And the scary thing is, this isn't the worst thing I've seen on his blog.

After he got torched by Russert on Meet the Press earlier this month, Edwards would be better off on Fox News. Considering all the pro-war statements he made before the Iraq War, he'd fit right in with Roger Ailes and Sean Hannity.

His change on the Iraq War makes him the next John Kerry; the combination of blogospheric rhetoric and dark horse allure makes him the next Howard Dean. Notwithstanding his own performance three years ago, he represents everything that went wrong for the Dems in 2004.

Watching Sunday's podcast (video podcast, no less) of MTP, they had a review of the presidency of Gerald R. Ford. Arguably, he's the only POTUS since Eisenhower that one could never talk bad about without sounding like a soulless jerk. The Pardon was doubtless political suicide, but necessary for the country (something that wasn't acknowledged in the 1976 election--his opponents were too busy screwing up Congress to realize his foresight).

Well, the rossobiancoazzuri didn't make it to the Round of 16...I must admit, though, Ghana deserved to stay alive after winning against the Czech side and had the momentum heading into the last game.

However, who would take up the slack? Who will play role of English-speaking, British colony emeritus that couldn't careless about soccer yet somehow overachieves on the quadrennial world stage known as the World Cup?

APM's Weekend America, flag burning was unanimously declared "low-brow" in its monthly "high-brow/middle-brow/low-brow" feature. Mind you, the flag burning amendment movement was also low-brow, but hearing someone on public radio say "I lived in the People's Republic of San Francisco...and people burning the American flag generally don't have anything interesting to say" made me cry with joy.

I've had the chance to catch up on my podcasts, especially those of Meet the Press from the past month or so...

Props to Tim Russert for not giving Pelosi an easy time with her interview a couple weeks ago, reminding her that House Democrats put the "fun" in dysfunctional. He pretty much gave the GOP the only point they need to make when campaigning (should it choose to be negative)--Democratic Majority = Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers.

In the beginning, a group of proteins and sugars came together. Long story short, out of this soup, the kingdom of mammals--of which I am a part--governed by a code of nucleic acids managed to survive to a high level of development. Luckily, even though only a small percentage of this code is actually useful, useless code just happened to insert into the genome without disrupting the production of proteins necessary for existence. Luckily, despite the presence of millions of asteroids located in our cosmic neighborhood, organisms were allowed to pass this code along and mutations kept accumulating until primates came about. Luckily, one of these mutations just happened to result opposable thumbs, which gave an advantage to a rather frail fellow. Luckily, he gained enough higher brain function to able to make tools capable of killing animals significantly stronger than himself. Thus, a weak freak of nature established dominion over his world.

Don't get me wrong, all of this is plausible--I'm not trying to discredit evolution. But something which owes it existence to a string of coincidences surely doesn't have the right to worship itself. People don't necessarily need religion, but, for crying out loud, need to accept their place as the result of 4.6 billion years of evolution.
