రియాధ్: వీసాకు దరఖాస్తు చేసినప్పటి నుంచి.. అది ఎప్పుడు అప్రూవ్ అవుతుందో. అసలు అవుతుందో కాదో, అనే టెన్షతో అభ్యర్థులు గడుపుతుంటారు. అలాంటి తలనొప్పులేవీ లేకుండా సౌదీ అరేబియా వినూత్న పద్ధతికి శ్రీకారం చుట్టింది. నెలలు, వారలకు సెలవు చీటీ ఇచ్చేసి కేవలం 24 గంటల్లోనే వీసా ఇచ్చేలా ఎలక్ట్రానిక్ విధానాన్ని అమల్లోకి తెచ్చింది. జనవరి 1 నుంచి అమలవుతున్న ఈ విధానం గురించి సౌదీ విదేశాంగ శాఖ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ ముఖ్యాధికారి ఉసామా నుగాలి వివరించారు. తమ దేశంలో పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టాలనుకున్న విదేశీయులకు ‘బిజినెస్ వీసా’ను ఒక రోజులోనే ఇచ్చేలా అన్ని ఏర్పాట్లు చేశామనీ, మిగిలిన విజిట్ వీసా, వర్క్ వీసాల విషయంలో కూడా ఇలాంటి విధానాన్ని తెచ్చే ఆలోచన చేస్తున్నామని తెలిపారు. దేశ ఆర్థిక రంగాన్ని పటిష్టం చేయాలంటే విదేశీ పెట్టుబడులు తప్పనిసరి అని గుర్తించి ఈ తరహా విధానాన్ని అమలు చేస్తున్నామన్నారు.

ప్రకృతి విపత్తుల్లో చాలా వరకు మనిషి తన ప్రాణాలు కాపాడుకునే అవకాశాలు చాలా తక్కువనే చెప్పొచ్చు. వరదల్లో చిక్కుకున్నవారైతే చూస్తుండగానే క్షణాల్లో కోట్టుకొనిపోయి ప్రాణాలు బలి కావడం హిమాచల్‌ప్రదేశ్‌లో మన తెలుగు విద్యార్థుల విషయంలో జరిగింది. అయితే అక్కడ సమయానికి రక్షణ చర్యలు అందక, సహాయం చేయడానికి వీలు పడక తమ తోటి మిత్రులను కాపాడుకోలేకపోయామని తిరిగొచ్చిన విద్యార్థులు చెప్పడం మనం చూశాము.

అయితే, ఇలాంటి విపత్కర పరిస్తితుల్లో ఏం చేయాలో ఇపుడు చూద్దాం. ఇపుడు చెప్పేవిధంగా ప్రయత్నిస్తే చాలా వరకు ప్రాణాల్ని రక్షించుకోవచ్చు.

నీటికి గల బలం మన మనిషి బలం & బరువు కన్నా చాలా ఎక్కువ. కాబట్టి మనిషి రెండు కాళ్ళతో నీటి ప్రవాహ వేగానికి, ఒత్తిడికి తగినంత వ్యతిరేక దిశలో బలం ప్రయోగించలేక పట్టు జారి కొట్టుకు పోవడం జరుగుతుంది. అక్కడ ఎంత మంది ఉన్నా, అందరిదీ అదే పరిస్థితి.

World Aqua Expo comes to Vijayawada

Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the prestigious world aqua expo here on Friday 20 Feb 2015.

The three-day expo titled 'Aqua Aquaria' is being organized by the Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA).

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, MPEDA chairperson Leena Nair said that the show was aimed at exposing the aqua farmers and farmers growing ornamental fish to the latest technologies in the sector across the globe. She said that field visits by the experts who practiced better management practices was also arranged as part of the show.

She said that latest innovations in equipment, machineries and use of mobile, internet technology in the farmers would also be demonstrated. She explained that L.Vannamei shrip farm, tilapia farm, Scampi farm and several other species of fresh water fish farm and marine, ornamental fishes in the pond and cement lakes were also identified for field visits to give the farmers hand-on-approach.

"Undoubtedly, Aqua Aquaria is one of the best expos on marine products in the world as 30 internationally acclaimed experts are coming to share their knowledge with the fish farmers," claimed Leena Nair.

She said that they have decided to organise the show in AP to benefit the local farmers as the biggest producers of the marine products in the country. She said that of the total 5 billion dollars of marine products exported last year, nearly 2.5 billion dollar stock was from India. She said that they have already exported 4.7 billion dollar seafood during the current financial year with a growth rate of 11.84 percent over previous year.

She said that they would surpass Rs.30000 crore turnover in exports by the end of current financial year. She said that more than 300 stalls would be set up at the exhibition in which 150 would be domestic and remaining by the international firms. MPEDA officials Ramesh, Sree Kumar, Dr.S. Kandan, were also present.

A Hyderabad youth Mohammad Abdul alias Fazal Sheikh who posted his pic standing on a rare endangered 50 year old Galapagos tortoise on Facebook was arrested by police for illegally entering the enclosure in Nehru Zoological Park.

The boy, a mechanic at an auto garage in Old city had a selfie [pix clicked by his friends in May last year during a visit to the premier zoo in old city of Hyderabad]. In one photo, he is seen standing on the Tortoise and in the other he is getting close to an ostrich. Few animal lovers who found the photos making circles in the social network made a complaint to the curator of the Zoological Park who initiated action.

A local daily carried the youth's pictures standing on the tortoise, yesterday, following which the Zoo authorities filed a compliant. "A local daily had carried the photos after which Zoo authorities lodged a complaint. After verifying with the newspaper and the boy's Facebook profile, Mohd Abdul was picked up last night," the officials said.

"It is surprising to note that there are people there in the background of the photo where he was standing on the hapless tortoise, but no one seems to care," Curator of the Nehru Zoological garden, G Ramakrishna Rao said. He added that the park spread over 380 acres is so large that his 90 member security staff could not keep eye on every visitor and enclosures.

The police after arresting Fasal identified him as a habitual offender .He is a habitual offender and has been entering enclosures of rare animals in the zoo and taking selfies and posting them on social media day after day. "The boy says he has done it to get more likes and "just for fun," Bahadurpura Station Inspector Harish Kaushik said.

The police after receiving a complaint from the Zoo authorities traced Fazal's address by sending him a fake "add me" in the name of a girl. He immediately responded with his address. Police then nabbed him on Thursday morning.

Abdul was booked on charge of trespassing under relevant IPC section and relevant provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, Kaushik added. Few vernaculars and English daily also published the photographs of Fazal whose clippings he retained in an album at his residence.

Trespassing is not a new problem with the famous Zoo Park here. In August 2009, an intoxicated visitor ended up with a mauled arm after trying to feed grass to a white tiger. In 2000, a tigress Sakhi was killed and skinned by some anti socials after they entered the safari through the historic water reservior-Miralam Tank abutting it. A property dealer Mohd. Salahuddin was caught for his involvement in the case five years later.
