I love, love, love these pieces of shoe art from the Prada Spring Summer 2012 footwear collection! The Hot Rod Flaming Shoes were inspired by vintage American racing cars popular in the 1950s. The cute tail light gives an added oomph to the already ultra sexy stiletto. And because they are both in fiery red, I'd be willing to wear them in a heartbeat! #wishlist

One of the most common concerns of women undergoing the normal course of pregnancy, apart from the usual hormonal and emotional changes, is getting stretch marks. But most of us are well aware that this skin dilemma can affect anyone regardless of age or gender, and does not exclusively affect pregnant women. At one point in our lives, we experience it whether due to the growth spurt brought about by adolescence, weight gain or other factors that significantly stretch or tear the skin beyond its limit, leaving unsightly and stubborn vein-like marks and scars in the process.

Some say you’re born with it-- if your mother has it, then there’s a good chance you’ll get it too.On the other hand, some are able to maintain their flawless bellies even after a full term pregnancy, and attribute it to their lucky genes. Well regardless of which type one belongs to, the reality we normally believe is that these can be hard to eliminate, especially if it had already passed the early stage where it could have been remedied or prevented. It can stay with us for life.

It is a relief that there are more ways available now to get rid of stretch marks. Aside from the age old remedy passed on to us for generations-- to regularly and generously moisturize the affected area with Cocoa butter, Shea butter, vitamin E or any rich oil-based creams and lotions, the more stubborn stretch marks can benefit with the help of advanced formula creams that also lighten and fade discolorations. Dressing Up Barbie: Pink and Print

I finally had the nerve to sign up for a Lookbook account some time ago, with no intention of posting my own photos (but those of my Little Lady), only to read afterwards in the fine print that photos of kids are not allowed. Well, technically she is not a kid anymore but a 'tween' (almost teen, but not just yet), but that doesn't help either.

Great.

If now had been 10 years ago, I wouldn't bother-- or rather, I'd be shameless to post my own style and look. But the thought of a full body shot of myself now, makes me cringe. I have long accepted that there are certain things that I could no longer pull off at this age and shape, that's why until I get back to my ideal body (that could realistically take years), in the meantime, I am coursing all my styling energy to my little Barbie.

We did this photo shoot one gloomy weekend instead of going to the mall. Surprisingly, the activity turned out to be more fun than we expected, so I told her we're going to do it everytime she gets a new set of clothes.

For this look, I let her wear a leopard print stretch tube top (originally a skirt), black cotton vest, hot pink skinny jeans and pink glittery sandals. Accessories include big pink sunglasses, necklace with red boot pendant and pink flower ring and earrings.

Kobi Levi is making waves and raves all over the world, thanks to his one-of-a-kind shoe designs. For somebody who appreciates art, owning a pair of Kobi Levi original would be an honor and an artistic pleasure, for it's like owning a masterpiece.

Kobi Levi graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem in 2001. A freelance designer, he specializes in footwear design and development. He collaborates with both Israeli and international companies, and is currently working on his women shoe line in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He designed commercial footwear in Italy, China and Brazil.

"In my artistic footwear design the shoe is my canvas. The trigger to create a new piece comes when an idea, a concept and/or an image comes to mind. The combination of the image and footwear creates a new hybrid and the design/concept comes to life. The piece is a wearable sculpture. It is "alive" without the foot/body. Most of the inspirations are out of the "shoe-world", and give the footwear an extreme transformation. The result is usually humoristic with a unique point of view about footwear. Another aspect of the creation is the realization. All the pieces are hand-made in my studio. The challenging technical development is the key to bring the design to life in the best way." - Kobi Levi

When I Grow Up...

Do you still remember when you were still a kid and adults ask you, "what do you want to be when you grow up?" I bet most of you answered that you want to be a doctor or nurse, without batting an eyelash. Every kid I know during my childhood dreams to wear white- to be in doctors' uniforms or nursing uniforms. Well, when you are child, it doesn't really matter. You just discover the specifics later in life. Whatever catches your fancy, is magic!

That dream wasn't for me, though. Even as a small girl, I'm not fond of following trends. Either I make my own, or I choose the 'road less traveled'. And while everyone else is raving about curing, nursing, and making people well in their mini custom made scrubs, I visualize myself as a police officer- riding a motorcycle, chasing outlaws and making the world a safer place. My career choice then didn't really come as a surprise because my father is a military officer, and that explains my amusement with being a defender and law enforcer myself.

Although I did not pursue the medical profession, I am surrounded by friends and relatives who have the heart and passion for the vocation. I’m really happy to see them reach out and touch the lives of others, while fulfilling their dreams. I always pray for them because I believe it takes a lot of patience and dedication to serve others. This way, I am able to partake in their mission even without a hospital scrub uniform to express my intention.

"I was never allowed Legos as a kid, so in a way, this was like going back to childhood. I got to act like a big kid while still creating art."

"I like the idea of taking something serious like a pair of plain stilettos and turning them into something artistic and beautiful. The use of Legos is a throwback to youth." Stone said.

I know I haven't had a real post for a while. I mostly upload sale alerts, when I don't have much time to blog (which happens very often, huh). And although I always take photos of what I intend to write about, they usually end up sitting in my overloaded hard disk, waiting to be posted.

While I was trying to 'organize' my files today, I saw photos of last year's School of Fashion and the Arts (SOFA) Design Institute exhibit in Rockwell, Power Plant Mall, entitled SOFA Speaks on the Power of Invisible Ideas.

The Little Lady and I enjoyed the creative displays. So even a tad late, here are some snap shots of the exhibit:
