are. Think about what inspires you? If your answer is love consider getting a tattoo that includes a heart. Or, maybe you have a passion for fast cars. There are many different styles of cars to choose from, it
just takes going through a long list of auto designs to find out which suites you. Knowing what you like will definitely narrow your search.

Choosing the best tattoo studio, or parlor that fits your specific needs is a very important first step to getting the right tattoo done right. But how exaclty do you go about deciding on the best one to
go for? Here's a tip - have any of your friends or relatives that have had a tat done that looks good? Ask them who and where they went to for their tattoo. Then investigate this place for yourself just to be
sure. Keep in mind that you don't always have to go with the first studio you visit! Look around. Be choosy. There's plenty of time to get your first tattoo, so DON'T RUSH IT! Take your time and make the best choice based on your findings.

Maori tattoo art and traditional Maori tattoos are so incredibly unique; these particular traditional maori tattoos have their own identity and meaning among the Polynesian culture. Maori is a tribe that came from Polynesia to New Zealand. The word Maori is defined in the dictionary as to be "ordinary", "natural" or of the "normal". These Maori tattoos are anything but normal or ordinary. In fact, they hold such meaning and tradition that it is thought among the Maori people to be insulting to have a Maori tribal tattoo of this nature, outside of the Maori families or tribes.

Maori tattoo art is beautiful, bold and painful! The Maori tattoos consist of multiple designs placed over the entire body. They are beautiful shapes, symbols and dark, distinct patterns. Fabulous spirals are among the most common seen. Most Maori people will place these beautiful designs on their face, buttocks and legs. In the Maori language, these beautiful tattoos are called "Ta Moko" in the Maori tribe, which means to strike or tap. Traditional Maori tattoos are carved into the skin with a small chisel instead of punctured into the skin by a needle like we see now.

The Maori men generally have these designs tattooed over their entire body. The Maori women generally are tattooed on the lips, chin, back and neck. The tattoo is done with a chisel made of bone or animal tusk and takes hours, even years to complete. Today when someone has a tattoo like this done, it can take up to a year to complete.

Interestingly enough, the tattoo ink comes from a common vegetable substance and the other portion is from the caterpillar. The black tattoo ink that is commonly used for the face is made of wood that is heavily burned. Maori tattoo art usually will start around adolescence for the boys, and is used to celebrate a milestone event or series of events throughout their life, representing childhood into their adulthood.

Maori tattoo art and Maori traditional tattoos is still very much a common practice and gaining greater popularity in New Zealand today and many celebrities have adorned themselves these tattoos.

Popular Designs For Tongue Tattoos

Tattoos are a hot fashion statement these days, becoming more and more popular than they have ever been in the past. There are hundreds and thousands of different designs and styles of tattoos to choose from, giving you the chance to express yourself. Although tattoos are very popular, the new trend that is rapidly taking effect in the world of tattoos is known as tongue tattoos.

Many people aren’t familiar with tongue tattoos yet, they are just now starting to take shape. They resemble other designs and styles, although they cover the muscle known as the tongue. There are tattoos that cover the entire tongue, or just a single area. In most cases, those who already have them, chose to have their tongue tattooed a certain color. Whether it be purple, orange, black, or blue, the tongue can be tattooed a variety of different colors.

The designs that are poplar with tongue tattoos include stars, tribal work, and other shapes and designs that cover a region of the tongue. Stars are popular with the lower area of the tongue, near the tip. There are also designs that can be tattooed farther back on the tongue, near the middle of it. As tongue tattoos become more and more popular, more and more designs are implemented.

As far as the procedure goes, it’s very similar to getting a tattoo on any other part of your body. A tattoo involved needles puncturing the skin, depositing ink into the epidermis. The needles move extremely fast, breaking the skin and leaving the pigments of ink. The tongue, just like the skin, will swallow the pigments once the surface has been punctured by the needle. Once the pigments of ink are absorbed by the tongue, the color will remain there forever.

Those who have had tongue tattoos in the past say that they aren’t very painful. Unlike tattoos on the skin, the tongue is a giant muscle. A tattoo on the tongue is often described as a tickling sensation or the feeling of numbness in your mouth. When the tattoo artist does the tattoo, he will normally use a tool to hold the tongue out. If you’ve ever had a tongue piercing, you’ll know what it looks like. Once the tongue is out, the artist will begin work. The process normally does take very long, as long you hold still and don’t move around.

If a tongue tattoo sounds interesting to you, the first thing to do is find a tattoo artist in your area who is experienced with doing them. Not a lot of tattoo artists are familiar with tongue tattoos, as they are just now beginning to surface. A tongue tattoo is a bit on the creative side – something that you just don’t see in public everyday.
