Pet Bull Palooza is a community event that promotes responsible guardianship of pit bull terrier-type dogs, that will offer free vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter surgeries, collars, leashes, toys, treats and training advice -- all while celebrating the important role that pets play in families’ lives. All participants can also enter a free raffle for a baseball autographed by New York Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera. The goal of Pet Bull Palooza is to encourage “pit parents” to ensure that their dogs are healthy, safe, spayed or neutered, trained and socialized, all of which makes them great family pets and keeps them out of trouble and out of the shelters. The event seeks to celebrate and enhance the relationships that people have with their pets by supporting responsible dog guardianship in a festive community atmosphere.

It's true. October is a great time of year.  The baseball postseason started yesterday. Yankee, Phillie and Ranger fans are happy. Ray, Red and Twin fans not so much.
