So, for those of you who were at the Life Night on Sunday, you know that we talked about Scripture and hopefully you might have thought of some ways to spend more time with Scripture, yourself. One great way is to read the readings and gospel before Mass on Sundays! This is helpful because then you understand them better, and it gives you time to actually reflect on its meaning to you. A great resource for this is the Sunday Sunday Sunday podcast. It is a weekly preparation for the upcoming Sunday Catholic Mass readings, hosted by the Bible Geek, Mark Hart. I would highly encourage you to listen to it once and see if you like it. You can listen to it here, on the blog, on the right column towards the middle in the blue box, on iTunes, or at LifeTeen.com at the podcast page. Happy listening!

Is Everyone a Musician???

So apparently everyone at Incarnate is a professional musician... except me. People are dropping new CDs and new songs left and right! There's everything from the recent release of Glory Blue's new CD featuring IW Alum, Justin "Happy" Manion, to "(BS)" Ben Slabaugh Band's new album being released on September 25th. I would definitely jump on these CDs, because prices will be going up! (I guess they have to make a living somehow?). And we can't forget our very own Open Theory putting out their first song, Relentless, featuring Steve Claudin, John Lozano, Tim Dulle, Maren Reinig, and Patrick Queensen. Look for their song on PQ's recent talk on being a leader. For those of you who are Facebook inclined, they all have groups! (surprise, surprise). Invisible Children Returns

Invisible Children is coming back; this time bigger and better. They will be at Incarnate on Saturday, September 22nd in the Kent Center to spread awareness about the Acholi people of Northern Uganda. Please join us as they bring new information and media to share with you. Also, please pass this on to everyone you know. Adam Bitter will also be sharing a special concert with us this evening! Nicaragua Meeting

There will be another Nicaragua meeting Wednesday, September 12th at 6PM before prayer group. If you can not attend get in contact with Dan next week so he can get you a registration form for the trip.

Also, we are thinking about making this trip next year so please pray for all of those in Nicaragua and other parts of Central America that are getting hit very hard by a Category 5 Hurricane named Felix.

Fall Retreat '07

Fall Retreat is happening already! It will be held October 5th through the 8th. This is a perfect opportunity to get away from school/work/home and come spend a relaxing weekend away growing in your faith. It will be held at Rockyvine and is open to all high school students. Pick up a form in Dan's office, or just send him a message (dkhuss@aol.com) and he can get you the information, or you can download the form to print right here. Don't worry, I don't understand what ninjas and pirates have to do with the Vatican either, but apparently the wacky minds over at LifeTeen.com do! They've released two all new games, Vatican Ninja vs. Pirates, a one player game with a pretty steep learning curve, and Showdown, a great chance to challenge your friends (do note that they have to be at the computer with you).
