I love the Givenchy gown! Seams like lace is back in fashion stronger than ever before.

Today I want to introduce to all of you a wonderful artist. We are all familiar with Richard Grieco the actor... but do you know Richard Grieco the artist?

If you love art, colors, expressive emotions this art will inspired you. As an artist myself I understand how hard it is to translate emotions, feelings and state of mind on canvas.

Richard's Art is familiar close to Pollock who to me is a very important element in art and very expressive. Art is about purity, emotions and originality. Richard Grieco shows a new way of expressing expressionism. Pollock was the beginning of abstract expressionism and changed our thinking and made us go beyond. Richard's Art is a new level of expressionism, an expressionism that goes beyond abstract. It's emotional, has duration and consistence. You the art buyer, admirer ,or fellow artist ... you are the judge of his art.

I did not get the chance to interview Richard face to face but via Twitter everything is possible!

I started to communicate to Richard a while ago, because I discovered his paintings.

Today I want to introduce to all of you a wonderful artist team from Spain Ruiz Stinga.

Please introduce yourself... Who is Ruiz Stinga?

Ruiz Stinga is a team of two, an illustrator ( Santi Ruiz) and a graphic designer ( Carine Stinga). We've been working together in our little studio based in Barcelona ( Spain) since 2009. We are already a couple and a family, living with our sons and currently expecting the third one.

Congratulations! :)

Usually our line of work and commissions involves branding, editorial design, web design and so on. During our career, we've also developed illustrations, for educational posters or purely ornamental, such as the ones applies to aprons.
We love our trade and we enjoy doing it. To make a living out of it is tae big challenge, but it is absolutely rewarding.

What made you open and Etsy shop?

Illustration and design is not an occupation that we do from 9 to 5, it is actually our hobby and our most treasured vital space. We love beautiful things.
Since working under commission means to follow some guidelines and be stuck to many schedules, the need to create randomly was always a vital necessity.
And so, when the workload diminished ( and with the crisis in Spain it was meant to do so), we left our computers and picked up a pencil, some scissors, felt, imagination and a great quantity of fun and the result is what we can see in our shop.
The last decision, to sell those creatures, was made to give them a place to live and be seen by the world.

How do you promote your designs?

We are actually new sellers in Etsy and so our promotion by now is via facebook and friends. We also love this huge Etsy marketplace and take a lot of time browsing to discover items, crafters, artists, and beautiful things. We favorite items, shops and add artists to our circle. To be active in the community is one way to promote your shop, as well as to engage in teams of your interest.

What is your advice for fellow artists?

As an advice, since we are already in our first steps, I can repeat what I've been said by a mom at school
( already an Etsy seller) :
- Keep your shop growing
-Do not upload your items at the same time. For searching purposes, feed your shop constantly, little by little
-Show your proposals to bloggers and if it's possible try to be featured in as many as possible. That will give your shop visibility.
-Interact with the community.
-Be part of the teams and be active.
-Take the most amazing pictures you are capable to achieve. Items mostly sell by the eye.
- Browse for similar items to see how they are described and which keywords are used.
-Take your time to go through the Etsy Sellers Manual, it is packed with relevant information.
-Do not expect immediate result. Keep it as a hobby and enjoy doing it. This will be your way to success.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

That is a tricky question. Since we do it as a hobby and are here with a pure, childlike approach, enjoying and doing it for the sake of going it.
Actually, ''the future" right now is our third son who is due for February 2013.

Please introduce yourself... who is Next Stop Willow Bee?

I an Nicole Basilone and I am a 23 year old artist, illustrator and designer plush maker. I am the owner of Next Stop Willow Bee
or WillowBee LLC.

When I was younger I used the name Bee Cute Designs, the Etsy shop originally had that name. My nickname is Nikki Bee, because my last name starts with the letter B and I am terrified of Bees.... haahaa. So when I used to make homemade cards and things I'd put "Bee Cute Designs" on the label. As I got older and wanted to turn my art into a brand of collectable pieces, I decided to change the name into something that could grow with everything I wanted to do.

The name, WillowBee and Next Stop Willow Bee, was actually inspired from and old Twilight Zone Episode, called A Stop at Willoughby. My Mom and I always watch the Twilight Zone marathons on television and that episode was my favorite.

What made you open an Etsy shop?

I've actually been on Etsy since 2009, not as a shop owner but as a buyer and lover of handmade stuff. It says on the side "open since 2009" but I recently opened October 30, 2012. I have been shopping and meting people on Etsy since 2009, it's a great community. That's when I knew I wanted to sell my art I'd started an Etsy. I already had relationship with some of the sellers I'd purchased things from, the shops are easy to navigate and find, and Etsy makes it easy for seller to list items. When an artist is first starting out I think Etsy is a great place for them to go and for them to continue to go even after they are established.

How do you promote your designs?

Well that's the tricky part now isn't it? I don't have a specific plan for promoting items yet. I list items on Etsy ( which people see right away because they are new), I talk about it on Twitter, I have a Facebook fan page and Web Site. I also talk about my art to EVERYBODY. I also wear one of my Positives ( my own designer plush creation) around with me all the time and so when people see it they ask about it and I tell them: Mostly my art has been promoted by word of mouth so far, locally, I've done several custom Positives for people who know me or my family.

What is your advice for fellow artists?

My advice would have to be never give up and also watch Neil Gaiman's commencement speech, it's inspirational. I've had so many people question why I want to be an artist instead of going and working a 9-5 job. I think the most important thing for an artist is to know why you love what you do, why you want to do it, and just do it. no matter what, do art. I try not to let other things get in my way of accomplishing my goal of being a successful artist who can live off of her craft.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

I hope to be established in 5 years, selling lots of art, designing patterns for fabric to go on bags, having vinyl toys, going to art shows, and meeting lots of fellow artists. I would love for my brand to be comparable to that of Jeremyville or Tokidoki in five years.

Hello readers. I am an aspiring illustrator/artist working out of Pennsylvania (United States.) I’ve had a passion for art ever since I was a child. Some of my fondest memories are that of going to the library and looking at books with stories of far off lands and adventure. The films of Walt Disney also had a strong impact on me. Throughout my schooling years, I tried to take every art course that my school offered; I couldn’t get enough of it. From painting to sculpture, I was happy to fill my schedule with art classes. When it came time to further my education, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to study art in college.

So after earning my Bachelor’s Degree from Keystone College in 2008, it has been my dream to continue my artistic journey and hopefully inspire others along the way.

What made you open an Etsy Shop?

As an artist, I know it is important to use every avenue available to help promote my work. I knew Etsy existed in the past, but it wasn’t until over the last year that I really got interested in seeing where opening a shop would take me. It’s a great outlet to exhibit your work and show others what makes you special. I’ve been building up a portfolio over the past few months and am looking to expand my shop in the coming weeks as the holidays approach. The options are endless on Etsy and I really appreciate that it nurtures the artistic community.

How do you promote your designs?

I have a Facebook Group dedicated to my work – Jordan Fees Art. I use Twitter frequently and also consider word of mouth a valuable tool in getting my name out there. As of this month, I have been hosting art shows that display my work locally. This has been a grass roots campaign for me and I’m working from the ground up. I feel that I’m doing the right thing as feedback has been amazing. As I add work to my shop, I frequently promote and keep people updated on what items I have coming. It’s exciting to reveal something new!!

What is your advice for fellow artists?

Where do I start? It’s so important to believe in yourself and your talent. Don’t let anyone tell you “No,” or that you can’t do something. Have a strong foundation and support system. Any dream that is worth having is a dream worth fighting for. Whether you decide to venture into music, theater fine art, journalism etc, know that if what you’re doing makes you happy, you’re going in the right direction J

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

As of this year, I am trying to promote my illustration work as well as a line of Holiday Greeting Cards (Halloween, Christmas etc.) It is my dream that Jordan Fees Art (also known as Jordan Fees Designs) can expand into the holiday market. I love being festive and creative around the holidays and there are many like me who share that same passion. I hope to continue bringing my designs into people’s lives. My brand stands for quality and attention to detail and I will strive to please each and every one of my customers.

Please introduce yourself...

My name is Colleen Weikel and I live in southeastern Pennsylvania. I am 64 years old, retired and married for 30 years. We have 3 kids between us. He has a son, 44, and a daughter, 40, I have a son 43. We have a total of 10 grandchildren.

I have been drawing and painting for over 50 years, When I lived in Arizona in the 1970's, I did have the opportunity to take a few classes from Yavapai Community College, but I'm mostly self-taught. When I retired in 2011 I finally had the chance to spend more time painting, drawing, crafting, and starting an Etsy shop. My favorite medium is pencil. I love to draw pencil portraits. In fact, that's what I did for my son's wedding gift. I drew him and his fiance from my favorite picture of them together.

What is your inspirations for your designs?

Many things inspire me. The way a person walks through the mall, song lyrics, salt air, a beautiful gnarled old tree, birds, flowers. I guess there is not too much that doesn't fascinate me in some way.

How do you promote your creations?

Promoting is the most difficult thing for me. I think most artists aren't naturally good at promotion. For me, my main means of promotion has been craft shows. However, now that I have an Etsy Shop, I belong to several teams that have as their main purpose promoting their membership's work. I have found that if I take the time every day to take part in the promo threads of each team, I sell. If I don't take the time, there are no sales. Most of the promotions are through social media and I'm surprised how effective it is. I'm hoping my Etsy shop will take the place of most of my craft shows.

What is your advice for fellow artists?

The only advice I can give to other artist's is: Follow your heart. Draw/paint/create what makes you happy.When you do that, it shows in your work and the person who looks at what you've done, will know that this came from your heart.

Enter contests, place your work in local galleries, banks, coffee shops, restaurants and be sure to market your work via social media. Anything to get your name 'out there'.

Where do you see your brand in five years?

It's hard to know where I will be in 5 years. I'm hoping to have my name well established online and in my local area.
