I am so glad that we have today the possibility to learn with online video tutorials. I use them very often to learn new programs like joomla or script languages.It is difficult to learn new programs from books but it is very easy to watch a video tutorial where a person shows something with pictures and you can immediately try it too.

so thanks to web 2.0 ;)

Last year I found this website from Dave Werner, a media designer www.okaydave.com.
It is a Flash website and he presents his work in a very great way. He uses videos to present his projects and also to introduce himself. That makes him very sympathic and it is of course an advantage for customers to see this videos, so they can get a good impression of his personality, character and work.
As I saw his videos I would immediately want him to do a design for me if I would need one :)
For me his website is an inspiring example.

Second Life

After my last blog entry you can imagine what I think about second life. If you hear about it or test it the first time it is absolute fascinating that you can create a person and walk in a world builded like the real word, with buildings, shops, people, nature, just everything and can talk with people from all over the world. But as I have already said in my last blog entry, I am critical about spending time in a virtual world.
What I liked about second life was to create the avatar, to choose hairstyle, clothes, the face, body, etc the reason why I like it ? Perhaps because I am a girl, and love all about styling :) It reminds me a little bit of the sims, which I played a few times when I was younger. There i also love to create different people and my own house, with furniture, decoration, a garden ect. ( I don´t know if it is possible to create houses in second life too? but it is called second life so there must be everything possible, but like in the real life, you must probably pay for it or? )

hmm.... I can understand that so many people like second life but for me it isn´t the right thing.

Online video course experiences

The course was a good experience, because we got alot of input what for further other websites are out there except only facebook. I also like the video examples we were shown of some artists, it is very interesting because with videos you can transport so much emotion but also information.
A funny thing is, that I was confronted in the course with some things I am absolut sceptical about and if we hadn´t have the course I wouldn´t have tried it, for example second life.
I don´t like the idea to spend time in a virtual world or to be infront of the laptop the whole day. I think you should go outside enjoy the nature, the sun, going out with friends and so on.
Also to make a own blog was a totally new experience for me, I am not really the person who wants to communicate my feelings and experiences with a big audience then I would rather talk personally to my friends.
But as an artist its is of course perfect to show your work on a website. I also have a own website with my projects.
So I come to the conclusion that for work the whole offers of the web are very useful but the private life should be in the real world.

Today I want to say what I personally think about facebook.
Firstly it is very useful if you haven´t seen s.o. for a long time, you can find alomst everybody on facebook and when you are friends you can watch each others profile, pictures and are always up to date what s.o. is doing.
But you could also say that somehow facebook is for people who are nosy or who have too much time, or are just bored, because many of my friends are playing farmville on facebook or do every test which exists to find out who they will be in their next life for example.

Concerning the data problem I am really careful what I post on facebook or which datas I write in my profile but for artist or companies I think it is a really useful plattform.

So facebook has good sides and bad sides, but I really think about to delete my profile.....

HOW TO MAKE PELMENI

I love Russian food especially "Pelmeni" so I would like to give you a short introduction how to make these delicious little pelmenis.

For the dough you need:
* 3 cups Flour
* 2 eggs
* salt
* water

For the filling you need:
* ground beef
* onion finely chopped
* salt and pepper
* 1 egg

How to make it:
Put everything of the dough together and form it into a ball, then cover with plastic wrap and put it into the fridge to chill for 20-30 mins.
Mix also the ingredients of the filling together in a bowl.

When the dough is ready, roll out to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out 3 inch rounds with a biscuit cutter or a lid. Put a scant teaspoon of the filling onto each 3 inch shape. Fold over and seal the edges with a fork. Wet both ends of the pelmeni and bring them round and pinch together to the shape of an tortelli.

Then cook it:
Bring 3 1/2 pts of salted water to a boil. Drop in the pelmeni by the dozen. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or until they rise to the surface.

You should serve it with heavy sour cream, its also very delicious to mix the sour cream with a ketchup and then plunge the pilmeni in it.

You should try it it is very simple.
