89-year old Jane Smith of LaSalle died Friday at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Private graveside services were held in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in LaSalle. Arrangements were entrusted to Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home in LaSalle.

Dr. John Armstrong

88-year-old Dr. Jack Armstrong of Ottawa died Thursday at his home.

Private family services will be Tuesday at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Jack was born in 1928 to John and Vera Armstrong. He was a veteran of the United States Army and practiced dentistry in Ottawa for 55 years. Jack also provided dental care to inmates at the Sheridan Correctional Center.

He married Billie Balocchi in 1955. Jack is survived by his children John of Ottawa, Cindy Lockas of Ottawa, Julie Donahue of Iowa City, Brad of Ottawa and Sally Cooper of Ottawa; also fourteen grandchildren.

98-year-old Clarence Trovero of La Salle died Monday in his home.

Funeral service is Saturday at 11 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Entombment will be private at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation is Saturday from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home.

Clarence was born in 1917 to Lawrence and Matilda Trovero. He first married Thoma and then married Yuba Fleming until her death and then married Peg Russ-Thompson. Clarence worked at Libby Owens Ford.

He’s survived by his son Michael of California; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday at 10 at St. Valentine Church. Burial will be in St. Valentine Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 9 until service time at the church.
